“Master White, how do you feel now?”
“Water God, don’t rush… Ah, I’m sensing something.”
“What do you sense? Can you describe it in detail?”
In the Blood Sea, just three thousand miles from that blood-colored light pillar, nine figures stood silently, watching Li Changshou and White Marsh busying themselves a hundred zhang ahead.
White Marsh had now revealed his true form, the vertical horn on his forehead continuously flashing with light, three rainbow-colored long feathers floating around him, keeping the Blood Sea’s polluted water ten zhang away.
With the Great Tribulation descending and heavenly mechanisms confused, divination and calculations had lost their effectiveness, making the unique divine abilities of auspicious beasts like White Marsh incredibly precious.
At this moment, White Marsh was under immense pressure.
He truly feared sensing wrongly and leading this group of top Sage disciples from the Dao School into a trap.
These Sage disciples were all treasures of the three sects. If anything happened to them, he, White Marsh, would surely be skinned and have his tendons extracted by the Sage masters!
But White Marsh sensed left and right, striving to feel that great city three thousand miles away…
“There isn’t any sense of danger.”
White Marsh said: “When I sense myself, sense Water God and all fellow Daoists, there’s no fortune or misfortune ahead… very plain.”
Li Changshou crossed his arms and thought for a while, then said: “This isn’t right, it doesn’t make sense at all.
Why would those few experts make such a grand display exposing their whereabouts, waiting for us to arrive… Could they have means to trap us?”
“Water God,” White Marsh asked, “Could it be that from beginning to end, this was all the Asura race’s scheme?
They want to make a desperate attempt, but to the Dao School it’s merely overestimating themselves, which is why this poor Daoist feels neither fortune nor misfortune ahead?”
“Could it be that Sages can influence your divine ability?”
“There should at least be traces of Sage’s action,” White Marsh looked down at himself with doubt, suddenly becoming somewhat uncertain.
Had he been influenced?
Li Changshou pondered back and forth, still feeling somewhat uneasy.
If the Western Sect truly ‘knew better than to continue,’ there would likely be some formidable expert ahead that made them abandon the Crimson Lotus.
Even fragments of the ancient Slaughter God Spear had appeared; if a Demon Ancestor’s remnant soul jumped out later, it wouldn’t be too surprising.
Li Changshou naturally knew that his exposure to the primordial world had always been somewhat ‘one-sided.’
After ancient times, with the Dao School’s rise, humanity’s rise, and Heaven’s Path’s evolution, many fierce figures had disappeared from heaven and earth;
Just as most primordial fierce beasts had fled far into the Chaos Sea, and even Monster Teacher Kun Peng now roamed the Chaos Sea, those beings of particularly fierce nature were either erased by Heaven’s Path or fled far away.
The primordial world’s experts weren’t just Sage disciples, it’s just that now Sage disciples occupied the ‘absolute dominant position.’
This Blood Sea, this Crimson Lotus, might well draw out all sorts of demons and monsters, ancient fierce beings.
[The untraceable third Crimson Lotus seed…
The wielder of the minor Slaughter God Spear who could escape from Great Master and nearly take half the life of Golden-Winged Great Peng…
The blood-colored light pillar now boldly displayed…]
Better to be extra careful.
Li Changshou turned and asked: “Senior Brother, is the Twelve-Petaled Crimson Lotus here?”
“Definitely.”
The first to answer Li Changshou was the Taiji Diagram’s spiritual consciousness.
The Great Master also said: “Your elder brother has crossed hands with Blood River Ancestor before, and has also blasted the Twelve-Petaled Crimson Lotus with magical power, this much can be certain.
The Crimson Lotus should be not far ahead, and though Blood River Ancestor’s aura is faint, it exists.”
Li Changshou pondered for a few moments, then said slowly:
“Since Master White can’t sense clear fortune or misfortune, let’s all stay closer to Master White later, to avoid falling into schemes… Everyone prepare whatever treasures you’ll need in advance, let’s be as steady as possible.”
“Good.”
Great Master Xuandu agreed, placing the Taiji Diagram on his back and drawing a three-foot green sword from his sleeve, its blade already covered in rust.
