Without a second thought, she immediately used her movement technique to dash forward quickly.
This was the entrance to Yun Ya’s sea of consciousness. Who else could appear here besides him?
In the blink of an eye, she reached another intersection. She turned around the low wall and finally saw the person ahead, but the call that was about to leave her mouth was forcibly held back:
It wasn’t Yun Ya!
It was a pitch-black shadow. Even though this was the sea of consciousness, its color appeared somewhat transparent, and the body it manifested was far less solid than hers. Sometimes it formed limbs, and other times it reverted to a mass of gray smoke.
Feng Miaojun caught up, and the other party sensed her presence. It turned around abruptly, and both sides got a clear look at each other.
Although its facial features weren’t clear, Feng Miaojun could still distinguish that it was a man’s face. However, there was a blood-red vertical pupil on its forehead and interlocking fangs in its mouth. How could this be a normal human?
Feng Miaojun was stunned. Why would such a monster appear in Yun Ya’s sea of consciousness?
The monster seemed equally surprised to see her, looking her up and down several times: “I’ve never seen…”
It could speak, and its voice was deep, carrying a peculiar resonance. Before Feng Miaojun could finish this thought, it suddenly changed its expression and hissed: “No, that’s wrong!” Then it pounced forward fiercely!
Can’t we talk properly? Feng Miaojun dodged to the side and grabbed its arm with a forceful pull.
This thing’s form was like clouds and mist. She only meant to test it, to prepare for subsequent attacks. Who would have thought that with one pull, she’d completely torn off its arm?
The texture was like tearing off an entire piece of beef jerky, old and tough.
The monster let out a wail. Although no fresh blood flowed from the wound, it clearly could feel pain. Its pouncing movement became quicker, and its expression even more furious.
In the sea of consciousness, Feng Miaojun’s speed was much faster than in the real world. How could she fear such a thing? With a flick of her wrist, the Star Sky Cone shot out, starting later but arriving first, lightly piercing into the monster’s shoulder with a “thud,” pinning it to the wall!
As the monster howled, she calmly asked: “Where did you come from? How do you plan to get out?”
If she could figure out how this monster entered the sea of consciousness, she would also find the way out. Of course, she hadn’t forgotten the main purpose of her journey, which was to find Yun Ya’s soul.
The monster had been full of rage, but after hearing her words, its expression suddenly became very strange. It looked at Feng Miaojun again and said in a low voice: “You actually aren’t… no, that’s wrong!”
It had said “wrong” twice. What did that mean? Just as Feng Miaojun was about to ask more questions, she saw the black shadow’s form slowly fade away, becoming more and more transparent. She sensed that something was amiss and had just pulled out the Star Sky Cone when the thing disappeared.
This black shadow of unknown origin had evaporated, right under her nose.
So what should she do now? Feng Miaojun was in a very bad mood.
However, at that moment, a few low calls suddenly came from outside the alley, and then three shadows slowly emerged from the darkness.
Feng Miaojun only needed one glance to know they were companions of the previous one, or at least of the same kind. Although their appearances differed, their soul characteristics were very similar.
It wasn’t hard to see that they had come following the howl of their kind. Moreover, Feng Miaojun had a strange feeling in her heart:
In the darkness, more such monsters were hiding!
Though she couldn’t see them yet, she was damn sure of it.
Earlier, she had worried about finding no one here. Now, however, she had to worry about too many enemies.
While she was pondering, the three black shadows had already charged forward. Two pounced at her face, while the third, tall and with the appearance of a woman, looked quite normal until it opened its mouth to reveal a snake’s tongue.
It was best to end this quickly!
Feng Miaojun formed a long whip in her hand. With a “whoosh,” a gust of wind swept across, directly splitting one black shadow in half. It didn’t even have time to wail before disappearing into nothingness. Just as she was about to deal with the other one, her soul suddenly fluctuated, giving rise to a sense of dizziness.
Amid her busy state, she looked back and discovered that the snake-tongued woman was standing farthest away, mumbling something, clearly reciting an incantation.
Feng Miaojun casually threw the Star Sky Cone. It flew several zhang away, directly piercing through the woman’s forehead!…
As she disappeared, her gaze remained incredulous.
The sound abruptly stopped, and Feng Miaojun’s dizziness immediately lessened, allowing her to deal with the last one.
This one pounced close, and both its hands were locked by Feng Miaojun. Suddenly, two more hands extended from beneath its ribs. Long nails gleamed coldly as they swiftly clawed toward her chest!
This thing had six limbs? Without thinking, she raised her leg and kicked it away!
Legs are longer than arms. Before the monster’s claws could reach her, a large hole appeared in its belly. Her strength was shockingly great. The monster’s body flew sideways, but its arms didn’t—they were still in her grasp.
Both its arms had broken off, causing it to howl in pain.
These fellows weren’t hard to deal with, but what annoyed Feng Miaojun most was their tendency to call for allies. Therefore, before its howl had subsided, she approached quickly and with a “crack,” twisted off its head.
Well, in terms of fighting style, she seemed to have been somewhat influenced by Yun Ya’s twisted sense of humor.
Deep in the maze of alleys, countless enemies seemed to be lurking in the shadows. Killing one brought three, so how much trouble would killing three bring?
Although they hadn’t shown themselves yet, Feng Miaojun could sense these things rapidly approaching. By now, she suspected these mysterious monsters were the King of Yan’s doing. Otherwise, why would Yun Ya still not wake up?
What should she do now? Her purpose in coming here was to find someone, not to level up by fighting monsters in an endless labyrinth.
Hmm, monsters?
She carefully recalled the characteristics of the monsters she had just encountered. This wasn’t the real world, just the entrance to Yun Ya’s sea of consciousness. Could the creatures that infiltrated here, in essence, also be soul-bodies?
If they were soul-bodies, that would make things easier. Others might not be able to change the appearance of their soul bodies, but she could.
Feng Miaojun silently activated her divine power. Her originally clear form gradually became blurry. Not to mention facial features, even the boundaries of her limbs were no longer distinct. Indeed, she became somewhat similar to those monsters whose forms gathered and dispersed.
However, the shadow she simulated by dispersing her soul body’s form was much darker than the monsters, as black as ink. When she gathered herself into human form, she only had the face of an ordinary woman.
She quickly walked toward the next intersection, and sure enough, as soon as she turned the corner, she encountered twenty or thirty black shadows.
With such numbers, it would be challenging for her to deal with them alone. At this moment, she became more worried about Yun Ya: with these mysterious monsters swarming in, could he withstand them?
But the good news was that these things rushed straight past her without giving her a second glance, not even pausing for a second.
Just like that? Had she deceived these fellows?
Feng Miaojun could hardly believe her luck. These monsters were too careless.
