“Alright, let’s not talk about that anymore.”
Ji Tongzhou covered his wound with a pained expression as he released her. Zhen Yunzi had nearly turned him into a hornet’s nest. Injured by divine weapons, even the healing net could only cure the surface. As he moved just now, the wound reopened, causing his face to turn pale with pain.
He fell back, sighing, “Can you heal wounds?”
If this continued, he would either die from blood loss or the pain first. The precious prince, unable to endure such suffering, glared at her fiercely.
Li Fei sat cross-legged, closing her eyes to concentrate. She struggled to mobilize the spiritual energy within her body. After a long while, wisps of spiritual energy finally obeyed her control. The gentle white light of the Jade Snow Technique appeared in her palm, softly drifting into his wound.
His gaze had been fixed on her face the entire time, but she pretended not to notice, focusing on healing.
The Horn of Si was extremely rich in spiritual energy. Ji Tongzhou’s remaining cold poison and wounds were quickly healed. Li Fei wondered how things were going in Shandong. Lei Xiuyuan and the others were there, and who knew what Qin Yangling was doing to them? Anxious, she disregarded her severe internal injuries and stood up to leave.
Ji Tongzhou suddenly grabbed her, looked at her for a moment, and used his sleeve to wipe her face. “It’s covered in blood.”
His sleeve wasn’t much cleaner, and he only managed to make her face dirtier. Li Fei, paying no attention to such details, repeatedly dodged and said urgently, “Alright, alright, let’s hurry back!”
Suddenly, Lei Xiuyuan’s cool voice came from behind: “Is Zhen Yunzi dead?”
Li Fei turned around with great joy, seeing him standing at the edge of the cliff, looking at Zhen Yunzi’s dismembered corpse. After a moment, he raised his eyes to look at them, his gaze lingering for an instant on her arm where Ji Tongzhou was still holding her, his sleeve still on her face, the two of them very close.
Lei Xiuyuan averted his gaze and walked a few steps forward, crouching down to examine Zhen Yunzi’s body closely. The cut on his neck was quick, fierce, and precise—a fatal blow. There was also a stab wound on his chest, making it seem as if he had been killed without any resistance. Beside him lay a snow-white sword, with faint spiritual energy surrounding it. Was it her who killed him?
Li Fei had already rushed over, asking anxiously, “Are you alright? What about Qin Yangling? And Gelin and the others?”
As she spoke, she grasped his wrist, about to release spiritual energy to check.
Lei Xiuyuan held her hand in return, then gently let go, saying softly, “Everyone’s fine. Just take care of yourself.”
Li Fei was somewhat bewildered and was about to speak when she suddenly heard Bai Li Gelin calling out to them from afar. When the three of them woke up, they found the cave floor covered in blood and ice. Li Fei, Lei Xiuyuan, and Ji Tongzhou had disappeared, and Qin Yangling was nowhere to be seen. Strangely, their wounds and the cold poison had been cured. The three could only hurry out to search, fortunately, guided by the dragonfly spirit. After flying around for half a day, they finally found this place.
Upon seeing Zhen Yunzi’s dismembered corpse on the ground, Bai Li Gelin’s voice changed in shock: “He’s dead?! Who killed him?”
Who could kill this immortal? And even behead him!
Li Fei gave a bitter smile. “I killed him. Finally ending this karmic connection.”
At these words, even Bai Li Changyue was startled. The three stared at her with wide eyes. Li Fei could still feel the intense pain in her body, and her spiritual energy was sometimes smooth, sometimes not. She could feel the congestion in her abdomen; Zhen Yunzi had left her with severe internal injuries. Fortunately, the Sun Flame didn’t seem to have been awakened. He was in a crucial period of breaking the seal and absolutely couldn’t be affected by this.
She held her abdomen, enduring the pain as she said, “This is not the place to talk. Let’s leave first and discuss it later.”
Her gaze swept around, suddenly noticing the huge rock at the edge of the cliff. She remembered Zhen Yunzi mentioning that the Qingcheng Immortal and Sun Flame had left inscriptions here. She knew that Sun Flame and the Qingcheng Immortal must have had a deep relationship, but she never imagined they had been overseas together. She unconsciously walked towards the rock, just catching a glimpse of the inscriptions when she suddenly felt her body lighten. Lei Xiuyuan had picked her up horizontally and soared into the air. He said calmly, “Leaving the corpse here will cause trouble. Let’s burn it.”
Li Fei’s attention was completely drawn to the inscriptions on the huge rock. She hadn’t seen them… That fleeting glimpse of herself seemed somewhat familiar…
A sea of black fire instantly covered the entire cliff. Zhen Yunzi’s corpse and that huge rock were all engulfed. Li Fei instinctively wanted to move closer, but Lei Xiuyuan held her tightly, saying softly, “Don’t move.”
“The words on that rock…” she said, bewildered.
Lei Xiuyuan waved his hand, catching several wisps of subtle spiritual energy and gently crushing them. He said, “It’s already burned. Let’s go.”