Immortal Lady Yun Xiao took out the Primal Origin Golden Dipper, shrinking it to palm size and holding it in her hand, gently blinking at Li Changshou.
One glance of autumn waters cut shallow shadows, disturbing my spirit and increasing my worry.
Golden Spirit Sacred Mother gripped the Dragon Tiger Jade Ruyi, Matchless Sacred Mother held a short cyan staff, and a certain ‘Sacred Mother Killer’ True Person Broad Accomplishment’s palm lifted the Heaven-Turning Seal…
Zhao Gongming only took out his Metal and Wood Whip; the Sea-Calming Divine Zhenzhu had become skilled at control through repeated “primordial social experiments” named “Lie Down.”
True Person Jade Tripod was simplest, a small tripod appearing above his head, releasing streams of energy to protect himself.
And red-robed True Person Taiji stood to the side, rummaging through his sleeve in difficulty…
His most handy items were the Golden Brick, the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Bell, or the Fire-Point Spear, Heaven-Earth Ring, Chaos-Sky Silk… and so on, all treasures of similar rank, all rare ‘good items.’
Just then, True Person Taiji heard muttering from the side – it was Dao Lord Many Treasures mumbling:
“Ah, should I favor this side today, or favor that side, it’s truly a problem.”
True Person Taiji couldn’t help but lean closer, smiling: “Senior Brother Many Treasures, also can’t decide which treasure to use?”
“Hmm?”
Many Treasures looked up with a smile, continuing to search through his sleeve, casually answering:
“Speaking of ‘which’ is wrong, your elder brother is considering whether to use this warehouse of treasures against enemies today or use that warehouse of treasures.
Each warehouse averages only one or two thousand pieces, all unambitious spiritual treasures, hehe.”
True Person Taiji’s forehead was covered in black lines as he stood there unable to recover for a while until True Person Jade Tripod called from the side, and he followed along dejectedly.
Three thousand miles was but a finger-snap of time for these experts.
However, just as they were about to reach that great city, Great Master Xuandu, flying at the front, raised his hand in a gesture, and the crowd of immortals immediately stopped, looking toward where Xuandu’s gaze was directed.
The Blood Sea churned, breaking open a path as streams of light shot over, wrapped around several hundred Asura race men and women of varying cultivation levels.
Just as Li Changshou and the others thought these Asura race men, women, elderly, and young were coming to reinforce this place, these several hundred figures, without looking back or showing any hesitation, directly crashed into that blood-colored light pillar that pierced through the Blood Sea.
They dissolved almost instantly…
The disappearance of several hundred living beings, was so easy, without any ripples.
“This!”
Zhao Gongming cursed: “Is Blood River Ancestor so heartless?”
Dao Lord Many Treasures took out a bronze mirror, his carrot-like fingers moving like phantoms over various spots on the mirror, showing the situation within a hundred thousand miles.
Waves of blood-colored tides shuttled through the Blood Sea, countless Asuras surging toward this place!
White Marsh said: “Looking at this, Blood River Ancestor has made full preparations for his resurrection.
The Crimson Lotus serves as his divine soul, the Asura race replenishes his magical power, allowing him to directly restore to his peak.”
Golden Spirit Sacred Mother frowned and said: “This is too cruel.”
“Finally understood one thing,” True Person Taiji’s mouth twitched, “No wonder this old thing imitated Goddess Nuwa in creating humans, making his own Asura race, yet received no merit from Heaven’s Path.”
The Great Master sighed, “The Asura race was initially just Blood Divine Children.”
But Li Changshou didn’t reflect on these matters, he directly said:
“In that case, I can be somewhat more at ease now.
Their such blatant exposure of whereabouts likely isn’t to attract us over, but rather they’re certain we can find this place. Blood River Ancestor wants to make an all-out effort, sacrificing the Asura race to fight for a chance at life.
Why don’t we split into two routes, one to destroy this light pillar or stop those Asuras from approaching, one to directly take the Crimson Lotus!”
But True Person Broad Accomplishment said: “The path ahead is unclear – splitting forces is unwise. Better to stay together.
