Chapter 1148 — Human Medicine

Ye Fan was resolute and ruthless. Right before Fan Xian’s eyes, he killed Cao Qing. Blood bloomed high and scattered in every direction.

Those in close proximity were spattered with streaks of blood. Fan Xian’s long, pale, and beautiful legs were marked by several vivid red droplets, which only made her look all the more bewitchingly striking.

“You—how dare you kill Cao Qing. What recklessness. Everyone, seize and kill him.” Frost spread across Fan Xian’s face.

By now, two ancient saint-level armors had already closed in, positioning themselves to protect her and several key Brahma clan members behind them—afraid that Ye Fan had gone completely mad and might kill them all together.

“Those who kill others are killed in turn. Can he be allowed to kill me while I am forbidden from striking back to eliminate him?” Ye Fan said, his expression blank.

The pale-blue armor before them was evidence enough. It was the Cao family’s super saint-level armor—proof of what had transpired. The earlier events could not have been clearer.

The Brahma clan knew it was Cao Qing who had struck—making multiple attempts on Ye Fan’s life in the past—and yet they continued to shield him. Fan Xian had not hesitated to order Ye Fan stopped and killed. There was nothing more to be said.

A long howl tore through the sky—a powerful divine-will shockwave, sweeping from far away to near. Five armors appeared, each blazing with terrifying divine light, radiating rays that soared into the heavens.

These were the Brahma clan’s most mysterious and formidable super ancient saint-level instruments of war. Their combat power was extraordinarily terrifying. Whenever they appeared, blood and carnage followed. And yet today, they had been deployed for the sake of a single individual—which showed just how much they valued him.

Ye Fan turned and walked away. He had no desire to fight the Brahma clan to the death here—there was simply no point. He had no wish to continue the slaughter. Everyone he had intended to kill had already been killed.

He shot upward into the sky—but what awaited him was a massive energy barrier, sealing off the entire Pure Land and preventing anyone from leaving.

Ye Fan quickly activated certain runes on the pale-blue armor, preparing to perform a spatial jump. This armor was extraordinarily mysterious—a peerless holy artifact of the Cao family—and its various capabilities and Great Dao runes were staggering.

Amid a clanging sound, a star gate was pried open. But before he could charge through, the icy gate suddenly collapsed.

Spatial Lockdown!

The Brahma clan had sealed off space—locking down all void laws—making it impossible to leave this place. The star gate was useless.

Ye Fan’s expression changed. This was a dire sign. They were dead set on keeping him here. With this many powerhouses present, things were becoming troublesome.

Fan Xian transmitted her voice loudly, cautioning: “He is a bitter cultivator who possesses a strange formation platform—he may be able to break through the spatial lockdown. Quickly activate the ancient deity’s pill-refining Heaven-Sealing Formation to confine this place!”

Ye Fan’s expression changed. Fan Xian had seen the chessboard formation platform before and understood it well. She had moved one step ahead, deploying the great formation to seal off his escape. At the same time, various heat-based weapons crisscrossed and ignited, turning every inch of sky into a torrent of blazing rays.

It was a terrifying sight. Ye Fan was enveloped beneath a heaven-spanning net. Each beam of light was catastrophic—capable of punching out patches of black holes, capable of destroying small asteroids one after another. And now every single one of them was trained on him.

If not for the Movement Technique, which let him displace himself within the sky a hundred or even a thousand li in a single step, he would have been struck down long ago and shattered to nothing. The Brahma clan was not holding back.

“I have no desire to break with you. But do not push me!” Ye Fan called out loudly.

“There is nothing more to say. Seize him—he cannot be allowed to escape!” Fan Xian’s expression was icy as she addressed the clan’s elite fighters.

Whoosh!

Ye Fan shot skyward, using the Movement Technique to weave through the dense science-and-martial divine rays—evading one killing crisis after another—until he reached the celestial dome above.

Boom!

