Long Aotian – Chapter 103

Qin Wanwan had a wonderful sleep. Just as dawn broke, she saw Jian Xingzhi sitting at her bedside, looking at her happily: “Wanwan, you’re awake?”

“You…”

Qin Wanwan looked at him in shock: “Do you get up this early?”

“I’ve already finished sword practice and bathed,” Jian Xingzhi skillfully pulled her up, wiped her face for her, pulled her to her feet and over to the wash basin, handing her the bristle toothbrush, salt powder, and water cup all together. He said happily, “I just talked to Cuilu. Today she’s taking us to see that Venerable Miaoyan. When we find an opportunity,” Jian Xingzhi pulled out a talisman from his sleeve, “we’ll test whether he’s a demon seed. As long as he is, we’ll have our reason to act.”

“And if he’s not?”

Qin Wanwan held the cup and toothbrush, staring at him blankly. Jian Xingzhi thought for a moment and frowned: “Then we can only act directly.”

“Then wouldn’t it be better for you to just act directly?” Qin Wanwan was still a bit groggy from sleep. “Why do you need to go in such circles?”

However, before Jian Xingzhi could speak, Qin Wanwan became clearheaded. She realized: “Oh, we still shouldn’t cause trouble for Sister Cuilu. We need a proper justification.”

With that, Qin Wanwan began brushing her teeth. Jian Xingzhi stood to the side and nodded: “Right, that’s what she said too. Wanwan, you’re so smart!”

Hearing his praise, Qin Wanwan felt somewhat uneasy. She secretly glanced at Jian Xingzhi, finished brushing her teeth and spat out the water. Jian Xingzhi immediately handed her a towel and continued discussing: “Once we take him down and rescue your parents, you can become the Immortal Alliance leader.”

“The Immortal Alliance is a matter of great importance.” Qin Wanwan walked with him to sit beside the bronze mirror. Hearing him speak so casually, she picked up a comb and circulated the Spring Life cultivation method. Where the comb passed through, the singed hair grew back.

As she combed, she sighed: “Let’s not go make trouble. We’ll just properly rescue my parents, retrieve the Linglong Jade, and ascend.”

“You becoming the alliance leader,” Jian Xingzhi observed her combing her hair for a while, feeling somewhat distracted. He pretended to casually reach out his hand and took the comb from her, condensing spiritual power at his fingertips. As he combed through her soft hair, even his voice became gentler: “That would be giving them face. What’s wrong with it?”

Qin Wanwan’s hair was very nice—smooth and cool when held in his hands.

Afraid of pulling too hard and hurting her, he controlled his strength carefully, looking seriously at each strand of hair, checking for both tangles and singed spots.

Qin Wanwan looked at the two of them in the mirror. Hearing his words, she couldn’t help but laugh: “When will you stop being so arrogant? What do you mean I’m giving them face? The Immortal Alliance leader should be an elite. I’ve been muddling through all along, relying on your help to mix in. How am I qualified?”

“If you’re going to put it that way, I can’t agree,” Jian Xingzhi said, satisfied with combing her hair properly. He took a hairpin from the side. “Who doesn’t have some opportunities on their cultivation path? Whether it’s me, Xie Gutang, or Cuilu and Mei Suihan—it’s all five parts heavenly fate and five parts effort. I’m your opportunity. How are you any different from them?”

As he spoke, Jian Xingzhi twisted the hairpin into Qin Wanwan’s hair and inserted it. Feeling something was wrong, he changed direction and inserted it again.

Qin Wanwan watched him fiddle with her hair for a long time and couldn’t help saying: “Why don’t I do it myself.”

“No,” Jian Xingzhi frowned and refused. “I must learn how to do this.”

With that, Jian Xingzhi called out 666 and exchanged for a book called “Secret Techniques of Hair Styling.” Following it for a long while, he finally managed to style Qin Wanwan’s hair into a simple bun.

