“Moooโฆโฆ”
A savage bovine shockwave erupted, cracking the very heavens, shaking the sun, moon, and stars, nearly sending them tumbling down.
The Bull Demon King had made his move โ he transformed into a black savage bull, standing outside the forbidden ground. His four hooves were thick and sturdy, like pillars supporting the sky. Standing between heaven and earth, everything above his shoulders vanished into the clouds โ he looked mighty and magnificent!
This was a terrifying sight: such a colossal bull, black fur cascading down his body like a waterfall, a massive form more towering and vast than any mountain range. The clouds lay beneath him, his back and head both emerging above the mist, an awe-inspiring, unfathomable sight.
Black clouds churned and surged skyward, the Bull Demon King roared. Amid the haze, a pair of terrifying eyes gleamed with cold, merciless light, and a pair of massive black horns pierced the firmament. He lowered his head, and his black horns โ comparable in size to mountain ranges โ thrust toward the Burial Ground of Gods and Demons, causing ten thousand peaks to tremble and let out an earsplitting roar.
BOOM!
The Bull Demon King was ferocious, unleashing a mighty assault, likewise seeking to break open this forbidden ground. Standing at its outer edge, he used his horns to hoist an entire mountain peak into the air.
It was an astonishing, terrifying sight โ a Great Sage manifesting his true form, roaring so fiercely it shattered the firmament, black mist billowing to the heavens, using his massive horns to overturn peak after peak.
The Grand Dao’s divine resonance thundered, ancient talismans flashing into existence one after another, appearing on every mountain, suppressing the Bull Demon King. Divine power surged like tides, blood pounding within the mountains!
As though dealing with a holy spirit, these peaks manifested the profound truths of the Dao, one rune after another emerging, wielding a power that pressed down upon all realms, causing the old bull’s body to shudder violently. He staggered backward step by step, blood dripping ceaselessly from the corners of his mouth.
Everyone was stunned โ the Bull Demon King hadn’t even truly entered the forbidden ground; merely striking from the outskirts with world-shaking divine might had brought this kind of backlash upon him. Had he pressed deeper into the heartland, he would likely have lost his life.
This was the legacy and profound truth of the primordial gods and demons โ unbreakable. Two Great Sages had already tried and failed, each having sustained injuries to their bodies.
First the Holy Spirit, then the Bull Demon King โ both among the finest of the Great Sages โ yet both had suffered hidden losses, unable to break through this place, unable to find a way deeper in.
No wonder that for all these years, only gods could enter โ there was good reason for it. This ancient ground, burial site of primordial gods and demons, was fraught with danger; the moment those legacies surfaced, they were enough to obliterate even Great Sage-level powerhouses.
“Why are you all standing there dazed? Strike together, break this place open, carry out the Nine-Layer Ancient Coffin from the Mythic Era, and suppress the Divine Realm โ otherwise we’re all in danger, we’ll be picked off one by one and lose our lives.” Qi Tian, Protector of the Dao of the Human race, stepped forward, shouting to the assembled Great Sages.
In the distance, Ye Fan’s gaze was cold and indifferent. This old fossil had come too โ he’d targeted Ye Fan repeatedly before; best not to cross paths, or the old man might try something underhanded.
“This old bastard is the worst of them all, always favoring the Overlord, trying to kill us several times over. We must stay on guard โ best to find a chance to take him out first,” Long Ma said viciously.
A stir passed through the Great Sages, but it quickly settled. There was nothing to hesitate over โ they’d come here to join forces and break open the Burial Ground of Gods and Demons; otherwise they wouldn’t have shown themselves at all.
“BOOM!”
With so many peak-level figures striking at a single point, even the legacy of the primordial gods and demons suffered a massive tremor โ the foremost runes dimmed somewhat.
At the same moment, within the split-open mountain, blood surged and massive bones stretched out, as though alive, slowly withdrawing.
“The mountain is crawling โ could the ancient legends be true, that such things really exist? First transforming into an earth dragon, then a heavenly dragon, becoming an immortal spirit!” Everyone gasped in shock.
This place was the burial ground of primordial gods and demons, merged together into one terrifying forbidden zone โ tens of thousands of legacies, each mountain manifesting a single ancient talisman representing one Grand Dao, all fused together. After ages long past, it wasn’t impossible that they’d transformed into earth dragons, becoming new life forms.
