Whoosh!
The creature covered entirely in red fur raised one hand, and all the veins on the ground came alive, as though granted life. Sword-cry rang out in clear tones. Ten thousand upon ten thousand sword energies slashed open the heavy leaden clouds overhead and pierced through into the cosmos.
Without question, this place had become a killing ground. Ye Fan naturally faced an enormous threat — standing here, he had become the target of all attacks.
Ye Fan did not flee. He was composed and steady. He, too, understood Source Arts, and more importantly, he was a powerful cultivator. Combining the two, his battle power in this place would multiply.
A golden Taiji appeared, enveloping him within. All around him, strands of innate Dao patterns spread outward, undulating like streaks of golden lightning.
Using Source Arts to counteract, using Dao principles to guard, using supreme divine form to campaign — Ye Fan himself became the dragon-form curved line of the golden Taiji. This was the display of the essence of the Wheel Sea Scripture he had created himself.
Source Arts clashed. The various veins on the ground tangled fiercely in intense opposition against one another. And he himself drove the golden Taiji forward in a crushing advance, charging straight toward this mysterious man.
“Who exactly are you?!” Ye Fan demanded. This person was perhaps a Source Heavenly Master, or perhaps a being of the starry sky — in any case, he was certainly a supreme master of Source Arts of a generation.
At the center of the ancient city, the ground was covered in Source Heavenly veins — dense and boundless, flickering with strange light. Strands of blood-water flowed along those veins, making the sight jarring and disturbing, suffused with a strange and powerful arcane force fluctuation.
“The end of the cycle… Soul Summoner.” He answered in a cold, distant voice. His crimson eyes were like two demonic lanterns, shooting out a heart-chilling red light.
“Do not speak to me of the Underworld. Do not tell me of reincarnation. I ask you: who were you in your former life? Did you come from the Star of Burial Emperors? How did you end up drifting to this place?” Ye Fan demanded sharply.
The lineage of Source Heavenly Masters and the Underworld were entangled with a thousand threads and a hundred knots. Without even thinking, it was clear — escorting yin soldiers in transit. Who else could do this on anyone’s behalf?
“Former life forgotten. At the end of the cycle, all becomes void — all will conclude… I have come to guide you to your place.” The towering figure covered from head to toe in red fur was like a fearsome demon that had not appeared in ten thousand ages — terrifying and grotesque, with red fur a full half-foot long covering every inch of skin including the face.
A brief exchange, and the two had clashed fiercely hundreds upon hundreds of times. This was a confrontation of Source Arts. This person’s techniques were unparalleled under the heavens, his mastery of this ancient art still above Ye Fan’s!
This was a Source Heavenly Master who had long since forged his own path, transcending the scope of Source Arts as recorded in the ancient books and taken a hundred-foot pole one step further.
Boom!
Between his palm and fingers, six layers of immortal light shot forth, drawing upon the great force of heaven and earth, mountain and river, sun and moon and stars — gathering the power of all things to suppress Ye Fan. This was the Immortal Sealing Six Locks.
Ye Fan was shaken and swiftly evaded. The golden divine lightning at his brow flashed and ten thousand streams of heaven-piercing sword energy flew out from the center of his brow, hacking and killing toward those six layers of immortal light, intent on shattering them.
Clang! Clang!…
Deafening sounds rang out. All things under the heavens seemed to press forward as one, forming an immeasurably vast force, all converging to suppress Ye Fan.
The meteorite trembled. At the same time, the sun, moon, and celestial river all appeared at once. Tens of thousands of silver waterfalls cascaded down from overhead — a vast white expanse. This was the sacred power of the star region summoned by the Immortal Sealing Six Locks!
This was an unstoppable, violent assault, submerging Ye Fan, intending to seal and lock him within. It could be called a supreme divine technique without equal!
The Immortal Sealing Six Locks was recorded in the Source Heavenly Book as a theoretical ancient art, one that had never been successfully created. At present, Ye Fan could execute up to the Immortal Sealing Five Locks level.
Even Source Heavenly Masters could not execute the whole of it — one needed to rise yet another level.
Yet this person had executed it all — and in an utterly transformed state. Ye Fan suspected it had in fact already become the Immortal Sealing Seven Locks, long since transcending the theoretical six-lock ancient art.
