“They are all locked up at No. 3, Lane 1, Yongsheng Street. I’ve already reached an understanding with them,” Jian Yi replied.

“Mm.” Feng Jiu’er nodded. “Let’s head back to the city first and figure something out. We’ll meet back here before nightfall.”

“Alright.” Xing Zizhou nodded. “Should Xiao Yingtao go back with you, or with me?”

“With me.” Feng Jiu’er glanced at Xiao Yingtao. “We’re going to pay a visit to the Fenglan Inn.”

Inside the Fenglan Inn, Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao circled the room once after entering before finally stopping.

By the time the waiter had served them pastries and tea and left, Xiao Yingtao still hadn’t uttered a single word.

She kept staring at Feng Jiu’er, her face full of confusion.

Feng Jiu’er glanced at the two men behind Xiao Yingtao. Her gaze met that of the older man for a moment before she looked away.

“Xiao Xiao, it’s not that I don’t want to leave the city as soon as possible, but as you know, right now it’s simply impossible to get out.” she said helplessly.

Xiao Yingtao stared into Feng Jiu’er’s eyes, blinking for a long moment before finally asking, “Then what do we do?”

“The Immortal Physician has left. If we don’t get out, how can we find him to treat Elder Brother?”

“Yes.” Feng Jiu’er nodded slightly. “Didn’t you say, Elder Wei, that even though we only just met by chance, we could come to you for help if we needed anything?”

“Of course.” Elder Wei’s smile grew even more pleased. “I hold a special permit. If you ladies wish to leave the city, I can arrange it right now.”

In his heart, Elder Wei had already set his mind on Xiao Yingtao. Now that she had come to him for help, he was more than willing.

“Can your arrangement guarantee our safety?” Xiao Yingtao pressed her lips together. “I heard several thousand people have already been detained.”

“Princess, no matter what, my lord will certainly guarantee your safety,” the young man said softly.

Xiao Yingtao raised her eyes to glance at him but said nothing.

Feng Jiu’er, however, asked, “Elder Wei, will you be leaving the city together with us?”
