“How dare you!” Yi Bu shouted in anger, sweeping his long sleeve to entangle Wuya’s sword.
Wuya let out a cold snort, spinning his sword quickly to shred Yi Bu’s sleeve to pieces. “Still pretending?”
Yi Bu leaped back ten paces, his expression shifting to reveal a strangely coquettish smile, his voice returning to that of a woman’s. “How did you figure it out?”
Wuya replied with a cold laugh, “The Sect Leader and I had an agreement that even he couldn’t enter the Shadow Prison. Even if the Sect Leader needed to enter now, he would certainly have mentioned this agreement to me. Yet when you came just now, you acted as if this agreement had never existed. Naturally, you must be an impostor.”
Yi Bu covered her mouth and laughed: “Who would have thought that Yi Bu could actually be clever sometimes.”
“Water Official and Heaven Official just got turned away, and then you appeared.” Wuya slowly raised his hand. “It seems…”
“You’re very clever.” A water column shot toward Wuya, who hastily retreated. Water Official appeared beside Wuya, grabbing his wrist. Wuya winced in pain, dropping the command arrow in his hand.
“Traitor!” Wuya hissed.
“Mu Yin!” Water Official called out to the fake Yi Bu.
Yi Bu waved her hand, reverting to her true form as an alluring woman. She leaped through the crowd, attempting to break into the Shadow Prison.
“Stop her!” Wuya shouted in anger.
The remaining six people immediately formed a formation, forcing Mu Yin back. Wuya seized the opportunity to grasp his sword with his left hand, forcing Water Official back with one strike. Water Official swept his left sleeve, gradually forming a sword of water in his hand, attacking Wuya. Wuya immediately met the attack with his sword, but when the blades crossed, Water Official’s water sword passed straight through Wuya’s iron sword. Startled, Wuya hastily retreated as the water sword suddenly dispersed, spraying toward his chest.
Water Official smiled, lightly waving his hand as a sword formed of water spiraled at his fingertips.
Wuya slightly lowered his head. Though he had managed to retreat in time to avoid most of the water sword, a single drop had still landed on his left abdomen, leaving a bloody spot.
“I don’t know what Yi Bu was thinking. Dark River’s strength has long surpassed Shadow Sect, yet he still relies on outdated traditions to control Dark River,” Water Official said with a smile. “Unlike my two foolish companions, I only choose the strong.”
“You want to rescue Su Muyu?” Wuya retreated while holding his sword, as the other six people stepped forward to his side.
Mu Yin raised her delicate eyebrows: “This formation is…”
“The Northern Dipper Star Formation,” the Water Official said gravely. “This formation’s killing power might be ordinary, but its ability to trap opponents is second to none among all formations in the world.”
“If you have the ability, come break the formation,” Wuya sneered.
Mu Yin pondered for a moment before shaking her head: “With just the two of us, we can’t break this formation quickly. And if we fight here, even if they don’t send out the command arrow, too much noise will definitely alert others in the Shadow Sect.”
After a long silence, Water Official finally extended his finger and sent forth the water sword in his hand.
Outside the Duke’s mansion wall.
“Little Divine Physician, I didn’t expect we would meet again,” Mu Yumu smiled, extending a finger where a pearly white spider perched.
Bai Hehuai smiled and took out a medicine bottle from his robes, pouring a crystal-clear dewdrop-like medicine onto the spider: “Meeting the beautiful Lady Mu again makes Hehuai very happy as well.”
The spider opened its mouth and swallowed the entire drop of medicine.
“Will this little one be able to find Su Muyu?” Bai Hehuai asked.
“Don’t worry. This spider was specially bred to find Su Muyu from the beginning. I’ve raised dozens just like it,” Mu Yumu lowered her finger to the ground, and the spider immediately crawled away.
Bai Hehuai asked curiously, “There are spiders like this?”
“We executed several missions together before, and I prepared these then. Divine Physician, don’t overthink it,” Mu Yumu said with a smile.
“Beautiful Lady Mu has learned bad habits from your leader, starting to tease me,” Bai Hehuai held his forehead. “It’s not what you all think.”
“We know, we’re all friends, good friends!” Mu Yumu declared cheerfully.
Su Muyu lay in the Shadow Prison, faintly hearing the sounds of battle outside. He stood up, attempting to use his inner power, but still to no effect. That day, to avoid Yi Bu’s suspicion, he had genuinely been afflicted by Water Official’s Dream Drunkenness Bug, but if Water Official couldn’t enter, the bug couldn’t be dispelled, and he couldn’t break through the Shadow Prison’s door. As he was considering his options, a rustling sound arose at his feet. Looking down, he saw the white spider.
“Yumu’s Tracking Spider?” Su Muyu brightened, bending down to pick up the white spider.
“Do you think Su Muyu will understand our plan?” Outside the wall, Bai Hehuai asked Mu Yumu.
Mu Yumu thought for a moment: “He won’t think I sent a spider in just to entertain him, right?”
“True,” Bai Hehuai nodded.
Su Muyu examined the white spider, hesitated for a moment, then sighed: “This is a bit disgusting.” After speaking, he opened his mouth and tossed the spider in.
“What do you think it tastes like?” Bai Hehuai asked Mu Yumu.
“Crispy tastes like chicken. I’ve eaten one before,” Mu Yumu said proudly.
Of course, Su Muyu didn’t chew but swallowed it directly. Moments later, he understood his guess wasn’t wrong – the spider indeed contained the antidote to the Dream Drunkenness Bug. His inner power gradually returned, and as Water Official had said before, the inner power after the initial dispelling of the bug was even more abundant than before being infected. He reached out and lightly pulled on the iron bars, directly pulling the prison door open.
Outside the Shadow Prison, Water Official and Mu Yin had launched dozens of attacks but were repeatedly repelled by the seven people, who remained unmoved, seemingly determined to hold out until the end.
Suddenly the Shadow Prison’s door opened, and Su Muyu walked out slowly.
“Hahahahaha,” Water Official laughed heartily. “You really are someone who can surprise people.”
Wuya was also shocked and shouted: “Damn it. We should have bound him with the Dragon-Binding Chains from the start!”
“What start are you talking about?” Su Muyu gently pushed out a palm from behind, directly breaking the Northern Dipper Star Formation.
The seven people suddenly fell to the ground as Su Muyu leaped forward, seizing the long sword from Wuya’s body. He weighed it lightly: “This will have to do for now.”
“Go do what you need to do, leave this to us,” Water Official smiled.
“Thank you,” Su Muyu bowed his head.
“It’s my honor to witness some changes,” Water Official tilted his head slightly upward.