By this time Qin Wanwan was nearly asleep again. It wasn’t until she felt Jian Xingzhi cup her face and attempt to draw her eyebrows that she suddenly woke up and quickly stood: “No need to draw them, no need! We still have to go find Venerable Miaoyan.”

Hearing this, Jian Xingzhi put down the eyebrow pencil with some regret and followed Qin Wanwan toward the dining hall in the guest courtyard.

When they reached the dining hall, Cuilu, Xie Gutang, and Nanfeng all looked over. Seeing Qin Wanwan’s head, Cuilu frowned: “Why is your head so big today?”

“You…” Jian Xingzhi was about to speak when Qin Wanwan stopped him and looked at Cuilu: “Big head means smart. It’s not important. Let’s hurry and eat, then go find Venerable Miaoyan.”

“Alright then.” Cuilu nodded. “I had someone go report it. We’ll go together, but I’m telling you upfront,” Cuilu warned with a glance at Jian Xingzhi, “You hold Jian Xingzhi back. Before we find a reason, at least don’t let him act while I’m present.”

After all, Cuilu represented Ghost City. Qin Wanwan understood this and nodded: “Don’t worry.”

After the group finished eating steamed buns, they went to find the Wuxiang Sect’s leader, Yuehu. After Cuilu exchanged pleasantries with Yuehu, she cut directly to the topic: “My purpose in coming was probably already mentioned by the attendants earlier. I have some information regarding the Linglong Jade that I need to discuss with the Venerable One. I trouble you to relay a message and let us meet with Venerable Miaoyan.”

Hearing this, Yuehu raised his eyes. His face was pale and his movements slow. The action of raising his eyes seemed somewhat eerie.

“The Venerable One is in seclusion,” Yuehu replied coldly. “He sees no one.”

“But…” Cuilu frowned. “This matter concerns the Linglong Jade.”

“He sees no one.”

Yuehu’s refusal was decisive. Cuilu’s smile froze on her face. In all these years, no one had refused her so directly, especially not in front of so many people.

But with things said to this point, there was no room for further discussion.

Cuilu gave a cold laugh, stood up and said: “Venerable Miaoyan certainly has airs. Then I won’t disturb you further. Farewell.”

With that, Cuilu led everyone rushing out. At the doorway, Xie Gutang stopped: “Sect Leader.”

Yuehu looked up to see Xie Gutang frowning: “Does your sect only have steamed buns and pickled vegetables?”

Yuehu’s movements paused. After a moment, he said calmly: “Then I’ll add an egg for you.”

Xie Gutang clasped his hands and left with Cuilu.

Cuilu was extremely annoyed and walked very quickly. Passing through a courtyard, she happened to see several servants eating and chatting. Their tables were full of meat. Cuilu immediately turned around, full of righteous indignation: “They’re doing this on purpose!”

No one spoke. Nanfeng asked in confusion: “Doing what on purpose?”

“Look,” Cuilu raised her hand and pointed at the table, saying angrily, “Even their servants eat meat, yet they give us steamed buns meal after meal. If this isn’t retaliation, isn’t discrimination and abuse, what is it?!”

“You’re right.”

Xie Gutang spoke coldly: “I also noticed this early on.”

“They actually deliberately make us eat steamed buns.” Nanfeng also became angry. “Too much!”

“From this we can see,” Jian Xingzhi analyzed seriously, “that Venerable Miaoyan must be Mei Suihan, deliberately retaliating against us!”

“Exactly.” Cuilu nodded. “This kind of person deserves to die!”

“Right,” Xie Gutang also agreed. “This person is undoubtedly the Evil God. If we kill him, we’re acting on behalf of heaven.”

“Um…”

Seeing this group of people filled with righteous indignation, Qin Wanwan couldn’t help speaking up: “Isn’t it too hasty of you all to deduce from steamed buns directly to the Evil God?”

“What else then?” Cuilu turned around. “What other reason is there for making us eat steamed buns?!”