He struck with bare hands, trying to shatter the light barrier and escape, wanting nothing further to do with the Brahma clan.

“Where do you think you’re going, boy? Our clan went out of its way to cultivate you with the supreme evolution liquid, and this is how you repay us—you dare attempt to defect!” An elder drove a powerful armor forward first and launched a suppression assault.

Ye Fan wore a faint, cold expression. He did not refute this. Outwardly, the Brahma clan had treated him quite well—but nothing in this world was given without reason. He saw through their schemes with perfect clarity and had been on guard the entire time.

All they wanted was his Immortal Golden Body.

The Brahma clan intended to extract his golden precious blood when he had fully matured, using it to elevate their own constitutions—to become the supreme body of the universe.

In a sense, he was currently a precious medicinal herb being raised for the harvest. The moment he was truly ripe, he would be plucked—and he might not even be allowed to keep his life.

Of course, if he remained sufficiently loyal to the Brahma clan, he would be given a path to survival—he might even be placed in a position of importance. After all, a constitution this powerful was incredibly rare.

But was he that sort of person? How could he accept being another’s slave? Without freedom, death would be preferable. A great life-or-death conflict was inevitable in the future.

He had once caught a glimpse of the terrifying gaze of the Brahma clan’s top figure, Brahma Zhou—staring at his Immortal Golden Body as if gazing upon a peerless treasure. Instinctively, he felt that coveting his golden precious blood might not even be their ultimate objective.

“Clang!”

Ye Fan fought the ancient saint-level armor, trading blow after heavy blow—driving his opponent back step by step. The blue demon-blade sent out beams of light stretching thousands of zhang, leaving crack after crack on the opponent’s battle form.

Two more mysterious instruments of war arrived from behind, launching a coordinated kill assault—both using their most formidable techniques—ruthless and relentless, ferocious without limit.

Ye Fan moved with sweeping, unrestricted force. Sheltered within the pale-blue ancient saint-level combat armor, he could release saint-level shockwaves spreading in every direction—moving freely, cutting down everything in his path.

All three Brahma clan armors attacking him together still could not prevail. If he had not been holding back for the sake of appearances and keeping himself from delivering the killing blow, he would already have crippled one of them!

“You truly are an ungrateful wretch, boy. You used our clan’s supreme evolution liquid to advance—and now you dare to defect. You cannot be allowed to live!” An elder roared.

Ye Fan said calmly: “I have already shown restraint. And I rescued your clan’s Fan Xian, allowing you to obtain the Supreme Origin Life Stone. On those grounds alone I have earned the right to consume the precious liquid—I owe you nothing.”

The two most precious divine-nature ores in this venture were the Decree of Heaven Divine Rock and the Supreme Origin Life Stone—especially the latter, which was overwhelmingly heaven-defying. Without it, who knew when the precious liquid could ever be refined.

It could be said that this time, Ye Fan had rendered a monumental service to the Brahma clan. Without him, they would never have obtained the Supreme Origin Life Stone. None of this would have been possible. He had every right to consume the supreme precious liquid.

“Young man of the Ye name, we acknowledge that you have made no small contribution, and that you are indeed entitled to partake of the third-stage precious liquid. But today you have stirred up disaster—you should not have killed Cao Qing. It is not too late to turn back now. Step out of that armor, and we can work everything out,” another elder said.

The battle continued—growing fiercer. Several armors surged skyward, encircling Ye Fan. Their assault was world-shaking. Black holes proliferated in long, connected stretches.

Ye Fan had no intention of submitting to capture. He shook his head and said: “I would like to go out for a stroll. I may be back after some time.”

An elder said gravely: “Whatever you say—you cannot leave. You consumed our supreme purifying precious liquid and now think you can simply walk away. It is not that simple.”

If he stayed, death was likely unavoidable. The Brahma clan wanted his Immortal Precious Blood, and they owed the Cao family on the Eternal Main Star an answer. The rational choice—extracting his value and then handing over a useless corpse—was most likely the plan they would settle on.