I’ve already sensed several powerful pressures; there seem to be two long-lost ancient fierce beasts in the city.”
Li Changshou pondered briefly, then nodded in agreement.
This was indeed more steady.
Golden Spirit Sacred Mother said “Quick battle, quick decision,” and the ten top experts of the Dao School, plus one auspicious beast, rapidly approached the great city ahead.
Li Changshou had White Marsh report fortune or misfortune every three breaths, his spiritual power stretched to the limit.
…
Li Changshou smelled the blood scent from far away…
The great city ahead seemed unchanged from when he last saw it; he could spot the corner where he had hidden last time at a glance.
Li Changshou could even remember every position where the patrolling Asura race experts had been during his previous visit.
But now, the great city was empty;
Only that abandoned palace in the city center emanated pressure, with that blood-colored pillar of light shooting skyward above it.
Li Changshou silently recited his steadiness sutra in his heart, aroused his void-clarity Dao heart, and deliberately fell two steps behind, staying closer to Immortal Lady Yun Xiao.
The group easily entered the city’s bounds, without any obstruction.
Was it, perhaps, too smooth?
But the Taiji Diagram and other supreme treasures gave no warning, the three Senior Brothers were here, and everyone besides True Person Taiji was a top expert…
Perhaps he was being too suspicious…
Li Changshou thought thus.
Four black shadows walked out from that great hall, releasing four fierce pressures, with one of them giving them a cold snort.
In response, they naturally had to show their cultivation.
The three Senior Brothers of the Dao School maintained their composure, Li Changshou and White Marsh were the strategists, and the other six experts simultaneously released their auras and pressures.
In an instant, Golden Spirit Sacred Mother, Immortal Lady Yun Xiao, Zhao Gongming, Matchless Sacred Mother, and True Person Jade Tripod were like five towering mountains, easily suppressing those four auras.
A certain True Person Taiji, whose aura was like a small mountain, quietly walked to Li Changshou and White Marsh’s side.
These days, who doesn’t rely on talking big to make their name?
Dao Lord Many Treasures gave a light shout: “The Dao School acts, demons and monsters retreat!”
A rough, deep voice sounded from before that great hall: “Just with you lot?”
“Indeed, just with us! Severing Sect immortals, forward!”
Dao Lord Many Treasures raised his left hand high, points of starlight bursting from his sleeve as he led Zhao Gongming, Immortal Lady Yun Xiao, Golden Spirit Sacred Mother, and Matchless Sacred Mother charging forward together.
In an instant, various great deities displayed their divine abilities, with all sorts of treasure lights flashing chaotically!
Around Zhao Gongming, twenty-four Sea-Calming Divine Zhenzhus gleamed with water-blue light, Golden Spirit Sacred Mother revealed her six-armed dharma body with a cold expression on her beautiful face, Immortal Lady Yun Xiao had faint clouds rising around her, and the Primal Origin Golden Dipper cast out ten thousand zhang of golden light…
“Something’s wrong.”
Li Changshou muttered, frowning as he watched Yun Xiao’s back.
He wouldn’t doubt the strength of these five top experts of the Severing Sect; in the cultivation realm, dao boundary, treasures, and destiny, they had no shortcomings.
But in this situation, Li Changshou just felt something wasn’t quite right.
Would those fierce beings who survived from primordial and ancient times truly have the spirit to “knowingly walk into a tiger’s den”? Would they have the courage to directly provoke the Dao School’s nine top experts?
When Li Changshou had earlier asked his Senior Brothers and Sisters to take out their treasures, it was actually to increase their side’s momentum, making the opponent retreat in the face of difficulty.
Now as he observed everywhere, his mental strength was already stretched to the limit, continuously asked White Marsh and Pagoda Lord, and they both said there wasn’t the slightest danger ahead.
A flash of inspiration struck his mind, and Li Changshou suddenly shouted:
“Wait!”
The five figures ahead showed no response whatsoever!
The Great Master’s brows were tightly furrowed as his left hand clenched into a fist, gently striking out several streams of yin-yang energy toward the front!
