Chapter 1630: Feng Clan Arc — What Type Do You Like?

By the time Feng Yinan and Yue Qinchun stepped out the door, they found Feng Jiu’er, Qiao Mu, Zhao Yusheng, Xiao Yingtao, and Xing Zizhou already there.

The three women, seeing the pair walk out arm in arm with such cheerful expressions, all raised their eyebrows without meaning to.

“Yinan, so it’s official between you two?” Xiao Yingtao asked, eyes narrowed.

“Mm.” Yue Qinchun answered before Feng Yinan could, nodding.

Feng Yinan’s face flushed red in an instant.

He’d only just worked up the courage to say his piece a little while ago—now he had none of that nerve left.

“What’s this, some kind of trend? Are we all getting married at once?” Qiao Mu said with a hint of disdain.

Her disdain was, in truth, jealousy.

What was this? She had a husband too, yet she had to watch other people’s public displays of affection every single day?

Qiao Mu decided that once she handed Feng Jiu’er back to her Ninth Imperial Uncle, she too would settle down with her own man for the long haul.

Feng Jiu’er looked at the envious Miss Qiao and understood exactly how she felt.

Seeing everyone happy warmed her heart too, especially seeing Yinan finally able to smile with such joy—it felt, in a way, like a mother’s comfort.

In truth, she was just like Qiao Mu—she missed her own man too. She just wasn’t quite as prone to jealousy as Qiao Mu.

“Xiao Yingtao, have you finally agreed to marry me?” Xing Zizhou looked at his little girl and ruffled her hair.

Xiao Yingtao stepped aside, dodging him.

“Who said I’m getting married? I’m talking about Qinchun and Yinan, and Qiao Mu and her little prince, and Yu Jingfeng—he’s off finding Xuepiao.”

“Look at all these pairs—isn’t marriage just a matter of time for everyone now?”

When Xiao Yingtao’s gaze landed on Zhao Yusheng, it stopped there.

She blinked and let a faint smile lift the corner of her mouth.

“Young Master, why haven’t you found anyone yet? There’s no shortage of beautiful women in the Feng Clan—just look at Jiu’er, Qinchun, and Xuepiao, all prettier than the women of our Beimu Kingdom.”

“You’d better hurry and find someone, or with so many of our brothers picking first, you might miss your chance.”

“Lord Yu’s rough around the edges, Yinan’s too quiet, and yet they both already have someone—how can you have no one?”

“Young Master, you’re not bad at all! Good-looking, silver-tongued—how did you end up losing out to Yinan? Better step it up!”

Not to mention the current Feng Yinan with a girl now on his arm—even the old Feng Yinan wouldn’t have argued back against any of this.

Seeing that someone still had no partner at all lifted Qiao Mu’s mood just a little.

Prompted by Xiao Yingtao’s words, Feng Jiu’er also turned to look at Zhao Yusheng.

“Xiao Yingtao, find our Young Master someone, would you? If he’s the only one left, I’m worried he’ll end up with some kind of complex.”

“Jiu’er, I don’t have a complex.” Zhao Yusheng frowned.

He didn’t quite understand what “emotional complex” meant, but he didn’t think there was anything wrong with not having a wife.

“Alright then.” Xiao Yingtao nodded with a smile.

“Zhao Yusheng, what type do you like?”

Zhao Yusheng shook his head and turned away. “I don’t need one.”

“Doesn’t matter, even someone like Jiu’er’s type—the Feng Clan can find that too.” Xiao Yingtao chased after him.

“There are plenty of beauties in the Feng Clan. Whoever you fancy, tell us, and we’ll definitely make it happen for you.”

“Xiao Yingtao, why won’t you help me instead?” Xing Zizhou couldn’t stand it any longer.

He wouldn’t allow his own little girl to keep fussing over some other man.

“Jiu’er, we’ll head over first—Father and Mother are still waiting for you two.” Yue Qinchun’s smile hadn’t faded once.

“Mm.” Feng Jiu’er nodded, her gaze shifting to Feng Yinan.

“Now that you have a wife, whatever you do, put her first.”

“If you’re not sure how, you can go learn a thing or two from Xing Zizhou, understood?”

“Jiu’er, I will.” Feng Yinan nodded, holding Yue Qinchun’s hand back in return.

Yue Qinchun and Feng Yinan left, while Xiao Yingtao chased after Zhao Yusheng, and Xing Zizhou chased after Xiao Yingtao, all heading into the side rooms.

That left Feng Jiu’er and Qiao Mu, who stepped forward together toward the inner hall.

Qiao Mu, who had been silent this whole time, couldn’t help saying as she walked through the door: “I’m not doing a group wedding.”

“Why not?” Feng Jiu’er didn’t let the offhand remark slide.

Everyone knew this girl was missing her Third Imperial Brother—who didn’t know that?

Qiao Mu glanced sideways at Feng Jiu’er and only then realized what she’d let slip.

“What do you mean, why not? There’s no why about it!”

She muttered something even she probably didn’t fully understand, and quickened her pace.

Feng Jiu’er looked up and let a faint smile curve her lips.

In the side room, Yue Jianfei and Tang Xiaohua were indeed waiting for them.

Chen Hong’s matter still wasn’t resolved, and Jian Yi’s condition remained deeply worrying.

These past two days, Feng Jiu’er had been trying everything she could think of for Jian Yi’s body, but the results still weren’t ideal.

With Chen Hong under control, he stayed in a constant daze.

She was unable to consciously control Jian Yi’s actions, but as time went on, Jian Yi’s physical condition kept worsening.

The situation in Yongshan City was still unclear, and Feng Jiu’er couldn’t stay behind just for Jian Yi’s sake alone.

Leaving was unavoidable now—she could only take things one step at a time.

Everyone sat down, and the mood in the hall grew considerably heavier.

After all, everyone knew exactly why they had gathered here.

No one expected that Jian Yi, who had been lying in bed the whole time, pale-faced, could still manage to laugh without a care in the world.

“Sister Hua.” Feng Jiu’er called out softly.

Tang Xiaohua stood up and stepped down from the platform.

“I told you to come alone—why did you bring so many people?”

“Honestly, I still don’t have a particularly good solution, but I do have a set of internal cultivation techniques that could help Jian Yi.”

“I intend to pass this technique on to you. Whether Jian Yi can hold on will depend on you now.”

“Right now, we can’t afford to let Chen Hong go—if she’s ever conscious, Jian Yi’s condition will only get worse.”

Tang Xiaohua came to stand before Feng Jiu’er and stopped.

“Come with me.”

“Alright.” Feng Jiu’er stood, glanced around at everyone. “Since that’s settled, you all go back and rest.”

No one said anything further, and without another word, Feng Jiu’er walked toward Tang Xiaohua.

“Master Yue.” Xing Zizhou stood up and pulled a piece of paper from his sleeve.

“This is a map Zhao Yusheng and I drew based on what Lei Shenbao told us.”

“Since you two are staying behind to handle matters in Li City, I hope this helps you locate Lei Shenbao’s assets.”

Xing Zizhou stood and walked toward the head of the hall, and Zhao Yusheng rose to follow him.

As Feng Jiu’er walked into the inner chamber, she only glanced back once before turning to close the door.

Her people had always been ones she could rely on without worry.

Feng Jiu’er and Tang Xiaohua went into the inner room and didn’t come out again for roughly two hours.

Tang Xiaohua gave her many further instructions and handed Feng Jiu’er two books before Feng Jiu’er finally left the room.

After such a busy, warm gathering, it was once again time to part—no one was willing to let go.

Still, thinking of their shared goal, they knew this parting was only so that the next reunion could be even better.