And so Ye Fan could not stay. He would leave no matter what it took.

“If you consider me a friend, let me go. One day I will repay you generously. We may have a very productive partnership in the future,” Ye Fan said.

An elder sheltered within his armor shook his head with a cold laugh. An outsider with no foundation, no power base, and no resources—what partnership was there to speak of? Wasn’t that a joke?

In their view, the most precious thing about Ye Fan was the golden blood within his body. They were on the verge of obtaining it—there was nothing left to discuss, and no partnership was needed.

“If I remain here, I will surely die. The Cao family’s reach is long and they will certainly not let me go. Which means—you are asking me to walk to my death, to put out the fire of their anger?” Ye Fan said in a low voice.

“You cannot leave now. How things are settled—everything waits until the senior figureheads return!” The voice that emerged from within a golden suit of armor was cold and without feeling.

Ye Fan let out a long laugh. His voice was icy. “How ruthless. You intend to use my value and then throw me out as a scapegoat, do you? Did you think I don’t know you want the golden blood in my body?”

Things had been said plainly enough now. Both sides had thoroughly torn away all pretense, and there was nothing left to conceal—because it would have been pointless.

“That is correct. You are right. We want your Immortal Precious Blood!” The voice that came from within a blood-red suit of armor was crisp and cold.

“Then I have nothing left to worry about. If you move against me again, don’t blame me for showing no mercy—and casting aside whatever camaraderie we may have built over these past days!” Ye Fan said, his voice frigid.

“What camaraderie could we possibly have with you? We gave you the evolution liquid only to make your golden blood more pure—to put it plainly, we were fattening a pig in order to slaughter it!”

Now that the break was final and all masks had been stripped away, the words grew explosive to the extreme. A middle-aged man said this with perfect indifference. He drove a jade-green armor and dove downward—first unleashing a terrifying heat-based weapon attack, then pressing forward with a jade-green battle spear, driving it ahead.

This was ancient saint-level combat. Great Dao symbols filled the sky—a sign of this, and a testament to heaven and earth’s acknowledgment of their immense and mighty power.

With things spoken to this point, Ye Fan’s eyes grew cold as well. Two startling beams blazed from his pupils, burning like torches as they swept over everyone present. He held the blue demon-blade and swept it horizontally, fighting all enemies.

“Clang-clang-clang—”

Ten thousand swords were loosed at once, the sound ringing out without pause. One among them whirled a holy sword and slashed out a sea of sword-light—thousands upon thousands of sword-rays converging together into a sound like mountains crashing and seas overturning!

The Brahma clan’s several armors used science-and-martial power as their vanguard, while each person held a cold weapon inscribed with secret Great Dao runes and charged in together, shattering heaven and earth and sending primordial chaos energy surging.

“Clang!”

The blue demon-blade in Ye Fan’s hand was like a pool of rippling water—clear and luminous—but the light it swept outward was catastrophic. He drove forward with fierce courage, locking onto one person and attacking, shearing that person’s armor apart.

“Splat!”

Amid the coordinated kill assault, he caused one of them to suffer a wound—leaving that person inside their armor spitting up blood in large mouthfuls, the instrument of war covered in cracks.

Everyone on the ground changed expression. In the middle of a coordinated kill assault, Ye Fan had not been cut down—and had instead inflicted severe damage on one of the elite fighters. That kind of valor made every one of them deeply wary.

“Don’t let him escape—cut him off!” Fan Xian snapped, commanding all ancient saint-level armors that had not yet joined the fight to enter the battle immediately.

In an instant, divine light blazed across the sky. Order divine laws transformed into beams of light resembling chains, filling every inch of space to the brim. The battle became incomparably more ferocious than moments before.

In total, seven super ancient saint-level instruments of war had surrounded Ye Fan, delivering a devastating barrage of strikes against him—all of them the most terrifying holy weapons—intent on suppressing and killing him.