The entire image of the great city shuddered several times – the broken walls and ruins in the city, that abandoned great hall and the light pillar above it, the four figures before the hall, the five charging Severing Sect experts…
All collapsed and dispersed simultaneously, transforming into patches of gray mist.
Cloud!
Li Changshou instinctively rushed forward half a step, but his shoulder was gripped by the Great Master’s large hand and pulled back behind him.
The Great Master immediately said: “Don’t scatter, they’re fine, everyone stay close to me.”
As he spoke, the Taiji Diagram slowly opened, expanding to ten zhang in diameter, covering Li Changshou, the Great Master, the three Enlightenment Sect immortals, and White Marsh together.
“This…”
True Person Broad Accomplishment looked around, sending out a stream of light from his hand.
As this stream of light dispersed, the surrounding gray clouds retreated, noise transmitted from all around, and this great city abandoned since ancient times seemed to come alive, with broken walls and ruins continuously ‘growing.’
Almost instantly, the great city restored to its prosperity from ages past, with beautiful men and women walking everywhere, scenes of children playing and elders chatting visible everywhere, and many Asuras even smiling at them…
True Person Broad Accomplishment frowned, casually pointing out a stream of light that hit two passing Asuras on the side, shooting through one Asura’s shoulder.
The target screamed in pain, hastily retreating.
The entire street immediately fell into chaos, with a group of Asuras shouting “wo wo ya ya” as they surrounded them here, seemingly accusing…
Behind the Great Master, Li Changshou had somehow already sat down cross-legged, the Xuanhuang Pagoda above his head, eyes closed in concentration.
Fortunately, with his void-clarity Dao heart, Li Changshou maintained constant calmness, the impulse and anxiety from just now already dissipated like smoke.
Formation? Divine ability?
Or an illusion?
Surprisingly discovering he could still connect with his paper avatar, Li Changshou immediately sensed the paper avatar left by Yun Xiao’s side, calling out several times:
“Yun Xiao, Yun Xiao?”
“I’m here,” Yun Xiao’s gentle voice came through, as Li Changshou’s paper avatar was pinched out of a pouch. Through the paper avatar, he saw the situation Yun Xiao and the others were in.
They had also fallen into a great city, though this city had already been reduced to ruins again under Dao Lord Many Treasures’ saturated bombardment of flying treasures.
Li Changshou instructed: “Tell everyone not to scatter, this could be an incredibly profound trapping formation.”
“Mm,” Yun Xiao smiled gently, saying softly, “Take care of yourself too, everything is fine here, don’t let Ling’e worry.”
After giving a few more instructions, Li Changshou withdrew his consciousness and told the Great Master and others what had happened there.
“They should have fallen into another illusion…”
Something wasn’t right.
Why did Yun Xiao just mention Ling’e?
Li Changshou was suddenly startled, his void-clarity Dao heart trembling slightly as he stared at the Great Master before him, then suddenly turned to stare at True Person Taiji on the side.
‘Great Master’ asked: “Changgen, what’s wrong?”
Li Changshou revealed a slight smile, saying gently: “Senior Brother, I’m fine, I’ll contact them again.”
Then, Li Changshou closed his eyes, carefully sensing each of his paper avatars.
All the paper avatars seemed normal, he could still monitor everywhere – Little Jade Peak, South Sea, East Sea, Heaven’s Court, Netherworld… everything was as usual.
But why would Yun Xiao mention Ling’e, who was unrelated to this matter, in such a situation and context?
And strangest of all, though the immortal lady was gentle, it depended on the occasion;
In a battle situation like just now, Yun Xiao’s normal expression should be [cold].
Li Changshou said nothing, moving his consciousness between paper avatars, continuously observing…
Everything was normal, yet everything felt wrong.
[Being in a predicament yet calmly searching for unusual aspects – isn’t that itself the most unusual?]
What was happening?
Li Changshou was good at self-reflection and continuously reflected, now examining himself with full effort, quickly discovering traces.
Why did these ‘Asuras’ act so much like ordinary mortals?
He opened his eyes and said: “Master White, please transform into human form.”
‘White Marsh’ tilted his head in puzzlement, then with immortal light flowing around him, transformed into a young woman, even giving Li Changshou a charming smile.