A flying sword soared into the high heavens; the instant it appeared, rivers and mountains lost their color, sun and moon lost their light. It swung down, splitting apart the many peaks below!
A great bell tolled leisurely, rising from behind a Great Sage’s head, radiating boundless Dao-waves across the sky, crashing into the mountain range of gods and demons โ its might was world-shaking, as if the vast heavens themselves had come crashing down.
Purple starsand scattered, filling the sky, continuously expanding until, in the end, each grain was comparable to a massive star โ terrifyingly overwhelming, pressing down as if to destroy the boundless earth itself.
โฆโฆ
All the Great Sages struck together, their overlord-like might peerless, divine power awe-inspiring, converging on a single point. The Burial Ground of Gods and Demons seemed about to collapse, countless peaks shattering, the place on the verge of destruction.
Yet the most terrifying thing wasn’t the mountains themselves, but the Grand Dao contained within them โ those ancient talismans had dimmed, but nourished again by the blood within the mountains’ cores, they blazed once more with the light of a Great Sage, resisting all these Daos, turning to suppress the Great Sages instead!
“Three thousand paths of the Dao, converged into one vessel โ all sages merge into primordial chaos, a single strike of chaos!”
A Great Sage bellowed, urging everyone to release their source power, fusing it together into a primal, unrefined law to shatter this mountain.
Without question, with so many Great Sages joining forces, it was truly terrifying โ boundless Dao-laws surged endlessly, various order-chains crisscrossing and interweaving, forming a churning sea of chaos, its surface engraved with symbols, the most fearsome laws of order imaginable.
Amid a wave of thunderous roars, everyone’s laws swept forward, striking into the mountain range. A section of mountain shattered โ yet it didn’t turn to dust and vanish.
These mountains seemed to possess life, transforming into coiling dragons, slithering alongside the sea of blood, and astonishingly, opened up a path on their own.
“They’ve actually broken through!” Ye Fan’s eyes flashed with cold light, watching closely ahead. The combined might of the Great Sages truly rivaled that of old gods โ they could actually move in and out of this forbidden ground.
Even the legacy and profound truths of the primordial gods and demons could hardly truly bar their path โ this was a group of supremely powerful figures, peerless among all the ancient domains.
Suddenly, an immense pressure came from afar โ a divine chart appeared, wielding the might of heaven and earth, thundering downward, shaking people’s hearts, intent on sweeping away all the Great Sages.
This was the killing formation chart left behind by the Grand Master of Numinous Treasures, activated by several Divine Elders and brought here โ its power was overwhelming!
“So it’s finally here โ retreat!”
The Bull Demon King, the Holy Spirit, the Golden Toad, Qi Tian, and the others each transformed into phantom shadows, vanishing from where they stood. They didn’t press into the forbidden ground, choosing instead to cross the void and flee.
At the same moment, the Divine Realm came under a terrible attack. The Great Sages split into two groups โ one pressed into the forbidden ground to carry out the Nine-Layer Coffin from the Mythic Era, while the other guarded outside the Divine Realm, ready to strike fiercely the instant the formation chart left.
The Divine Realm wanted to stop the actions of the Great Sages outside its borders and wipe them out, while the Sages likewise watched their movements, splitting their forces to strike when unprepared, ensuring the Divine Realm couldn’t defend both fronts at once. If they wanted to bring out the formation chart, they had to be prepared to have their own nest raided.
Amid blinding light, the great formation of the Divine Realm was battered and crippled, countless holy mountains crumbling, casualties heavy. The Great Sages charged inward, heading straight for the Ancient Tree of Life.
Blood sprayed in all directions โ a peerless Hall Master fell. Even though the Divine Realm possessed a terrifying formation, it still couldn’t fully hold them back. What manner of beings were the Great Sages? Joining forces, even the heavens trembled; they advanced relentlessly, breaking through one strategic point after another.
The Great Sages outside the realm, once scattered and disunited, were now of one mind โ apart from the killing formation chart, nothing could truly shake or slay them. Their might was unstoppable.
On this day, the Divine Realm suffered devastating losses, nearly overrun entirely. The divine mountain where the Ancient Tree of Life stood was cracked open, and several Great Sages nearly fought their way to that very spot.
At the final moment, several Divine Elders rushed back bearing the formation chart, driving off the Great Sages and preserving the Divine Realm โ the Ancient Tree of Life and the rest remained unharmed.
