Beneath the starry sky, the various powers all trembled!
Everyone’s hair stood on end — this kind of being was exceedingly rare; even across countless ages, one would encounter few of them, and all were terrifying to the extreme, difficult to deal with.
This black shadow was very hazy, draped in a large black cloak covering his entire body. He seemed to have walked out from the Age of Myth, carrying a sense of desolation, an unnatural, sinister aura defying heaven itself.
A Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought — according to legend, born from the malevolent thoughts remaining after a god in the Nine Heavens died, standing opposed to the supreme sanctity of their living self, possessing the most terrifying demonic nature, instilling fear in all.
No one had ever imagined that the Tyrant Overlord carried such a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought with him, coexisting peacefully, unharmed by it — how could this defy the natural order so?
From ancient times to now, no one had ever heard of a normal person able to coexist peacefully with such a supremely evil malevolent thought — it violated common sense, sending chills down people’s spines, feeling it was simply unbelievable.
And this Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought was extraordinarily powerful, worthy of being called supremely evil and malevolent, radiating an aura that repulsed everyone, wisps of dark light coiling around his body, like a halo of death.
The moment he appeared, the very starry sky trembled!
A powerful, yin energy swept across the heavens, like the sharpest, most brilliant blade scraping across people’s skin — many felt their hair falling out in clumps, their flesh aching.
The powerful pulsing force spread out, and the various powers felt a wave of oppression!
“This… is a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought born in the Wild Antiquity era, not the Near Antiquity, nor even the Far Antiquity — otherwise it wouldn’t possess this level of power,” one elder said.
“Judging from his strength, that’s indeed the case, but if the circumstances are special, then it’s hard to determine,” another elder chimed in, his expression grave.
Ancient Great Emperors or Ancient Sovereigns, having achieved great merit for all living beings, would be remembered by people long after their deaths, and the faith and belief of the masses could help forge their malevolent thoughts.
This was the fundamental origin of how a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought came to be!
In a sense, the Great Emperor most frequently discussed and mentioned by the masses — should he give rise to a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought — it would certainly be the most powerful.
If someone had passed too long ago, forgotten by the masses, or if their own bloodline had long since perished, then fewer people would speak of them, and even if under special conditions a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought were born, it would not be impossible to deal with.
Not every ancient Emperor would give rise to a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought — unless their obsession before death ran too deep, with all manner of complex causes and effects involved. Otherwise, under normal circumstances, this kind of being simply would not appear.
This Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought could not be called supremely powerful, but it far surpassed the Tyrant Overlord — hence the elders deduced from this that he was the malevolent thought of a supreme being from the Wild Antiquity era.
Ye Fan stared at that black shadow — this was not the first time he had encountered a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought; he had once joined forces with various powers to battle one before, deeply aware of how terrifying this kind of being could be.
This Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought was absolutely not to be fought head-on — after all, it was formed from the scattered malevolent thoughts of an ancient Great Emperor. Should he be forced into a desperate corner, he might well overturn the entire starry sky.
“If I could awaken his past life, letting his benevolent thoughts reawaken, he would collapse without a fight,” Ye Fan murmured to himself.
In this world, what a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought feared most was the Heavenly Tribulation and similar forces of ultimate Yang and hardness — unfortunately, he was not currently undergoing a Tribulation, so there was no way to rely on that to eliminate him.
“Saint Body, do you think a single formation can trap me? Break it for me!” the Tyrant Overlord roared.
The Forbidden Immortal Seventh Seal had already descended, boundless starlight forging a cage, sealing him within, his entire body covered in purple blood, white bone clearly visible.
The Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought stood right beside him — though endless starlight surrounded them, the ground where he stood was entirely dim, hazy and indistinct. At this moment, he abruptly turned his body, looking toward Ye Fan.
What kind of eyes were those? Merciless, cold, filled with the chill of death, as though the demon lord of the Dark Age had descended, reappearing in this vast universe, making people feel a sense of utter despair.
He let out a low, deep growl, instantly shaking the vast universe violently, a wild, savage aura flowing forth, chilling everyone in the starry sky from head to toe.
“This Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought is somewhat unusual — his era cannot be judged by common reasoning, his strength strange and hard to determine!” the same old voice from before spoke up again.
