Chapter 1930: Feng Clan Arc: Who Could It Be?

Qiaozhong City was located in the central region of the Feng Clan’s territory, separated from the capital by only two cities, and was the widest city spanning east to west in the entire Feng Clan territory.

Continuing east from Qiaozhong City, past Fenglai City, then southeast across two smaller cities, lay the Three Cities of Yongdong.

Not long after Di Wu Ya led his troops across the river, he had seized the Three Cities of Yongdong.

Afterward, due to the suppression by Eldest Prince Feng Jin’s great army, the Three Cities of Yongdong — both inside and out — had been in constant turmoil for nearly two months.

Feng Jiu’er set out on the road with Xiao Yingtao, Jian Yi, and Xing Zizhou.

To ensure they reached their destination safely, the soldiers disguised as commoners were divided into eight main groups and eighty smaller squads, all heading east.

The four of them couldn’t move quickly — on one hand they needed to inspect the area, and on the other, they had to take on the role of command.

Wherever they arrived, they generally had to wait until the brothers had mostly moved on before they themselves could proceed.

Before long, they had already spent some time in Fenglai City.

“Sister-in-law, let’s go buy some medicine later. Elder Brother’s health keeps relapsing — who knows when he’ll get better.”

“I was just thinking the same. Let’s go, we’ll take a look up ahead.”

Two women dressed as married commoners were walking down the street.

A basket hung from Feng Jiu’er’s shoulder, holding two radishes and a bundle of greens.

Xiao Yingtao carried a piece of meat — a very small piece.

Feng Jiu’er wore a human-skin mask, her appearance slightly different from before.

Xiao Yingtao wore no such disguise, only her skin was darkened a bit more than usual.

“Sister-in-law.”

After walking for quite a while, Xiao Yingtao spotted a medicine shop not far ahead.

“There’s a medicine shop. Let’s go take a look.”

“Mn.”

Feng Jiu’er nodded.

The two crossed the street and entered the medicine shop.

Not long after they entered, two men also arrived in front of the shop.

“My lord, does she look like her or not?”

The young man took out a portrait.

The old man stroked his long beard, staring unblinkingly at the woman inside the shop.

“Shopkeeper, we’d like to buy some medicine, thank you!”

Xiao Yingtao took out the medicine list and handed it to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper took the list, looked it over, and nodded. “Wait a moment, it’ll be ready soon.”

When Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao came out carrying the medicine, the two men were still standing in the same spot in front of the shop.

“My lord, shall we go ask them?”

The young man looked very excited.

“Follow them. We’ll see how things go first.”

The old man left those words behind and set off after them.

Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao quickly noticed they were being followed, but they didn’t pay it any mind.

They passed through the main road, turned into a small alley, and finally stopped, pushing open a small wooden door and stepping inside.

In the courtyard, Xing Zizhou was chopping firewood.

From inside, a faint cough sounded now and then.

“Second Brother, how is Elder Brother today?”

Xiao Yingtao went over and handed the medicine to Xing Zizhou.

“This is the medicine we just bought. Please brew it for Elder Brother.”

Xing Zizhou wiped his hands and took the medicine. “Sure!”

The four of them inside already knew that two people were standing outside the gate.

“Sister-in-law, go check on Elder Brother. I’ll help with cooking.”

Xiao Yingtao said softly.

“Knock, knock…” The people outside, after all, still knocked on the door.

Xiao Yingtao glanced back, then turned and walked outside.

Feng Jiu’er, uneasy, followed after her.

“Who are you looking for?”

Xiao Yingtao reached out and opened the door. “And you are?”

“Princess.”

The attendant suddenly blurted out those two words.

Xiao Yingtao looked at the young man and frowned. “Princess what? Do we know each other?”

She left those words behind and started to close the door.

Who on earth were these people?

Had they recognized Jiu’er?

“Young miss, wait a moment.”

The old man stepped forward, pressing against the door. “May we come in and talk?”
