Wo Yu Cheng Feng – Chapter 17: Appearance of the Great Crow Demon

This enormous creature descending from the sky spread its black wings, vast enough to blot out the sun. As the dark shadow fell, it dove at considerable speed, bringing with it a fierce wind.

It resembled a crow, except its body was a hundred times larger, with an unusually long, sharp beak.

Its red eyeballs were filled with demonic malice.

Ling Luo and the others, being in the highest position, felt the sudden fierce wind and reacted immediately. She gripped the iron chain tightly and kicked off, using the momentum to move sideways, avoiding a collision with the great crow demon.

With her dodge, the great crow demon charged toward Xu Shen who was behind her.

Caught off guard, Xu Shen was struck and began to fall. Common Fei cried out his name in shock, but in the critical moment, Yue Liang Ze grabbed Xu Shen’s hand, suspending him from the mountain wall.

So the great crow demon then charged toward Common Fei, who was hanging at the end.

The crow demon opened its mouth, with fire light already visible deep in its throat.

Great Crow Demon, covered in black feathers, with large wings, and three eyes, specialized in fire attacks.

The contents of the Demon Scripture taught in the regular hall classes instantly appeared in Common Fei’s mind. But previously, he had only seen the appearance of such creatures in others’ descriptions or illustrated books. Now, face to face at close range, his heart was filled with shock and fear.

Common Fei instinctively formed a spiritual seal with his fingers, but forgot that this was the Saha Realm, where spiritual power and cultivation were forbidden—he couldn’t use any of it.

By the time he realized this, the great crow demon was already before him, striking him down with one wing.

“Common Fei!” Xu Shen shouted.

The great crow demon tried to pursue downward but was struck by a broom flying from above. It made an angry sound, spinning in mid-air and flying back up.

It glared furiously at Yue Liang Ze who had attacked it, opened its mouth, and emitted a thin, shrill cry, resembling a roar. Its wings flapped powerfully, sending dozens of black feathers flying toward Yue Liang Ze, each carrying killing intent.

Fortunately, by this time Yue Liang Ze had pulled Xu Shen up and was hanging on the iron chain, moving to avoid the flying black feathers.

Seeing it had failed to hurt him, the great crow demon opened its mouth, spewing fierce flames toward Yue Liang Ze. As it flew, changing direction, forcing Yue Liang Ze to move along the mountain wall, its long, massive wings created violent winds that swept Xu Shen, who was clinging to the mountain wall, downward.

Ling Luo frowned slightly when she saw the great crow demon spread its wings and force Yue Liang Ze down the mountain wall.

Although the Saha Realm prohibited the spiritual power of Tian Ji’s disciples, it had protective mechanisms. Even if you fell from the highest point, you wouldn’t die—a barrier would be triggered to catch you.

But the trigger mechanism only worked if you fell from the mountain wall, and only from a certain height.

If your neck was bitten off by the great crow demon, this protective mechanism would be powerless to help.

Yue Liang Ze’s earlier attack on the great crow demon had angered it, and now it was targeting him primarily. Seeing him fall, it didn’t let up, increasing its speed to dive down, opening its mouth to bite through his neck.

The great crow demon’s diving speed almost matched Yue Liang Ze’s falling speed, but then Yue Liang Ze calmly grabbed another iron chain, instantly using the momentum to flip upward. As he barely brushed past the great crow demon’s side, he leaped onto its left wing.

Now on the great crow demon’s wing, he glanced over to see that Xu Shen and Common Fei, who had fallen earlier, were both safe and hanging on the mountain wall. He then turned his attention back to the great crow demon.

The great crow demon outmaneuvered, roared in anger, and began flapping its wings vigorously, trying to throw the young man off.

Common Fei grabbed Xu Shen’s hand and pulled him up. Seeing Yue Liang Ze matching wits and courage with the great crow demon, he drew in a sharp breath and hissed: “It did appear here. We’re finished—the Saha Realm has barriers preventing us from using our spiritual power and cultivation!”

“Just wait a bit longer. The one who triggered it and the hall masters will come soon,” Xu Shen climbed back onto the mountain wall, grabbing the iron chain again. “We need to go down first. Being on the mountain wall puts us at a disadvantage.”

“But what about Senior Brother Yue?” Common Fei asked.

