“Su Man, do you know what you look like right now? You’re like a little kid outside a kindergarten getting lured away by a creep with a piece of candy! Disneyland? Could you be any more childish?! A few flattering words and you actually think you’re a princess? Do you?!”

No response.

Li Li slammed his palm on the table!

“Damn it! She hung up on me again!” he growled.

He looked up to find Wu Xinghai staring at him with his mouth hanging open. Li Li frowned. “What?”

“Nothing……” Wu Xinghai lowered his head listlessly and drank in silence, his feelings extremely complicated.

He had told him to call Su Man and coax her, and within two or three sentences the man had launched into a full frontal verbal assault. What woman could put up with that?

Wu Xinghai silently extended deep sympathy to Su Man.

After a couple more sips of alcohol, he looked at Li Li still wearing that same aggrieved, indignant expression and couldn’t help but remark, “Li Li, I finally understand now why you’ve been single this whole time.”

Li Li said with displeasure, “What’s that supposed to mean? If I’m still single, it’s obviously because I haven’t met anyone worth my attention. I have high standards — understand?”

Wu Xinghai sighed and kept drinking.

“Stop drinking and help me figure this out!” Li Li’s expression was deeply troubled. He gripped his glass and set it down hard, then poured himself another full cup. “Really, what a thoroughly insufferable man — before, it was just dinners together. Now within a few days he’s basically moved in, and to top it all off he’s taking her to Disneyland?!”

Li Li knew Su Man well. She might politely have dinner with someone, might courteously invite someone to her home, but when it came to going out and having real fun — she would only go with the people she was closest to. Either him, or her cousins.

Su Man would never go to an amusement park with someone she only knew casually, because she’d feel too self-conscious to let loose.

And yet there she was, going with that man.

What did that tell him?

It told him that after just a few days together, those two had grown noticeably closer!

The moment Li Li thought of that, he couldn’t accept it.

How was this fair?

How had she gotten so close to that man?!

Wu Xinghai said, “Simple — you ask her out to do something fun too.”

Li Li blinked.

Wu Xinghai had already seen through exactly what kind of person Li Li was, and long since given up expecting him to actually take any advice. His own bag of tricks for winning a woman over would be wasted on him. So he said offhandedly:

“A person’s life, outside of work, is eating, playing, and sleeping. Right now, someone else has already taken over Su Man’s eating and playing. By the time he’s taken over sleeping too, you won’t even get a chance to ask her out anymore.”

Inside the amusement park, the music was lively and bright, and laughter rang out everywhere.

Su Man put her phone back in her bag. When she looked up, she found Lu Yuwen watching her with a look of concern.

“Are you alright?” he asked, puzzled. “Who was calling?”

Su Man figured he must have caught something — Li Li really had been very loud just now.

“It’s nothing.” She managed a smile. “Spam call. Should we go to that themed restaurant you mentioned?”

——The reason they’d come to Disneyland today was that Lu Yuwen had mentioned a children’s themed restaurant inside — nothing special on the food, but the concept and operating model were worth studying. He’d wanted to come see the restaurant’s interior details for himself.

Lu Yuwen smiled and said, “Let’s do some rides first. Otherwise the crowds will get worse later, and since we’re here, we might as well have some fun — and pick up some souvenirs.”

Su Man nodded. “Sure. What do you want to try?”

“I want to try everything, but we probably don’t have time for all of it.” Lu Yuwen looked off into the distance. “Why don’t you pick a few?”

“Depends on how much you can handle — some of the rides are pretty intense.” Su Man looked around on both sides, then pointed in one direction. “The roller coaster line looks shorter over there. Want to try it?”

“Whatever you say.” Lu Yuwen smiled, looking at her. “You’re my tour guide today. I trust you completely.”

Su Man grinned at him. “If you get scared, make sure you scream out loud — screaming is how you release the pressure~”
