The Qin Elder truly had no idea what to do. Watching Young Master Yu seethe with such fury, he found himself wanting to help this stubborn young man reclaim some dignity too.
But what could possibly be done, to keep such a wild, seemingly maddened drunk like Bai Feiyao within the bounds of the rules, and force him to formally concede, without provoking an even greater conflict?
If Jun Beiyue had a solution, he’d have been happy to cooperate.
But what Jun Beiyue said next left everyone stunned and utterly confused. He simply said, “Someone, tie him up.”
Tie him up?
What kind of solution was that?!
What exactly did that mean?
At once, murmurs and speculation rippled through the crowd. The Qin Elder wanted to ask too, a complicated flicker crossing his eyes, but he held himself back—better to see what Jun Beiyue actually had in mind first.
Ziqing herself furrowed her brow, genuinely unable to guess what this man was planning.
Yingzi stepped forward at once, but before he could even lay a hand on him, Bai Feiyao roared drunkenly, “Get away from me!”
He pointed at Jun Beiyue. “Who do you think you are, daring to tie up this young master!”
Jun Beiyue swept out a hand—it never even touched Bai Feiyao—yet the force of it sent him crashing straight to the ground. Fury surged in Bai Feiyao’s chest; he nearly leapt back up at once!
But in the end, he held himself back. Let him be drunk—he was Prince Yao, Jun Beiyue, the young master of the Bai Shi—did he really think tying him up while he was blackout drunk would accomplish anything? He wasn’t afraid at all!
Besides, if word ever got out about this, how would Jun Beiyue ever hold his head up on Liuxian Isle again?
And more to the point, what good would tying him up even do? Even with his mouth gagged, he still wouldn’t concede! He could still summon the vines regardless!
Soon, Yingzi had Bai Feiyao bound tightly to a chair, his upper body secured to the chair’s back, his legs tied to its front legs.
Bai Feiyao’s limbs stayed obediently still, but his mouth kept right on running.
He kept playing at being drunk, doing it convincingly—one moment squinting and grinning foolishly, the next belching repeatedly, then mumbling incoherently while swaying his head about, the very picture of a drunken fool!
The moment Yingzi stepped back, Bai Feiyao burst into loud laughter. “The young master of the Gu Shi wants to challenge me! This is his very first battle on Liuxian Isle—everyone, better keep your eyes wide open and watch closely!”
At those words, the crowd was utterly stunned—even Ziqing couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath. Was Bai Feiyao trying to get himself killed?
A sudden light flashed in Jun Beiyue’s eyes. Only then did he turn and look directly at him, slowly raising his hand—gripping a small throwing knife tightly!
Bai Feiyao’s heart leapt with delight—fight, then, he’d been waiting for this!
But no sooner had he thought it than the throwing knife shot out in a blur, so fast even Bai Feiyao himself couldn’t react in time—and every rope binding his upper body was sliced clean through!
What was this man trying to do?
Could it be—had he actually been provoked by those words, and was about to let him go?
But before anyone could make sense of it, Jun Beiyue simply glanced at Bai Feiyao with open disdain and sneered coldly, “Young Master Bai, you flatter yourself. You’re not even worthy of this prince’s challenge.”
With that, he turned to walk away.
“You don’t dare! Jun Beiyue, you simply don’t dare, do you? Hahaha! You don’t dare at all!”
“Coward! Too scared to fight this young master, aren’t you—afraid of losing, so all you can do is tie me up. What else can you even manage?”
…
Toying with him—he was toying with him!
Bai Feiyao flew into a rage, shouting insult after insult, protesting wildly—but Jun Beiyue paid him no mind at all, walking calmly back to his seat amid the crowd’s astonishment and confusion, taking Ziqing’s hand out of habit, lifting his teacup for a small, unhurried sip before finally speaking.
A single sentence—and it silenced every curse coming out of Bai Feiyao’s mouth at once.
He said, “Young Master Yu, go fetch a blade. If he won’t concede, cut through his clothes—one piece at a time.”
