Chapter 1331: The Bloodline Key

Inside the second small jade vial, golden radiance and brilliant crimson shot forth together — breathtakingly beautiful, sacred and otherworldly.

It was actually gold and vivid red blood coexisting together, fused into dazzling rays of light that illuminated an eternal divine halo all around.

Holding it in one’s hand felt like standing beneath the boundless heavens, transformed into an Immortal King draped in all manner of immortal radiance, divine halos adorning one’s body, becoming the supreme sovereign across all nine heavens and ten lands.

It was extraordinarily peculiar — the small jade vial stood no taller than a thumb, yet it radiated such immortal light in all directions, its aura vast and majestic, like a true invincible holy physique awakening in the flesh.

The golden radiance flickered and caused the blood within Ye Fan’s body to surge with even greater ferocity, while that vivid crimson light filled him with an inexplicable sense of awe.

This small jade vial surpassed even the first — it was absolutely a priceless divine treasure!

Beyond that, there was still a third small jade vial. Inside its crystalline body was a vibrant red, neither harsh nor blinding, without ten thousand rays of divine brilliance — calm, peaceful, and serene.

The small jade vial sparkled with clarity, the liquid within plainly visible. This was the only blood that emitted no light, returning to simplicity, radiating an aura that drew people close.

Within the vial, the vivid red blood released no powerful fluctuations, nor any startling vital energy, yet holding it in one’s hand left one feeling mentally and physically serene.

Moreover, the crimson liquid gathered together had formed the shape of a person — like a thumb-sized immortal elixir figure, warm and luminous.

The third small jade vial was undoubtedly the most extraordinary of all, yet no particular power could be sensed from it. No matter how one examined it, it remained tranquil and peaceful, with no immortal rays shooting in all directions.

A return to the original and genuine!

These four words rose in Ye Fan’s heart. The Holy Physique pursues the realm of perfect completion — at that stage, the blood would transform into this form, shedding all golden radiance, becoming this very shade of vivid crimson.

No matter how potent the first two bloods were, no matter how startling their fluctuations, the moment Ye Fan grasped the third small jade vial, he immediately grew still.

The restless golden blood within him, which had been surging like a great river, became at this instant as calm as undisturbed water, as though he had been transported to a serene mountain valley.

All three small jade vials had been left behind by the Holy Physique ancestor — a legacy transcending ages, representing a power capable of breaking the shackles of heaven and earth!

Each small jade vial was priceless. If word were to leak out, it would certainly cause people to crack their skulls fighting over them, triggering a tremendous upheaval.

The Guide, Zhao Gongyi, sighed with emotion: “The three vials contain a mighty power that can allow the Holy Physique to break through, unlock the confines of heaven and earth, and forge a brilliant new era!”

These were undoubtedly the purest essence of blood — the finest distillation of undying divinity, the most precious things within the entire blood of the Holy Physique. Who could have imagined they had actually been refined out?

Without question, the most precious and rare of all was the third small jade vial — it held the ultimate blood of the Holy Physique. Legend spoke of its supreme divine effects: indestructibility, the opening of heaven and earth, and other supreme powers beyond imagination.

The blood inside had taken human form, its features distinct — eyebrows, eyes, even individual strands of hair all clearly defined. Looking carefully, one could perceive a supreme and majestic dignity about it, intimidating without anger.

It was unmistakably the Holy Physique himself. That he had refined such a small vial of divine blood essence from his own body — one could not fathom how much of his fundamental source it had consumed. It must have been a staggering amount.

As for the golden blood and the fused blood radiating dual-colored immortal rays — these served as catalysts, drawing one step by step, gradually closer to the final indestructible holy blood.

This was left for posterity. At first, one certainly could not consume that human-shaped vivid red blood. One had to begin with the golden blood, and only after one’s strength had reached a certain level could one take the dual-colored divine blood — there was a process to it.

“All of this was refined by the Holy Physique ancestor from within his own body. Not only does it contain the essence of his fundamental source, but within it are also fragments of his Great Dao, embodying his laws — profound beyond measure, a legacy passed down across generations,” said the Guide.

The human-shaped blood in the third small jade vial had clearly defined features. Ji Yunteng received it in his hands and knelt down on the ground, his voice trembling, murmuring ceaselessly.