Qin Wanwan said nothing. Watching a group of experts decide here to jointly punish the Evil God over food issues, she began to doubt her worldview.

“Forget it,” Qin Wanwan sighed. “Let’s go back first. Since we can’t see Mei Suihan right now, we need to discuss the next plan.”

“You all discuss.”

Jian Xingzhi, holding his sword, walked past them: “I’m going to wander around.”

With that, Jian Xingzhi turned past the corridor and disappeared from everyone’s view.

Qin Wanwan exchanged glances with the others, quite worried: “He… he won’t get into trouble, will he?”

“You should worry about other people getting into trouble.”

Cuilu reminded her, then touched her hair with some sadness: “Last night I lost so much of my feathers.”

Qin Wanwan didn’t dare ask what specifically happened last night. She could only return with everyone, discuss things briefly, and decide to first gather information and learn about Venerable Miaoyan’s specific habits and situation before making a decision.

After settling on this, Qin Wanwan had nothing else to do and returned to her room to cultivate and meditate.

Meanwhile, Jian Xingzhi wandered around the Wuxiang Sect for several circuits and confirmed Venerable Miaoyan’s residence.

As the Wuxiang Sect’s strongest ancestor-level figure, Venerable Miaoyan lived on a floating island above the sect’s mountain peak. Jian Xingzhi closed his eyes and briefly probed the island’s formation array with his divine sense, then immediately withdrew it before the other party could detect him.

Sensing his action, 666 immediately became vigilant: “Master, what are you doing?”

“What am I doing?”

Jian Xingzhi reviewed the formation array patterns he’d just seen in his mind, began calculating the weakest points, and lay down on a peach blossom tree, saying lazily: “Preparing to kill someone.”

“You—” 666 was so shocked she stuttered. “You’re just going to directly kill someone like that?”

“What else? Should I bathe and burn incense first?”

Jian Xingzhi found it strange: “Right now we can’t see him, so to kill him, shouldn’t I just go find him directly?”

666 was shocked by such direct thinking. After recovering for a moment, she said: “You… you’re not going to tell them?”

“Why would I tell them?” Jian Xingzhi, with his eyes closed, calculated the formation’s weakest point, somewhat impatiently. “If I tell Cuilu and Xie Gutang, then they’d be implicated. It’s best if they don’t know about my killing. Wanwan is timid and thinks about this and that—by the time she finishes overthinking, everyone would be dead already.”

“Besides,” Jian Xingzhi pillowed his hands behind his head and couldn’t help smiling, “Since being with me, I haven’t given her any decent gifts. Once I find her honorable father and mother-in-law, it can count as our wedding celebration.”

“You certainly recognize your relatives quickly…”

666 sighed but didn’t try to dissuade him.

Jian Xingzhi waited until evening. Moonlight fell on his face, and all around was silent. He changed back to Jian Zhiyan’s appearance, used a spell formula to conceal his form, leaped directly to a high place, reached the calculated position, raised his hand and bit his finger, condensed his divine sense into his blood, and sprinkled it directly onto the barrier.

Where the barrier touched his blood, it rippled like water. Jian Xingzhi leaped through the distorted part of the barrier and silently rolled onto the grass inside.

Seeing this scene, 666 couldn’t help but wonder: “Eh? Why doesn’t this barrier stop you?”

“Nonsense,” Jian Xingzhi stood up, concealing his form as he headed toward the palace in the distance, nimbly flipping over the surrounding wall. “If Venerable Miaoyan is Mei Suihan, and Mei Suihan is the soul lodged in Lin Yanzhi, then by making slight modifications to the formation he set up, the array won’t be able to distinguish between him and me.”

“So…” 666 reacted. “Venerable Miaoyan is Mei Suihan—confirmed!”

“Of course,” Jian Xingzhi arrived at the courtyard with his sword and stopped, observing the surroundings. He said coldly, “If Venerable Miaoyan weren’t Mei Suihan, wouldn’t killing him be committing evil? I must confirm first.”

