The purple blood formed a human silhouette โ imposing in bearing, radiating an unmatched and overwhelming aura. Like a great peak standing erect in that place, with wild hair flying and cold, imperious eyes that acknowledged no equal beneath the sky.
Ye Fan had never truly encountered this person, but he had seen him within the undulating ripples of another person’s divine sense โ for this person had left that individual with a far too profound and unforgettable impression.
Many years ago, there had been a young man of radiant bearing, brilliance that had stunned an entire region. Among his generation in that ancient land of life, he had been undefeated by all peers, acclaimed as the foremost figure among the young. Carrying dreams and an ambition to devour mountains and rivers, he had alone set out upon the ancient road of the starry sky.
He pressed forward with ferocious resolve, fighting his way alone to the gates of the human race’s ancient road Sacred City. Even when confronted by extraordinary talents from numerous star regions, he stood outstanding among them, counted among the very strongest.
His natural gifts were exceptional and rare among that batch of trial participants. Even the guides had praised him, saying that given time, he would one day reign supreme over a region and become the most outstanding expert of the human race across the ages.
Tragically, such a brilliant talent had not yet bloomed before withering away all too early. At the human race’s Second City, he had encountered someone he should never have encountered.
A hundred boats racing forward, heroes vying for supremacy. Deep within an ancient primordial training ground, he had fought his way through a bloody path and carved out a place for himself, sitting cross-legged upon an ancient cliff in calm contemplation of the Great Dao.
Yet what followed was a terrifying event โ the greatest setback of his life. A lone rider on horseback had trampled through the sky with an unparalleled, domineering aura and, with nothing more than a single spear thrust, had pinned him along with his mount into the vast and desolate ancient earth, soaked in blood.
That lone rider had not lingered for even a moment, ascending to the heavens, shattering the ancient training ground that was said to be eternal, charging alone beyond the outer void โ like a divine demon, exuding such unrestrained and imperious arrogance.
He had been left completely cold. Though he had survived by sheer luck, the fire in his heart had been extinguished. A vibrant and spirited young man had from that day on become despondent and extreme.
Over ten years later, he had gathered his courage and set foot upon the ancient road once more. But unfortunately and tragically, he encountered another person โ the same tragedy played out again. He was pinned into the ground by a single spear thrust, blood dyeing the earth red, extinguishing the very last thread of hope in his heart.
From that day forward, the human race’s Second City gained one more veteran soldier โ one who often gazed at the ancient road through the starry sky in the nights, carrying with him a sense of desolation. His silhouette was deeply forlorn.
His name was Guan Cheng.
More than twenty years ago, Ye Fan had pinned Guan Cheng into the ground with a single spear. From the blood that had splashed up and from within the ripples of his divine sense, he had seen a magnificently imposing man โ the very same person who now stood before him.
“The first person who broke Guan Cheng’s spirit, leaving him despondent and fallen from that day forward, was the Sovereign Sky Physiqueโฆ” Ye Fan murmured to himself.
He had never imagined that he had actually seen the rival destined by fate years earlier. He had never known this person’s origins. The ancient road had been severed for over twenty years โ and only today was the truth finally revealed.
Those past events flickered past like a flash.
Before him, the purple blood had taken human form, carrying a terrifying undulation. As his eyes opened, his life essence surged to the heavens โ like two blazing torches burning fiercely.
To think he still retained a thread of consciousness โ which spoke volumes about how terrifying this blood truly was!
This was the Sovereign Physique’s blood body. Years ago, when this person had passed through this place, he had left a jar of pure purple blood for the descendants of the Bloodline of the Sovereign Sky โ its divine nature neither scattered nor extinguished.
The golden blood within Ye Fan’s body grew restless. They were natural adversaries, and the moment they came within proximity of one another, they resonated โ nearly boiling over.
“Roarโฆ!”
Opposite him, the purple blood body suddenly released a furious howl that caused the entire devastated ancient ground to shudder. Enormous boulders tumbled from dozens of broken peaks with a rumbling din.
He took a step forward, striking out โ an instinctive reaction, filled with hostility toward anyone who carried golden blood flowing within them.
“No matter how powerful you once were, you are nothing more than a blood body now. To dare act so arrogant and domineering โ I will subdue you.” Ye Fan let out a cold laugh, reached out one great hand, and slammed it down fiercely. Golden light blazed brilliantly, enveloping the blood body entirely.
Puu!
