In this world there exist three types of extraordinary flowers, each, like the immortal medicines, possessing uniqueness — and all even more mysterious, with origins that were deeply astonishing.

The first was the Divine Demon Flower. When Xiao Budian was born, she had drawn upon its essence. It was the supreme treasure of the demon clan, blooming once every fifty thousand years.

The second was the Dao Harmony Flower — even more precious. It had only appeared once throughout all of antiquity. It was said that when it bloomed, standing in its presence at the moment of its first blossom could allow a person to harmonize with the Dao and become a Great Emperor.

One can imagine how extraordinary this flower was — it could nearly be called the world’s greatest treasure. Unfortunately it was far too rare, having only appeared once during the mythological age and never having been seen again.

Some speculated that it needed tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years before it could bloom again.

The third flower was equally astonishing in its origins, containing a breathtaking great secret. Only the Great Emperors of antiquity could truly appreciate it — this was the Divine Brilliance Flower, representing the ultimate extreme of beauty.

What lay within the rotten wooden box was one of these three extraordinary flowers.

Back in the day, when Ye Fan, Li Tian, and Yan Yixi were returning from the Purple Subtlety constellation to the Northern Dipper, they had found a rotten wooden box on an outer-domain battlefield — and within it was hidden the Divine Brilliance Flower.

When this flower withers, it transforms into a seed, then breaks through the heavens and departs, appearing in another realm. There is only one such flower in the entire world.

It was said to have fallen down from the immortal domain, becoming a supreme treasure within the mortal world.

In the past, the Divine Brilliance Flower had served as a deterrent weapon within the Heavenly Court, nearly brought out several times but ultimately retained each time. Now Ye Fan took it out, for it was no longer needed for that purpose — he had reached a level where he himself was sufficient to deter all things.

When the Divine Brilliance Flower blooms, only Great Emperors can appreciate it. Legend says it is the most beautiful spectacle in the world — so dazzlingly brilliant and beautiful that even emperors will be intoxicated by it, while ordinary people cannot safely behold it.

If those who are not emperors were to force themselves to watch, their primordial spirit might dissolve into a rain of light and they would ultimately walk toward self-destruction. Some say it may contain the laws of the immortal realm.

Ye Fan personally opened the rotten wooden box and planted this mysterious plant on the cliff of the Undying Mountain where he usually sat in closed retreat. In an instant, brilliant radiant light swayed and scattered.

He transmitted his voice through divine sense, calling only specific individuals — the monkey, the Man-Devil, the Old Madman, and similar figures. Only those capable of fighting against supreme beings were allowed to come; otherwise he feared serious problems would arise.

“Master, what is that?” Xiao Song blinked his large eyes and asked. Even after all these years, he remained with a child’s innocent heart — ethereal and pure.

“This is the most beautiful flower in the world. Once it blooms, it will intoxicate even Great Emperors. It is called the Divine Brilliance Flower. Today I invite everyone to witness a spectacle of ultimate beauty,” Ye Fan said with a smile.

He then let his smile fade and warned everyone: should they feel unwell at any point, they were not to force themselves — they should retreat quickly.

“Agreed!” The Man-Devil and the others answered readily and heartily. They were deeply eager to witness this divine bloom of legend, said to come from the immortal realm — across ten thousand ages, very few had truly seen it.

Ye Fan poured divine spring water upon the cliff of the Undying Mountain. The divine plant that had just broken free from the divine source immediately absorbed the vital energy of heaven and earth in a frenzy. Its leaves glimmered and sparkled with a crystalline light, possessing a captivating, enchanting quality — drawing directly from the void to absorb the vital energy of the great cosmos.

The flower bud trembled. Then suddenly, with a soft pop, one petal bloomed open. In that instant, a rain of brilliant light flooded across the sky, drowning the entire cliff. Had Ye Fan not laid down a great formation in advance, every person in the Heavenly Court would have seen this sight.

“This is…”

Everyone was shaken. Within that rain of brilliant light, the faint silhouettes of immortals appeared as if dancing — so mysterious it changed people’s expressions.

Not a single one was willing to miss it, watching that flower with unblinking eyes.

Pop!

Petal after petal bloomed open — achingly gorgeous, so beautiful it bewitched the heart and soul. Even those as powerful as those present felt their divine spirits move and their primordial souls grow unsteady, on the verge of leaving their bodies.

This was too astonishing, beyond all imagination. Strong as they were, they were nonetheless nearly lost within that fragrance and brilliant rain of light — as if they were moths drawn to flame, as if they wished to ascend together with it and then dissolve into the laws of heaven and earth.