“You’re suddenly so smart, I’m scared.”

Hearing Jian Xingzhi’s analysis, 666 couldn’t help raising her hand to cover her chest. Jian Xingzhi didn’t respond. He observed his surroundings.

The courtyard around him was empty and silent. Moonlight shone on white gravel, making the black circular stones among the gravel particularly conspicuous.

The wind blew, bamboo leaves rustling all around. Jian Xingzhi stared at the pitch-black hall, holding his sword without making a sound.

After a moment, a young voice came from the hall: “I was unaware of this distinguished guest’s visit. Please forgive my poor reception.”

The instant he spoke, lamps lit up row by row inside the hall. At the same time, Jian Xingzhi’s form instantly vanished, reappearing before the young man seated high on the golden throne in the hall, raising his sword to strike down directly!

His movements were too fast. The young man didn’t have time to say another sentence before being split in two by his sword!

The young man on the throne, cleaved into two sections, showed no change in expression and didn’t bleed. He raised his head—half his body sliding downward—smiled without moving, and only said: “This seat does not wish to fight.”

“I think you don’t dare.”

The instant those words ended, Jian Xingzhi’s form had already appeared behind a row of long lamps, his sword cleaving through the neck of a young man who was lighting lamps. Over a dozen young men identical to Venerable Miaoyan instantly appeared in the hall. The headless young man lit an extinguished lamp, his voice calm: “You should know I originally didn’t want to kill you.”

With that, the headless young man disappeared. Those dozen young men all drew their swords together. Jian Xingzhi saw silver threads on those young men’s bodies and spoke coldly: “Puppets?”

“What a pity. Later I discovered reasons I had to kill you.”

With that, the dozen young men formed a sword array and charged at Jian Xingzhi together. Jian Xingzhi leaped up, dodging their first combined strike, hearing Venerable Miaoyan’s voice coming from all around: “But now, I’ve discovered something very interesting.”

Jian Xingzhi remained calm. He struck his sword at the silver threads on the young men’s bodies. At the same time, his hands silently formed a tracking array, condensing his divine sense into it.

On the surface he fought these puppets, while secretly using the tracking array to search for the source of the similar soul.

The other party seemed not to notice his actions, only sighing: “I’ve always wondered, why not let your body come to this world? With your soul’s strength, that body should be very perfect, very strong, right? So why not come here directly to kill me and act on behalf of heaven?”

“You know who I am?”

Hearing his words, Jian Xingzhi asked back.

The tracking array went in all directions, searching through every room, every corner.

“But now I know.” The other party didn’t answer him at all, speaking to himself: “Wonderful. I’m truly curious—if you knew these things, would you really be as they imagine?”

The moment the words fell, the tracking array suddenly blazed brightly.

“Found you!”

Jian Xingzhi turned and swept his sword horizontally. Sword energy broke through layer after layer of walls. With a thunderous boom, Jian Xingzhi’s sword was already pointed before the young man on the golden throne.

The instant the sword arrived, the young man’s eyes widened in surprise. As the sword tip stopped before him, the fan in his hand blocked Jian Xingzhi’s sword with a “ding.”

“You’re stronger than I imagined.” The young man raised an eyebrow, then looked coldly: “However, since you’ve found this place—”

The instant the words fell, the fan in the young man’s hand transformed into a longsword. Vast spiritual power struck directly at Jian Xingzhi.

His movements were fast, but Jian Xingzhi’s were also extremely fast. However, his spiritual power was clearly much more abundant than Jian Xingzhi’s. After dozens of exchanges, Jian Xingzhi was struck and sent flying with a boom.

“It’s over, it’s over.” Seeing Jian Xingzhi struck back, 666 screamed. “He’s so strong! You’re finished! You’re going to die here!”

Jian Xingzhi said nothing. The young man twirled his longsword, holding it in one hand while forming hand seals with the other. Thunder gathered in the sky above. The young man’s lips curved: “You’ll stay here.”

