Dai Wo You Zui Shi – Chapter 186

You Mingxu was awakened by someone tapping her.

Yin Feng stood by the bed wearing a black coat, his demeanor cool and elegant, his features handsome and refined.

This guy had gotten up who knows when made himself perfectly presentable, and only then woke her up.

You Mingxu climbed up, asking, “Is it time to move?”

“It looks like he’s about to make his move.”

Only after sitting up did You Mingxu realize her awkward situation—she was wearing just a wrinkled men’s dress shirt, no shoes, and bare legs.

She looked up at him.

Yin Feng gave a faint smile, glanced at the nearby table, and then walked out of the basement, closing the door behind him.

On the table lay a woman’s coat, a red dress, and a pair of leggings, all new. You Mingxu went over and rummaged through them, finding disposable underwear, socks… and a pair of ladylike flat shoes.

You Mingxu fell silent for a few seconds before changing into them.

The basement also had a bathroom with new toiletries. After quickly freshening up, she walked out.

Dawn was just breaking, around five o’clock. The courtyard was empty and silent, shrouded in thin fog. Yin Feng stood under the eaves, his figure sharp against the morning light, lost in thought.

You Mingxu walked over and said, “Are you crazy? Dressed like this, how am I supposed to fight?”

He turned to look at her, his gaze lingering on the dress, and said, “When you’re with me, you won’t need to fight.”

You Mingxu was taken aback.

At that moment, others emerged from various parts of the house—Xiao Yan, Tu Ya, Guan Jun, Lao Jiu, Chen Feng… You Mingxu’s heart jumped.

Chen Feng said, “He’s left the villa district, and taken Binjiang Avenue toward downtown.”

Yin Feng: “Let’s go.”

Following the group out, You Mingxu suddenly noticed it wasn’t just Yin Feng and her—the others were also dressed rather smartly today. Xiao Yan wore a new white hoodie, Tu Ya had on an expensive-looking black down jacket, Guan Jun wore a Tang suit, Lao Jiu had on a new jacket, and Chen Feng was impeccable as always in his suit.

You Mingxu whispered to Yin Feng, “Why are you all dressed up like this?”

Yin Feng replied, “Didn’t you say we’re going to fight? For a group fight, presentation is important.”

After a moment of silence, You Mingxu said, “Give me back my phone.”

They had reached the cars, and Tu Ya opened the back door for them. Yin Feng got in, and You Mingxu followed. Yin Feng pulled out her phone from his pocket but didn’t hand it over, saying, “The police must follow behind us. Don’t mess up my plans.”

He knew exactly what she intended to do.

You Mingxu thought, I’ll agree for now and nodded.

Finally getting her phone, she immediately called Lao Ding to report.

Lao Ding was decisive. Although he couldn’t know all the details immediately, upon hearing they’d tracked down the organization’s trail, he promptly decided to have Jing Ping lead a team of officers for support.

Reassured, You Mingxu called Jing Ping, shared their location, and arranged for them to converge from another direction.

Tu Ya was driving a spacious, sturdy-looking SUV today. Only the three of them were in this vehicle. After hanging up, You Mingxu felt somewhat confident. Yin Feng asked, “Between you and this Jing Ping, who’s in charge?”

You Mingxu found his question odd but thought about it and said, “He is.”

Yin Feng: “Him? Really?”

You Mingxu was annoyed by his arrogant attitude and replied coolly, “He’s a decorated detective who’s dedicated his life to the badge. I respect him. He’s my superior.”

Yin Feng gave a cold laugh, and as he turned away, his gaze fell on her dress again. Suddenly, he slightly regretted having her dress this way.

Soon, at an intersection, the police convoy arrived—five or six vehicles, Ding Xiongwei had been quite generous this time. Just as You Mingxu was about to get out to find Jing Ping, Yin Feng said, “Have him come to this car. Remember, the police must follow behind us.”

Thinking of Tu Ya’s driving skills and how sturdy the car looked, You Mingxu said, “Fine.”

Jing Ping and Xu Mengshan were confused by Ding Xiongwei’s sudden orders. How had they suddenly found their target? You Mingxu hadn’t had time to explain much on the phone, only saying that Yin Feng had discovered a mole in his organization, leading them to the trail.

As they got out of their car, they saw a woman step down from the tall SUV. In the dim morning light, beneath her black coat was a red dress that somehow highlighted her slim figure even in winter’s cold, making her strikingly beautiful.

Only as she came closer did they recognize her.

Xu Mengshan had worked with her for so long but had never seen her in a dress—what female detective would wear a dress to work?

Xu Mengshan asked bewilderedly, “Why are you dressed like this?”

Jing Ping also stared at her.

Though internally frustrated, You Mingxu maintained her composure and said, “It was sudden, no time to change. Come on, get in this car, Yin Feng’s inside.”

You Mingxu returned to her seat beside Yin Feng.

When Xu Mengshan and Jing Ping approached the car, they saw Yin Feng sitting immaculately dressed. Xu Mengshan understood now—dressed like this, the two must have been planning a date before this came up, hence no time to change. He gave You Mingxu a slightly disapproving look before getting into the front passenger seat.

This left Jing Ping to sit in the back, next to You Mingxu.

The car started moving again.

Guan Jun drove one car, with several police vehicles following behind.

Suddenly, someone tapped You Mingxu’s right shoulder. She looked at Jing Ping, who noticed and looked back, their gazes both falling on the arm above her shoulder.

It was Yin Feng’s arm, somehow now resting on the back of her seat.

“Ah Xu, brief them on the situation,” Yin Feng said.

You Mingxu glanced at him and explained, “Yin Feng’s previous accident likely involved that organization. He’s long suspected an insider. Yesterday, we set a trap and caught someone. There’s no time for details, but the man is Wei Lan, originally his cook, who served time for manslaughter.”

Yin Feng added, “Wei Lan came to work for me three years ago.” He picked up a file from beside him and handed it to You Mingxu: “Wei Lan’s detailed background, show them.”

You Mingxu sensed something odd about his behavior today—why not hand it to them directly?—but didn’t dwell on it, passing the file to Jing Ping and Xu Mengshan.

After reading, Jing Ping asked, “Considered playing a longer game?”

He meant watching Wei Lan dig deeper into the criminal organization.

You Mingxu: “No.”

Yin Feng: “No.”

Jing Ping’s gaze lingered on You Mingxu before turning to Yin Feng. Yin Feng smiled slightly and said, “The bait that Ah Xu and I set will only fool them briefly. They’ll catch on soon, and this lead will vanish. We must act immediately, and catch them off guard. Isn’t that right, Ah Xu?”

You Mingxu didn’t want to humor him but also didn’t want others to notice anything amiss, so she gave a light “mm” in response.

Xu Mengshan asked, “What kind of bait did you set?”

You Mingxu remained silent, looking toward Yin Feng.