“Could this be a man-made disaster?” another elder worried greatly.
The Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought moved, his low roar filled with overwhelming yin energy, actually shattering the brilliant light of sun, moon, and stars, reducing it all to dimness.
A single, thunderous boom sounded!
There, the light was completely extinguished — he had dissolved the Forbidden Immortal Seventh Seal, the cage forged of starlight shattering. This demon and the Tyrant Overlord broke free one after the other, like beasts unleashed from their cages.
In an instant, killing intent swept across the heavens, the universe seeming to darken all at once, all manner of starlight obscured by that malevolent thought — he seemed like a demon lord crossing realms, dominating everything here.
“Saint Body, you trapped me with a formation — now that it’s broken, let’s see where you can hide. Today, forget everything else — only life and death matter!” The Tyrant Overlord’s eyes were cold and ghostly, murderous intent fully exposed.
Only one of them would walk away alive from this battle — as sworn enemies, one of them had to fall; only then could there be a result.
Ye Fan stood in the starry sky, surrounded by the galaxy, the region he occupied supremely divine and sacred, filled with masculine, Yang energy, because he had to deal with the Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought, and was extremely wary of it.
“Kill!” The Tyrant Overlord roared long, charging forward together with that demon lord, transforming into two beams of light, tearing the universe apart, chaotic energy shaking loose.
“Taiji gives birth to the Two Forms!” Ye Fan said softly, flicking his wrist, casting out banner after banner he had carved himself, planting them in the starry sky, adding power to the formation.
At the same time, he continuously unleashed Source Arts, activating the massive ancient formation beneath this stretch of starry sky, employing the ultimate laws of Source Arts, bringing all things back to life — from sun, moon, and stars down to the dust of the universe, all given life.
The remnant formation left behind by the ancient Heavenly Court flickered, and the region Ye Fan had specially laid out blazed even brighter — a Taiji Immortal Diagram appeared, not vast, but not small either.
Within it, sun and moon revolved, meteors forming dragon-shaped Dao lines, composing an indestructible formation diagram, now releasing world-ending divine power.
Heaven and earth transformed, sun and moon shifted position, manipulating this stretch of star region — Ye Fan, with his consummate mastery of Source Arts, severed the heavens, separating the demon and the Tyrant Overlord.
The formation shifted, the stars turned, seas dried up, stars turned to dust — in this single instant, it was as though ten thousand ages had passed, a terrifying transformation.
The meteor swarm forming the Yin-Yang curve divided the heavens in two, becoming the Yin Fish Region and the Yang Fish Region, intertwined with each other, each rotating around the other.
The Tyrant Overlord was isolated within the Yin Fish Region, while the Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought was sealed within the ultimate Yang, hardened Yang Fish Region — each separately isolated and trapped.
Within the Yang region, myriad beams of starlight formed rivers spreading open, filled with Yang energy — Ye Fan faced that Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought directly!
“BOOM!”
The demon-lord-like being took a step forward, and instantly the starlight dimmed, the Yang energy sharply diminishing — even a formation capable of killing a Saint King could not immediately suppress this demon.
“Just whose Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought is this, so powerful — could it have been born in the Near Antiquity?”
The “Near Antiquity” spoken of by Saints in the starry sky was an entirely different concept from what mortals and minor cultivators meant by the term.
“There’s only one Azure Emperor in the Near Antiquity — could this… could this be his malevolent thought that formed?”
The crowd’s hair stood on end, whispering among themselves in secret — this Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought seemed far from simple, many times stronger than people had imagined, difficult to deal with.
A low growl, the demon striding forward, calm and composed, truly like a shadow of an ancient Great Emperor, pressing down until people could barely breathe, many trembling in their legs, unable to help but want to kneel down.
“Hold firm — you must not kneel. This is merely a malevolent thought of a Great Emperor, the most evil of beings — do not be cowed by its presence.”
An ancient Great Emperor deserved respect and worship, but this opposite, evil demon did not deserve a bow.
HUMMM!
A small cauldron burst forth from between Ye Fan’s brows, rapidly growing larger, thunder rolling within it, mist surging, releasing the power of Heavenly Tribulation, instantly startling the Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought, forcing him to quickly halt.
