HomeThe Boundless Bright MoonChapter 431: Dilemma

Chapter 431: Dilemma

His first choice was naturally to use the shape-shifting parasite’s power to escape amidst the chaos.

The more people present, the better this method worked. But this time Mo Tizhun came prepared.

Those two State Preceptors were not easy to deal with. If they discovered she was here too, New Xia would truly have no future. Feng Miao Jun didn’t even have time to glance at him before decisively asking, “Where’s the Dimensional Flask?”

Yun Ya took out the round bottle and handed it to her, then jumped into the flask without hesitation. His wounds were still bleeding, making it too easy to attract pursuers.

Time was life itself.

As this full-grown man vanished on the spot, Feng Miao Jun put away the flask and activated her movement technique, quickly fleeing into the depths of the forest. Since cultivating her divine abilities, she had never run this fast before. After years of bitter training, the time had finally come to test the results.

Never mind her feet not touching the ground—she barely disturbed a few leaves.

In the eyes of skilled trackers, even this would be a clue, so she had to avoid it at all costs.

That damned Yun Ya—whenever she met him, it seemed she had to go on the run for her life. Last time it was in the fiery sea beneath Cliff Mountain.

Barely five breaths after she left, Fire Rong arrived with the pursuit team. It sniffed around the big tree, circled a few times, then shook its head and said, “The scent stops here!”

It had been following the smell of blood all the way. Miao Feng Xian pointed at the tree trunk and said gravely, “There’s still a trace of blood here.”

Mo Tizhun frowned. “It stops?”

Fire Rong confirmed, “Suddenly disappeared, no longer appearing nearby.”

“Could someone have helped him?” Mo Tizhun didn’t even think twice. “Are there any other scents here?”

“None,” Fire Rong replied in a muffled voice. “I can’t smell anything else.”

Had that monster just escaped like that? Miao Feng Xian said solemnly, “Why not track him with his blood?”

As State Preceptors, they naturally possessed countless methods. Miao Feng Xian took out a crystal dish, dripped Yun Ya’s blood into it, closed the lid, and recited several incantations. With the power of this magical tool, the drop of blood would roll toward Yun Ya’s location.

But no matter how he urged with incantations, the blood remained motionless.

Even this technique had failed. That fellow was certainly cautious and well-prepared. Miao Feng Xian and Mo Tizhun exchanged glances, both seeing the deep dissatisfaction in each other’s eyes.

Feng Miao Jun put away the Dimensional Flask, looked around carefully, and ducked out of the forest, quickly blending in with the passing troops.

In her current attire, no one suspected her. With military movements frequent around the Imperial Garden, she switched between several squads before approaching Moon Reflection Pond.

Dense woods and meditation lodges surrounded the pond.

This place was originally secluded, and during these unusual circumstances, the lodges were mostly empty.

She watched for a moment when no one was paying attention, quietly left the squad, and under the cover of the trees, silently opened the door to one of the meditation lodges and slipped inside.

The small building wasn’t large. She circled it twice, then extended her spiritual sense to scan the surroundings.

Indeed, there was no one here.

Feng Miao Jun first casually set up a barrier to block sounds and auras then returned to the pavilion, took out the Dimensional Flask, and weighed it in her hand. Hmm, looking at the miniature scenery inside, it didn’t seem much different from when she had left.

At this moment, she hesitated.

Yun Ya was too prone to causing trouble. Why not just keep him trapped in the flask and carry him out of Yinzi City? This way, everyone’s lives would be preserved.

But if she did this, would it count as “helping the Yao Kingdom”? Considering the practical consequences, by dragging Yun Ya away from the battlefield, she might change the outcome of the war. If the Wei Kingdom suffered defeat because of this, would the Heavenly Dao judge that she had helped Wei’s enemies and brought down lightning punishment?

The last time Heavenly Dao punished someone, it had struck a blank slate instead. She had witnessed that terrifying power, and that was only considered a “light warning for a first offense.” If lightning struck in earnest this time, wouldn’t she certainly die?

She didn’t want to test fate—it was such a dilemma.

She thought about it over and over but couldn’t find a better solution.

While she was staring blankly at the Dimensional Flask, Yun Ya walked out of the small house inside and waved at her.

Feng Miao Jun sighed, sighed again, and had no choice but to let him out.

She was uninjured and had sealed her aura to prevent it from leaking after entering the Imperial Garden. Therefore, no matter how sensitive the other monsters’ sense of smell might be, they couldn’t detect her scent and definitely couldn’t follow her here.

For now, they were safe.

Yun Ya had already sealed several important acupoints to slow his bleeding. Feng Miao Jun dispelled her disguise to reveal her true appearance, and turning her head to see his handsome face turning pale blue, she couldn’t help but ask with concern, “Have you taken medicine?”

“I have.” After entering the Dimensional Flask, he had taken several pills for regenerating flesh, replenishing blood, detoxifying, and restoring qi all at once.

Feng Miao Jun realized her question was foolish. This man carried more medicines than she did—why should she worry? Since he didn’t appear to be in mortal danger, Feng Miao Jun remembered his purpose for coming here, and her expression couldn’t help but darken.

“Let me do it,” she said, snatching the gauze from his hand, and only said one word: “Off!”

Yun Ya looked at her steadily for a moment, saw her grim expression, and obediently took off his upper garment, revealing a firm and well-proportioned upper body. “Every time I see you, I have to undress.”

Feng Miao Jun pressed her lips together and efficiently began treating him. His body was stained with blood, looking somewhat frightening, but after actual examination, she found that most were just flesh wounds. This man had managed to avoid vital areas, showing that he still had strength to spare even in such chaotic combat.

Her understanding of Yun Ya’s strength increased subtly once again.

However, he still had two serious wounds—one on his left chest, struck by Mo Tizhun’s heavy hammer, and one on his lower back, stabbed by Miao Feng Xian’s narrow blade. These two were quite severe. Since leaving the Dimensional Flask, Yun Ya had coughed no less than twice, each time bringing up blood, clearly indicating serious internal injuries.

“Injured your heart meridian?”

He nodded. “And broke two ribs.”

No wonder his strength failed later. Feng Miao Jun bit her lower lip, ignoring the sudden pain that welled up in her heart. “Being surrounded and beaten by two State Preceptors plus seven or eight cultivators—you’re lucky to be alive.”

“Won’t die so easily.” His lips had just curled into a smile when he started coughing again, taking a long while to barely stop.

Feng Miao Jun pressed down on his shoulder to treat the wound on his lower back. This movement pulled at the broken bones in his chest, causing Yun Ya to let out a low moan of pain.

That sound was restrained yet soul-stirring, enough to make an ordinary girl weak to her bones. Feng Miao Jun, however, seemed not to hear it and only said, “Don’t move.” Her slender fingers pressed near the wound, sending a trace of spiritual power to carefully explore.

This position put pressure on his chest, making the already injured Yun Ya even more uncomfortable. He asked softly, “Are you angry?”

Feng Miao Jun didn’t respond.

Indeed. If he couldn’t see that, he would be too blind. “What have I done to upset my dear An’an? Tell me, and I’ll change.”

Feng Miao Jun continued working without looking up. “The great State Preceptor Yun has a hundred schemes and never makes mistakes—what need is there for change?”
