Chapter 1508: Feng Clan Arc — The Hero in Her Heart

Yue Qinchun looked at this sea of dark heads, and for the first time in her life, felt despair.

She had never left home before, had no idea how dangerous the outside world could be.

Sheltered by her family since childhood, Yue Qinchun’s days had always gone smoothly.

Yet unexpectedly, not long after leaving home, disaster had struck.

“Let her go!”

Suddenly, a voice clearly different from the bandits’ reached Yue Qinchun’s ears.

When she turned, she saw, atop a large tree, beneath the moonlight, a tall figure appear.

At once, everyone turned to look toward the source of the voice.

Boss pushed several men aside and came to the front, staring at the figure in the tree. “You little brat, mind your own business!”

“Let her go, and I won’t stay long.” Feng Yinan furrowed his brow, then leapt down, landing steadily on the ground.

Boss seemed somewhat afraid, taking a step back.

Yue Qinchun, in the gap the bandits had left, finally got a clear look at Feng Yinan.

He was tall, and though not as handsome as Jian Yi, still quite good-looking.

Yue Qinchun had once heard plenty of stories about heroes rescuing damsels in distress, and the moment she saw Feng Yinan, she felt that he was the hero of her heart.

The girl sitting on the ground bit her lip and stood up.

“You little brat! Don’t push your luck when offered a way out! Just because there’s one of you, you think you can take my woman?” Boss said disdainfully.

“Boss, since this kid has seen through our formation, we can’t let him leave.” The especially tall bandit stepped forward and said.

“Right, we can’t let him leave!” Another bandit chimed in agreement.

Boss waved a hand, and dozens of bandits spread out, quickly surrounding Feng Yinan.

“Kid, surrender quietly!”

The moment Boss’s words fell, suddenly, a buzzing sound drifted over.

Everyone looked up, and a dark mass of something came flying toward them.

“Bees, so many bees!”

“How are there bees?! So many! Run!”

“So many bees, run! Boss, run quick!”

Yue Qinchun had just managed to stand, only to collapse again.

Before her body hit the ground, a large hand caught her, and she fell into the man’s embrace.

“You are…” Yue Qinchun looked at Feng Yinan, who had rushed over, blinking.

“Let’s go.” Feng Yinan took hold of Yue Qinchun’s hand.

But the moment she took a step, she winced, brows furrowing tightly.

“What’s wrong?” Feng Yinan turned back to ask.

“My leg, it’s hurt.” Yue Qinchun truly despised herself in that moment.

How could she be so weak?

Before Yue Qinchun could wallow in self-pity any further, Feng Yinan scooped her up in his arms and strode forward.

The backup the two squirrels had brought stung any bandit they saw.

All around, the forest was filled with the wails of bandits.

But those sounds grew further and further away.

Yue Qinchun looked at the man carrying her, her heart pounding rapidly.

He had saved her life.

He was the hero of her lifetime.

What mattered most was that the more she looked at him, the more handsome she found this man.

The more she looked, the redder her face became.

“Yue Qinchun.”

“Qinchun.”

“Miss Yue.”

Ahead, from the direction the wind was blowing, came different voices calling out.

“Miss Yue.”

“Qinchun.”

“Yue Qinchun.”

Yue Qinchun, still lost in her dream of a hero rescuing a damsel in distress, didn’t even hear her own people calling her.

Feng Yinan, holding the girl in his arms as he moved forward, heard the voices, his thick brows furrowing, and turned toward another direction.

Jiu’er—he thought he could hear Jiu’er’s voice, and it seemed Qiao Mu’s too.

“Little girl, who are you?” Feng Yinan, still running toward the source of the voices, asked softly.

“Little girl?”

“What… what’s wrong?” Yue Qinchun suddenly came back to her senses.

“Who did you enter the mountains with? How did you end up in the bandits’ hands?” Feng Yinan’s voice continued.

“Yue Qinchun, where are you?” Qiao Mu’s voice called out.

Yue Qinchun’s moth-like brows furrowed slightly, and she grabbed hold of Feng Yinan’s robe.

“Those are my people, my family has come looking for me.”

Yue Qinchun looked back but couldn’t see anyone.

When the voices came again, she took a deep breath, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly.

“Qiao Mu, Jiu’er, I’m here, Qiao Mu, Jiu’er, I’m here.”

It really was them.

Feng Yinan never expected that the person he’d casually rescued would turn out to be one of Jiu’er’s own.

Sensing no one chasing from behind, he smiled faintly but didn’t slow his pace.

He knew Jiu’er was coming, and he’d been planning to go find them—he never expected to run into them here.

Soon, the two groups met.

Feng Jiu’er first saw Feng Yinan, then got a clear look at the girl in his arms.

She stopped in her tracks and let out a breath of relief.

Before she could say anything, Qiao Mu strode over to Feng Yinan and Yue Qinchun.

“Yinan, why are you here? And why are you with Yue Qinchun? Do you two know each other?”

Fortunately, the one who’d gone missing today was Yue Qinchun—if it had been Little Yingtao, Qiao Mu would surely be scolding her by now.

That girl—if she hadn’t wandered off on her own, she never would have been captured. Truly a worry.

Yue Qinchun glanced back at Feng Yinan and blinked.

She hadn’t expected that Jiu’er and Qiao Mu would already know her rescuer.

“Big brother, you can put me down, I’m fine now.”

Feng Yinan lowered his eyes and set her down.

But Yue Qinchun’s ankle was sprained, and she couldn’t stand steadily.

The moment she touched the ground, she let out a small cry.

Seeing this, Feng Yinan reached out his large hand to steady her.

He more or less understood the situation now. Since she was one of Jiu’er’s people, she was family to him too.

Feng Yinan glanced down at Yue Qinchun’s foot, then picked her up again, carrying her in his arms.

Yue Qinchun, caught somewhat off guard, swayed and ended up with her arms around the man’s neck.

“I’m… fine.”

“It’s fine, you’re not heavy, besides, we’re all family.” Feng Yinan said, carrying her toward the group.

Yue Qinchun’s ears turned red at his words about being family and his gentle tone.

“Jiu’er, I saw her being captured by bandits, so I rescued her.”

“Good thing you were there.” Qiao Mu dropped that line, then narrowed her eyes, looking deeper into the forest.

“Doesn’t sound like there were that many of them, daring to mess with our people—I’ll go give them a taste of their own medicine.”

“Qiao Mu, I’m fine.” Yue Qinchun didn’t want to go back to that place, didn’t want to see those people again.

“Qiao Mu.” Feng Jiu’er glanced at her. “Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet, can you hold back a little?”

“I’m fine.” Qiao Mu frowned.

“Listen to Jiu’er.” Feng Jiang reminded her in a low voice.

Feng Jiu’er ignored this and came to stand before Yue Qinchun.

With just one look from her, Yue Qinchun let go of Feng Yinan’s neck and held out her hand.

“Are you alright?” There was still a trace of worry in Feng Jiu’er’s eyes.

“Jiu’er, I’m really fine, he—big brother got there in time, nothing happened to me at all.”

Feng Jiu’er took her hand, checked her pulse, then her gaze moved to her ankle.

“It’s sprained.” Yue Qinchun pulled her foot back slightly.

Feng Jiu’er still lifted her injured foot and began examining it.

“Jiu’er.” Yue Qinchun looked at Feng Jiu’er, pressing her lips together. “I’m sorry! It’s my fault!”
