Hearing these words, Mo Pu’s expression turned ugly. The stone wolf that had arrived at this star ahead of the others had been killed, and Ugu had been slain by Ye Fan as well — for the Sacred Spirit lineage, this was a profound humiliation.
BOOM!
The blood throughout his body surged and churned. Every drop shone with crystalline brilliance, radiating boundless immortal light through the stone of his body, suffused with an undying divine nature.
“From ancient times to the present, the human race has been cowardly and unworthy of mention. Looking at the records of past battles, you have lost far more than you have won. You have not hesitated to prostrate yourselves before us in reverence — a shame carved permanently into stone for all to see!” Mo Pu said coldly.
He tore open the wounds of the past — those darkest of eras, when no human Emperor had risen. A single invincible Sacred Spirit could rule an entire star region, with the entire human race bowing in submission.
The human race had been weak. In those years, they had regarded Sacred Spirits as divine beings, unable to resist, forced to kneel in reverence and worship.
It could be said: those had been years of shame. The dark eras were ones the human race neither wished to speak of nor wished to face — their ancestors had been enslaved and oppressed, and in those times, not one overwhelming, unrivaled, brilliant hero had emerged.
“In the years of the human race’s decline, a few insignificant opportunists seized their moment, nothing more. If we are speaking of the ancient past, the supreme ancient ancestors of the Sacred Spirit lineage were killed by the human ancestral patriarch!” Ye Fan replied coldly. He stepped forward one pace at a time, gathering the full power of his cultivation throughout his body. A brilliant golden light emanated from him, like a war god descended into the mortal world.
From within his body, the sound of chanting scripture arose. Strands of Dao-marks materialized and surfaced — like golden chains of divine order stretching in every direction, making him appear even taller, more awe-inspiring, and commanding.
“I only know this: our Sacred Spirit lineage — one individual alone — can rule your entire race. Vast star regions of immeasurable scale, all bowing in submission!” Mo Pu left the ancient well, his expression ruthless and cold, continuing without mercy to rub salt into the old wounds of the human race’s past.
“Is that the basis of the Sacred Spirit lineage’s pride? So you can only steep yourselves in that petty glory, can you? Why not speak of the age when human race Emperors held dominion over all? You don’t dare — because you have no face to. When Sacred Spirits dared to cause trouble, they were put to the sword.” Ye Fan chose the word “put to the sword” deliberately, underscoring the supreme authority of the Emperors — who had suppressed Sacred Spirits as easily as slaughtering geese and dogs.
“That is because, in those times, no Sacred Spirit had been born in the state of Great Perfection. In contrast, throughout your human race’s history, the dark eras occupy a considerable span of years.” Mo Pu said coldly.
“Using your own reasoning: in the dark eras when Sacred Spirits ruled, there was no human Emperor in existence. Had one been, every Sacred Spirit would have been put to the sword — who would have dared cause trouble!” Ye Fan replied with a cold, mocking laugh.
From within the bodies of both, the sound of scripture-chanting arose. Blood-energy blotted out the sun. Their two forms stood like two great ancient mountains, streams of divine godly energy emanating from them — immeasurably powerful.
The great battle was inevitable!
This had long since ceased to be merely a personal clash. It had taken on another layer of meaning entirely: which was truly weaker and which truly stronger — the human race or the Sacred Spirit lineage — would be reflected in this battle.
The Sacred Spirit lineage was proud — always arrogantly self-confident, looking down upon all the world from on high, convinced of their own invincibility. The battle records of their confrontations with the human race throughout history bore witness to their glory.
Yet to humiliate the human race in this way had left every single person with a stomach full of suppressed fury. Thinking back on those dark eras made the fire of resentment burn even hotter.
Mo Pu had raised it again and again — insulting the human race, tearing open old wounds. Every person present longed to fight him personally, to crack him apart, to bathe in his blood and etch a new record of glory.
This was a battle in which Ye Fan and Mo Pu each sought to establish an invincible conviction — and it also involved their two great lineages! Countless cultivators looked on, and in a sense, the outcome of their clash would influence the conviction of many.
