Ye Fan unleashed a hundred arrows at once, each carrying overwhelming ancient techniques, tearing apart the heavens and earth, shattering the Blood Beast, his blood staining the world crimson.
Ye Fan stood holding his bow, staring coldly at the mist of blood and shattered bone, his expression indifferent, before turning to look at the other ancient ships.
Roar!
The Blood Beast let out a howl, his primordial spirit surging upward, attempting to reform his flesh and shattered bones, trying to reconstitute himself.
But unfortunately, he had no chance. Ye Fan loosed one final arrow, wind and thunder erupting, faster than lightning, striking directly into the crimson primordial spirit and shattering it!
In despair, he let out one last unwilling, furious howl โ the Blood Beast’s body and spirit were both utterly destroyed.
Everyone’s hearts turned cold โ Ye Fan’s methods were plain for all to see. A hundred arrows to kill the Blood Beast forced people to remain on high alert, marking him as a dangerous figure.
Earlier there had been the Second Young Lord of the Golden Serpent defeating the Golden Giant in a hundred moves; now Ye Fan had killed the Blood Beast with a hundred arrows โ both were extraordinarily brilliant and astonishing achievements, enough to make even fellow Supremes wary.
The Heaven-Swallowing Beast and Gold-Devouring Beast wore cold, harsh expressions. As fellow ancient beasts, they had watched helplessly as the Blood Beast was killed, unable to intervene in time โ their faces were grim as still water.
The two of them were far more powerful than the Blood Beast had been, for they were legendary rare beasts โ one said capable of swallowing the heavens itself, ancient and seldom seen, while the other devoured all manner of divine materials, even immortal gold, endlessly growing stronger without limit.
The two strongest ancient beasts’ eyes turned icy cold, fixed on Ye Fan. Though wary of this man, they still intended to strike and kill him!
Possessing the bloodlines of the mightiest ancient beasts, once they reached full maturity, they would inevitably become supreme Beast Sovereigns, capable of slaying even Primordial Divine Demons โ a terror beyond compare.
“You do have some skill โ let’s continue our battle!” The Second Young Lord of the Golden Serpent acted first, his serpent tongue flickering with a hissing sound, his eyes venomous, streaks of piercing light flashing as his golden serpent body slithered forward.
Naturally he refused to accept defeat โ their battle had not yet concluded when the Blood Beast interrupted midway through. A thorn had lodged in his heart all along: his physical body was inferior to Ye Fan’s, and he wanted to suppress and kill him through ancient techniques instead.
Ye Fan’s killing of the Blood Beast was indeed a powerful display of deterrence, but it clearly wasn’t enough to subdue all these Supremes.
Because every one of them carried supreme confidence, each the strongest on their own respective ancient road from their own domain โ without a true fight, none would willingly withdraw from the path to the throne.
The Divine Clan’s Heavenly Maiden Shen Lan spoke up. “Everyone, why must it be this way? There is great danger ahead. We should join forces to cross the sea together, rather than fight each other to the death here.”
“I think a few people here need to be cleared out โ I won’t tolerate their presence obstructing the road,” the Second Young Lord of the Golden Serpent said coldly, his golden serpent form coiling.
“Indeed, it’s time to settle this,” the Heaven-Swallowing Beast and Gold-Devouring Beast, the two strongest, also declared, advancing forward.
Ye Fan said nothing, simply raising his great bow, radiating overwhelming killing intent, while Pang Bo’s blood qi also surged, his combat power spiking, his long hair wild, eyes like cold lightning, preparing for a life-or-death battle.
“Everyone, please calm down. Now is not the time for infighting, or the consequences will be unimaginable,” the Divine Clan’s Heavenly Maiden Shen Lan said coldly.
She spoke without haste, stating a fact โ ahead, the Gray Flood Dragon, Golden Toad, and other Great Sages might be waiting for them, intending to wipe them all out and seize their fortune.
Shen Lan possessed profound divine abilities and had learned part of the truth behind this murderous scheme.
The old Divine Master had once calculated that some among the young Supremes might possess great fortune, which had drawn the attention of Great Sages like the Golden Toad and Heavenly Dog โ they might strike them down to seize their blessings for themselves.
“Are we supposed to fear those old fools? We’ll kill them all when the time comes!” The Second Young Lord of the Golden Serpent sneered coldly, a corner of a formation diagram appearing above his head, resembling a Teng Snake, golden light blazing, radiating overwhelming divine might.
“Kill the Human Clan’s Sacred Body first โ it won’t affect our alliance afterward,” the Gold-Devouring Beast said icily, its entire body gleaming with a cold luster, for its true form was made of metal.
