Chapter 1230: The Big Dipper versus Eternal

Violet blood, silver blood, and sky-blue blood sprayed in all directions. Several Ancestral Kings had half their bodies blasted apart, the lower halves of their torsos reduced to pulp.

One Ancestral King had the frontal bone of their skull struck through — their Immortal Platform shattered, struck dead on the spot. Bone fragments laced with threads of blood flew in all directions, falling into the black holes.

This was a catastrophe. They had been caught utterly off guard, sustaining terrible injuries — the sacred-weapon spacecraft they had boarded suddenly exploded, without a moment’s warning.

“Ah…!” Furious roars rang out. The injured Ancestral Kings rapidly healed their wounds, while the others sharpened their gazes and kept close watch in protection.

An inauspicious start — barely having descended when such a catastrophe struck. A shadow fell over their hearts.

Clearly, the sacred-grade cosmic mother ships contained safeguards they had not been aware of — the original owners had tampered with them. This sort of misfortune was certainly not limited to just one ship.

Indeed, similar tragedies were playing out elsewhere. Some Ancestral Kings perished without even entering battle — falling the moment they appeared.

Even so, each mother ship could destroy at most one ancient saint — or, in many cases, only severely injure without killing outright.

“Cut down these useless wretches who know nothing but relying on external tools — leave no one alive, clean them out entirely!”

“The time to hunt sacred beasts has come! Everyone, strike together — seize the beast blood, strip the sacred bones. This will be a great haul!”

Both sides did not merely assault each other in deadly combat — they insulted their opponents in words as well, inflaming each other’s emotions.

This was a brutal battle. In the sky, a torrential downpour of blood fell. Howling winds raged; yellow cyclones moaned and wailed!

Above Heavenly Origin City, the fighting was ferocious.

One streak of terrifying light after another surged up from within the city — the product of runes fused with technology, capable of identifying enemies based on genetic imprints and attacking autonomously.

All manner of immortal light interweaved, a spectacle of devastating power. The fighting plunged everything into clouds of gloom and despair — the sun and moon lost their light, and mountains and rivers faded in color!

“Puff!”

Even an Ancestral King’s body could be pierced through. An Ancestral King of the Blood Lightning Clan had a gaping, blood-soaked hole blasted through their chest. In the very act of cutting down an enemy, disbelief flashed across their eyes as the great city beneath dealt them a severe blow.

“A rabble of weaklings — yet they dare put themselves above everyone, treating the ten thousand clans of the Big Dipper as natives, as sacred beasts. I will tear every last one of you apart!” The ancient saint of the Great Strength Bull Demon Clan let out a howl. Their entire body was enshrouded in black radiance — vast as a mountain — and a pair of bull horns pierced the sky. They shredded apart a saint-level battle armor and tore an opponent to pieces with their bare hands.

“Ah…!” On another side, an ancient Ancestral King cried out. A great beam of Dao light fired from the city center — capable of breaching saint-level defenses — pierced through the back of their skull. Disbelief flooded their face; their eyes went blank. Blood and brains poured forth as they fell from the sky.

Heavenly Origin City had once given birth to gods of antiquity — it was one of the most terrifying domains on the entire star. It was only natural that this city could unleash terrifying Dao light. It was said this light might even carry the killing power of those ancient gods.

The battle escalated, growing more brutal by the moment. The ancient clans sensed that things were going badly. This ancient star’s mountains and terrain were riddled with all manner of assault emplacements capable of unleashing sacred-grade light. They took to the air, breaking toward the outer domain to fight.

The people of Eternal Main Star were also changing color. The “sacred beasts” were too ferocious — every one of them with skin thick and flesh tough, bones indestructible, vitality overwhelming. They could take blow after blow from weapons that fused technology with the great Dao.

The powerhouse in the violet battle attire, wielding the massive sword — a saint in their own right, further augmented by a Saint King mech-armor — was invincible, slaughtering the three-headed, six-armed Ancestral King into utter defeat. Bones shattered; flesh dissolved; even the primordial spirit was cleaved through.

Of course, those behind that same powerhouse of Eternal Main Star suffered no small number of casualties either — blood flowed freely, the sight harrowing.