From the very name, the terrifying power of this art could be seen. At its uttermost extreme it could seal gods and lock immortals — though this contained some exaggeration, it was enough to convey how fearsome it was.
Celestial rivers descended in cascades, vast and magnificent, transforming into six small worlds — pressing down one layer after the next in sealing suppression!
Boom!
Golden lightning shot in all directions from Ye Fan’s brow. Heaven-piercing sword energy blazed brilliantly — simulating the Primordial Emperor Dao Sword, executing consecutive slashing strikes, shattering all creation. Yet even after cleaving through one small world, there was the next. Six layers stacked upon one another — and the shadow of a seventh layer was already manifesting. It could not be broken through entirely.
Ye Fan could not help but be awed. The path of Source Arts was without end. Drawing upon the great force of heaven and earth and celestial rivers to elevate one’s own Dao techniques to this degree — it was truly stunning. This was a lineage worthy of looking down upon all of past and present.
Streams of starlight in the hundreds of millions, silvery white without gap, pouring down, constructing six small worlds that sealed and suppressed Ye Fan.
A great cocoon of pristine white formed there, wrapping him within, radiating faint sacred energy. Six small worlds stacked upon one another, transforming into a prison.
Ye Fan faced the battle calmly and steadily. In the moment just before he was sealed, virtually every secret technique was unleashed simultaneously. Behind him appeared the Golden Divine Treasure, his two hands executing the Six Paths of Reincarnation Fist, and from both eyes surged forth the Primal Magnetic Immortal Light!
Several of the most powerful ancient arts all manifested at once. Even as mighty as the Immortal Sealing Six Locks was, it could not hold him. Ye Fan tore apart the silver cocoon and charged forward rapidly toward the red-furred creature.
He wanted a single thrust to seal the throat — to swiftly bring this one down and then force out various secrets.
Yet the red-furred monster was truly immensely powerful. Divine techniques flowed endlessly between its palm and fingers, capable of calling the wind and commanding the rain, plucking stars and seizing the moon. It tore open space and drove Ye Fan into a stretch of the starry sky, putting adequate distance between them.
A true technique for overturning heaven and earth!
In this single instant, it connected with the outer void, linking this meteorite with another dazzling stretch of starry sky, intending to drive Ye Fan into it and open up enough distance.
No ordinary Saint could accomplish this step. When Source Heavenly divine arts elevated and transformed to another higher realm, they could be done. Mountain and river, sun and moon in their great force were all held in the palm, using all of creation as one’s instrument.
Whoosh!
Dao patterns surfaced beneath Ye Fan’s feet. One footprint after another appeared in the void, branded into a Dao diagram. This was the display of the movement technique’s characters brought to their absolute pinnacle — he was not swallowed by the starry sky. Crossing the chasm, he charged toward the terrifying red-furred creature.
Ye Fan closed in at extreme speed. He parted his lips and let out a clear, sharp cry. Strands of sound waves transformed into Dao principles as they struck forward — truly lethal if hit. Even a Saint King might not be able to withstand it.
However, the red-furred creature’s power was supremely great. Beneath its feet all manner of veins intertwined, and in an instant the stars shifted and the mountains and rivers lost their color. Though it stood right there, it was as though a distance of tens of millions of li had suddenly opened between them.
The broad expanse at the center of the ancient city was covered in Source Heavenly veins — a supreme formation. Even with Ye Fan’s unmatched offensive power, he had been unable to breach it. Distance had been created between them.
What he could be grateful for was that he understood Source Arts — he did not become lost here. Step by step he dissolved illusions and charged inward, closing in relentlessly.
Of course, Ye Fan could not match the swiftness of the red-furred creature. This place held the wondrous secret of stealing the creation of heaven and earth, shaped over years of meticulous arrangement by a supreme Source Arts master. At times he would stop to contemplate a method of breaking through.
There were even several instances when he encountered mortal peril — the Source Arts ancient formation reawakened, and this place could absolutely execute a supreme figure without equal!
This was the most brutal battle Ye Fan had encountered since setting out on the ancient starry road. Unable to secure victory after a long assault, it was immensely difficult. Replaced by anyone who did not understand Source Arts, they would have already perished.
Ye Fan believed that even several Saint Kings working together could not break through this ancient formation. This was absolutely the crystallization of Source Arts’ finest labor — and after experiencing several catastrophes, he grew ever more cautious.
