Chapter 1226: It’s Not Her!

Seeing so many people arrive at once, Feng Jiu’er grew increasingly anxious.

She pinched Di Wu Ya’s arm hard, then suddenly pushed off with the tips of her feet and leaped into the air.

“Ninth Imperial Uncle, I’ll leave the rest to you.”

Feng Jiu’er left only those words for the person beside her before heading straight toward the room.

“Don’t let her in — loose the arrows, loose the arrows!” Ye Luosha raised her eyes to watch Feng Jiu’er’s figure, her eyes blazing red with urgency.

It was clearly she who wanted to kill Mu Mu — now that they were letting her in, what chance did Mu Mu have of surviving?

Di Wu Ya hadn’t anticipated that archers were waiting in ambush. Without a second thought, he leaped forward and followed after Feng Jiu’er at his greatest speed.

“Don’t loose the arrows — don’t!” Ye Luosha was nearly frantic, yet she couldn’t stand by and watch Di Wu Ya get hurt either.

She dropped those words and turned back swiftly.

But she was still a step too late. By the time she reached the entrance of the side chamber, all that remained before her were a few brothers who had been shoved aside.

At that moment, Yu Jingfeng descended from above and came to stand before Di Wu Ya.

“Hold this door at all costs — don’t delay Jiu’er’s rescue.” Di Wu Ya’s voice was low and ice-cold.

“Yes.” Yu Jingfeng inclined his head and accepted the order.

“You must not — it was she who…”

“It was not her!” Di Wu Ya fixed Ye Luosha with a cold stare and cut her off. “If you still want Mu Mu to live, you had better hold your tongue!”

Without waiting for Ye Luosha to react, Di Wu Ya flung out his palm. The hall doors slammed shut with a thunderous boom.

Inside the side chamber, the moment Feng Jiu’er saw Mu Mu’s condition, her eyes instantly misted over.

“How did it come to this?”

Seeing that it was Miss Jiu’er, the three madams all stepped aside and bowed their heads.

Feng Jiu’er furrowed her brows tightly, drew a long, fierce breath, and went over to support Di Fei Mu upright.

She retrieved her specially prepared Life-Sustaining Pill and pressed it between Di Fei Mu’s lips.

But Di Fei Mu showed not the slightest response — the pill merely lodged in his mouth, unable to go down at all.

“Miss Jiu — Jiu’er, General Mu… he’s not going to make it.” One physician shook his head, sighing repeatedly.

Di Wu Ya entered the room just in time to hear the physician’s words.

His footsteps faltered, and even the space between his brows creased.

“That won’t do — Mu Mu wouldn’t be willing to leave us.”

Laying Di Fei Mu flat on the bed, Feng Jiu’er leaned down and gently pinched his nose and chin to open his mouth.

“Girl, let me.” Just as Feng Jiu’er leaned close, Di Wu Ya appeared beside her.

Feng Jiu’er blinked, and a tear dropped onto Di Fei Mu’s face, pale as paper.

“Use your true energy to send the pill in his mouth down into his body. He’s been poisoned — be careful of yourself.”

Feng Jiu’er dared not pause for even a half-moment. After giving the instruction, she immediately took out her needle case.

If she were to be poisoned at this juncture, she would be unable to treat Mu Mu. Letting Di Wu Ya handle it was something Feng Jiu’er had no objection to.

“Very well.” Di Wu Ya inclined his head and leaned down.

“Have someone bring my medicine chest from my room, and summon my people — Xiao Yingtao and Xing Zizhou — to come and help. The rest of you, stay for now.” Feng Jiu’er instructed in a low voice.

“Yes, I’ll go and see to it at once.” One physician acknowledged the order and hurried out.

“Girl, he’s swallowed it.” Di Fei Mu’s entire body had not a trace of warmth — Di Wu Ya, rarely as it happened, felt at a loss.

“Good.” Feng Jiu’er took out another medicine vial and passed it over. “Give him five pellets — this medicine can temporarily suppress the poison. Take five yourself as well.”

“I need to stop his bleeding — make as little movement as possible.”

