An He Zhuan: Act Seven – Chapter 8

The Earth Official’s judge’s brush suddenly lifted, and the four characters on the ground transformed into four streams of true qi, attacking directly toward Su Muyu. Su Muyu raised his dagger to barely block them, and with a faint crisp sound, the dagger finally developed a crack.

A weakness had been exposed!

The Heaven Official’s eyes narrowed slightly as he drew his long blade and leaped down, aiming straight for Su Muyu’s head.

Su Muyu hurriedly raised his dagger to block, his entire body bent under the pressure. As the Heaven Official applied more force, Su Muyu’s dagger instantly shattered into fragments. In desperation, he swung both hands with all his might, sending all the fragments flying outward. The Heaven Official immediately withdrew his blade and retreated sharply. The fragments passed by his side without managing to wound him.

But now Su Muyu had no weapon in hand.

The Earth Official’s judge’s brush advanced again, making fierce strokes to write ten more characters.

But they were all the same character.

Death death death death death death death death death death.

Su Muyu’s sleeves were shredded by the judge’s brush. Left with no choice, he leaped upward, cycling through every martial art he had ever learned in his life. Finally, he chose to extend one finger, sweeping it toward the Earth Official.

Sword Finger.

His finger struck the Earth Official’s judge’s brush.

The judge’s brush began to crack from its tip, and sword energy directly sliced through the brush toward the Earth Official. The Earth Official immediately abandoned the judge’s brush and retreated with quick footwork.

Su Muyu stood in place, the finger he had just extended now turned a dark blue. Using a finger to channel supreme sword energy was a technique recorded in a secret manual from Wujiang City, but the toll it took on the body was extreme. Without day after day of practice, each stream of sword energy meant sacrificing one finger.

Su Muyu still had nine fingers left, meaning nine more sword energy strikes.

The Heaven Official naturally wouldn’t give Su Muyu a chance to catch his breath and immediately charged forward with his blade. Su Muyu turned around, preparing to extend another finger. At this moment, a long sword suddenly attacked from behind the Heaven Official, who sensed it and immediately turned sideways to strike at the sword. The sword was knocked away, spun in the air, and fell back down.

“Qingcheng Mountain’s Sword Control technique?” The Heaven Official cautiously retreated.

But that sword didn’t attack him again, instead sweeping across the ground and arriving in front of Su Muyu.

The Heaven Official only then noticed that an extremely thin and fine thread was attached to the sword.

Dark River’s puppet strings.

Su Muyu caught the sword and turned around.

A tall woman in white robes stood there with a medicine box on her back, making a fist-palm greeting: “Ah, Su Muyu, you’ve changed after experiencing the mortal world. Even daring to come to the Teaching House.”

Su Muyu appeared somewhat embarrassed: “Your father brought me here.”

“Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk, so you’re innocent?” The woman shrugged.

“I can testify, Young Master Su only listened to a song,” Second Master Tu immediately stepped forward.

“Coming to the Teaching House just to listen to music is like me going to Tianqi City’s Tower Lodge and then…” the woman paused, “drinking a pot of Pu’er tea. Do you know what that’s called?”

“What’s it called?” Second Master Tu and Su Muyu asked in unison.

“Being hypocritical while trying to appear righteous,” the woman laughed.

Su Muyu thought for a moment, then nodded: “Making a decisive move!” As soon as he finished speaking, he leaped up, wielding the sword as he arrived beside the woman. Su Muyu swept the sword to drive back the Earth Official who was sneaking up to attack. He then gently pushed the woman toward Second Master Tu’s side: “Second Master, please watch over Physician Bai for me.”

“Physician Bai?” Second Master Tu asked in confusion.

The woman smiled: “Bai Hehuai, junior uncle to Xin Baicao of the Medicine King Valley.”

Second Master Tu immediately extended his hand: “I’ve long admired you.”

Bai Hehuai slapped his hand away with a “Pak”: “What long admired? I’ve never shown myself in the jianghu, you’re just talking nonsense. So I don’t believe what you said earlier either.”

Second Master Tu’s expression became awkward: “Miss, you’ve left me not knowing what to say.”

With this sword in hand, Su Muyu’s aura immediately changed. Fighting alone against the blade-wielding Heaven Official and the now brushless Earth Official, he didn’t fall behind at all.

“Among the Three Officials, the strongest in martial arts is the Water Official.” Su Muyu had once had a very brief exchange with the Water Official, whose strength far surpassed these two.

The Heaven Official’s brows furrowed slightly as he shouted: “Come down and help already!”

“Coming.” The Water Official leaped down, his right hand extended as water vapor slowly condensed in his palm, finally taking the shape of a dagger. He landed beside the Heaven Official, then pushed his palm forward, stabbing the water-condensed dagger into the Heaven Official’s back.

“You!” The Heaven Official glared at him in rage, but his strength had already drained away, and the long blade fell from his hand.

Second Master Tu, watching these sudden changes, couldn’t react for a moment. He turned his head to ask Bai Hehuai but suddenly realized that they had all been surrounded by a fog.

Su Muyu let out a light breath, watching as three people walked out of the dense fog.

The Dark River Family Head, Su Changhe.

The Mu Family Head, Mu Qingyang.

And the red-robed ferryman from the Yellow Springs.

“Looks like we arrived just in time,” Su Changhe stroked his small mustache, smiling smugly.

Seeing this, the Earth Official didn’t have time to think and immediately tried to escape with quick footwork, but Su Changhe was the first to leap up. His dagger made a light cut, directly slicing the Earth Official’s throat. As the Earth Official’s corpse fell to the ground, Su Changhe landed in front of Su Muyu, lightly spinning the dagger to shake off the blood: “How about that? My Inch Finger Sword is truly the real killing weapon, right?”

Su Muyu sighed lightly: “The commotion was too big.”

“Within my Guxu Formation, even if Family Head Su were to turn heaven and earth upside down, no one would discover it,” Mu Qingyang tossed his peach blossom coin, saying proudly.

“You worked with the Water Official?” Su Muyu asked.

The Water Official pushed down the now unconscious Heaven Official: “I admire you two.”

“As I said before, you’re not qualified to admire me.” Su Changhe walked forward, looked down at the Heaven Official on the ground, then turned to look at the woman in red, “Did you see clearly?”

“I did.” The woman in red stepped forward, and lightly wiped her face, and when she turned her head again, her features were identical to the Heaven Official on the ground.

“This is our Mu family’s new partner, Mu Ying,” Su Changhe looked toward Su Muyu, “I gave him a code name, Thousand-Face Ghost, not bad, right?”

Su Muyu shook his head helplessly: “Hasn’t the Yellow Springs Pawnshop come after you?”

Mu Ying bowed slightly to Su Muyu, performing a greeting. His features were now identical to the Heaven Official’s, but his voice remained that seductive feminine tone: “This humble one Mu Ying, greets Family Head Su.”