From that day on, the Divine Realm could no longer remain aloof, harboring deep apprehension. Should the Great Sages join forces, anyone would break out in a cold sweat. If they gave chase, their rear would surely be raided; if they didn’t give chase, the Great Sages would certainly carry off that ancient coffin.
The atmosphere on the far shore grew extremely tense, thick with the smell of an imminent great war. The situation worsened by the day โ the Divine Realm might truly be on the verge of great upheaval.
“BOOM!”
The Great Sages joined forces once more, launching a second assault into the forbidden ground, sending ancient talismans soaring skyward, the whole place shrouded in mist, countless earth dragons roiling, the profound truths of the Grand Dao surging.
This left everyone in the Divine Realm on pins and needles, as though seated on burning coals โ helpless and anxious, wanting to stop them, yet fearing an ambush on their rear, unable to protect themselves.
“There’s no choice left. First, spare no cost โ release the power of faith from the Immortal Mountain to protect the Divine Realm. Second, deploy the formation chart โ we must annihilate them at all costs and stop them from obtaining the ancient coffin, or our Divine Realm is doomed.”
Several Divine Elders roared โ there truly was no other choice. If they simply stood by and watched the Great Sages carry off that coffin, the Divine Realm would be finished.
That short mountain โ one whose status equaled that of Mount Sumeru, though its true power fell far short โ began on this day to release an aura of immortal light. The power of faith turned into an ocean, submerging the Divine Realm, protecting the ancient ground.
Then, the divine chart flew out, sweeping across the world at every suspicious figure, blocking the Great Sages from advancing into the forbidden ground, intent on slaying them all.
Both sides fell into a war of attrition โ the Great Sages could no longer mount large-scale assaults to enter the forbidden ground, and could only scatter, quietly approaching from different directions.
But this was far too dangerous โ at any moment they might be discovered by the Divine Elders wielding the killing formation chart, or be obliterated by the legacy of the primordial gods and demons within the forbidden ground itself.
This left the Great Sages deeply worried; the situation was currently quite unfavorable for them.
And most terrifying of all โ several Divine Elders, riding the formation chart, were closing in on the ancient coffin, hoping to use the divine chart to seal that massive stone coffin, or seize it first.
Of course, this came at a cost โ they had to expend every last drop of their faith power, ages of accumulation reduced to nothing, their Dao-fruit of faith rendered empty.
Otherwise, should they draw too near, they would inevitably be reduced to ashes of calamity, with no hope of survival.
This was an extremely grim and terrifying truth. The Great Sages grew anxious, brows furrowed โ things were looking very bad for them; they might be wiped out one by one by the Divine Realm!
The only comfort was that even the Divine Elders, wielding the divine chart, found it difficult to move freely in and out of the forbidden ground on their own โ there was great risk involved. Because ten thousand peaks trembled ceaselessly, the ancient talismans of the primordial gods and demons’ legacy blazing, locked in fierce struggle against them.
And that massive stone coffin, burial place of an Emperor, held a natural aversion to the approach of other supreme weapons or Emperor-level power, radiating a terrifying pattern of Dao.
The two sides remained locked in stalemate โ even with the killing formation chart of the Grand Master of Numinous Treasures, the Divine Elders couldn’t force their way close, let alone suppress and carry off the stone coffin.
“Huh, the divine-demon fluid has appeared again, dripping and coalescing repeatedly, about to condense into a defiant treasure comparable to an elixir of immortality!” An elder of the Divine Realm cried out in astonishment, utterly shocked.
Ten thousand peaks shook, mountains cracking open, crystal-clear liquid dripping down, gathering at the mountain roots, then flowing toward the deepest reaches of the forbidden ground.
“This is an immortal fluid, containing fragments of the Grand Dao from the primordial gods and demons, and even the vital essence from within their flesh and blood. It’s now converging toward the very depths of the forbidden ground โ could it mean someone is inside, refining this fluid?!”
Those in the Divine Realm who understood this secret were stunned. This had always been the exclusive great elixir of the gods, appearing once in ten thousand ages. The old gods of this generation dared not enter, and it was assumed no one could obtain the treasured fluid, that it had simply been accumulating inside all along โ yet now it seemed that wasn’t the case at all.
The Great Sages, too, noticed something was off, each of their expressions turning excited โ the great fortune within this place surpassed even that of the Divine Realm. If only they could enter and claim mastery over it… the mere thought made them tremble.