Gradually, young Supremes would begin to fall โ competitors on the path to the throne were mutually hostile, none wishing for anyone to block their way; killing off rivals was the best option.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, a terrifying wave surged from within the Bitter Sea โ an epic battle was unfolding ahead, purple qi filling the heavens, divine might overwhelming, as though some ancient god were awakening.
The young Supremes, originally on the verge of a bloody battle, all trembled and paused, gazing off into the distance.
A roc’s cry echoed through the sky โ there, a massive golden-winged heavenly roc soared, striking across the nine heavens, its wings like clouds hanging from the sky, engulfing the entire heaven and earth, soaring ninety thousand li upward.
It was a terrifying sight โ this golden roc’s strength was extraordinarily powerful, ranked at the Great Sage realm, precisely the Beast Sovereign who had traveled alongside the Gray Flood Dragon, Golden Toad, and Heavenly Dog.
He had encountered grave trouble โ within the purple mist that filled the sky, a pair of ice-cold eyes had locked onto him, a figure as cold as an ancient corpse, chilling to the bone, emerging into view.
The golden roc let out a long cry, its massive divine wings cleaving the firmament, making the vast sea itself surge, the tidal waves striking the heavens as though the sky itself were collapsing.
Yet the purple mist billowed on, swallowing even the golden light, as that blurred figure charged directly at the golden roc, engaging in an utterly brutal battle.
In no time at all, golden roc blood rained down like a downpour onto the black Bitter Sea, triggering all manner of strange omens.
“Who is that person โ ten moves to injure a peerless Great Sage, quite possibly capable of killing him outright? What… what kind of background does this person have!?”
The young Supremes all shuddered โ even with their boundless potential, terrifying inheritances, and rare, precious treasures, their hearts still pounded with unease.
That was the Golden-Winged Roc, an extremely powerful Great Sage, yet now he was being suppressed and beaten, placed in an entirely passive position, quite possibly on the verge of death.
“It’s him!”
Pang Bo’s expression turned grim โ within the mist he saw a pair of purple eyes, along with bursts of brilliant purple light, recalling the ancient corpse they had seen drifting in the sea not long before.
“That’s right, it’s him!” Ye Fan possessed the unparalleled Origin Heaven Eye in all the world, capable of piercing through illusion, and he saw the terrifying figure within the purple mist.
That purple radiance emanated from its eyes, while the purple mist came from the blood qi within its body โ supremely hard, supremely powerful, as though it were a true god, overwhelmingly terrifying.
This was an ancient Great Sage whose body flowed with Heaven-Piercing Overlord Blood, his might overwhelming, terrifying beyond compare. The golden roc was normally the strongest of its kind, its bloodline granting it unparalleled natural advantages!
Yet at this moment, it counted for nothing โ like an ordinary large bird being hunted down, its whole body bloodied, one of its golden divine wings nearly torn off.
This was a rare and ancient supreme Overlord Body, dead for tens of thousands of years, revived for unknown reasons. Though it displayed no techniques or ancient arts, its sheer supreme physique alone was enough to make even gods and demons tremble, killing the golden-winged roc until it wailed, utterly outmatched.
“So this is what an accomplished Overlord Body looks like?” Ye Fan murmured to himself, his gaze flickering. Once such a bloodline fully matured, it truly could command gods and demons, supreme and unrivaled.
The golden roc flapped its wings, soaring straight upward, attempting to vanish into the universe and escape this Bitter Sea.
But he had no such chance. The supreme potential of the Heaven-Piercing Overlord Blood lineage was legendary throughout the ages, rarely matched anywhere in the world โ otherwise it wouldn’t be called the Sacred Body’s eternal nemesis.
This was the corpse of a Great Sage. At this moment the purple Heaven-Piercing Overlord Blood surged like thunder, releasing undying power, as it soared upward and seized the roc.
With a splash, blood sprayed out like a torrential downpour, as the ancient corpse Overlord Body tore off one of the heavenly roc’s golden wings, the scene savagely bloody.
“Ahh…”
The ancient heavenly roc screamed in despair, caught by the corpse with no chance of escape, as though a most terrifying god-demon were tearing apart its flesh.
The Overlord Body’s eyes were ice-cold, purple light flickering, as with a forceful wrench it split the ancient roc apart. Its primordial spirit had barely escaped before being crushed into ash by a single grasp.
The Bitter Sea fell utterly silent, save for the golden roc’s blood raining down, as the two halves of its corpse fell with a splash into the black ocean, stirring up towering waves.