Suddenly, the red-furred creature muttered under its breath. Its crimson eyes flickered — sinister and strange. The laws and Dao patterns between heaven and earth grew ever denser, and in particular, a vast undulation arrived from the outer void.
Ye Fan looked up, and his heart lurched immediately. This was far too powerful. It was a cluster of meteorites — boundless and immense — flying in together like immortals descending from the heavens!
What manner of immense power was this? It could absolutely destroy the star fragment on which they stood. Both the ancient city and the nether earth would be reduced to ashes.
Ye Fan had confidence in his own strength to shatter meteorites one by one — but this meteorite cluster was absolutely different. They were arrayed into a strange pattern.
“That is… the manifestation of Source Arts reinforcement, reaching across infinite distances, the law patterns already carved upon them!” His heart sank.
The dazzling meteorites flew forward, arrayed into formation diagram after formation diagram, like a scattering of smoke and rain, like falling blossoms in full bloom — carrying with them a desolate beauty.
Ye Fan’s mouth uttered a Dao shout. Vein after vein spread outward all around him, brilliant and dazzling, rising to meet the high sky. All manner of Dao techniques were unleashed together.
The Six Paths of Reincarnation Fist, the Golden Divine Treasure, the Primal Magnetic Immortal Light — all unleashed at once, with his divine phenomenon spreading open too, offense and defense as one, fighting this red-furred creature with everything he had.
All manner of Dao sounds rang out without cease. Brilliant radiance swept completely through this place. The yin mist was refined and purified clean away. The yin soldiers and those two Saint-level commanders were all reduced to ashes, no longer existing.
Ye Fan blazed with light from every inch of his body, like a blazing sun descended into a snow country, melting the ice world away. The nether earth was nearly completely evaporated. Every manner of ghost energy collapsed. The city disintegrated in an instant.
In all his years, this was the first time Ye Fan had been pushed to such a state. Today could truly be called an all-out battle. In the sky overhead, meteorite after meteorite exploded. Yet the Source Heavenly veins did not scatter — they continued their assault.
In the starry sky, a radiant shower bloomed. Every dazzling burst signified another fragment of a shattered star. So beautiful it made the heart tremble.
“Another year when the divine blossoms first bloom — to revive her… did I gather them? No. I failed.” The red-furred monster’s eyes became vacant and confused. The crimson color in its eyes gradually receded. It gazed at the brilliant light-rain overhead and muttered: “Who am I? I am… the Fourth Generation Source Heavenly Master, Wu Yi.”
Ye Fan’s heart trembled at these words. Even though he had mentally prepared himself, he still could not suppress a sigh. The one he had fought with everything he had was indeed an ancestor of the Source Heavenly lineage.
Boom!
He shattered the formation techniques one after another — rumbling without end. The meteorites from beyond continued to explode in succession. The formation veins across the broad expanse also crumbled continuously. He charged rapidly forward.
Ye Fan battled the Fourth Generation Founding Master to the end — and this battle at last drew to its conclusion.
For Wu Yi’s spirit had become dazed and unsteady, and he no longer presided over the Source Heavenly veins. The deadlocked situation was broken, and the various law patterns crumbled in succession, leaving only the meteorites overhead blooming like fireworks in the sky.
Ye Fan destroyed the ancient formation and ceased his assault. Across his body, streams of golden blood ran down. In all his years campaigning through the starry sky, few had been able to wound him.
This all-out battle against the Founding Master had left him with bodily injuries. Wu Yi could absolutely kill a Saint King. Drawing upon the great forces of heaven and earth and celestial rivers, laying down Source Heavenly veins that shook the heavens and earth — his power was terrifying.
Wu Yi appeared as though his entire spirit and vitality had been spent. He swayed unsteadily on his feet. The crimson light in his eyes had fully retreated, gradually returning to clarity. He fixed his gaze on Ye Fan and said, “The Source Heavenly Master lineage has a worthy successor.”
“Founding Master — what happened?!” Ye Fan demanded.
“The ominous fate was long since set. It was all the calamity of longevity. The age of mythology had not yet concluded. We were forced to pioneer the path of immortality, using Source Arts to seek the creation of heaven and earth — burying one body per age, using ourselves as experiments in the techniques, observing the seal of the cycle, building the road to eternal life.”