Jian Xingzhi wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and propped himself up to stand, making 666 stop her screaming in his mind before looking up at the young man.

“Do you know what the biggest difference is between you and me?”

The young man tilted his head, then saw Jian Xingzhi grin: “I have a dao companion. You don’t.”

The instant the words ended, the young man’s expression changed drastically. Lightning bearing upper realm spell formulas and terrifying might descended from the sky. The young man raised his sword and struck at Jian Xingzhi. Jian Xingzhi raised his sword to block the sword intent while using his divine sense to track where the lightning came from.

Footsteps sounded outside. Yuehu’s urgent voice rang out: “Venerable One, what happened here?”

“Yuehu!” The young man commanded in shock and anger. “Kill him!”

With that, he transformed into a streak of light, fleeing into the distance pursued by the thunder.

Yuehu turned and saw Jian Xingzhi in Jian Zhiyan’s appearance. He had just barely withstood the young man’s strike. Yuehu formed hand seals with a talisman and charged at him rapidly.

Jian Xingzhi panted, hearing Qin Wanwan’s calm voice by his ear: “Jian Xingzhi, open a teleportation array.”

Without a word, he retreated rapidly and leaped out the window. The instant he flipped through the air, his hand turned and opened a teleportation array.

The instant the array opened, he saw magnolia flowers blooming perfectly on a branch and broke one off, falling into the spell formation.

Just as he fell, Yuehu’s spell formula arrived, striking his chest. He coughed up a mouthful of blood and fell into the array, emerging from the other end of the teleportation array.

The moment he landed, Qin Wanwan caught him, raised her hand to slap two pills into his mouth, and said calmly: “Let’s go.”

With that, she helped him walk toward her room. Jian Xingzhi leaned on her, smiling as he turned: “You opened that teleportation array well. You knew I got into trouble?”

“The twin-life talisman you placed in my body isn’t there for nothing. The moment you got injured I felt it,” Qin Wanwan saw him smiling smugly and gritted her teeth. “You calculated this, didn’t you?”

As Qin Wanwan spoke, she kicked the room door open and helped him lie down on the bed, cursing under her breath: “Next time you act so recklessly again, I’ll never…”

Before she finished speaking, she saw the young man reclining on the bed, holding out a magnolia branch.

Qin Wanwan froze. Jian Xingzhi looked up at her, smiling quite smugly: “I saw it looked nice just now and broke it off casually. Do you like it?”

Qin Wanwan was momentarily speechless. Footsteps sounded outside. Qin Wanwan quickly lowered the bed curtain as originally planned, took off her shoes and climbed up, then began pulling at Jian Xingzhi’s clothes.

Jian Xingzhi was so frightened he grabbed her hands, nervously saying: “What are you doing?”

“Opening a teleportation array will cause spiritual power fluctuations, so I deliberately set it up in the center of the guest courtyard. They won’t need long to search here. Both you and I need alibis.”

Qin Wanwan spoke extremely quickly. Taking advantage of Jian Xingzhi’s daze, she straddled him, lowered her eyes, pretended to be calm as she undid his belt, then removed her outer robe and raised her hand to remove her hairpin.

Black hair cascaded down like a waterfall. Jian Xingzhi stared at her blankly. Seeing him staring straight at her, Qin Wanwan finally couldn’t take it anymore. She turned over and hid under the covers, grabbed his hand, and before Jian Xingzhi could react, transferred all his injuries onto herself.

By the time Jian Xingzhi noticed her action it was too late. He hurriedly said: “Don’t…”

“It’s fine.”

Qin Wanwan had already finished by the time he spoke, quickly withdrew her hand, buried herself completely under the blanket, and said in a muffled voice: “You take off your clothes. There’s an outer robe I prepared on the bed. Change into it and go out in a bit.”

Jian Xingzhi couldn’t see her face. Hearing her voice and feeling her presence nearby, he felt somewhat nervous and only responded lowly: “Mm.”

