Mu Yunjin walked out the door in the direction the waiter had pointed. As she stepped outside, the first thing she saw was the Flower Moon Tower diagonally across.
Looking at this Flower Moon Tower, Mu Yunjin’s eyes revealed deep thought. After pausing for a moment, she pulled out a silk handkerchief to cover her face, then quickly walked toward the western part of the city.
When passing in front of the Flower Moon Tower, Mu Yunjin deliberately glanced inside. Li Niang was currently standing with her back to the door, laughing and talking with a customer.
Mu Yunjin furrowed her brows, biting her lip, secretly calculating how to investigate the background of this Flower Moon Tower.
After arriving at the Qing Mansion gate indicated by the waiter, Mu Yunjin instinctively looked around, then examined the residence called Qing Mansion up and down.
The mansion’s main gate was tightly closed, but one could see a two-story building inside. The building was covered with green vines, truly living up to the mansion’s name – everything was green.
After Mu Yunjin stood at the gate for a while, the door opened with a creak, and an old woman with a hunched back walked out.
Upon seeing Mu Yunjin, the old woman smiled and spoke in a hoarse voice, “Is the young lady the new owner of Qing Mansion?”
“Yes.” Mu Yunjin nodded while taking the property deed from her sleeve and handing it to the old woman.
…
…
The old woman took the deed, opened it to look, then nodded and bowed to Mu Yunjin, “Now that someone has taken over this place, this old woman can finally retire with my duty fulfilled.”
“Now, let this old woman first give the young lady a tour.”
After speaking, the old woman turned and reentered the gate. Mu Yunjin followed behind her into Qing Mansion.
Upon entering, Mu Yunjin saw a small path paved with pebbles leading directly to the main hall ahead, with flowers and plants planted on both sides of the path.
Walking along the pebble path, Mu Yunjin noticed several houses scattered around, with more flowers and plants outside each house.
“Grandmother, what did the previous owner of this place do?” Mu Yunjin asked curiously, looking at all the flowers and plants. She casually picked a pink camellia and gently smelled it.
The old woman stopped and looked at Mu Yunjin, “The original owner of Qing Mansion was a woman known as Miss Qing. She always loved natural things like flowers and plants, so she planted Qing Mansion full of them and named it Qing Mansion accordingly.”
Mu Yunjin nodded in understanding. When they reached the backyard, she saw a babbling pool surrounded by flowers of all kinds, exuding a fresh fragrance.
She had to admit, Mu Yunjin immediately fell in love with this place.
“This is all of Qing Mansion. As for future living arrangements, that will be up to the young lady herself.” The old woman finished her introduction and quietly looked at Mu Yunjin.
Mu Yunjin pressed her lips together and nodded, lowering her eyes to look at the old woman, smiling, “What should I call you, Grandmother?”
“This old woman’s surname is Ye,” the old woman said.
“Grandmother Ye, how long have you been at Qing Mansion?” Mu Yunjin asked.
Grandmother Ye smiled, “More than three years. Before Miss Qing left, she gave this old woman quite a bit of silver, entrusting me to guard Qing Mansion and wait for its new owner. Now I’ve finally fulfilled that duty.”
Mu Yunjin understood.
“Well, now that Qing Mansion has a new owner, this old woman should not stay any longer. I will take my leave now.” After saying this, Grandmother Ye turned and walked back along the pebble path.
Mu Yunjin did not try to keep her and wandered around Qing Mansion alone.
Walking to the two-story building she had seen earlier, Mu Yunjin looked at the wall covered with green vines and frowned slightly.
“There are so many of these climbing vines, it’s a bit creepy.” With that thought, Mu Yunjin pouted.
…
After touring Qing Mansion thoroughly, Mu Yunjin left satisfied, thinking that after parting ways with Chu Li, she would settle in this Qing Mansion.
After stepping out, Mu Yunjin locked the main gate of Qing Mansion and walked toward the Green Shade Tavern.
As she was about to pass in front of the Flower Moon Tower again, Mu Yunjin saw a familiar figure at a corner nearby…
Seeing that fleeting glimpse, Mu Yunjin stopped, bit her lip, and her eyes revealed deep thought.
Chu Qingzang, what was she doing here?
With this thought, Mu Yunjin felt inexplicably excited. She had been worrying about how to investigate the Flower Moon Tower, and Chu Qingzang had appeared at just the right time!
Just as she was about to follow in the direction where the figure had disappeared, a hand gently rested on Mu Yunjin’s shoulder.
Mu Yunjin instinctively tried to elbow the person’s chest, but her wrist was caught, and then a familiar voice sounded in her ear, “Mu Yunjin…”
Hearing Chu Li’s voice, Mu Yunjin sighed in relief, turned around to look at Chu Li, who was standing behind her, and put on a smile, “Why did you come out?”
Chu Li glanced at Mu Yunjin, a trace of awkwardness flashed across his face as he looked away and coughed lightly, “Where are you going?”
“I…” Mu Yunjin hesitated, but after thinking it through, Chu Li wasn’t really an outsider anymore, so there was no harm in telling him.
With that thought, she mysteriously pulled Chu Li aside. Leaning against the corner of the wall, Mu Yunjin spoke softly, “Chu Qingzang and this Flower Moon Tower have a connection. That madam of Flower Moon Tower, Li Niang, respects her as a master. Last time, she almost sold me to that Li Niang…”
After hearing Mu Yunjin’s words, Chu Li’s already frost-white face added several degrees of coldness, his whole body exuding low pressure as he fixed his gaze on Mu Yunjin.
