Xi Ju Nv Shen – Chapter 67

Lu Sui didn’t return to the room until the early morning hours. Wu Mangmang closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep, but unexpectedly, after Lu Sui showered and got into bed, he kissed along her spine all the way down to her tailbone, the warm breath from his nose causing a tingling sensation to shoot up from the soles of Wu Mangmang’s feet.

She loved his kisses, gentle yet passionate, giving Wu Mangmang the illusion that she was a delicious and charming mousse cake, so needed and cherished by Lu Sui.

However, Wu Mangmang clearly wasn’t in the mood to accommodate Lu Sui tonight.

But Lu Sui’s patience and stamina were both exceptional. Even though Wu Mangmang was ten thousand times unwilling, she ultimately couldn’t help but wrap her legs around his waist.

In the morning, Wu Mangmang’s spirits were relatively good, because last night Lu Sui had only gently tormented her once, which was extraordinarily merciful of him.

“Come with me to the hospital to see Aunt after breakfast,” Lu Sui said, putting down his coffee cup.

Wu Mangmang was greatly shocked. “What happened to Aunt?”

Yesterday Lu Jianan’s voice had sounded full of vigor, hadn’t it?

“She seems to have some heart problems. She was admitted to the hospital for tests last night,” Lu Sui said.

Wu Mangmang held her milk glass and lowered her head, knowing that Lu Jianan must have been angered into illness by Lu Sui, though of course the real culprit was herself.

“Aunt’s health seemed fine, didn’t it? How could she suddenly be hospitalized?” Wu Mangmang probed Lu Sui.

“Her heart problems were discovered during her examination before New Year’s. She should have been hospitalized for treatment long ago,” Lu Sui said calmly. If Wu Mangmang hadn’t eavesdropped on his conversation with Lu Jianan, seeing Lu Sui so composed, she definitely wouldn’t have connected it to him.

Wu Mangmang rotated her milk glass, feeling that Lu Jianan probably wouldn’t want to see her, and if it was detrimental to her condition, that would be terrible.

But Lu Sui couldn’t have failed to consider this issue. Since he had brought it up, Wu Mangmang could only steel herself and go to the hospital.

When entering the ward, Wu Mangmang wished she could hide completely behind Lu Sui’s back to avoid hurting Lu Jianan’s eyes.

Of course, this was just wishful thinking.

Lu Jianan had no children, and her husband was a very busy man. At this moment, she was alone in the ward with two assistants reporting work beside her. When she saw Lu Sui enter, Lu Jianan dismissed all the unnecessary people.

Wu Mangmang kept her head down, not daring to look into Lu Jianan’s eyes, but heard Lu Jianan ask, “Mangmang, are you feeling better?”

Wu Mangmang raised her head and said, “I’m already better, Aunt. I don’t need IV drips today.”

Lu Jianan smiled and nodded, “Your body seems a bit weak, you catch colds frequently. You should find an old Chinese medicine doctor to regulate your health.”

“Thank you, Aunt. I will.”

The atmosphere in the ward was very harmonious, making even Wu Mangmang doubt whether she had heard wrong last night, or if that conversation was just her imagination.

This was Lu Jianan’s capability – no matter how much she disliked someone in her heart, she could always maintain perfect appearances on the surface.

When Lu Sui sat by the bed asking about Lu Jianan’s condition and called the doctor for detailed inquiries, Wu Mangmang sat bored on the sofa and casually picked up an apple from the fruit basket to peel.

When peeling the first one, the apple skin broke at one-third. Wu Mangmang set the apple aside and took another one, but this one also broke while peeling.

By the fifth apple, Wu Mangmang finally managed to peel out a complete, white apple without breaking the skin, holding it in her hands unsure of what to do.

“Would Aunt like to eat an apple? Mangmang just peeled it,” Lu Sui’s words timely rescued Wu Mangmang from her embarrassing apple situation.

Wu Mangmang found a fruit plate, cut the apple into small pieces, placed a small fork beside it, and handed it to Lu Sui with both hands.

Lu Jianan symbolically ate a small bite, while Lu Sui slowly and leisurely finished the entire apple.

After visiting the patient, Lu Sui had Wu Mangmang get a full body checkup at the hospital while they were there, with blood tests scheduled for the next morning.

After completing the checkup, it was already afternoon. On the way back to the Lu residence, Wu Mangmang received a call from Warm Sun, who excitedly told her the game had been updated with Dragon Boat Festival activities, urging her to hurry and make rice dumplings for rewards.

Actually, only Warm Sun was excited on the phone. Wu Mangmang was covering the receiver, nervously afraid that Lu Sui sitting beside her would hear Warm Sun’s words.

Warm Sun asked Wu Mangmang over the phone, “If you don’t have time to log on, give me your account. I’ll log in for you and do the quests.”

Wu Mangmang firmly refused. She didn’t like others touching her game account – it gave her a feeling of privacy invasion.

After Wu Mangmang hung up, she stole a glance at Lu Sui and, seeing no unusual reaction from him, breathed a sigh of relief, feeling very fortunate.

However, Wu Mangmang wasn’t as lucky that evening as she had been yesterday. At nine o’clock sharp, she was pulled to bed and tormented until midnight before being allowed to rest.

Her body was extremely tired, but her spirit was unusually excited. Wu Mangmang stared at the ceiling with wide eyes, and when Lu Sui’s breathing became even and deep, she tiptoed out of bed and went to her own bedroom across the hall to turn on the computer.