The moment the words left her lips, Feng Jiu’er unwound the cloth strips that the physicians had wrapped around Di Fei Mu’s wounds.

At a time like this, where did she have the leisure to reproach anyone?

Thank heavens she had come. Mo Bai was not here, and the physicians present truly could do very little.

Di Wu Ya said nothing and did everything according to Feng Jiu’er’s instructions.

The wound on Mu Mu’s chest stung Feng Jiu’er’s eyes, yet she was still able to collect herself at once and begin inserting the needles to stanch the bleeding.

Outside the main hall, Yu Jingfeng’s men arrived quickly.

When the physician went out and pushed open the great doors, dozens of people were packed solid outside, while at the very entrance stood Yu Jingfeng alone.

Yu Jingfeng glanced back at the physician and asked in a low voice: “Does Miss Jiu’er have instructions?”

“Yes — yes, she does.” The physician was so shaken by the sight before him that he was nearly unable to speak.

But he recovered quickly and met Yu Jingfeng’s gaze.

“Miss Jiu’er says to have someone bring her medicine chest over, along with her people Xiao Yingtao and Xing Zizhou, and have them come to help.”

“Understood.” Yu Jingfeng inclined his head. “Any other instructions?”

“Not for now — but hurry!” The physician nodded and turned back inside.

“Good.” Yu Jingfeng inclined his head once more and shut the door for those within.

“The Elder Sovereign wishes to enter — stand aside!” Leng Yue’s voice rang out once again.

But, just as before, the brothers guarding the front of the central hall did not waver in the slightest.

There were people from the Night Underworld Palace here, people from the Heavenly Sovereign Sect, and of course those who had once served the Ninth Prince’s manor.

Those who had once served the Ninth Prince’s manor obeyed Di Wu Ya’s orders alone — and it was precisely these men who now stood guard before the hall.

“The Elder Sovereign wishes to enter — are you all deaf?” Leng Yue sneered coldly once more.

But the brothers still stood tall and upright, neither speaking nor retreating.

The men who had been sent away returned shortly with Xiao Yingtao and Xing Zizhou. Xing Zizhou was carrying several medicine chests on his back, and Xiao Yingtao held a case in her hand as well.

Seeing that Feng Jiu’er’s people could enter while even she and her adoptive father could not, Leng Yue grew all the more furious.

Leng Yue stepped out from behind Emperor Ji and placed herself before the front row of brothers.

“Yu Jingfeng — have you grown so bold you’d dare to block even my adoptive father? If you still won’t stand aside, don’t blame me for being less than courteous!”

“Leng Yue, these are the Crown Prince’s orders — do you dare defy them?” Yu Jingfeng fixed his eyes on Leng Yue, his bearing equally frigid.

But Leng Yue was unmoved, her voice ringing out low yet clear: “My adoptive father, Elder Ye, and I all saw with our own eyes that Feng Jiu’er harmed the Second Prince — you’ve all been deceived.”

She turned her head to glance at Ye Luosha, drawing a deep breath.

“Elder Ye, do you truly not care about the Second Prince’s safety? The Crown Prince has been drugged — just now when we were in his room, we could smell the sedative.”

“The Crown Prince was drugged, and so he believed he had been with Feng Jiu’er the entire time. The Crown Prince was deceived by her as well.”

Ye Luosha cast Leng Yue a glance, then her gaze settled on the space beside Emperor Ji.

“What Leng Yue says — is it true?”

Emperor Ji maintained his original posture, his gaze fixed on the direction of the main hall, offering no response to Ye Luosha’s words.

Seeing his tacit acquiescence, Ye Luosha’s fury surged anew: “If you knew of such a thing, why did you still tell me to be patient?”

“Entrusting Mu Mu to Feng Jiu’er’s hands — how could he possibly survive? Have you lost your senses?”

Ye Luosha withdrew her gaze from the side of Emperor Ji’s face and fixed it on the wall of men before her.

“Yu Jingfeng — if you all persist in this delusion, don’t expect to see tomorrow’s light.”

But her words had no effect whatsoever on the wall of men before her. Every brother remained standing tall before the hall, still as sculptures.