So it was indeed like this.
Li Changshou looked down and pinched his thigh, clear pain transmitted to his mind, but Li Changshou then said:
“I say, there is no pain here.”
Holding his breath, he pinched his thigh again, and that pain showed a moment’s pause.
That confirmed it…
A dream.
Though he didn’t know when he had fallen for it or how the opponent had accomplished this, this was a dream realm and his solitary dream realm. The Great Master before him, Pagoda Lord’s voice, and so on, were all false.
Everything came from the Dao’s heart, everything followed the Dao heart’s intent, because this was his own dream realm, all constructed from the Dao heart’s conception…
What a formidable technique.
Li Changshou pondered for several moments, having already thought of a countermeasure to break the current dream realm.
Turning off the void-clarity Dao heart, carefully feeling his emotional fluctuations, then shaking his Dao heart, silently reciting the Taiqing Water Virtue Scripture.
Spirit returns to one – no things, no self,
Dao naturally arises – quiet and void-bright!
Void-clarity Dao heart, open!
Hum—
The surroundings seemed to spin as heaven and earth turned, his Divine Spirit continuously trembling, a strand of gray qi floating out from his Divine Spirit and silently dispersing.
Li Changshou suddenly opened his eyes to see the dark ‘sky vault’ and slowly rotating Taiji Diagram. A sweep with his immortal awareness made him let out a long sigh of relief.
He was now lying in a corner of the city wall, and to the side, sprawled in various positions, sitting or lying down, were all the Dao School experts who had come together, not one missing, all sound asleep.
Their breathing was steady, with treasures protecting each of them, and their bodies showed no injuries.
Several spiritual senses sounded in his mind – it was the Taiji Diagram’s light laughter:
“Not bad, little disciple, actually being the first to break free from the dream realm.”
Pagoda Lord also said: “A group of great Sage disciples, knocked out as soon as they entered the city, even the treasures feel ashamed for you!
Fortunately, little disciple you preserved the Dao School’s face!”
Li Changshou hurriedly asked in his mind: “What divine ability is this? How can we wake them?”
Now he could see that this great city was still as desolate as before, the blood-colored light pillar still there, but no figures before the great hall.
Another spiritual sense from the Taiji Diagram transmitted to Li Changshou’s mind, complaining:
“They have only themselves to blame for falling for it, having grown too complacent in heaven and earth, long forgetting there are all sorts of mysterious beings in the primordial world.
This place is arranged with some primordial source mirage qi from the Chaos Fierce Beast Phantom Mirage. This substance can induce spirits into dreams, cannot be detected or searched for, and even weaker Sages entering here would probably be trapped for a moment.
We couldn’t detect anything unusual before either, otherwise we would have warned you.
Such source mirage qi should be very difficult to collect, I estimate there must be Sage’s hand behind this – only Sages would have the means to obtain this substance.”
Li Changshou only asked: “How can we help them break free?”
Diagram Elder explained:
“Outsiders cannot assist.
The Phantom Mirage is one of the most troublesome fierce beasts in the Chaos Sea, but it has not the slightest divine ability or magical power, only able to release mirage qi, within which forms immortal realms that attract countless true spirits to cycle within, feeding on the true spirits.
Source mirage qi is originally the Phantom Mirage’s final means of self-preservation. Once affected, one must comprehend it oneself, otherwise one can only sink into the dream.
Don’t worry though, Big Disciple and the others aren’t low in enlightenment quality, they should wake up in at most three to five days.
I’m protecting this place, nothing will happen.”
It truly was that having an elder at home was like having a treasure, and treasures from the older generation were more formidable.
Li Changshou gazed at that light pillar for a while, his heart muttering…
Three to five days?
If the Asura race continuously came to deliver their lives, it would probably only take half a day for that Crimson Lotus to mature!
In other words, the Dao School’s batch of top experts… had been eliminated in advance?
This?!
Li Changshou couldn’t help but hold his forehead with one hand, turning to walk beside Immortal Lady Yun Xiao, looking closely at her peerlessly beautiful face, calling softly:
“Yun Xiao?”