Recently, Wu Mangmang had been playing games quite intensely. Although she knew this was wasting time, she just couldn’t suppress the desire in her heart.

However, Wu Mangmang’s preferences in the game had begun to change. Previously, she enjoyed doing quests and dungeons, but now she preferred PVP – that is, fighting with other players in the game, competing in martial arts.

What Wu Mangmang found most thrilling was joining a faction and going to the enemy faction’s territory to wreak havoc.

Two fists can’t fight four hands. Although Wu Mangmang had excellent equipment, she couldn’t withstand the enemy organizing a group to hunt her down.

So she died again and again.

But that didn’t matter. Miss Wu was now very well-off financially, with plenty left over from selling the Ferrari.

In the game, instant revival with full health and mana cost ninety-nine yuan each time – usually no idiot would use this function.

Wu Mangmang kept dying and reviving, going on killing sprees.

In the game, people from the enemy faction had started broadcasting on the world channel, saying that a rich idiot had come to White Water River (the enemy faction’s territory), killed countless of their people, and calling for all faction teammates to come to White Water River to kill Wu Mangmang.

Wu Mangmang’s faction naturally came to worship the wealthy player, and this battle became a bloodbath.

Both factions saw red. Due to Wu Mangmang’s persistence, everyone couldn’t afford to mess with this pay-to-win player. Ultimately, Wu Mangmang’s faction achieved a great victory, killing the enemy so thoroughly they didn’t dare to revive.

After this battle, Wu Mangmang’s kill count against the enemy faction broke the system record, ranking first and leaving the second place behind by an order of magnitude. She also received the system-awarded title of “Great Demon King.”

Because she was too excited from the killing, when Wu Mangmang looked up, dawn was already breaking. Her heart jumped in alarm, and she quickly put away the computer and silently slipped back to bed, fortunately without waking Lu Sui.

Since she couldn’t eat in the morning, Wu Mangmang went to the hospital early for blood tests. Thanks to VIP service, Wu Mangmang got her physical examination results at noon.

Everything was fine.

Wu Mangmang pouted at Lu Sui, “I told you there was nothing wrong, just caught a few colds occasionally. I heard that catching colds frequently actually strengthens the immune system.”

After a whole day of running around, plus staying up late last night, Wu Mangmang fell asleep in the car and woke up when it was dinner time.

The first thing she did was naturally to open the game client – dinner was just a fleeting cloud.

However, to Wu Mangmang’s great shock, all her equipment and warehouse had been completely cleaned out. She was now wearing nothing but a set of green underwear.

Countless silver coins and a super account built over several years suddenly became nothing. Even gods would be furious.

Wu Mangmang immediately called the game’s customer service, saying her account had been hacked and demanding that the game company restore her data quickly.

The customer service representative’s response was that her account hadn’t been hacked, but that she had deleted the equipment and warehouse herself. The query results showed that her last login IP was the same IP she had always used.

Upon hearing this result, Wu Mangmang swept downstairs like a tornado.

Lu Sui was sitting at the dining table, while Annie had followed Wu Mangmang downstairs – she had originally gone upstairs to invite Wu Mangmang down for dinner.

Wu Mangmang rushed up to Lu Sui, “Lu Sui, what right did you have to delete my equipment?”

Hearing this, Lu Sui merely put down his utensils, dabbed his mouth with a napkin, and looked up at Wu Mangmang without speaking.

Actually, Lu Sui had originally wanted to simply delete Wu Mangmang’s game character, but unexpectedly, Wu Mangmang used her real name even in the game, also calling herself Mangmang. In the end, Lu Sui chose to spend more time deleting only all of Wu Mangmang’s equipment and warehouse contents.

Wu Mangmang was furious beyond reason.

Others couldn’t understand the rage in her heart, but Mangmang in the game was like another version of herself to the real Wu Mangmang. She had cultivated and crafted Mangmang to perfection, everything was the best and most beautiful.

Wu Mangmang even had the illusion that this was another version of herself, living in another parallel space.

A perfect shell that could shield her from all the troubles outside.

But at this moment, she had lost even her last completely private sanctuary, making Wu Mangmang unable to tolerate it anymore. She didn’t understand why Lu Sui kept pressuring her, always forcing her to do things she didn’t want to do under the banner of being good for her.

She had already been very obedient and had seriously tried to learn.

But Wu Mangmang had grown up in the free and casual Wu family, not in the elegant and noble Lu family where refinement was ingrained in their bones.

She was like trying to paint a tiger – she could paint the skin but not the bones. The things in one’s bones couldn’t be changed.

Wu Mangmang trembled with anger, while Lu Sui only said calmly, “You spend too much time on virtual games, even neglecting your health. If you could restrain yourself, I wouldn’t have deleted your equipment. This is just a small lesson. If you can limit your daily gaming time to no more than one hour, I can have your data restored.”

Wu Mangmang bit her lip and said nothing.

“Sit down and eat,” Lu Sui indicated the dining chair with his chin.

Every time it was like this – Wu Mangmang was always the one being unreasonable, while Lu Sui was the one who made the final decisions.

Wu Mangmang felt somewhat powerless, as if no matter how much she fussed, she couldn’t escape Lu Sui’s control. With one word, he could delete everything, and with another word, he could restore it.

It didn’t seem like a very serious matter, but it was enough to demonstrate his control.

Wu Mangmang sat down in the dining chair, not looking at Lu Sui, just staring straight ahead, and said in a calm tone, “I want to break up.”