Just as the words left his mouth, the great crow demon’s angry roar rose again. After several failed attempts to shake off Yue Liang Ze, its anger grew rapidly, and it began spewing fire, flying upside down through the air.

Yue Liang Ze was tossed about, but held firmly to the wing, calmly using every opportunity to stabilize himself and avoid being thrown off.

When Ling Luo slid down to the position of Yue Liang Ze and the great crow demon, she saw the compartment where Qing Shun had been imprisoned earlier. He had already been pulled back behind the sliding door into purgatory for punishment.

Qing Shun’s rest time was very brief.

“Ling Luo!” Common Fei saw her coming down and pointed, “Senior Brother Yue is over there!”

Ling Luo glanced over and said, “You two go down first.”

“What are you planning to do? Fight the great crow demon? We don’t have spiritual power here…” Before Common Fei could finish, Ling Luo shouted fiercely at the great crow demon, “Come here!”

Common Fei thought to himself, why are you provoking it?

The great crow demon, already furious, grew even more enraged when it heard her command. Now even cats and dogs dared to yell at it!

So the great crow demon opened its mouth, turned back toward Ling Luo, and spewed fire. The intense heat of the flames made Common Fei and Xu Shen instinctively raise their hands to shield themselves.

The great crow demon spewed fire while flying toward Ling Luo, intending to bite through the neck of this foolish human and then swallow her head in one gulp for a satisfying feast.

“Ling Luo!” Common Fei’s face turned deathly pale, thinking it was over—Ling Luo would likely be roasted to a crisp. Why hadn’t the Third Sect Leader come to save his little disciple yet?

But just as the great crow demon extended its head through the fire, opening its mouth to bite, Ling Luo used the momentum to leap out from the flames. Yue Liang Ze, on the demon’s wing, instinctively reached out and caught her.

Common Fei and Xu Shen were stunned to see Ling Luo jump onto the great crow demon’s wing.

“Quickly, get down!” Xu Shen was the first to come to his senses, pulling Common Fei downward.

The great crow demon went berserk, rapidly descending, still trying to throw the two people off.

Ling Luo lowered her body to avoid the strong wind and said to Yue Liang Ze: “Hold on tight yourself!”

Yue Liang Ze looked up at her. Ling Luo took a deep breath, waited for the right moment, then grabbed the great crow demon’s large wing feathers and moved to its back. Just as her hands were about to form a seal, the great crow demon suddenly tilted upward, forcing her to lie flat to avoid being thrown off.

In this critical moment, Common Fei and Xu Shen were descending rapidly. Everyone knew about the Saha Realm’s protective mechanism, so when the great crow demon spread its wings and charged toward them, they simply let go and fell.

Song Yuan Yuan on the ground had already sensed something ominous. When he saw the enormous wings blocking the sky above and heard the piercing cries, he was stunned. Then, seeing his two familiar sect brothers falling from above, he was shocked with cold sweat.

Song Yuan Yuan hurriedly tried to catch them but saw a pillar of light rising from the ground. Common Fei and Xu Shen were enveloped in a barrier of spiritual energy, landing safely and unharmed.

“What happened? What happened?” Song Yuan Yuan supported the two, “What’s going on?”

“Great Crow Demon!” Xu Shen said, “The Chaotic Myriad of Demons from the Heaven-Devouring Tower manifested here. Ling Luo and Senior Brother Yue are on the great crow demon.”

“What?” Song Yuan Yuan wailed, “This place restricts spiritual power and cultivation. Will those two survive up there?”

Common Fei, however, rubbed his hands excitedly: “I think they have a chance. This is a creature that drops divine weapons! Divine weapons! One hundred and sixty million! We can’t miss this opportunity to fight it!”

“What one hundred and sixty million?” Song Yuan Yuan asked, scratching his head.

Common Fei made a gesture with his fingers: “The price of divine weapons! One hundred and sixty million—doesn’t that excite you?”

Song Yuan Yuan exclaimed: “That much?! Then those two—”

Before he could finish, the great crow demon howled and flew toward them. With a sweep of its wings, feathered blades flew toward the three, creating deep indentations even in the mountain wall.

At this moment, Ling Luo leaned over and shouted to the three below: “Iron chains!”