Purple blood splattered. Ye Fan obliterated the blood body directly. If a Sacred Body at the Eighth Heavenly Layer could not directly suppress even a blood body, there would be no point going to face a destined rival.
The purple blood was resplendent โ every drop, every strand filled with divine nature. Scattered across the stone surfaces and seeping into the soil, it bloomed with precious radiance, mapping this place in shimmering crystalline light, wrapped in wisps of purple energy.
Ye Fan produced a jade jar, executed the Military Techniques, and drew every drop of scattered blood into it. He then examined it carefully, studying the power of its bloodline.
This was a domineering blood, suffused with a mysterious power โ truly a great medicinal treasure of the human body, an incomparable rarity and treasure to many.
Unfortunately, Ye Fan had no way to make use of it, nor could he refine it. He and this purple blood were innately incompatible. He attempted to merge a single drop of his golden blood with a single drop of the purple blood โ and the two burned each other clean away.
“Uncle, what use does this jar of purple blood have?” Yang Xi asked, blinking her large eyes.
“To feed horses, feed dragons, feed bearsโฆ” Ye Fan replied.
The Cang Family’s ancient grounds โ a scene of desolation and devastation everywhere, transformed into a vast wasteland, all former grandeur and magnificence now gone.
“Don’t think you can gloat. The one in whom true Blood of the Sovereign Sky flows will not let you off. He will certainly come killing his way back from the starry sky โ just as he did tens of thousands of years ago, slaying the human race’s Sacred Body at the Human Race’s Fiftieth City!” One nascent spirit shrieked, brimming with indignation.
“Silence!” Ye Fan flicked a finger, nearly reducing him to nothing.
The nascent spirits of the two Saint Kings were both imprisoned. Ye Fan continued his investigation, intent on learning the unknown secrets of the ancient past.
Unfortunately, the years were far too distant and many of those past events had been erased by time. They were merely descendants of the Bloodline of the Sovereign Sky and could no longer truly be considered people of that ancient star.
“Countless ages ago, the Sovereign Physique’s clan produced a supreme being who slew several quasi-Emperors of the cosmos and was acclaimed as undefeated beneath the starry sky, on the verge of proving the Dao. Hmm โ but he was slain by a Great Completion Sacred Bodyโฆ”
Ye Fan saw this secret, and his entire body immediately trembled. What era was this from? The Primordial Age? Or something even more ancient โ something he had never heard of?
For the Sovereign Physique to attain the Dao was extraordinarily difficult, nearly impossible. A supreme being had finally emerged who might have been able to take that very step โ but was slain by a destined rival.
“That incomparable Sacred Body also died. He failed to prove the Dao and fell in the cosmosโฆ” One of the Saint Kings’ nascent spirits shrieked.
“The Sacred Body’s clan became a thing of the past โ even the mother star no longer exists!” The other Saint King cried out.
Ye Fan paid no attention and continued probing their seas of consciousness, observing directly within his own mind. His heart was shaken. The grudge between the two clans was ancient indeed โ traceable all the way back to the age of mythology!
Even more, it seemed to be entangled with the ancient Heavenly Court’s war.
But it was too distant โ so distant that even these two could not make it clear. Only vague legends remained, suggesting that both clans had participated in the great war of that age.
Ye Fan fell into deep thought. All of this was too astounding. No wonder those in whom the Blood of the Sovereign Sky flowed harbored such hatred toward the human race’s Sacred Body. This enmity was ancient beyond measure, branded into their very bones and blood.
“Let me see what is particular about your clan’s ancient scripture and how it tempers one’s self.” Ye Fan said. The two men, upon hearing this, immediately erupted in furious roars and struggled violently.
Yet having fallen into Ye Fan’s hands, how could they possibly resist? They were suppressed in an instant.
Unfortunately, Ye Fan was disappointed. Many thousands of years ago, a person who possessed the Sovereign Sky Bloodline constitution had come to this place and taken back the already incomplete ancient scripture that had been in their possession.
Over the long ages, there had been more than one Sovereign Physique who walked the ancient starry road. The Fiftieth Pass of the human race was a particularly special place, a variable within the Grand Deduction โ a scripture circulating outside was easily coveted by others.
At present, the descendants of the Bloodline of the Sovereign Sky cultivated techniques that were no longer the scriptures of their ancestors, but rather a different sacred law lineage.
Ye Fan sighed and shook his head. At this stage, a Saint-level lineage held little appeal for him. Only the scriptures of an ancient Great Emperor could move his heart.
