Chapter 1601: Feng Clan Arc: An Unconventional Way to Save Someone

Yu Jingfeng had one leg up on the bed and one foot still on the floor.

He held the back of Leng Xuepiao’s head with one hand while his other hand covered her mouth, shaking his head furiously.

“Miss Leng, don’t scream! I’m not a bad person, I really am not, please believe me, I’m not.”

Yu Jingfeng was dressed all in black, the same as when he went to the battlefield, just missing a suit of armor.

He truly was tall and imposing, especially standing next to Leng Xuepiao, which made him look even more towering and burly.

Yu Jingfeng was in such a panic that he hadn’t even taken off his boots, and with his sword still slung over his shoulder, he had climbed straight onto the bed.

This appearance of his was far too fierce!

Yu Jingfeng’s single palm was already bigger than Leng Xuepiao’s entire face.

Poor Leng Xuepiao — what he covered wasn’t just her mouth, but her nose as well.

Seeing that Leng Xuepiao wasn’t responding, and noticing she was gasping for air in anger, Yu Jingfeng explained again, “I’m sorry! Miss Leng.”

“Stop screaming, alright? I really am not a bad person, please stop screaming.”

“If you promise not to scream, I’ll let go, is that fine?”

The moment Yu Jingfeng’s words fell, Leng Xuepiao’s eyes went wide, then closed.

Right after that, her whole body went limp.

Leng Xuepiao, who was only ever used to dealing with medicinal herbs, had been frightened out of her wits by Yu Jingfeng’s appearance — so frightened that she hadn’t even managed to push him away.

Not only that, but with Yu Jingfeng covering both her mouth and nose, she couldn’t breathe at all.

“Miss Leng.” Seeing this, Yu Jingfeng’s eyes went wide too.

He bent down to lay Leng Xuepiao flat on the bed, his hands so anxious they wouldn’t obey him.

“Miss Leng, don’t scare me like this, I really mean no harm, Miss Leng, what’s wrong with you?”

Yu Jingfeng suddenly recalled the way Feng Jiu’er had performed emergency rescue on someone before, and immediately yanked away the blanket Leng Xuepiao had just been clutching.

With a swing of his long arm, the poor blanket was flung off to one corner.

“Miss Leng, wake up.” Yu Jingfeng lifted Leng Xuepiao up, then laid her back down on the bed again.

Kneeling by the bedside, Yu Jingfeng gently patted Leng Xuepiao’s small face, then moved his large hand downward and undid her cloak.

Without even thinking, he even undid the collar of her inner garment.

This was exactly how Miss Jiu’er always rescued people — the first step was to undo the clothing.

But after undoing the clothing, should he press down on the chest first, or perform mouth-to-mouth first?

Yu Jingfeng looked at the girl’s collar area, then at her small mouth that was naturally red without any rouge, then further down at her chest, and found himself at a loss.

“Miss Leng, don’t you dare die!”

Were women these days really this fragile? He’d only wanted to come in and apologize — how had she ended up passing out cold?

Yu Jingfeng looked at her collar, feeling it wasn’t open wide enough, and his trembling hands began undoing her buttons again.

He remembered that when Feng Jiu’er performed rescues, the person’s chest would be completely exposed.

Men and women should be the same in this regard — loosening things a bit would help with breathing.

Holding firmly to the principle that a healer draws no distinction between male and female, Yu Jingfeng undid three or four buttons on Leng Xuepiao.

He only stopped once he felt that undoing any more would truly be inappropriate.

Yu Jingfeng’s gaze returned to Leng Xuepiao’s small mouth for who knew how many times, and he swung his long leg over to straddle her.

“Miss Leng, I have no choice, I didn’t mean for this to happen, but no matter what, I will definitely save you.”

The moment these words fell, Yu Jingfeng took a deep breath, cupped Leng Xuepiao’s small face, and bent down to kiss her.

With a “bang,” the door of the room was kicked open by someone.