Ye Fan’s cauldron was extraordinary — the Tribulations he had endured were far too terrifying, each Tribulation leaving behind patterns and imprints upon it, the convergence of Tribulation Lightning.
Now, upon it, flowers, birds, fish, insects, sun, moon, stars, and all the deities of the heavens were all etched there by Heavenly Tribulation, containing within it a supreme Yang aura.
So many Tribulations, each different from the last — even the Young Great Emperor had once come out to intervene — one could imagine how vast that Tribulation Lightning must have been, its lingering aura still enough to make the Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought wary to this day.
However, the demon only paused briefly before advancing again — even the supreme Yang, hardened aura of the Tribulation Lightning could not stop him, utterly fearless.
“This… could this really be the Azure Emperor’s Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought? Truly too powerful — only a supreme being’s malevolent thought from the Near Antiquity would dare defy Tribulation Lightning!”
“No, the Azure Emperor only passed away ten thousand years ago — it’s impossible for a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought to have appeared yet.”
In the starry sky, a pair of elders both wore grave expressions, watching closely, whispering among themselves, instructing their disciples to begin deploying — should any mishap occur, they would seal off this place entirely, to prevent a man-made disaster.
“Could it be the Great Emperor Amitabha’s Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought? He once preached the Dao across some ancient star regions — who knows how many people still speak his name. Should he give rise to a Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought, if not the strongest in history, it would come close!”
“Great Emperor Amitabha’s waters run too deep — I hope we never have information about him. This Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thought is terrifying, but it shouldn’t be his.”
The two quickly fell silent, saying no more, both going quiet.
Everyone else was extremely tense, closely watching the battlefield. The Tyrant Overlord was trapped in the Yin region. The demon stood in the Yang region, utterly fearless, accepting the baptism of starlight, letting the cauldron’s thunder roll on unceasingly, still advancing forward.
The situation was critical — this terrifying black shadow far exceeded everyone’s earlier expectations, unfathomably deep, leaving even the Saints trembling!
“Yang accumulates to form spirit, spirit contains form. Form is born of the sun, the sun gives birth to the moon. Yin accumulates to form the body, the body contains spirit…”
The sound of sutra-chanting rang out through the starry sky, Ye Fan sitting cross-legged within the Yang energy, chanting scripture, spreading it across the star region. That demonic shadow trembled violently at once, uncertain and wavering, as though deeply struck by something.
The Scripture of Salvation!
This was the complete, flawless Scripture of Salvation, the full version Ye Fan had obtained on Earth — a supreme scripture created specifically to deal with Divine Spirit’s Malevolent Thoughts and Yin spirits, possessing miraculous efficacy.
Most people believed it had no great use, not even considered an Immortal Scripture, not even worthy of being called a Saint’s scripture. However, having experienced so much, Ye Fan no longer thought this way today.
This was very likely an extremely important scripture, one passed down by the Daoist Supreme Being from the other shore of the starry sky — Lingbao Tianzun.
Lingbao Tianzun was one of the Three Purities of Daoism, its origin unknown, its era of passing likewise unknown, so ancient and distant it was beyond exploration.
Ye Fan surmised that Lingbao Tianzun might have been one of the Nine Heavenly Venerates from before the Age of Myth, absolutely an Emperor-level figure, and the scripture he left behind would naturally count as an Emperor’s Scripture.
Later generations considered this scripture useless, perhaps because it had not shone brightly in this present era.
Ye Fan had once carefully pondered this — in the Age of Myth, generation after generation of supreme beings had made all manner of unthinkable attempts in pursuit of the method of eternal life.
For instance, burying one’s physical body, letting the corpse transform, giving rise to a spirit-god. For instance, burying one’s future incarnation, carving the seal of reincarnation… all of these could potentially be suppressed by the Scripture of Salvation!
This was the immature conclusion Ye Fan had reached after years of earnest study of this scripture — if this were indeed the case, the meaning and importance of this scripture would absolutely shock the mortal world.
Lingbao Tianzun was a figure from before the Age of Myth, having created this scripture in such an early era — he must have deduced something profound, leaving behind an unparalleled immortal scripture for later generations.