Seeing his grandfather like this, Xiao Nannan kept wiping at his tears too. He knew this was the image of his ancestor — a tall and heroic man. Though he had perished, his blood still conveyed a kind of divine spirit.

“In those days, when the Big Dipper was brought to peace, our ancestor spared no cost, exhausting his fundamental source, refining these three vials of holy blood essence from within himself to leave for his descendants, and then set out upon the Ancient Star Road of the cosmos — never to return.” Ji Yunteng wept with aged tears streaming down his face.

That Holy Physique had set his heart at ease, left behind the blood essence, made his final arrangements, and then departed. Years later, his descendants found their way to the Fifty-Third Human Pass.

Many years had passed. Whether it was the Holy Physique’s descendants across the preceding generations, or the rare geniuses who had occasionally emerged throughout the long ages, none had opened the stone casket. They had faithfully observed their ancestor’s instructions — the blood would not be wasted except during times of turmoil among the human tribes, even as their clan grew increasingly desolate.

Ye Fan let out a long sigh. What more could be said?

Ji Yunteng knelt there, unwilling to rise for a long time. Xiao Nannan choked back sobs and knelt down alongside him, keeping his grandfather company.

No one knew how much time passed before calm returned to the treasure vault. The elder Ji Yunteng took one last look at the human-shaped blood, bowed his head in reverent worship, then placed it back in the stone casket and handed it to Ye Fan.

“It will serve you better,” was all he said.

Ye Fan shook his head. “I have already broken the curse and carved out my own path — I have no use for this. Leave it for Yang Xi.”

The golden blood flowing within him had broken through all obstructions, allowing him to advance steadily, and that blood had taken on the form of the Holy Physique ancestor. Yang Xi’s atavism, aside from his youthfulness, bore a striking resemblance.

They were of the same clan, sharing the same blood. The ancestor’s Dao fragments would be most beneficial to Xiao Nannan. Standing on the shoulders of a giant, they could allow him in the future to reach heights that were difficult to imagine.

“This child is still young — by the time he grows up, it will all be too late. It’s better if you take it,” the elder Ji Yunteng insisted.

Ye Fan still shook his head firmly. “For me, it is not a necessity. I have already found my own path — once the conditions are met, I can make rapid advances. When Yang Xi grows up, he will very likely be identical to this blood-colored little figure. Not letting him take it would be wasteful — a genuine regret.”

Ye Fan refused. This was the key to unlocking the Holy Physique’s shackles — but he had already forged his own road and could advance rapidly. There was no need to squander this crystallized labor of the heart.

The Guide Zhao Gongyi nodded. “This is a Holy Physique key. For him, its significance is no longer so great — it should be left for those who need it more.”

“But… he is still so young. It may come too late,” said Ji Yunteng, glancing at his grandson.

“Not necessarily. Everyone says the path to immortality is about to open, yet even now there has been no sign of it — only the descent of the various saints upon the Big Dipper.” Ye Fan said.

All these years, through inquiries to the various Guides and questions to other trial participants, he had been paying close attention to any developments regarding the path to immortality!

“In the ancient eras, everyone said the path to immortality would appear, yet when the ancient emperors rushed there, they all missed it — the immortal path never manifested.” Ye Fan spoke of past events, with his own judgment in his heart. “Who knows whether this generation will miss it again? Perhaps it will prove difficult to appear.”

The great emperors of antiquity — the most powerful beings in the world — why had they all gone to the Big Dipper? Because they had all calculated certain possibilities. Sadly, in the end, they only whiled away the ages.

The Guide said: “The day of its arrival may truly come when Yang Xi’s generation has grown. Who can say what the future holds? But if there were two generations of Holy Physique, what could not be suppressed?”

In the end, Ye Fan did not accept the stone casket and returned it to Ji Yunteng, telling him to keep it safe. And finally, Ye Fan helped this old man dissolve the Bitter Sea, setting him on the path of cultivation as well.

“I am already this old — I have long since missed the good years…” Ji Yunteng smiled bitterly.

“Grandfather and grandson cultivating the Dao together — that would not be such a bad story either. We go as far as we can.” Even the Guide Zhao Gongyi smiled along.