This was a blood-soaked, wind-scoured battle. Both sides were supremely confident, and neither had anticipated that when they truly clashed, both would pay in blood.

“Holy One Luan Feng’s third disciple is indeed formidable — slaying that three-headed, six-armed sacred beast, then cleaving a winged predator in two at the waist. Blood washing the sky — truly mighty!”

Heavenly Origin City rang with cries of shock and, in equal measure, tension. Apart from Holy One Luan Feng’s third disciple, Eternal Main Star’s other warriors suffered severe casualties.

“Kill…!”

Within Heavenly Origin City, eight or nine figures shot into the sky — all ancient saints, all clad in battle armor radiating five-colored brilliance. Their offensive power was extraordinary to a terrifying degree.

The moment these individuals appeared, the balance of battle tilted instantly. It was nearly one-sided; the ancient clans suffered devastating losses. Three powerhouses fell on the spot, their massive corpses crashing down, dying without ceremony.

“This is the most divine earth of this entire ancient star — where their most terrifying power resides. We withdraw!” An Ancestral King cried out, beginning the breakthrough.

At this location, the ancient clans of the Big Dipper star domain suffered defeat. They were surrounded and cut down; more than ten ancient saints charged forward in waves, all with battle armor to protect them — supremely, terrifyingly powerful.

“Ah…!” An Ancestral King of the Blood Lightning Clan fell — split in two by the sword of Holy One Luan Feng’s third disciple. The lightning and the primordial spirit scattered and dissolved together.

“Puff!”

Four ancient saints of Heavenly Origin City charged in unison. Four razor-sharp sacred spears simultaneously pierced through an ancient Ancestral King who bore a sacred disc behind their head, causing them to howl in rage and indignation — yet without any means of resistance, they could only fall.

Blood ran in rivers. Massive corpses fell without ceasing. This was a catastrophe. Many mountain ridges were shattered by the impacts, and blood rain fell into the residential areas. Over a hundred thousand people died without cause.

“Moo…!”

An enraged and mournful bellow — in the end, only a black colossus of bull transformed, vast as a mountain range, tore open a gap by brute force and fled toward the outer domain, wounds covering its entire body.

The battle of Heavenly Origin City drew to a close. The ancient clans suffered a crushing defeat. Nine Ancestral Kings had been deployed in total; only the elder saint of the Great Strength Bull Demon Clan escaped with their life. All the others shed their blood and died in combat.

This was undeniably a devastating blow. The old Bull Demon ran amok beyond the outer domain, unable to restrain its howling fury. The humiliation was suffocating — it made their eyes turn red.

From the other battlefronts, however, reports of victory arrived in succession. Several great cities had been taken, one after another. These cities had stood on Eternal Main Star for long ages, and were of supreme importance.

The defeat of the ancient clans at Heavenly Origin City was primarily due to it being the center of the landmass — its forces the most formidable. The old Bull Demon, having narrowly escaped with its life, believed that even more terrifying presences within had yet to make their move.

“Scarlet Vermillion City has been breached! We slaughtered the entire lot of those who relied on external tools — root and branch. But we lost two Ancestral Kings.”

Before a magnificent great city, across a boundless open plain, ancient clan saints stood towering to the sky. They dismantled war machine after war machine; with every descent, a stretch of earth exploded, exposing Dao weaponry beneath that was destroyed.

In these places, blood flowed into rivers. Bones piled into mountains.

“The Luolan Ancient Land has been sunk. The spacecraft and ancient fortresses there have all been shattered. We lost two Ancestral Kings.”

Within a certain sacred valley, the ancient clans encountered fierce resistance. The ancient fortresses suspended in the sky rained down their most savage counterattacks.

“The Aluo Sacred Land has been taken. We obtained some evolution fluid sealed away since ancient times, along with significant divine materials. But we lost a full four Ancestral Kings.”

“Very bad — we broke into the Unending Sun Clan’s ancestral land, but only three Ancestral Kings escaped. All the rest fell in battle.”

Reports arrived one after another at the outer domain. The ancient clans had both triumphs to celebrate and setbacks to mourn. Though victories outnumbered defeats — and several powerful heritages and sacred domains had been breached — fierce resistance had been met, and in some strongholds, crushing defeats had been endured.