Li Fei leaned against him in a daze, feeling her heart rate alternating between fast and slow, her mind flickering between clarity and confusion. She felt something was amiss but couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Lei Xiuyuan’s hand on her shoulder was gripping her so tightly it almost hurt. She squirmed slightly, and he loosened his grip, his hand moving to her face, letting her rest against his chest.
Their six-year promise had been incredibly difficult and full of twists and turns. The sudden encounter between Qin Yangling and Zhen Yunzi had seemed certain death, but in the end, Zhen Yunzi was killed by Li Fei, and Qin Yangling disappeared without a trace. Years of grave danger had been eliminated in one fell swoop, leaving everyone somewhat bewildered.
Ye Ye and Bai Li Changyue had suffered the most, but fortunately, Changyue was unharmed. As soon as the six of them landed on the outskirts of the East Sea Immortals’ Meeting, Ye Ye held her tightly and never let go.
No one wanted to disturb them at this moment. Bai Li Gelin smiled and led them to a small courtyard, saying, “The sea sect is different from your mountain sect. We disciples, apart from cultivation, live in this city. This is where I stay. Please make yourselves at home.”
Everyone had just experienced a life-and-death situation and was feeling somewhat dejected. Moreover, Ye Ye and Changyue had been through a near-death experience and probably had much to discuss. The matter of Zhen Yunzi would have to wait for another time.
Li Fei’s internal injuries were more severe than imagined, and she couldn’t even release spiritual energy as freely as before. It took a full day of using the Jade Snow Technique to heal. If not for the abundance of spiritual energy in the Horn of Si, who knows how long it would have taken? Finally healed, she collapsed on the table without a sound and fell asleep.
She slept for an unknown length of time before suddenly feeling someone gently stroking her cheek. Li Fei woke with a start, opening her eyes groggily to find that someone had carried her to bed and tucked her in. Her entire body, from head to toe, felt as if it had been cleaned, fresh, and comfortable.
She moved contentedly, and Lei Xiuyuan’s fingers stopped their movement, resting motionless on her face.
“Li Fei,” he called her name softly.
“Hmm?” she responded drowsily.
He didn’t speak again, his hand moving from her cheek down through the loose collar of her undergarment, caressing her bare skin. Li Fei, still not quite used to this, hurriedly tried to dodge, but his hand had already settled on her flat abdomen and continued downward.
Her drowsiness vanished in an instant, her body curling up and burrowing into the blanket. Lei Xiuyuan rolled on top of her, lowering his head to kiss her face somewhat frantically. His hands were like points of fire, threatening to ignite her. He had never been so urgent before.
Li Fei’s evasion gradually became half-hearted. At this moment Lei Xiuyuan was different from before, uninhibited and anxious. In her dazed state, she didn’t know how to respond to such passion. His every movement, every breath, even the touch of his skin seemed to tell her: that she was his alone.
His burning lips moved downward inch by inch, grinding and nibbling at every spot. The web of desire once again bound her, inescapable. Li Fei thought she would cry out, but she only let out a choked gasp. Her legs were trembling, firmly grasped by him, leaving a trail of blue marks.
The endless, profound darkness covered them. Thankfully, in this darkness, her bold actions seemed veiled. Her legs suddenly curled uncontrollably around his head, seeming to bump into something hard yet slender. Li Fei instinctively reached out to touch it but only felt his thick, soft hair.
Lei Xiuyuan pulled her into an embrace. He always entered so directly and deeply. Li Fei leaned into his arms, biting his shoulder to stifle her voice. She still couldn’t adapt to such intense movements, clinging to his neck to keep from falling back. Gradually, she lost all ability to think, consumed by a bone-deep pleasure she had never experienced before.
He was calling her name softly, his lips falling on hers, pecking along the shape of her mouth bit by bit. His near-violent movements finally began to gentle.
“Keep your promise to me,” he said, lightly pinching her chin. “Let me trust you.”
Li Fei looked at him in confusion. What did he mean?
“You…” she began to murmur, but he suddenly kissed her again, pressing her into the soft bed. She could say nothing more.
After what seemed like a long time, Li Fei suddenly woke again from her dream. Lei Xiuyuan was pressed against her back, seemingly fast asleep. She slowly turned over, gazing at his sleeping face. Lei Xiuyuan rarely let her see him in such a completely unguarded state. At this moment, he looked defenseless, like a child.
She gently took a lock of his long hair, playing with it between her fingers while pondering his earlier words.
Just as she was deep in thought, she suddenly heard Bai Li Gelin’s voice from outside the window. She seemed to be deliberately lowering her voice, but her anger was still evident: “My sister almost died! Take this cursed necklace off me!”
Soon, a familiar male voice said something softly, but it was unclear. Gelin laughed coldly: “I won’t trust you again. You brought this upon yourself. Fine, I’m begging you, will you take this chain off?”
The man said something else, followed by a long silence. After a while, Gelin said softly: “Can what we have to be considered mutual liking? You never really trusted me either, did you? You just couldn’t let go. From the beginning, you were only for yourself, and I was only for myself. This ridiculous relationship should end.”