“I want to visit the ancient star where the ancestor of the clan bearing the Sovereign Heavenly Tyrant Blood is buried in meditation,” said Ye Fan, gazing at that life-bearing world not so terribly far away in the starry sky.

“I want to go too,” said Xiao Nannan, clutching his small fists tight, lifting his little face and pleading with Ye Fan.

“Don’t cause trouble — what kind of place is that? How could you go there?” Ji Yunteng put on a stern face, afraid the little one would become a burden to Ye Fan.

Ye Fan immediately laughed and shook his head at Ji Yunteng. “It’s fine.” He looked at Xiao Nannan. “Come on — let’s go explore it together and see if that clan can stop us.”

Stars shimmered throughout the cosmos. Crossing a billion li in an instant, a domain gate appeared upon an ancient star below, and from within it emerged two figures — one tall, one small.

This was a vast star rich in spiritual energy. Ancient trees formed dense forests, everything a lush emerald green. The mountains were tremendously magnificent, and cascading waterfalls of misty white fell from on high, some hundreds or even thousands of zhang tall.

The vitality here was extraordinarily rich — countless species of trees, all manner of rare birds and exotic beasts moving through them. This was a rare paradise of life.

And yet, the moment Ye Fan arrived, his expression changed. Although the spiritual energy was dense, the Great Dao here was so strange — inherently in conflict with him, as though seeking to suppress and crush him down.

Yang Xi, who had only barely dissolved the Bitter Sea and could just barely be considered to have stepped onto the path of cultivation, felt stifled in his heart, his entire body uncomfortable. In this heaven and earth, breathing was difficult, and he was filled with confusion.

“Just as the legends from the outside say — suppressing all other bloodlines. This entire ancient star has only the Sovereign Heavenly Tyrant Blood lineage flourishing here. Truly tyrannical.” Ye Fan murmured to himself.

This clan’s ancestor had stood at the absolute pinnacle of human achievement, and his death upon this ancient star had caused tremendous changes to heaven and earth.

Ye Fan led Xiao Nannan, each step covering hundreds of li, walking across the mountains and rivers. They encountered many ancient beasts and fierce birds of prey — all archaic exotic species — yet very few were powerful among them, suppressed as they were by the Dao laws of this place.

Mountains and rivers receded behind them as Ye Fan arrived at the spot with the densest spiritual energy on the entire ancient star. Here, the energy was practically liquefying — before even drawing close, one could sense wave after wave of spiritual energy tides.

Apes cried and tigers roared. Ahead, in this primordial landscape, stood a great mountain, its entire body verdant and lush, covered in vegetation, towering between heaven and earth.

Its shape was strange — resembling a burial mound.

In truth, it was the resting place of the Sovereign Heavenly Tyrant Blood lineage’s ancestor in deep meditation. This was an immense ancient tomb, ten thousand zhang tall, reaching up through the clouds above.

Atop the burial mound, grass and trees had grown in abundance. This was the source of the spiritual energy — nearly liquefying — with all manner of vegetation growing wildly.

Those who had failed in their assault on the Great Emperor realm and perished had died in various ways. The most tragic Ye Fan had ever witnessed was that quasi-emperor whose death had caused star rivers to encircle his body, dragged his mother star into ruin, and whose own skull had detonated.

That human-path pinnacle powerhouse in whom the Sovereign Heavenly Tyrant Blood had flowed — known as the Uncrowned King — had failed his assault on the Great Emperor realm and, in his dissolution, had caused an ancient star once sparse in spiritual energy to suddenly become so verdant and flourishing. There was something eerie and terrifying about that.

Xiao Nannan stared at that immense ancient tomb and clenched his small fists. Right then, his eyes reddened, and he howled in a teary voice: “I want to fight you!”

Ye Fan ruffled his head, said nothing, and led him step by step forward, fixing his gaze on the enormous ancient tomb.

In this place, he felt a kind of tyrannical oppression — a terrible law that suppressed everything unlike itself.

That this person had been able to ambush and slay the Holy Physique of the human tribe and live an additional ten years spoke sufficiently to his matchless strength. This kind of physique, known as the Uncrowned King, said to have beaten the entire cosmos without a rival — there was sound reasoning behind it. Truly, it was extreme in its power!