Outside came the sound of room searches. Guards excitedly pounded on the door: “Come out! Come out!”

Jian Xingzhi jolted, quickly threw off the blanket and, with his back to Qin Wanwan, removed his clothes and put on the outer robe Qin Wanwan had prepared.

What Qin Wanwan had prepared was just a white inner shirt. Jian Xingzhi hurriedly put it on and was grabbed by Qin Wanwan.

Jian Xingzhi turned back to see Qin Wanwan with her hair down, wearing only a single shirt. She pulled open his clothes, exposing a large expanse of his chest, then before Jian Xingzhi could react, leaned up against him and left several red marks on his chest and neck. Finally, she bit his lips, making them look very full and flushed.

After doing all this, she quickly retreated under the covers and said in a low voice: “Go.”

Jian Xingzhi couldn’t process what happened. His heart raced wildly until the guards’ fierce knocking came from the door: “Come out! Come out quickly!”

Only then did Jian Xingzhi jolt, instantly transforming panic into anger, rushing to the door and yanking it open.

Divine Transformation Stage pressure descended overwhelmingly, forcing the people at the door to their knees. Jian Xingzhi looked coldly at the guard standing before him, now much shorter, and said coldly: “What do you want?”

People nearby saw him emerge from Qin Wanwan’s room and all looked over. Seeing his hair hanging loose, clothes disheveled, exposing a large expanse of chest dotted with red marks, everyone gasped and quickly turned their heads away.

Jian Xingzhi stared coldly at the guard before him. Under his pressure, the guard couldn’t speak. After a moment, Yuehu led people into the courtyard. Seeing Jian Xingzhi’s condition, he tried to remain calm under Jian Xingzhi’s pressure: “The sect’s disciples are just performing routine duties. We’ve disturbed Daoist Jian. I hope Daoist Jian will withdraw his pressure and not trouble the juniors.”

“If I don’t trouble them, should I trouble you?”

Jian Xingzhi turned to look at Yuehu. Yuehu’s expression was calm: “If Daoist Jian dares.”

The words had barely fallen when Yuehu felt an indescribable pressure—impossible to determine what cultivation level it came from—descend from the top of his skull, forcing him to kneel hard on the ground, shattering the blue stone tiles beneath.

Jian Xingzhi looked down at Yuehu and spoke calmly: “What wouldn’t I dare?”

Under the pressure Yuehu couldn’t move. No one else dared make a sound. Yuehu gritted his teeth and shouted angrily: “Jian Xingzhi! Don’t go too far!”

“I was sleeping peacefully in the middle of the night, and you came to search my room for no reason, then ask me if I dare. You tell me who’s going too far?”

Jian Xingzhi’s voice was cold: “I don’t see you searching Luo Xingzhou’s courtyard next door like this. You’re just taking us for easy targets. You don’t give me face, yet you still want me to give you face?”

Yuehu couldn’t move. He tried several times but couldn’t struggle free under Jian Xingzhi’s pressure. Experiencing how vast the gap was between them, he finally yielded: “Daoist Jian has misunderstood. Tonight was not intentional disturbance. An assassin attacked our sect’s ancestor. I pursued the assassin’s teleportation array to this location. It was not intentional intrusion.”

“You suspect I’m the assassin?” Jian Xingzhi raised an eyebrow.

Yuehu’s voice was steady: “Everyone is a possibility. May I ask where Daoist Jian was just now?”

“Right here.”

“Who can testify?”

Hearing this, Jian Xingzhi laughed. He leaned against the doorframe, deliberately exposing the red marks on his chest and neck, and asked back: “Sect Leader Yue, whose room is this?”

Yuehu seemed somewhat confused. An attendant beside him whispered in his ear. Yuehu’s expression changed slightly. He seemed somewhat embarrassed and only said: “Then… where is Miss Qin?”

“What do you think?” Jian Xingzhi stood guard at the door and asked him back.