When the last petal bloomed open, a beam of light from within the Heavenly Court shot into the heavens, piercing through the great cosmos. No one outside knew what was happening within — the entire outside world was struck with shock and wonder.

At this moment — to say nothing of Xiao Song and Xiao Tingting — even Ye Fan himself trembled bodily, revealing an expression of utter disbelief in his eyes.

Within that beautiful radiance that could intoxicate even Great Emperors, a corporeal immortal spirit flew out and began to dance, drawing the primordial souls of onlookers to fly toward her.

This was the pistil of the Divine Brilliance Flower — and it was actually in human form, only as tall as a fist, a vivid and lifelike tiny immortal spirit dancing atop the flower, rippling across the mortal world, awakening ten thousand ages of silence, stirring heaven and earth, cutting across the long river of time.

Half a day later, everyone present had retreated, one and all. They had savored that extreme beauty and perceived a vague impression of laws and trajectories. To continue watching would have caused their primordial souls to become unsteady.

On the cliff, only Ye Fan remained — and Xiao Nannan. One was a person who could truly slay ancient emperors; the other was pure and innocent, with origins that would shock the world. Only they could watch without restraint.

Xiao Nannan cupped her chin in her hands, blinking her large eyes. From beginning to end she remained completely clear-headed, entirely unmoved by this flower, accompanying Ye Fan as they watched together.

“If only Xiao Zi were here — this flower is truly so beautiful,” she said softly.

Ye Fan revealed a look of astonishment. He had assumed that in this world only he could watch at length without needing to retreat. He had never expected Xiao Nannan to be so strong — her clear, pure large eyes were filled with a look of pure appreciation, not the slightest bit enthralled.

He settled into stillness and began to slowly contemplate and absorb. The flower transformed before his eyes in that moment into fine threads of lines, the rain of light becoming blurred runes, pulling at the depths of his soul.

And so Ye Fan sat cross-legged, motionless. This single session of observation lasted a full ten years — contemplating, creating techniques, evolving the Dao. His whole being became ever more profoundly unfathomable.

During those ten years, Ye Tong and the others had come again from time to time as well, but none stayed for long before quickly departing.

Only Xiao Nannan remained at his side throughout, tireless, while Ye Fan comprehended the Dao and she sincerely and wholeheartedly appreciated the flower.

“Nannan feels like she’s seen this before — this flower feels somehow familiar,” the little girl said in her sweet, soft, gentle voice, with a hint of endearing simplicity.

Ye Fan’s heart shook greatly. This flower required at least one hundred thousand years between blooms before it could bloom again!

The Divine Brilliance Flower never withered. In the blink of an eye, a hundred years passed. It remained crystalline and glistening, its pistil like a soaring immortal. Contrary to legend, it did not wither after blooming.

More than a hundred years later, even Xiao Nannan had grown weary of looking at it and was led away by someone. Ye Fan remained alone in closed retreat there, until the flower truly withered at last and transformed into a single seed. Two hundred years had passed by the time he finally rose to his feet.

The seed was brilliant and resplendent, as large as a longan fruit. It broke open the void and prepared to fly away — but Ye Fan reached out and caught it, sealing it within a jade vial.

“To see it bloom again, one would have to wait ten thousand years. I should have no such opportunity.” Ye Fan laughed self-deprecatingly.

When he emerged from his closed retreat, the Heavenly Court was greatly shaken. Everyone felt that his eyes had grown far more profound, and though no one could say how much his divine power had increased, his cultivation had undoubtedly deepened immeasurably.

“Is the Battle-Victorious Buddha well?”

“His spirits are good, but he should not have many more years left.” The monkey answered calmly.

Ye Fan sighed. People grow old and eventually pass away — for those who do not ascend to immortality, this could ultimately not be changed. Though his divine arts surpassed all, he still had no means of prolonging another’s life for them.

“The Chaos Physique has appeared in the world again — someone has seen him moving through the star domains!”

Not long after Ye Fan emerged from his closed retreat, this news reached him. He was mildly startled, but said nothing further.

The Chaos Physique had reappeared. A surge of dark undercurrents rose throughout the entire cosmos. Now that Ye Fan was sovereign over all under heaven, who was worthy of standing against him? People debated endlessly.

Some held the view that Zhang Bairen might one day be able to contend with him.

The Chaos Physique’s return to the world instantly stirred the hearts of all. This was the mightiest bloodline across ten thousand ages. If anyone were to be sought as Ye Fan’s opponent, this was beyond question the strongest candidate!

