There were foreigners in the country, of course — but after the world’s upheaval, everyone had scattered: hiding, fleeing, dispersed across various places. Yet here, in this one spot, this many foreigners had gathered.

Su Man and Lu Yuwen said nothing outwardly, but both simultaneously tensed their nerves, cautiously sizing up the people around them.

Those people were also watching the two of them.

But no one came forward to speak. People clustered in groups of three or five, each forming small factions, murmuring among themselves.

Su Man and Lu Yuwen continued further in, and finally discovered that this place wasn’t merely a gathering of “foreigners” — it was a gathering of people from all over the world.

Every skin tone, every manner of dress. They also spotted Asian faces.

What was going on?

Why was everyone gathered here? Could it be because of this so-called… Maze War?

As they stood there in confused astonishment, one of the white square tiles nearby suddenly lit up, and three people walked in through the glow — just like Su Man and Lu Yuwen when they had first arrived, all of them staring with wide-eyed shock.

These were three Black men. They looked around in surprise and asked: “What is this place? Hey! What’s going on?!”

From their lip movements it was clearly English — yet what Su Man and Lu Yuwen heard was a deep and resonant voice speaking Chinese!

Both were startled again, and exchanged a glance.

“Su Man?!”

A familiar male voice called out from somewhere in the distance.

Su Man followed the sound, growing even more astonished — she actually saw Yan Qingwen?!

And beside Yan Qingwen stood Shen Mo, Bai Youwei, Tan Xiao, and others — all people she knew!

Su Man was overjoyed and surprised, and immediately quickened her pace toward them. “Why are all of you here?!”

Yan Qingwen furrowed his brow and gave Lu Yuwen, who was behind her, a sizing-up look. “Who is he?”

“Oh! I forgot to introduce you all —” Su Man pulled Lu Yuwen forward and introduced him happily. “This is Lu Yuwen. I met him inside Maze No. 6. It’s a good thing he was there guiding the way — without him, I definitely would not have made it out!”

Then Su Man introduced her companions to Lu Yuwen.

“This is Yan Qingwen. This is Shen Mo. This is…” When she got to Bai Youwei, Su Man’s eyes curved up in a smile. She told Lu Yuwen, “This is Bai Youwei. See — I didn’t lie to you, did I?”

Lu Yuwen’s gaze fell directly on Bai Youwei’s legs.

He had thought Su Man was only saying it to comfort him. He hadn’t expected it to be true… But how could this be possible? With such limited mobility, how could she have cleared all those bizarre games?

Bai Youwei sat in her wheelchair, expressionlessly looking at Su Man. “Hey. Has this new friend of yours never seen a cripple before?”

Su Man burst out laughing: “Hahaha… Weiwei, don’t misunderstand — actually, he used to be a bit lame himself, so that’s why he’s staring at you like that!”

Bai Youwei shot a glance down at Lu Yuwen’s feet with a slight frown.

“His foot is healed now!” Su Man eagerly told Bai Youwei. “It turns out the maze can restore any injury — even old injuries can fully heal! Weiwei, you’ve entered the maze so many times now. Aren’t your legs almost better too?!”

Everyone looked at Bai Youwei.

Shen Mo also looked at her.

Bai Youwei: “…”

This was something she had never brought up with Shen Mo. Now that Su Man had suddenly blurted it out, she was immediately mortified…

“…Of — of course not!” Bai Youwei replied, flustered, with a hint of embarrassment. “His was just a lame foot. My two legs can’t move at all, you understand? It’s the same?!”

“I see.” Su Man nodded understandingly. “If you go into the maze one more time, you’ll definitely get better!”