Yuehu thought for a moment and gritted his teeth: “I must ask to see Miss Qin. The criminal was struck by my spell formula and injured. One look will tell.”

“How dare you!” Seeing him insist on meeting her, Jian Xingzhi instantly flew into a rage.

Qin Wanwan heard people arguing outside. After thinking, she cleared her throat softly, pinched her voice, and pretended to be weak: “Xingzhi, let them in.”

This voice made everyone present feel awkward. Yuehu exchanged glances with those beside him and said respectfully: “May I ask if Miss Qin can come out?”

Qin Wanwan fell silent. After a moment, she could only ask back weakly like Jian Xingzhi: “What do you think?”

Yuehu was speechless. Standing at the door in a difficult position, Jian Xingzhi looked at him coldly, completely projecting an attitude that if he dared agree he would kill him. After much thought, that assassin earlier had been completely dressed as a man. Yuehu finally made his decision and said through gritted teeth: “I trust Miss Qin. We’ve disturbed everyone!”

With that, he turned and led the others: “Let’s go!”

The group came in great force and left in disarray.

After they left, Cuilu was the first to rush forward, wanting to reach out and touch the red marks on Jian Xingzhi’s body. Jian Xingzhi slapped her hand away, pulled his clothes closed, and said warily: “Don’t touch me.”

“This…” Cuilu observed his neck, looked for a moment, then confirmed: “This wasn’t pinched out, was it?”

Hearing this, Nanfeng and Xie Gutang couldn’t help moving a bit closer.

Jian Xingzhi pulled his clothes even tighter, saying nervously: “Go to sleep, all of you!”

With that, he rushed into the room and closed the door.

He stood at the door for a moment, letting his heartbeat steady somewhat, then walked back to the bedside, sat on the edge of the bed, and said awkwardly: “Um… they’ve left.”

Qin Wanwan still had her head buried under the covers. Jian Xingzhi hesitated for a moment, worried Qin Wanwan might suffocate herself, and nervously reached out to pull the covers back for her.

When the covers were pulled back, he saw the young woman curled up on the bed with a magnolia branch in her arms, her face flushed.

Her long hair was spread behind her. She wore only a white inner shirt. The shirt and her pale skin seemed almost to merge in the moonlight, contrasting beautifully with her black hair.

Jian Xingzhi stared blankly, frozen in place. Qin Wanwan lowered her eyes and didn’t speak.

After a long time, Jian Xingzhi finally turned around, sat on the edge of the bed with his back to her, and pretended to be calm: “Um… I found the specific location of your parents.”

“Mm.”

Qin Wanwan hugged the flower, looking toward the inside of the bed, responding lowly.

Jian Xingzhi was somewhat nervous: “I… I’ve never given you anything decent. Consider this a gift from me, so I didn’t tell you beforehand.”

“I know.” Qin Wanwan’s voice was very small, like a cat’s scratch, lightly tickling his heart, making him involuntarily feel some other desires.

He felt ashamed of this in his heart and couldn’t help lowering his head, speaking softly: “So… that flower, do you like it?”

“I like it.”

Qin Wanwan responded.

Jian Xingzhi thought for a moment, hesitantly turned around, bent down, leaned close to her ear, and spoke with some nervousness: “Wanwan.”

His breath brushed against her earlobe. His voice was very small, as if he’d done something wrong and was afraid of being discovered: “Can I… can I kiss you?”

**Author’s Note:**

**[Mini Theater]**

Qin Wanwan: “I really like your flower. You can make one very excessive request.”

Jian Xingzhi: “Then my request might be especially excessive.”

Qin Wanwan: “Make it!”

Jian Xingzhi: “Really especially especially excessive.”

Qin Wanwan: “Say it!”

Jian Xingzhi: “I… I want to kiss you. Is that okay?”

Qin Wanwan: “…”

Jian Xingzhi, truly a pure-hearted fierce man.