Mu Yunjin felt uncomfortable under his icy gaze and shrank her neck slightly, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You said she almost sold you?” Chu Li spoke almost word by word.
“Yes, and she even brought out her hidden guards. Fortunately, I had the Purple Armor Guards you gave me, so I could stand against her.” Thinking of Chu Qingzang’s frustrated face that day, Mu Yunjin still found it amusing.
After laughing for a while, Mu Yunjin exclaimed, pulling Chu Li’s sleeve, “I almost forgot the main thing, I just saw Chu Qingzang…”
…
A quarter of an hour later.
“Chu Li, are you sure about this?”
Mu Yunjin and Chu Li stood behind a large tree at the back door of the Flower Moon Tower. Mu Yunjin’s hands were tightly holding the tree trunk, her brows furrowed, her face full of reluctance.
Chu Li glanced at her two arms exposed outside, nodded solemnly, “If you want to successfully infiltrate this Flower Moon Tower, this is the best method.”
As he finished speaking, Chu Li waved the folding fan in his hand, hiding his handsome face and revealing only a pair of sharp eyes.
“If you don’t come out now, you won’t be able to investigate anything,” Chu Li said with a slight curl of his lips, seeing she wasn’t moving.
“Alright, alright.” Mu Yunjin pouted. Although she was extremely unwilling, she still slowly walked out from behind the big tree.
At this moment, she was wearing a red gauze dress, with both arms and legs almost covered, only by gauze, faintly visible. The only fabric merely covered her chest and thighs.
On her face, she had deliberately deepened the rouge, and her lips, like her dress, were dyed bright red, exuding an undisguised charm.
Mu Yunjin adjusted her dress, bit her lip, and silently cursed Chu Li. This fellow’s plan was truly extreme, actually making her disguise herself as a brothel woman to infiltrate…
Tsk, she had lost too much recently. She would have to extort a sum from Chu Li when they got back.
“Let’s go in,” Chu Li said, seeing her come out. He glanced at Mu Yunjin, his eyes revealing a trace of awkwardness, then stepped toward the back door.
Seeing him walk off alone, Mu Yunjin immediately went forward and hooked her arm through Chu Li’s, muttering, “We should at least make it look convincing.”
Chu Li was startled. He lowered his eyes to look at the person hooking his arm, and a trace of unclear emotion flashed in his eyes. Then he withdrew his hooked arm and instead put it around Mu Yunjin’s shoulders, bringing her into his embrace.
Being suddenly embraced by Chu Li and nestled in his arms, Mu Yunjin immediately raised the red silk handkerchief in her hand to cover her face, pretending to be shy and giggling, but her face truly turned red.
The two entered through the back door. Along the way, they encountered several managers of the Flower Moon Tower, but did not arouse any suspicion.
After entering, Mu Yunjin’s eyes kept moving around. After seeing nothing unusual on the first-floor hall, she went up to the second floor with Chu Li.
The second floor consisted of individual rooms. At this moment, apart from the murmuring sounds coming from inside the rooms, the corridor was empty.
Mu Yunjin suddenly found it difficult. The Flower Moon Tower was so large, finding Chu Qingzang was truly like looking for a needle in a haystack.
“Go to the third floor,” Chu Li said to Mu Yunjin in a cold voice, almost without hesitation.
Mu Yunjin nodded. After the two found the entrance to the third-floor stairs, they saw several big men standing at the stairway, holding swords in their hands.
Seeing those men, Mu Yunjin’s heart trembled. She had seen these people before – they were the ones Li Niang had brought to Butterfly Flower City that day.
This meant Chu Qingzang should be on the third floor.
The two changed direction, pretending to pass by the third-floor stairway. After walking to a corner, Mu Yunjin lowered her voice and said, “There are only four people there. Should we deal with them directly?”
Mu Yunjin guessed that because there hadn’t been any incidents in the past, Chu Qingzang hadn’t made much preparation and had only assigned four people to guard the door.
“Did you bring your silver needles?” Chu Li lowered his eyes, his chin brushing against Mu Yunjin’s head. From this angle, he could see Mu Yunjin’s faintly visible figure.
Chu Li’s face immediately became awkward, and he looked away, the roots of his ears turning slightly red.
“I brought them,” Mu Yunjin nodded, untying her waistband. The waistband was full of silver needles, one by one.
Chu Li casually took four silver needles and teased, “Carrying so many silver needles on your body, aren’t you afraid of hurting yourself?”
“It’s not like they’ll kill me,” Mu Yunjin said indifferently, putting the silver needles back at her waist.
“What do you need the silver needles for?” Mu Yunjin added.
Chu Li didn’t answer Mu Yunjin’s question. He took her back to the third-floor stairway entrance. Before they got close to the stairs, his wrist flicked, and all four silver needles flew from Chu Li’s palm.
“Let’s go,” Chu Li said with a slight curl at the corner of his mouth as he walked toward the stairs.
Mu Yunjin was stunned and looked at Chu Li uncomprehendingly. When they reached the stairs, she saw that the original four big men were still standing there with their eyes wide open.
“This…” Mu Yunjin took a step back.
“Their mute acupoints and bone acupoints have been sealed. They cannot speak or move now…”