“He’s a corpse, yet he’s revived, gradually regaining the peak combat power he possessed in life โ what is going on?” the Divine Clan’s Heavenly Maiden Shen Lan murmured to herself, her expression grave.
The dozen or so young Supremes all shuddered โ not long ago they had glimpsed this ancient corpse drifting in the sea, never expecting it to revive so soon.
“He drifts through the Bitter Sea, soaked in its waters, like an enforcer who revives whenever needed, regaining the combat power he possessed in life,” said Sang Gu, descendant of the Primordial Divine Demon.
No one knew how much time passed before that pair of cold, terrifying purple eyes vanished, the mist dispersing, as the powerful Heaven-Piercing Overlord Body sank back into the Bitter Sea, disappearing from sight.
After this ordeal, the dozen or so young Supremes all fell silent, no one daring to make a move. The four young lords of the Golden Serpent Clan, Sang Gu, the Heaven-Swallowing Beast, and the others all set off, heading forward.
“There’s something strange going on…” Ye Fan murmured to himself.
“This Bitter Sea is far too mysterious, and impossibly vast at that. Look over there โ stars keep falling in the distance. It rivals an entire star region in scale!” Pang Bo said.
Never before had anyone seen such a vast sea, comparable to an entire boundless star region, capable of swallowing all the stars in the heavens, as though an ancient universe were unfolding before them.
The dozen or so of them split up and advanced separately, no more fighting, all cautiously heading toward where the golden-winged roc had fallen, hoping to see what lay there for themselves.
“That’s…” Everyone was stunned.
At the center of the vast sea, an overwhelmingly supreme and sacred essence bubbled forth like immortal radiance simmering within the ocean, its presence alone, even from a great distance, causing every pore in their bodies to open wide.
At the sea’s center was a massive spring โ relative to the vast Bitter Sea it was merely a spring, but compared to the people themselves, it was larger than any true lake or sea.
It welled up from deep beneath the ocean floor, sacred and serene, filled with pure white radiance โ it was as if this were truly immortal power itself, giving people the sensation that they might ascend and transform into immortals on the spot.
It was breathtakingly brilliant, extraordinarily serene, supremely divine and sacred, as though it were the morning dew of the Immortal Domain itself flowing forth, dazzling beyond compare, brimming with vitality.
“This is an immortal spring โ it can restore flesh to withered bone, bring the dead back to life!”
They finally understood why the golden-winged roc had appeared here โ it must have been drawn by this immortal spring, seeking to enter it, only to meet with disaster.
Not only were Ye Fan and Pang Bo moved by this โ even Shen Lan, Sang Gu, and the Heaven-Swallowing Beast in another direction were shocked, and the eyes of the four young lords of the Golden Serpent Clan blazed with golden light.
“A lifeless, desolate Bitter Sea, yet it contains a divine spring โ how utterly bizarre and mysterious!” Pang Bo murmured to himself.
“What did you say?!” Ye Fan was startled upon hearing this, as though suddenly enlightened, and also deeply shocked, nearly overwhelmed.
“I’m talking about the divine spring within the Bitter Sea…” Pang Bo trailed off, himself stunned for a moment, before his expression turned to shock.
“Bitter Sea… Divine Spring… Could this be someone’s Reincarnation Sea?!” The two of them exchanged a glance, both struck by the same thought simultaneously.
It fit too perfectly โ even the name of this place was “Bitter Sea.” Perhaps this wasn’t a random name at all, but a literal fact!
Clearly, Sang Gu, the Heaven-Swallowing Beast, and the four young lords of the Golden Serpent Clan sensed it too, their expressions turning to shock as they carefully studied the massive divine spring.
“This… could this be the Reincarnation Sea formed within the body of a Heavenly Venerate from the Mythic Era?”
Their voices trembled โ this seemed like something out of a fantastical tale, a human-body Bitter Sea this massive, more vast than even the most boundless star region, as though it were an entire universe!
Heavenly Venerates were supreme beings on the level of ancient Emperors โ only back then, the terms “Great Emperor” and “Ancient Sovereign” didn’t yet exist. They were revered as “Heaven” or “Dao,” and later generations came to call them Heavenly Venerates or Dao Venerates.
A shocking revelation!
This speculation sent the hearts of the dozen or so young Supremes reeling, their bodies unable to stop trembling โ what an audacious, world-defying feat this was! It pushed the very limits of imagination!
A Bitter Sea as vast as the universe itself, where even stars seemed like mere dust, occasionally falling in โ if this were true, it would be enough to shake all of history.
“There’s likely a Heavenly Venerate-tier ancient weapon nurtured within the Bitter Sea’s divine spring!” Ye Fan murmured.