To control the great crow demon, they first needed to break its enormous wings, restricting its flight. A grounded crow demon is no better than a dog—what would there be to fear then?

Common Fei and Xu Shen reacted quickly, immediately separating to follow her instructions, looking for the right opportunity to throw the iron chains at the two.

Song Yuan Yuan, his face pale, said: “I-I don’t dare climb up!”

Ling Luo, pressing her body down, said irritably: “Find a way to attract its attention! Make it fly lower!”

Song Yuan Yuan clenched his fist: “I can be bait! Come on, one hundred and sixty million!”

The group’s coordination was surprisingly seamless. Even without spiritual power and cultivation, their foundation of training remained, making them several times stronger than ordinary people.

Although Song Yuan Yuan was somewhat chubby, he ran quite fast, throwing things at the great crow demon while taunting to draw its hatred: “Come and get me, you stupid thing! Look at you, neither crow nor sparrow, with three eyes—you ugly freak! You low-level demon even trying to imitate the appearance of the true Lord Erlang—you’re shameless!”

The great crow demon was utterly exasperated, roaring in anger. It temporarily ignored the two people on its wing, choosing instead to chase after Song Yuan Yuan.

Song Yuan Yuan ran while screaming: “Come on! If you can’t catch your grandpa today, you’re a pig! Dumber than a spotted pig!”

Great Crow Demon: How outrageous!

You’re the pig!

How can a pig be compared to a crow?

The great crow demon went berserk, flying extremely low, but not completely losing its rationality. It would make short passes and then gain altitude again.

Song Yuan Yuan dodged its feathered blade attacks, finally being knocked down by the fierce wind. Fortunately, he rolled to the side quickly enough, or he would have been grabbed by the great crow demon’s claws and sent straight to its mouth.

“Hahaha, can’t catch me, can you, ugly freak!”

Song Yuan Yuan was risking it all for that one hundred and sixty million!

Thanks to Song Yuan Yuan’s taunting, the great crow demon pursued him relentlessly. During its low flight, Common Fei and Xu Shen seized the opportunity to throw iron chains to Yue Liang Ze and Ling Luo on its wings.

The mountain wall’s iron chains were made of special iron, tough and not easily broken. One or two chains alone couldn’t subdue the great crow demon’s enormous wings.

At first, the great crow demon wasn’t concerned, but gradually its wings were entangled with six or seven chains, each flight accompanied by the crisp sound of clanking iron.

The great crow demon began to grow impatient and turned to target the two people causing trouble on its wings, but it was already too late.

Ling Luo had reached its back, her hands forming seals quickly. Yue Liang Ze beside her couldn’t even see the sequence of the seal formation. Ling Luo’s fingertips flashed with a luminous flow of light as she pressed one finger onto multiple acupoints on the great crow demon’s back. The previously stable-flying great crow demon let out a miserable howl, half of its body dropping.

Seeing her begin to act, Yue Liang Ze called to the two on the mountain wall: “Pull tight!”

The great crow demon began to struggle desperately, turning its head to try to bite through the iron chains, but it faced Ling Luo who had slid down from its back.

The final confrontation between the person and demon ended with Ling Luo using a dagger to cut off its tongue, eliminating the source of its fire attacks.

The great crow demon’s wail became strange, blood splashing onto the mountain wall and ground.

Yue Liang Ze and Ling Luo worked together to break the great crow demon’s wings, causing it to crash to the ground. The great crow demon tried to flap its wings to fly, but with broken wing bones, it couldn’t even manage to swing them.

“Heavens!” Song Yuan Yuan collapsed on the ground, excitedly pumping his fist, “We won!”

Common Fei was the happiest, excitedly hugging Xu Shen, who had just descended from the mountain wall, and howled: “One hundred and sixty million, woo-hoo!”

Yue Liang Ze jumped from the great crow demon’s back to the ground, looked up at Ling Luo finding her balance on the great crow demon’s back, and extended his hand to her.

Ling Luo gave him a sidelong glance, and just as she reached out her hand, she heard the sound of something cutting through the air—a long sword flying toward her. Yue Liang Ze reacted with lightning speed, pulling her hand to bring her down, avoiding the sword.

The long sword pierced straight into the mountain wall, and a cold female voice echoed through the valley: “Who dares to break the rules by killing this great crow demon?”
