Chapter 1447: Feng Clan Arc: Like a Scoundrel

Tang Xiaohua threw the short blade away, tossing it quite far.

Just as Yue Jianfei had said, she had never been willing to hurt him—even if there were a chance to hurt him, she would never let such an opportunity arise.

Tang Xiaohua threw away the blade, pressed both hands against Yue Jianfei’s chest, and pushed hard.

This time, Yue Jianfei couldn’t hold onto Tang Xiaohua, and was forced back two steps.

The man, his face full of guilt, had just steadied himself when he continued forward: “Xiaohua.”

Tang Xiaohua glared at Yue Jianfei and warned in a low voice, “Don’t come closer. Stand there and talk properly!”

Yue Jianfei pressed his lips together and, having just taken half a step forward, stopped.

“Xiaohua, I know that during this time I’ve neglected you. It’s my fault! I shouldn’t have believed what others said, I shouldn’t have!”

“But with my father in this condition, I was truly worried! I was only thinking about my father’s affairs, and I neglected you, neglected the feelings between us. That was wrong of me!”

“Xiaohua, you can…”

“Shut up!” Tang Xiaohua glared at Yue Jianfei and gave a cold snort.

Yue Jianfei immediately closed his thin lips, blinking his deep, spirited eyes, meeting Tang Xiaohua’s gaze.

Tang Xiaohua took a deep breath, reached out, and pointed at him: “Tell me! Exactly how far did things go between you and that woman?”

“Speak quickly! Did you do anything you shouldn’t have done to me? Is your body still clean, or not?”

Saying Xiaohua was a heroine among women was no exaggeration.

For a wife to question her husband on such a matter—especially in ancient times—was truly a rare occurrence.

And when Tang Xiaohua questioned Yue Jianfei, the most formidable man in Yue City, about such a matter, her voice was forceful and resolute, her attitude utterly firm.

Perhaps this was the best illustration that love allows not even a single grain of sand.

As for Xiaohua, she would rather give up everything than live in suppressed misery.

Watching Xiaohua like this, Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao both felt a measure of admiration in their hearts.

Xiao Yingtao especially, having lived for a long time in a country where men were valued over women, had rarely seen a heroic woman like Tang Xiaohua.

“Clean.” Yue Jianfei responded with some anxiety, “Xiaohua, nothing at all happened between Yang Hong and me.”

“Even when we went out together, it was for my father’s treatment. I swear, I truly haven’t done anything to wrong you.”

Yue Jianfei, a man of considerable accomplishment, now stood before his own wife with not a shred of authority left.

It seemed that, in his eyes, earning his wife’s forgiveness mattered more than anything else.

“Is that true?” Tang Xiaohua furrowed her brow and asked.

“Xiaohua, believe me, I truly haven’t.” Yue Jianfei shook his head. “You saw it yourself just now.”

“If I had known earlier that Yang Hong had such intentions, I would have driven her away long ago.”

“Just now, watching from outside, you certainly didn’t dare act—how was I to know what you’d do when I wasn’t there?” Tang Xiaohua cut off Yue Jianfei’s words coldly.

“You men are all greedy and tire of the old! Besides, that woman is younger than my own daughter—who doesn’t like someone young?”

Tang Xiaohua gave a cold snort, turned, and continued walking inward.

Compared to the young and beautiful Yang Hong, it was only natural that Tang Xiaohua lacked confidence.

What’s more, the fact that her own man would rather believe other women than believe her left Tang Xiaohua still feeling deeply wronged.

“Xiaohua.” Yue Jianfei bent down to pick up the short blade from the ground and chased after her.

“Believe me, I don’t like Yang Hong. The reason we went out together so often during this time was all for the old master’s illness.”

“Xiaohua.” Yue Jianfei caught up to Tang Xiaohua and again gripped her arm tightly.

“Xiaohua, what will it take for you to forgive me? You can hit me, scold me, whatever you like—just don’t ignore me. I truly know I was wrong.”

The moment the words fell, Yue Jianfei pulled Tang Xiaohua into his embrace.

Not far away, the two heads hiding behind the pillars retracted at the same time.

Tang Xiaohua was soft-hearted at heart, and being held by Yue Jianfei, much of her anger instantly dissipated—but she still didn’t want to easily let the man behind her off the hook.

“Let go of me!” Tang Xiaohua’s voice was icy, carrying a warning.

“I won’t!” Yue Jianfei held the woman in his arms tightly, like a child, like a scoundrel.

How imposing was Master Yue in Yue City? In Yue City, there were few who didn’t know him.

Yet now, he had completely lost the bearing he should have had.

“Xiaohua, forgive me.” Yue Jianfei gently turned Tang Xiaohua around.

Tang Xiaohua gave a cold snort and shook hard, but was still turned around.

Tang Xiaohua was quite tall, yet Yue Jianfei was still taller than her by more than half a head.

Yue Jianfei leaned down to look at Tang Xiaohua, his authority gone, leaving only tenderness: “How about this—why don’t we have a contest?”

“I’ll give you a head start with both hands, how about that?”

Tang Xiaohua frowned and said indignantly, “Does your Xiaohua need you to go easy?”

“I’m doing it willingly.” Yue Jianfei handed the short blade back to Tang Xiaohua.

“Xiaohua, as long as you forgive me, you could carve out my heart and I’d have no complaints.”

Yue Jianfei’s arms tightened around Tang Xiaohua a little more.

“Xiaohua, come back. My place without you is like an ice cave. Or, I could move over to your place instead—what do you think?”

Hidden off to the side, Xiao Yingtao, hearing the sweet murmurings not far off, finally couldn’t help coughing softly.

Feng Jiu’er glanced sideways at her, the corner of her mouth carrying a pleased smile.

Everyone had known each other for such a short time, but for some reason, Feng Jiu’er always felt as though she had known Tang Xiaohua for a very long time.

Perhaps this was fate.

Now, seeing Tang Xiaohua finally get what she wanted, Feng Jiu’er felt just as pleased as Xiao Yingtao.

Xiao Yingtao stole a glance outside, made sure she hadn’t disturbed the loving couple, and finally relaxed and withdrew her gaze.

“Jiu’er, I really didn’t expect Master Yue to have such a gentle side.”

“When you and Ninth… cough, when you and the Sect Leader are together, is he also this gentle?”

Feng Jiu’er shot Xiao Yingtao a sidelong glance, frowning slightly.

This girl—knowing full well that Xiaohua and Master Yue could both hear her, and she still dared to say such things.

“Why are you glaring at me? I just wanted to know.” Xiao Yingtao continued speaking, unconcerned about affecting others.

“Master Yue is so gentle, no wonder Xiaohua is so devoted to him.”

“Who’s devoted to this fellow?” Tang Xiaohua took the short blade in one hand and pushed the man embracing her away with the other.

“If I’m willing to forgive you, does that mean you’ll do anything I ask?”

“Yes.” Yue Jianfei steadied his stance and nodded in response.

“Good.” Tang Xiaohua took a deep breath, nodded, turned, and looked at the two pillars not far away.

“You two, come out and walk with me.”

Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao leaned out from behind the pillars, one on each side, appearing before Tang Xiaohua.

The two blinked, said nothing, and stepped forward to walk along.

Tang Xiaohua waved her hand and walked outward together with the two young women.
