From the moment she entered this world, the soul energy on her body began to dissolve strand by strand, merging into the air. The sky became dim, and even the light changed from a pale white to a dark crimson. All objects in the consciousness sea were coated with a layer of red, viscous-like blood light.
Most terrifying was the rapid temperature rise. Within the span of their brief exchange, the entire valley had become a massive steamer, filled with rising heat.
The snow falling from the sky melted into water before even touching the ground.
Yun Ya’s world had originally been covered in solid ice, but now signs of melting appeared everywhere.
Before her shriek ended, the red figure transformed into a beam of light and crashed heavily into the enormous abyss!
As it flew, its surface lit up with a crimson-gold color, carrying endless scorching light with a long fiery tail trailing behind, like a meteor plummeting to the ground.
This moment of radiance instead cast the entire world into an ominous apocalypse.
At the moment of impact, Yun Ya closed his eyes, knowing he was powerless to stop it. After recovering her power from the virtual realm, the soul energy of the demon leader was so powerful that nothing in the universe could match it.
Even though Yun Ya was the creator of this consciousness sea, he still could not compete. It was precisely because she possessed such power that the demon leader’s obsession dared to invade his world so recklessly, seeking to usurp control.
This outcome was already within his expectations.
The shock wave spread like a tsunami, instantly sweeping in all directions. His robes fluttered violently; he didn’t need to open his eyes to know its ferocity.
The entire consciousness sea world shook violently, with half of the lush forests snapped at their waists.
Everything was being destroyed with ease.
At the impact center, at the deepest part of the abyss, a huge depression several miles in diameter had been created, reaching an astonishing depth of dozens of zhang.
This area had originally been covered by the thickest layer of ice. However, after such a world-destroying collision, the ice at the center of the depression had shattered.
The cracks, as if alive, quickly spread toward the surrounding ice layers. Accompanying this was the sound of massive fracturing.
Deep and ominous.
Yun Ya did not approach the edge of the cliff but knew what was happening at the bottom of the abyss. He turned abruptly and strode toward his small courtyard.
Halfway there, the ice layer at the bottom of the abyss had already cracked.
Before it completely shattered, one black shadow after another eagerly emerged from the fissures, crawling along the broken ice toward the surrounding cliffs.
Their numbers were so dense they resembled an ant colony leaving its nest. Looking down from above, it was like a black tide gushing from a spring, quickly filling the entire abyss.
In the blink of an eye, the bottom and all four walls of the abyss were crawling with black figures, moving everywhere, without a glimpse of the original color of the rock faces.
Suddenly freed and seeing the red figure in the center of the abyss, they could no longer contain their wild joy and let out howls.
This consciousness sea world was instantly filled with the cries of demons, tearing apart the former tranquility.
The demons had returned!
Once the black shadows reached the edge of the abyss, they could transform into mist and fly. Thus, both sky and land were filled with blackness, darkening heaven and earth.
Yun Ya walked to the entrance of his small courtyard and only then looked back to see clusters of black shadows rushing quickly toward him. Even the grotesque faces of those leading the charge were familiar.
These evil neighbors—he had battled them for over three hundred years, and they knew each other thoroughly.
But Yun Ya understood that this time was different.
The demon leader’s immensely powerful impact had directly shattered the ice barrier he had painstakingly reinforced. The demon projections trapped below had immediately found a breakthrough point, allowing them to re-enter his world and wreak havoc once more!
The demon leader did this because after returning to Feng Miaojun’s body, she became constrained by the turtle mark in her dantian, preventing her from possessing others. In other words, she could freely cause destruction in Yun Ya’s consciousness sea but couldn’t truly occupy this realm or completely devour him.
Or perhaps she wasn’t a complete soul to begin with, merely the obsession and soul energy left by her original owner, naturally unable to inhabit another person.
To control him, she needed to use the demon projections from beneath the ice abyss.
She knew his entanglement with these entities all too well.
Watching the intertwined black and red light approaching, Yun Ya stepped back into the small courtyard and turned to close the gate.
This yard was the last sanctuary in his consciousness sea. As long as he defended this place, the demon projections could not occupy his body.
He stood tall, one hand pressing against the gate.
Following this, the black tide surged from the distance, directly crashing into the fence.
Behind the door, Yun Ya felt the vibration of the door panel and ground.
This small courtyard was like a reef in a torrent, bearing tremendous impact force at every moment.
The red figure floated over from the distance.
She moved carelessly, but wherever she went, the black tide automatically avoided her, leaving a passage.
Their reverence for their leader remained unchanged after three hundred years—it was an instinct from the depths of their souls.
“Why struggle in vain?” The demon leader spoke to Yun Ya through the door. “Open this gate, or I will make you suffer for eternity.” Her voice was gloomy, making even the surrounding demons shudder. “I can guarantee that the tortures of the eighteen levels of hell cannot compare to my methods.”
She was an expert at manipulating souls. If Yun Ya’s spirit fell into her hands, it would truly be a fate worse than death. She had countless ways to make him suffer endlessly without his soul dispersing. By comparison, the punishments of the underworld were rigid dogma—how could they compare to her creative methods?
Yun Ya was separated from her by merely three feet, with only a thin wooden door between them. He could even see that crimson shade through the cracks.
“Is that so?” His expression remained serene. “I’d like to experience it firsthand.”
This man truly wouldn’t shed tears until he saw his coffin. The demon leader gave a cold laugh and uttered just one word: “Attack!”
Before her words faded, the surrounding demons reformed into a great tide, crashing against the small courtyard.
The tiny yard was like a lone island in a flood, on the verge of being swallowed at any moment.
Yet it still held firm, albeit shakily.
Such onslaughts had happened many times before, and Yun Ya had always stood his ground. Three hundred years of tempering had made his will as solid as rock, not easily shaken.
If things continued this way, the demon projections might still fail. After all, they were merely projections, and their true power brought into this place was less than one-tenth of their full strength.
After observing for dozens of breaths, the demon leader couldn’t help but curse: “Useless things!”
She waved her hand, and several wisps of red mist mixed into the black tide. Though seemingly insignificant, within a few breaths, they dyed the black waters into a red tide.
Looking more carefully, it didn’t resemble red water at all, but rather magma, sizzling and emitting white smoke when it hit the courtyard fence.
In just these few moments, she had transformed Yun Ya’s consciousness sea into a world of molten lava!