By now, there were already signs of a contest of racial destiny unfolding. From the Old Madman to Ye Fan, both had faced Sacred Spirits in succession — and whether they won or lost bore enormous consequences that would shake the resolve of both lineages.
This would be the battle that decided the relative strength of the Sacred Spirit lineage and the human race — and perhaps it would shake many things to their foundations!
ROAR…
Mo Pu suddenly let out a great cry. The stone of his body became nearly translucent, his blood-energy reaching to the heavens! Dazzling brilliance burst outward — an undying power spreading in waves.
With that single roar, he shook the entire burial ground of gods and demons apart. The great ice mountains crumbled to ash. The black underworld river evaporated. The ancient corpses vanished.
The fighters on the battlefield were caught in the shockwave. Many were affected by the impact, and those who stood closest suffered devastating blows — dozens on the field collapsed on the spot, dissolving into clouds of blood mist.
Even Saints were gravely injured — several nearly roared to death by that shout, their bodies shattered into pieces, struggling to reconstitute themselves as they fell back.
Howl… An ancient gray wolf who had achieved Sainthood many years past had its bones broken and its tendons severed. It had been standing too close — shattered apart by the stone figure’s roar, dissolved into a cloud of blood mist. Though it managed to reconstitute, under the relentless continuous assault it ultimately met with great catastrophe — it fell in a pool of blood and died.
Ye Fan let out a sharp shout. He swung his fists, radiating the undying brilliance of divine nature. Like a heavenly god gazing down upon the vast earth, he drove forward with full force.
This was his all-out strike. Within his body, the golden blood-energy thundered, surging violently and sending out waves like the roar of the ocean — shaking heaven and earth until they trembled.
The human race’s Sacred Physique blazed with light, as if clusters of immortal flames ignited one after another, engulfing him entirely — terrifying beyond measure, divine power overawing the world.
Ye Fan became a golden deity, standing within boundless Dao light. This single punch drew the great forces of heaven and earth along with it — as if carrying the power of the entire cosmos toward what lay before him!
BOOM!
Within Mo Pu’s body, a blinding light exploded. Every person present closed their eyes — there was no way to look directly at it. The great Dao rumbled, true dragons and immortal phoenixes cried out in harmony, swirling around him.
This was the proof of the heavens’ blessing — within his body were the most primordial laws of heaven and earth, implanted within him at the moment of his creation, now activated in the heat of battle to slay his enemy.
This was the foundation of the Sacred Spirit lineage’s invincibility!
Both understood what this battle meant. Defeat was unthinkable — so both had elevated their battle power to the absolute limit.
CLANG!
A sky-splitting, earth-shattering sound rang out. Two fists collided. An immense burst of divine light exploded — and in that moment, the eyes of many present were pierced and began to bleed, streams of blood and tears flowing freely.
This was an earth-shaking, sky-shattering duel of the highest order — what should by rights have been an exchange of a thousand or ten thousand moves was completed in a single supreme punch, terrifying beyond all reckoning!
Splat!
Blood flew in all directions. Boundless light surged and churned, accompanied by waves of a bloody scent — the blood of an invincible Sacred One. The very first exchange had already produced a result.
Sacred blood rained down like a shower, splattering the ground with a continuous patter — piercing the scorched earth, testament to the ferocity of this battle.
Within the boundless light, one figure stood utterly unmoved — while the other shot outward from the radiant zone it had covered, trailing a great shower of blood.
Everyone tensed to the absolute breaking point. Whether the human race or the stone figure Lun Duo and the other foreign races — every heart leapt to every throat, gripped with anxious urgency, watching this battle with total focus.
“It is… Ye Fan who has flown out trailing the blood rain!”
The hearts of the human race sank on the spot. Even the powerful ancient beasts who had lent their aid to the humans felt a shadow of gloom descend. Were Sacred Spirits truly indomitable? The realization left every heart suffocating with injustice and despair.