“Xuepiao, what’s going on?” A man holding a sword walked in at the front.

Behind him were another five or six men and women carrying swords and blades.

At that moment Yu Jingfeng was straddling Leng Xuepiao — of course he wasn’t actually sitting down on her, since with his weight, sitting down would surely crush poor Miss Leng to death.

She was simply too thin and small.

Hearing the door open, Yu Jingfeng pulled back the head that had been about to press against Leng Xuepiao’s face, and turned to look at the people outside.

“You’ve come at just the right time, Miss Leng was—”

“A flower thief!”

“Someone, come! Catch the flower thief!”

“Not good, a thief has broken in! Someone, hurry!”

“Beat him to death! How dare he act wild here in our Dragon Shadow, beat him to death!”

All at once, five or six people rushed inside.

Seeing that this wasn’t good, Yu Jingfeng took a step and got off the bed.

“It’s not what you think! I’m not, listen to my explanation, it’s Miss Leng, she—”

“Get lost! You’ve even taken off her clothes.” A woman went over and picked up Leng Xuepiao, immediately pulling her garment closed for her.

“Beat him to death! Beat him to death! Hurry and find help, beat this flower thief to death!”

“I didn’t do anything.” Yu Jingfeng shook his head furiously. “This was a rescue, I—”

Before Yu Jingfeng could finish speaking, the man who had just kicked open the door swung his long sword at him.

Yu Jingfeng dodged, and another man’s blade swung at him too.

“I mean no harm, listen to my explanation, I didn’t— help, someone save me!”

Faced with Miss Jiu’er’s own people, how could Yu Jingfeng dare draw his sword?

But why wouldn’t they listen to his explanation? He was only trying to save someone.

He was such an upright man — did he really look like a flower thief? This was truly wronging a good man!

Yu Jingfeng seemed to have forgotten that he wasn’t a doctor at all — he was simply a man!

Even among the people of Dragon Shadow, hardly anyone had ever seen Feng Jiu’er’s own unconventional method of saving people.

The people of Dragon Shadow had seen plenty of Yu Jingfeng before, but the ones who spent all their time working with medicine had almost never seen him.

Not to mention that right now, everyone present had seen Yu Jingfeng apparently taking liberties with Leng Xuepiao.

They were all furious, and had no time to stop and think about who exactly this person was.

“Ouch!”

“I really am not—”

“Listen to my explanation, please?”

“Miss Jiu’er, help! Miss Jiu’er, they’re going to kill me! Save me—”

Yu Jingfeng finally managed to squeeze his way out the door, just as Feng Jiu’er and the others, having heard the commotion, came rushing over.

“Miss Jiu’er, save me.” Seeing this, Yu Jingfeng pitifully hid behind Feng Jiu’er.

Seeing that it was Feng Jiu’er, everyone lowered the blades and swords in their hands.

“Miss Jiu’er, this man tried to take liberties with Xuepiao, all of us saw it,” one woman said coldly.

“Yes, Xuepiao is still lying in bed right now, she fainted,” another woman said, nodding firmly.

“Right now Xiao Ying is with Xuepiao, and Xiao Ying said Xuepiao’s clothes had been undone.”

“We heard Xuepiao call for help, so we grabbed our blades and swords and rushed in,” one man said.

“We never expected to find this man lying right on top of Xuepiao, holding her head, kissing her—”

“Miss Jiu’er, who is this man?” another man asked, his voice low and heavy.

“But whoever he is, we cannot let him go today!”

“Just because you’re skilled in martial arts, you think you can bully the weak? You’re wrong! In front of Miss Jiu’er, all of us are equal!”

“That’s right.” The woman grew indignant again.

She took a deep breath and raised the sword in her hand once more.

“Don’t think that just because we women are weaker, you can do whatever you please!”

“Xuepiao is our teacher, and also our family — how could we ever allow you to bully her?”

“You’ll pay with your life!”
