Outside a secluded mansion in southern South Peace City, Bai Hetui and Su Muyu came to a stop. The white spider circled the entrance several times but refused to proceed further.
“Something inside must be frightening it,” Su Muyu said gravely.
Bai Hetui bent down and extended a finger. The spider crawled up her finger and into her sleeve.
Su Muyu smiled, “You’re quite fearless of these creatures.”
“I’m a physician, how could I fear small insects? Moreover, I was born in the Wen family. My mother used to raise the Five Poisons – what haven’t I seen?” Bai Hetui let out a soft breath, “Let’s go in.”
“I’ll scout ahead.” Su Muyu leaped over the courtyard wall in a single bound. The courtyard was pitch black, with twelve water vats placed around its perimeter, eerily quiet. He waved his hand, throwing a puppet string toward the outside. Bai Hetui caught it and leaped into the courtyard as well.
Bai Hetui sniffed lightly: “Not good.”
As soon as she spoke, eight of the water vats exploded simultaneously. Eight muscular men, bare-chested, burst out, and a foul stench permeated the courtyard.
Su Muyu sheltered Bai Hetui behind him, his hand on the sword at his waist. He had left his corpse-poison-tainted oil-paper umbrella at the pharmacy and now carried only an iron sword. “Be careful,” he said solemnly.
“Mm.” Bai Hetui clutched several silver needles in her hand, looking around for any trace of Night Crow’s presence, hoping to end this with one strike.
While they searched, the eight Medicine Humans charged at them. Now knowing their weakness, Su Muyu struck without hesitation, delivering eight sword strikes aimed at their chests. But eight metallic clangs rang out, and Su Muyu immediately withdrew his sword, grabbed Bai Hetui’s shoulder, and sprang back to the entrance. He whispered, “They were prepared.”
Bai Hetui looked closely and saw a golden glint on the Medicine Humans’ chests in the moonlight. She frowned, “They’ve embedded iron chest protectors!”
“If it were ordinary iron, my sword would have shattered it. This material is unusual,” Su Muyu said softly.
Bai Hetui gritted her teeth, “Damn it. Night Crow is full of tricks!”
“Hahaha! Who do we have here? If it isn’t little Junior Master.” A hoarse voice rang out. “I thought Xin Baicao had taken new disciples who came to interfere with my plans. I didn’t expect little Junior Master to come personally. Night Crow pays his respects.”
Bai Hetui sneered, “So it is you, you wretch. Come out and face death!”
“It seems little Junior Master wants to clean house.” Night Crow laughed heartily. “Unfortunately, I was already expelled from Medicine King Valley. My actions have nothing to do with the Valley!”
“Whether related or not, you’ve committed acts against human morality and must be punished!” Bai Hetui shouted.
“Hahaha, I didn’t know Medicine King Valley disciples had such righteous hearts. But how will you punish me? The gentleman beside you may have peerless swordsmanship, but against enemies that cannot die, what can he do?” Night Crow sneered.
Bai Hetui felt anxious. She had thought that knowing the Medicine Humans’ weakness, combined with Su Muyu’s supreme swordsmanship, one strike to the heart would end everything. But these Medicine Humans wore impenetrable chest protectors, forcing Su Muyu to constantly dodge around the courtyard with her.
“How long can you keep dodging? Why not leave now? I’ll depart South Peace City tomorrow morning. I’ll pretend I never saw little Junior Master, and you can pretend you never saw me. How about it?” Night Crow asked.
Bai Hetui bit her lip, unwilling to agree but unable to think of another solution.
“Close your eyes,” Su Muyu suddenly said quietly.
“Hm?” Bai Hetui was startled.
“Close your eyes,” Su Muyu repeated.
“Alright.” Bai Hetui didn’t question further and followed his instructions.
Su Muyu sighed softly. A cold light flashed as his sword flew out. In the span of three breaths, he executed thirty-two strikes, each precisely severing a Medicine Human’s limbs. After the thirty-two strikes, hands and feet littered the ground, leaving eight limbless torsos writhing aimlessly.
The scene was as horrific as the Buddhist hell described in ancient texts, which was why Su Muyu had told Bai Hetui to keep her eyes closed. He sheathed his sword and said quietly, “Keep your eyes closed until we leave the courtyard. Trust me, I can handle everything here.”
“Alright.” Bai Hetui showed no curiosity and kept her eyes tightly shut.
Night Crow, hidden in the shadows, was completely stunned. Though he didn’t know who this man accompanying Bai Hetui was, anyone walking beside her must be from a prestigious sect. But he hadn’t expected such brutal, fierce swordsmanship that reach such terrifying levels. Moreover, facing the horrific scene in the courtyard, the man’s expression remained unchanged, showing not the slightest ripple of emotion.
“Such a solution, ordinary people wouldn’t think of it, and even if they did, they wouldn’t dare execute it. May I ask who you are?” Night Crow asked gravely.
“You shouldn’t have spoken,” Su Muyu leaped forward, breaking through the house door with one sword strike. He arrived before a Buddha statue inside, then swept his sword to rest against the neck of a black-robed figure standing with his back turned. “Without the Medicine Humans interfering, once you spoke, I could locate you.”
The black-robed figure was naturally Night Crow. With a sword at his neck, he remained unfazed and smiled, “Such swift movement, such supreme swordsmanship – you’re no ordinary person. However…”
Su Muyu’s heart jumped as he whirled around. The remaining four water vats in the room suddenly shattered, and four middle-aged men in gray robes rushed toward Bai Hetui in the courtyard.
Sensing people approaching, Bai Hetui threw out all her silver needles while executing the Su family’s Phantom Steps to dodge the incoming fist attacks. Yet she still remembered Su Muyu’s words and kept her eyes closed even in this dangerous situation.
Su Muyu didn’t hesitate. He immediately returned to the courtyard, landing beside Bai Hetui. His sword swept out, sending a blade of sword qi to force back the four men. But these weren’t ordinary Medicine Humans – they dodged the sword qi by moving sideways.
Golden Body Medicine Humans!
The thought flashed through Su Muyu’s mind.
“Kill them!” Night Crow shouted.
