Chapter 579: People and People

“How distant!” The tank-top man walked forward and grabbed Tiantian’s arm, while Tiantian never dodged throughout. “Sister, we really aren’t bad people. You just rest here. I’ll see who dares to touch you!”

Tiantian narrowed her eyes and looked at the three men before her. Their expressions were all different—they should each have their own thoughts.

“Such a small building can’t accommodate so many people.” Tiantian still said with a smile, “Gentlemen, you rest. We’ll make room for you.”

“Hey!!” The tank-top man still firmly gripped Tiantian without letting go. “Big sister, you’re really being too distant. If the place is small, you can sit on my lap!”

After saying this, he sat down on the spot, one hand grabbing Tiantian, the other constantly patting his thigh. “Come, come, come!”

“Hey, Old Fang.” The middle-aged man in the suit behind them spoke up to stop him. “Don’t get handsy. When will you change this old habit?”

Hearing the suited man’s words, the man called Old Fang immediately released his hand, then turned back and laughed. “Ha, I’m just joking with the sister, aren’t I? You two know I’m someone who loves to joke around.”

The suited man walked straight into the room, then surveyed the interior environment. After confirming there was no one else, he also slowly sat down.

“Miss, sorry about that.” He looked up at Tiantian. “We don’t want to disturb you. Do as you please.”

“Alright, thank you.”

Tiantian felt this man in the suit seemed like someone she could still communicate with. She immediately nodded in acknowledgment, then pulled Zheng Yingxiong along. Zheng Yingxiong also turned back to pick up his backpack.

The two passed by the three men and were about to leave when the suited man suddenly spoke. “Wait.”

Tiantian froze slightly, then turned back to find him staring at the plastic water bottle Tiantian had placed on the ground.

“Oh, miss.” The suited man smiled. “I don’t mean anything else… I just saw you drinking water earlier and wanted to ask if you have any extra water?”

All three men before her were drenched in sweat. At this moment, a mouthful of water was more precious to them than gold.

After hearing this, Zheng Yingxiong earnestly took down the backpack from his back, then carefully rummaged through it. Then he raised his head and said, “None left.”

“Mm…” Tiantian nodded and looked up at the suited man. “Big brother, I’m sorry. We only had one bottle of water.”

“Fine. Leave the bag and go.” The suited man said.

This brief sentence made Tiantian freeze, but she quickly reacted. After exchanging glances with Zheng Yingxiong, she took his backpack off his back and carefully placed it on the ground, saying, “There’s some food in the bag. If you want it, take it. We’ll be going first.”

“Big sister, but…”

“It’s okay.” Tiantian interrupted Zheng Yingxiong, then reached out to touch his head. “These uncles also need to eat. Since we’re not hungry yet, let’s give it to them first.”

Tiantian’s words were forceful and resonant, as if speaking to Zheng Yingxiong while also making her attitude clear to the men.

Zheng Yingxiong very tactfully nodded, then said nothing more. The two pushed the bicycle toward the door.

“Leave the bicycle too.” The suited man in the lead spoke again.

Only now did Tiantian realize that among the three men, the most difficult one to deal with was neither the tall young man nor the sleazy man in the tank top, but rather this suited man who looked completely upright.

The air froze for a moment.

“Big brother, our base is some distance from here.” Tiantian smiled. “There are no more shelters nearby either. We need to get back to our base before dark, and we must rely on this bicycle.”

“I said leave the bicycle.” The suited man coldly looked up at Tiantian. “I don’t care what reasons you have. I only look at results.”

Tiantian knew that she and Zheng Yingxiong were weak and outnumbered. She could only obediently lean the bicycle against the wall, then turned to try to communicate with the man. “This bicycle is already very old. It can’t even carry two adults. It can probably only be used by me and this child. There are three of you. Are you sure you want it?”

Tiantian’s single sentence simultaneously revealed multiple objective problems and cleverly inserted a wedge between the three men.

At this moment, no one knew whether the black lines would move again next. The other side had three men, but the bicycle could only be ridden by one person. If the suited man was truly the leader of the three, as long as he thought it through, he should know the best solution was to let her ride the bicycle away.

Once a situation arose where there was more porridge than monks, everyone would naturally come to blows for the sake of survival.

This was the consequence of using human nature to test friendship.

“You…” The suited man didn’t know if he had seen through Tiantian’s trick. He only narrowed his eyes and looked at her without saying a word.

“I understand.” Tiantian didn’t give the other party too much time to react and immediately spoke. “The bicycle is yours. We’re leaving.”

“Tie them up.” The suited man said.

“Ah…?”

Tiantian froze. The middle-aged man in the tank top had already rushed over excitedly. “Ha! I’ve been waiting for this!”

He extended his greasy, filthy hand toward Tiantian’s arm.

“Big sister, watch out!”

Seeing the situation was bad, Zheng Yingxiong immediately pulled Tiantian behind him, then strode forward and drew the “sword” from his waist, swinging it fiercely.

Unfortunately, the “sword” was folded from soft, limp newspaper. When it struck hard against the man’s leg, it didn’t even smooth out the wrinkles on his pants.

“Get lost, you little shit!” The tank-top man slapped Zheng Yingxiong to the ground, then lifted his foot to kick him. “You think you’re still outside? You think there’s still someone here who’ll indulge a brat like you?”

Zheng Yingxiong was knocked to the ground but still gripped the short sword in his hand with a resolute expression, not making a sound.

The tank-top man kicked him forcefully, yet he crawled step by step toward his crown.

“Brat! Brat!”

Seeing the tank-top man called Old Fang using more and more force, Tiantian mustered her courage and shouted, “Stop!”

Old Fang stopped, panting heavily, and Zheng Yingxiong finally coughed. It seemed he had been gritting his teeth and enduring until now.

The first thing he did was crawl over to grab his crown, then carefully fold it and stuff it into his pocket.

The three men raised their heads to look at Tiantian, and Tiantian also knew that if they fought, she would be no match for them no matter what.

She bit her lip and said with a calm expression, “Let that child go, and I’ll do whatever you tell me to do after that.”

“Big sister…” Zheng Yingxiong looked up at Tiantian in disbelief. “You should be the one to leave quickly… I’m a ‘hero’…”