No one in the world had expected that not long after Ye Fan emerged from closed retreat, he issued a divine decree — he would again level the Life Forbidden Zones, and with great fanfare!

This time, he wrote letters to Zhang Bairen, the Emperor Sovereign, Dao Yi, and every other person capable of battle, proposing that this campaign should eradicate at one stroke the great scourge of the mortal world and eliminate the source of chaos for the sake of all future generations.

The entire world erupted in an uproar. No one had expected him to be so direct — to make such a grand declaration of open war, without concealment, rallying the powerful fighters of the entire cosmos to move together.

“I share this intent!” The Golden Crow Great Emperor was the first to respond, personally coming to the Heavenly Court to campaign together with Ye Fan against the Life Forbidden Zones.

Zhang Bairen and the Emperor Sovereign both responded positively as well, agreeing to act in concert with Ye Fan. This time, they would kill their way into the Northern Dipper’s last remaining Life Forbidden Zones.

Several hundred years had passed since the last great campaign. These people’s cultivation had all advanced further still — every one of them filled with confidence and iron resolve.

In the Northern Dipper, the Primordial Ancient Mine, the Firmament, and the Immortal Mausoleum trembled with fury. What kind of age was this? The outside world had invaded repeatedly — completely unlike the past.

Throughout ten thousand ages, it had always been they who launched the dark chaos. But now it had been turned on its head — a reversal so great it was difficult to accept.

No one had expected Ye Fan’s single call to have such enormous influence. In just a few days, powerful fighters from every direction had signed up in droves, wanting to take part in this campaign.

“Undefeated in the cosmos, holding the supreme position under heaven — is the Holy Body Ye Fan truly going to walk the same road as the Barren Heaven Emperor and the Emperor Venerable?”

Every clan in the cosmos sighed at length. They felt that this age would witness miracles — that in the days ahead, earth-shaking and cosmos-stunning great events that would shake the entire history of antiquity were sure to come.

“Sovereign over all under heaven — geniuses from every direction come to lend their aid. The most glorious and resplendent of ages has arrived, surpassing even the mythological age!”

People throughout the mortal world all spoke of this.

In the Northern Dipper, an unspeakable oppressiveness reigned. Within the three great Forbidden Zones, terrifying auras circulated every day. Everyone outside speculated that a world-destroying great war was bound to erupt — that the Forbidden Zones were going to join forces.

Yet the final outcome confounded all expectations. The three great Forbidden Zones quietly and soundlessly vanished, one after another, departing the Northern Dipper without a trace.

“What?! Even the Forbidden Zones fear the Heavenly Court — they fear the Holy Body Ye Fan so deeply that they have fled the world like this?!”

The entire world was stunned!

“Such is the nature of hearts and minds at a critical juncture — they chose to preserve themselves. In the end, they could not unite.”

After their extreme ascension, they were all going to die. In this golden great age it was impossible for them to survive. The remaining ancient supreme beings were too few — not enough to fight a battle to the death.

“The Holy Body also had his misgivings, and deliberately did this — using his momentum to intimidate the three great Forbidden Zones, causing them to at last walk this road.”

“You can hide for a moment — can you hide forever?” Ye Fan said coldly. He made his move, leading a great army — including the Golden Crow Great Emperor, Zhang Bairen, Dao Yi, and others — and killed their way toward a certain domain.

The Battle-Victorious Buddha insisted on going along, for this might be the last battle of his life. He did not wish to die peacefully in the Divine Ruins — he hoped to fall in the most glorious of fashions.

In the end, the Primordial Ancient Mine Forbidden Zone and the Firmament disappeared from the world without being found. But Ye Fan’s forces located the Immortal Mausoleum and launched a world-shaking great decisive battle there.

Though the fighting was fierce, there was no suspense whatsoever. Ye Fan rolled through this Forbidden Zone and suppressed and slew the last two ancient emperors!

Upon returning, Ye Fan quietly infused a portion of the acquired ancient emperors’ blood into the Battle-Victorious Buddha’s body. The Battle-Victorious Buddha became aware of it and immediately moved to stop it — but this gave him another hundred years of life.

A hundred years passed in a flash. The world was at peace. Yet the old Battle-Victorious Buddha was approaching the end of his life.

And then on this day, Ye Fan suddenly received a letter of challenge — formed from Chaos Qi, its laws so astonishing they shook the world. When this letter flew in, it directly blasted open the Heavenly Court’s South Heavenly Gate!

The Chaos Physique was challenging the Holy Body. This news swept through the great cosmos like a thunderclap!