Yun Xiao’s breathing was steady, seemingly murmuring gentle words in her dream.
Li Changshou leaned closer to listen, hearing clearly the words “kneel down,” making the corner of his mouth twitch instantly.
Looking again at Dao Lord Many Treasures, this Severing Sect Senior Brother had a face full of red glow, his body slightly squirming…
He was probably doing what he liked most in his dream.
Looking at True Person Broad Accomplishment again, he was in a cross-legged sitting position, obviously having discovered something unusual before being affected, but hadn’t had time to respond before succumbing.
As for his Senior Brother…
“Hoh—Shu—”
This wasn’t dreaming, right?
He just took the opportunity to fall into deep sleep, right?
Once with the Six Realms Wheel facing Desire’s incarnation, once here – could it be that the Great Master’s weakness was simply ‘sleeping whenever possible’!?
Li Changshou’s mouth twitched for a while. He draped a Daoist robe over Immortal Lady Yun Xiao, then stood up and walked to True Person Taiji’s side, who was lying collapsed against a broken wall.
Kicking True Person Taiji’s shin, Li Changshou called expressionlessly:
“Wake up, wake up… Ah, Spirit Zhenzhu Boy is having his wedding night with Jade Rabbit.”
True Person Taiji showed no reaction.
Li Changshou still wouldn’t give up. He casually pointed, pouring down a vat of ice water, then took out the Heaven and Earth Ruler to lightly tap True Person Taiji’s palm several times. Seeing True Person Taiji did not react, he even cast a few ‘small’ spells…
Under the Taiji Diagram’s pressure, treasures like the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Bell didn’t dare move recklessly.
Pagoda Lord couldn’t help asking: “Little disciple, do you have some grudge against Taiji or what?”
“No choice,” Li Changshou looked at the now unrecognizable True Person Taiji before him, muttering in his heart, “He’s the only one here I dare to offend.”
Pagoda Lord couldn’t help but smile.
Suddenly, Li Changshou sensed a gaze falling upon him.
He turned his head toward the great hall in the center of the ruins, where a black shadow stepped back twice, hiding in the hall.
“Hmph!”
Li Changshou snorted coldly, temporarily not paying much attention.
Those guarding the Crimson Lotus hadn’t expected someone to wake up so soon.
No help for it, Li Changshou’s frequency of self-reflection was truly a bit too high and having experienced the ‘pain of losing his teacher’ when controlled by tribulation fate, he had learned a lesson.
No, how could he be certain that his current situation wasn’t a dream?
Li Changshou thought carefully and found a solution that wasn’t a solution…
First making a Daoist salute upward, Li Changshou said clearly: “This disciple humbly requests the Heaven’s Path Lord to send down a light heavenly punishment!”
No response? Then change strategy.
“Heaven’s Path Lord, for those two portions of merit earlier, could we get it in writing?”
Boom!
The weather changed color beneath the Blood Sea as Heaven’s Path power condensed into a gray cloud, covering Li Changshou’s head and dropping down a thin Purple Void of Divine Thunder!
The Taiji Diagram and Xuanhuang Pagoda completely ignored it, letting the divine thunder strike Li Changshou’s forehead.
Shortly after, Li Changshou’s face was scorched black as he revealed a slightly satisfied smile, with strands of black smoke drifting from between his teeth.
This wasn’t a dream realm – the pain was extremely real, just that…
The gray cloud above showed no signs of dispersing.
Eh?
Li Changshou suddenly thought of something, turning his head to look at True Person Taiji beside him. He reached out to grab both True Person Taiji and White Marsh, who had maintained his true form while sleeping, pulling them before him and pressing down hard.
Crack!
A heavenly punishment divine thunder, accompanied by two miserable screams, flashed again in this great city…
In that abandoned great hall, four shadows observed the situation at the distant city edge where the Taiji Diagram covered, sheltered behind broken walls.
“Hiss—Was that mirage qi the Second Sect Master gave us fake?!”
“What divine sage is this youth, how could he wake up so quickly?”
“He is Heaven’s Court’s Water God, Taiqing Sage’s second disciple, a rising star of the Dao School in recent centuries – understandably, you wouldn’t know.”