That day, war fires blazed everywhere. The fighting engulfed the entire ancient star from one end to the other. Smoke and flame rose in every direction, leaving no one’s heart at peace.

Within Heavenly Origin City, several enormous corpses were transported inside, dissected by the great clans, and divided evenly among them.

Cheers rose from the crowd. These were “sacred beasts” — their value immense. Through this battle, they had resolved no small part of their need for divine raw materials.

At other city fronts, clouds of gloom and grief hung overhead — victory mixed with defeat. Losses were significant, and Eternal Main Star realized that a great crisis had descended.

“The Big Dipper, that hunting ground, is terrifying. These sacred beasts have all come running to our Eternal Main Star. If we continue fighting like this, we will inevitably suffer tremendous losses. We must call upon our peerless powerhouses to strike like thunder and eliminate them swiftly — then push the battlefield forward into the Big Dipper.”

“Indeed. We cannot be fighting a great war at our own doorstep. Call upon the peerless ones to end this battle as quickly as possible.”

The people of Eternal Main Star were no longer so calm. The sacred beasts were ferocious — in a single day they had taken numerous powerful forces. A sense of crisis was taking root.

Ye Fan observed this battle with cold detachment. By his assessment, the saints of Eternal Main Star were far fewer in number than those of the ancient clans. And what had come over here was only a portion of the ancient clans’ forces — yet already Eternal was straining under the pressure.

Just one day later, the tide of battle reversed. Eternal Main Star reclaimed all lost ground on every front. The ancient clans left behind a number of corpses and pulled back to the outer domain.

Holy One Luan Feng had intervened — joining together with several other peerless powerhouses to mount a counterattack. The ancient clans shuddered, having not anticipated that Eternal would be so difficult to breach.

“You sacred beasts — leave the Eternal Star Domain at once, or none of you will escape being hunted down and slaughtered!” Luan Feng led the pursuit out to the outer domain.

In the cold expanse of the cosmos, both sides stood in confrontation. Swords had been drawn; the atmosphere was taut to the point of breaking.

“Who are you calling a sacred beast?” The old Bull Demon was the first to erupt in fury.

“Very well then — honorable guests from afar, I request that you withdraw at once. The consequences of remaining will be upon your own heads.” Luan Feng spoke, clad in cold metallic battle armor, a war spear in hand — an image of extraordinary martial might.

They were half a step away from becoming a Great Sage, and possessed a true Great Sage battle armor — unlike ordinary mech-armor. It was more akin to a divine garment, fitted close to the body, extraordinarily powerful. It brought them close to the level of a genuine Great Sage in battle.

In the cold outer domain, the ancient clans furrowed their brows. Though the force they had brought was not small, among them there was no Great Sage — nor had they brought any peak Dao ancient imperial weapons.

“The ten thousand clans of antiquity have no shortage of arrogant figures, yet I had not expected that the sense of superiority on Eternal Main Star would surpass even theirs. I have met the Battle Saint Emperor himself — I do not fear the likes of you. If this war continues, I say plainly: Eternal Main Star will be destroyed.”

An ancient clan powerhouse stepped forward from among the crowd. Clad in a suit of crimson-gold divine vestments, radiant flames surging across their entire body, they were from Crimson Phoenix Mountain — addressed as the Nine Phoenix King.

In those years, at the gathering of the ten thousand clans held at the Jade Pool, they had appeared. Their name struck awe across the ancient world. They were but the thinnest line away from becoming a Great Sage.

Long ago, the Battle Saint Emperor had remarked in passing that their talent was quite good — a brief mention only, yet it had been an honor without equal. The world had known of it ever since, and held them in deep reverence.

“The Eternal Domain has stood ten thousand ages without destruction. We have mounted distant campaigns across every star domain. Even in our most trying times, when facing the gods of antiquity, we were not wiped out. The Big Dipper is far too arrogant.” Luan Feng declared.

“One Great Sage alone would suffice. One peak Dao ancient imperial weapon alone would suffice. Once either descends upon this place, they can sweep through the entire Eternal Domain.” The Nine Phoenix King replied.

This battle could not be avoided. Two existences each half a step from becoming a Great Sage clashed in a great duel amidst the cold cosmos — the outcome: both sides wounded.