Still, he had obtained some information of value: the Sovereign Physique’s physical body was extraordinarily powerful and could contend against a Sacred Body. The Sovereign Blood was an incomparable supreme blood from the age of mythology.
In the distance, many divine senses probed inward โ yet none dared approach even a single step. The Cang Family had been the most powerful clan on this ancient star, and all other legacies had been dominated under their hegemony. Now that the clan had been devastated, the other powers were naturally shaken to the core.
Ye Fan probed their seas of consciousness, obtained much information of value, and then gave them a swift end โ a single slap reduced them to scattered ashes.
He stood there in silent contemplation for a long time. Throughout this process, the little troublemaker was very quiet, sitting alone on a blue rock with chin in hand, not disturbing him.
In the distance, the many powerful experts all withdrew in complete silence, not daring to draw near, harboring great dread.
No one could say how long passed before Ye Fan returned to himself. He smiled at the little troublemaker and said, “Hungry?”
“A little,” Yang Xi answered.
“Would you like to go inside my Mother Qi Cauldron and have a look? We can have a grand feast in there,” Ye Fan said.
“Yes!” The little one was thrilled with great anticipation. A flash of light, and he had been drawn inside.
Ye Fan surveyed this devastated ground, activating his Source Arts. His gaze pierced directly into the depths of the earth as he began to investigate the Source Heavenly divine formation.
This place was strange โ how could such formation veins exist here? It was almost beyond comprehension. Whoever had laid them down must have appeared on this ancient star before even the Cang Clan, their history stretching back into the immemorial.
He was cautious. After a long time spent surveying the terrain, he stepped one step at a time into the depths of the earth, capturing the great dragon veins, intent on understanding everything clearly.
“Thisโฆ” Ye Fan was enormously startled underground. He had discovered swathes of Source Heavenly veins carved into the primordial dragon veins โ complex and profound beyond measure.
These traces had to have existed for at least several hundred thousand to millions of years!
Great swathes of the veins had dimmed, eroded away by the force of time. Especially just now when the ancient formations had been activated and unleashed in a single instant โ what remained of the Dao patterns had been mostly destroyed in the process.
This sent Ye Fan’s thoughts into a whirl. Source Heavenly veins from hundreds of thousands to millions of years ago โ this was trulyโฆ astounding beyond belief, almost unreal.
For one must know that the First Generation Source Heavenly Founding Master of the Eastern Desolation had only appeared approximately ten thousand years ago, rising to brilliance in the later Archaic Age!
These formations here โ they might be a product of the Primordial Age, or perhaps even more ancient. How could they not be astounding?
The Source Heavenly Book had been cast from a special silver metal, with no one knowing in what era it had been written. According to tradition, even the First Generation Founding Master had cultivated by basing himself upon it.
Unfortunately, Ye Fan had long since returned it to Fifth Elder Zhang, otherwise he might have taken it out now and compared it, to see if it could resonate with the veins of this place.
“This would suggest it originated from the starry sky, not an ancient art that was created in the Eastern Desolationโฆ” Ye Fan murmured to himself.
He examined the underground carefully. Apart from the eroded ancient formation veins, there were no other particular findings โ and his body had not manifested anything ominous.
“Could it be that because the ancient formation has already been destroyed and has lost its particular power, it no longer has much influence on me? No, that’s wrong โ there should be something particular here. It was just erased a moment ago.”
He searched again, and finally discovered a humanoid ash figure. In this place there was an eerie, unsettling sensation.
Ye Fan remained on this planet for three days, traversing the entire depths of the earth, discovering more and more remnants โ Source Heavenly ancient formations nearly eroded to the point of invisibility.
In the end, he left the underground, rose into the sky, entered the starry void, and gazed down at the ancient star below in silent contemplation.
Suddenly, Ye Fan’s body jolted, as though remembering something. He gazed afar toward another life-bearing ancient star โ the ancient ground where Yang Xi and the others lived.
“What a bold and sweeping undertaking. The Source Heavenly Masters of the Eastern Desolation could control mountain and river terrain โ but the great sage of the starry sky is maneuvering the stars themselves!”
Ye Fan’s voice escaped him involuntarily. It had been many years since he had been this astonished. What he had discovered in the depths of the earth was but the tip of the iceberg. The true secret lay in the configuration of this entire region of starry space.
Two life-bearing ancient stars. Two life-source grounds. Both had been arranged by human hands. At a specific moment, this stretch of starry space would form a precise and mysterious pattern!