“Heavenly punishment? Could it be he’s the same kind as us?”
The four fell into silence, wondering why at this critical moment, their originally self-perceived perfect plan seemed about to face variables…
…
Meanwhile, at the Blood Sea’s edge.
‘Auntie Wen, I’m sorry, but I must return.’
The girl under the cloak sighed, avoiding a patrol of Heaven’s soldiers ahead as her form quickly dove into the Blood Sea.
She had felt the Ancestor’s call.
As one of the few remaining princesses of the Asura race, she had to rush to the Ancestor’s side at this moment, to help the Ancestor’s resurrection with all her might.
The Ancestor had created them, given them life, and allowed them to ‘exist’ in the primordial world – dedicating themselves to the Ancestor was only natural.
She knew Auntie Wen’s jarring sarcasm was for her good.
Having left the sunless Blood Sea to become the Western Sect’s sword, wielding the Soul-Destroying Sword, she could already ignore Blood Sea matters.
But her tribespeople were there, her family was there.
This time Auntie Wen didn’t want her to come throw away her life… indeed, the girl already knew this journey was almost equivalent to courting death.
Going to oppose the Dao School, especially opposing that group of great disciples whose combined strength could almost slay a designated Sage, she might not even have a chance to draw her sword.
But this was her fate.
“Hmm?”
A somewhat deep voice suddenly sounded by her ear, and the girl rapidly traveling through the Blood Sea immediately went into hiding nearby.
She closed her eyes, and under the cloak, her small pointed ears trembled slightly, alertly exploring everywhere.
An expert – the opponent’s aura was erratic, she actually couldn’t lock onto it…
Suddenly!
“Why must Immortal Lady Jade Void hide like this, even changing your scent?
Senior Brother Changgen told me to watch over you, please don’t make things difficult for me.”
This deep voice was right behind her!
The girl under the cloak froze completely, a cold light flashing in her eyes as she whirled around, a sword light flashing out from under the cloak!
Only now did she see clearly that before she stood a ‘bull demon’ in human form, and the sword light she struck with was even faster than her gaze!
Clang!
With the sound of weapons clashing, that ‘bull demon’ – the Lord of Primal Beginning’s mount, the Green Bull of Doushuai Palace – gripped a steel spear with both hands, yet his mighty form was directly sent flying!
The Blood Sea churned up heaven-reaching waves for a hundred miles around!
“Soul-Destroying Sword?”
Green Bull exclaimed in shock, immediately scolding in a low voice: “Who are you?!”
The girl under the cloak completely ignored him, knowing she must quickly slay this bull. Her right hand gripped the Soul-Destroying Sword as her form transformed into a beam of rainbow light shooting forward.
Green Bull’s brows furrowed tightly, not daring to be careless at all now. He raised his hand to remove his nose ring, throwing it forward while chanting:
“Urgent as the law commands!”
The nose ring suddenly enlarged tenfold, bursting with dazzling golden light to reveal the true form of the Golden Band!
The Soul-Destroying Sword in the girl’s hand broke free of her right hand on its own, darting through the center of the Golden Band, its spirit immediately sealed!
And as the Golden Band pushed forward, it struck the girl’s form.
“My sword!”
The girl under the cloak paid no attention to anything else, her form immediately moving forward as Green Bull had already pounced over, throwing a punch at the girl’s form hidden under the cloak.
The Blood Sea’s polluted water was pushed back by immortal power as this punch carried great force and momentum – even a Golden Immortal of the Great Luo would be seriously injured if struck, and the Moon Palace’s Chang’e and companions would certainly be crying blood.
But!
The punch stopped just half an inch from the girl’s small nose tip as the gray cloak flew back, those strands of silver-white hair floating up.
Her palm-sized pretty face was white with a touch of red, but her crimson eyes held unwillingness and stubbornness.
Bull: …
The Blood Sea seemed to fall silent as Green Bull stared blankly at this scene before him, somehow hearing drumbeats rising in his heart.
Those drumbeats played out some musical phrases, seemingly singing…
A love song began to play in his heart.