Just now, the stone figure Mo Pu had humiliated them so — if he were to win, how unbearable that would be. Every single person of the human race would be consumed with burning rage and maddened hatred.
“The Sacred Physique from the Emperor Burial Star… has been defeated.” People clenched their fists, unable to accept it.
The stone figure Lun Duo wore a faint, cold smile at the corner of his mouth. His great battle with the guide of the Human Race’s Tenth City and the Overlord Dragon Tuo Lan paused momentarily as he surveyed the battlefield, utterly ruthless.
Ye Fan had shot outward, his body covered in blood — especially his fists, which dripped steadily. The blood carried a brilliant, radiant light — in certain star regions, it was called divine blood.
“This… is not his own blood — he is bathed in divine blood, that is why he charged out!” Someone cried out.
The words rang like celestial music, stirring waves ten thousand layers deep. Everyone turned to look at that terrifying golden fist — it was unbroken, covered only in the blood of another.
BOOM!
The crowd erupted. Like a dam breaking under a flood, an uproar swept over the burial ground of gods and demons, chaos filling the Great Moon Slope.
Ye Fan had not been struck away by the stone figure Mo Pu. Rather, the two had clashed, and the full power he had poured into that single punch had shattered the Sacred Spirit’s right hand, driving him through and out.
“I knew it — the Sacred Physique from the Emperor Burial Star hasn’t appeared in a hundred thousand years. How could it possibly be defeated…” In that moment, even the guide of the Human Race’s Tenth City was deeply stirred, shouting out, giving voice to his conviction.
“Our human race has won! The myth of Sacred Spirit invincibility has been defeated today — defeated again and again — they are nothing!” Many voices cried out.
The effect of this battle was immediate and absolute. The confidence of many swelled. The shadow that had loomed over their hearts seemed to be swept away entirely, replaced by a powerful and invincible conviction.
From the Old Madman to Ye Fan — both had faced Sacred Spirits at the same realm and crushed them effortlessly. Every person present felt the blood within them boiling, as though they had been filled with boundless divine power.
“It is not over yet!” As the various mists and divine lights dispersed, Mo Pu remained on the battlefield. His right fist was soaked in blood — long since shattered — his entire arm now deformed, covered in cracks.
His expression was glacial, bearing an indescribable quality — like a demon god surveying everyone present, then locking his gaze once more upon Ye Fan.
“This battle has not yet drawn its curtain!”
He threw back his head and let out a roar to the heavens. His stone hair stood on end strand by strand, each one like a river of stars — blazing with piercing light that cut through the sky.
Then he roared, his entire body radiating brilliance. One after another, ancient symbols materialized upon his form and within the void — the primordial Dao-source seal impressed upon him at the time of heaven and earth’s creation of his being.
“Born of heaven, nurtured by earth — even the sky above has sent blessings down upon me. What can you do to me? Sacred Spirits are invincible!”
His right fist was restored with a series of cracking sounds — then he unleashed a sky-filling tide of ancient seals toward Ye Fan, as if the entire expanse of heaven were plummeting down, the sacred spirit power overawing the world!
The great heavens trembled, sending forth wave after wave of the Dao’s resonance. The nine heavens and ten earths seemed to have merged with him — infinite mystical arts layered upon him — the stone figure Mo Pu stood under the blessing and protection of the heavens, his body radiating boundless light.
In this moment he was like the voice of heaven and earth incarnate — advancing without pause, charging forward, impossible to withstand!
Ye Fan stood upon the ground. His battle robes were stained with divine blood, blazing with a vivid radiance. His eyes were deep and unfathomable, his expression cold and unmoved. He summoned the limitless potential within himself and unleashed a supreme battle power!
Then he raised the Six Paths Reincarnation Fist — direct and blunt, domineering without limit. Blood-energy surged and rolled. Sovereign unto himself alone!
His tall and powerful body stood beneath the heavens like a divine being gazing down upon the nine heavens and ten earths, the sole sovereign of all creation.
BOOM!
Light swallowed the six directions. The most terrifying strike erupted — and the two figures collided!
