Chapter 1985: Feng Clan Arc: My Lady, Don’t Panic!

Feng Jiu’er still hadn’t seen Jian Yi anywhere, and it left her uneasy.

Since he was around, she wanted him to come out. If he kept hiding away on his own, the poor swordsman would probably end up torturing himself with wild thoughts.

The moment Feng Jiu’er spoke, the expressions on Xing Zizhou’s and Qiao Mu’s faces immediately turned heavy.

“I think Jiu’er’s suggestion is great. It really is about time Heaven’s Mechanism Hall and the Dragon Martial Army settled things between us.” Xiao Yingtao, unaware of the situation, nodded eagerly.

Everyone knew that in terms of martial skill, Heaven’s Mechanism Hall simply couldn’t compare to the Dragon Martial Army.

But Heaven’s Mechanism Hall still had some formidable fighters of its own — people like Feng Jiu’er, Jian Yi, Qiao Mu, and Zhao Yusheng.

With such a rare chance to compete on equal footing, Xiao Yingtao, Heaven’s Mechanism Hall’s little department head, certainly wasn’t going to let it slip by.

The hall fell silent again as Feng Jiu’er scanned the room, and noticed that even Zhao Yusheng and Feng Yinan were nowhere to be found.

“Xing Zizhou.” Her gaze settled on him. “Tell me honestly — where exactly has Jian Yi gone?”

If it weren’t for the whole incident with Chen Hong, Feng Jiu’er wouldn’t have been so worried.

Jian Yi’s lightness skill and swordsmanship meant that it wouldn’t be easy for an ordinary person to capture him.

“Jiu’er, I…” Xing Zizhou stood up.

Seeing him falter, Xiao Yingtao also stood. “Xing Zizhou, didn’t Qiao Mu say you’d already found Jian Yi?”

Xing Zizhou didn’t want to lie, especially not to Feng Jiu’er and Xiao Yingtao, but the matter was something Qiao Mu had insisted on keeping quiet.

For a moment, he couldn’t get a single word out.

“Xing Zizhou, what exactly is going on?” Xiao Yingtao pressed, growing more agitated.

“This has nothing to do with Xing Zizhou — it’s me…”

Before Qiao Mu could finish speaking, several figures entered the hall from outside.

“Finally made it in time.” Zhao Yusheng strode in, holding a white flower in his hand.

Behind him followed Jian Yi and Feng Yinan.

Zhao Yusheng entered the hall, first cupping his hands toward Feng Li in greeting, his gaze sweeping briefly over Di Wu Ya before landing on Feng Jiu’er.

“Jiu’er, you look truly beautiful today! Congratulations, congratulations!”

After offering his greetings with cupped hands, Zhao Yusheng walked over to Qiao Mu.

“Qiao Mu, this little thing wasn’t easy to find. It took quite some effort.”

Qiao Mu accepted the snow lotus flower, and Zhao Yusheng continued, “If it weren’t for Jian Yi and Yinan helping out, we really wouldn’t have made it back in time.”

Feng Jiu’er turned to look at the two of them and asked quietly, “Qiao Mu, was it you who sent them to find a snow lotus?”

Her wedding had already been rushed as it was, and now Qiao Mu had sent people away on an errand — it made Feng Jiu’er suspicious.

“Mm.” Qiao Mu nodded slightly, glancing toward Zhao Yusheng. “Thank you all for the trouble — go ahead and sit down. Jian Yi seems to still have a task to attend to.”

“Alright.” Zhao Yusheng turned, cupping his hands once more. “Congratulations again to the two of you.”

He gave Feng Jiu’er a smile before turning away.

Neither Jian Yi nor Feng Yinan said anything; they simply followed Zhao Yusheng toward their seats.

The two of them had never been talkative to begin with, and nothing about them seemed out of the ordinary.

“Of course, it’s for you.” Qiao Mu said, the corner of her mouth curving upward.

“For me?” Feng Jiu’er frowned, pointing at herself.

Seeing Jian Yi safe and sound put her mind at ease, and she sat back down.

Qiao Mu twirled the snow lotus flower between her fingers, a mischievous, faintly wicked smile spreading across her lips.

“Weren’t you worried you wouldn’t be able to handle tonight? I heard this thing works wonders, so I sent them out to find some.”

“Handle it?” Beneath the gauze veil, Feng Jiu’er’s brows furrowed slightly.

At that very moment, Di Wu Ya tightened his grip on Feng Jiu’er’s small hand.

Feng Jiu’er met the man’s smoldering gaze and seemed to understand something at once.

“My lady, don’t panic!” Di Wu Ya gently caressed her palm. “Your husband knows how to be careful!”
