Chapter 1597: Sacred Body

Ye Fan opened his Origin Heaven Eyes and saw a hazy ball of light — Yuhua Tian hadn’t left after all, actually waiting outside, clearly intending to hunt him down.

“A person must have some kind of bottom line. Like a moth throwing itself into the flame, I’ll rush to fight against the universe. My strength may be minuscule, but I’m still giving what effort I can — yet you, ignoring the dark chaos, want to ambush me here instead. What a fine Divine Court’s Yuhua Tian!”

Ye Fan was truly furious now. Although this man was a Quasi-Emperor, he was despised by Ye Fan — even with imperial energy rising off him, he still disgusted and contemptuous him, made him look down on the man.

“What did you take from the Sacred Cliff?” Yuhua Tian’s eyes flickered, ignoring everything else, focused only on this. Deep in his eyes was a kind of hunger — whatever could make Ye Fan come here even with this age of darkness descending had to be something world-shaking.

“I took out a supreme treasure that could fight a Supreme Being. Do you want it?” Ye Fan asked coldly.

“Trying to scare me? Why wouldn’t I want it — I’ve been waiting here to send you on your way. Whatever it is, leave it behind!” Yuhua Tian said grimly. Even though that little girl was terrifying, her origins clearly immense, he still intended to strike, avoiding her while swiftly finishing off Ye Fan.

“Fine, I’ll give it to you!” Ye Fan roared.

His hair stood on end, strand by strand pointing skyward, golden blood energy surging alongside billowing red clouds rushing toward the heavens. Within his skull, a massive beam of light shattered the firmament.

This was the power of his bloodline, the very foundation of his body’s invincibility.

A corpse appeared, falling from the bronze cauldron, its entire body covered in green fur, its appearance terrifying, standing there like a mountain, its aura pressing down upon the mortal world.

This was the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body of old, who had once fought a great battle at the Immortal-Slaying Mountain, carving out a black ancient peak that became the Sacred Cliff — a lifetime of bloody battles, fame shaking the eternal ages.

Unfortunately, in the end, having grown old and weak, his blood energy no longer vigorous, no longer at his peak, he had been slain in his later years by the Immortal-Slaying Daoist, staining the Sacred Cliff red, and ill omens had followed.

This was a hero of old, only for fate to be cruel — reduced to this state. He should have been a peerless warrior, looking down upon the mortal world with disdain, yet now he was nothing but a body covered in green fur, terrifying to behold.

Ye Fan didn’t merge as a soul taking possession — his entire body fused directly into it. This body’s blood had gone cold, its bitter sea long dried up, its immortal platform no longer existing.

But as Ye Fan merged with it, the entire body began to glow, then rumbled with sound — the noise of blood flowing like thunder — as if a peerless hero were reviving, about to awaken from deep slumber.

This corpse was glowing, just as it had back when Ye Fan had taken possession of that lesser Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s shell in the Azure Flood Dragon King’s treasury, letting that dried-up cycle surge with life once more like a vast ocean!

The Sacred Body’s bloodline was connected — Ye Fan felt as though he and this body had been born as one, as if they had never been separated at all.

BOOM!

The sound pierced through the nine heavens, shaking the eternal ages with killing calamity, this body radiating brilliant light, the sound of blood rushing through it like the roaring sea, deafening.

As Ye Fan fused with this body, the green lotus in his Sea of Wheel Rebirth planted its roots directly within the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, making that sea churn like a vast ocean, dazzling and resplendent.

This body’s vitality seemed to be reviving — only the immortal platform remained dim, without a trace of luster, because the soul had already died, dispersed like smoke.

All of this happened in the span of a spark, leaving no time to react. Ye Fan charged out, feeling the peerless power of this body — by physical strength alone, it could destroy an entire star region.

The Green Bronze Cauldron followed along, suspended above his head, protecting his skull, immortal radiance falling brilliantly from above, guarding his immortal platform from attack.

Yuhua Tian was very powerful, a true Quasi-Emperor. Although he hadn’t been in this realm for very long, he had already firmly stabilized his cultivation, and he too moved to strike and kill.

As it turned out, before he could react, thunder roared ahead, and Ye Fan, fused with the body, erupted with brilliant light and charged straight at him.

In an instant, his opponent was already before him. He swiftly threw a punch — this was the true power of a Quasi-Emperor, capable of shattering heaven and earth. Had the Sacred Cliff not been behind them, protected by a Great Emperor’s array formation, the shockwave alone would have destroyed everything.

Yet this world-shattering punch failed to have its intended effect — the charging figure simply ignored it, raising a large green hand and grabbing straight at him.

“Not good!”

Yuhua Tian startled, swiftly dodging, because this was the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body. Though he had never personally witnessed one before, he could absolutely guess that this was an ancient figure capable of contending with a Great Emperor, its body supremely powerful.

Comparing physical bodies with a Great Accomplishment Sacred Body was suicide — even having become a Quasi-Emperor, it wouldn’t work!

Whoosh!

He retreated like a bolt of lightning, but Ye Fan’s speed was equally astonishing — the Word Secret represented the pinnacle of this domain, nearly touching upon the domain of time itself. And now, with Ye Fan displaying it through the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, this speed was simply terrifying, shattering heaven and earth, as if time itself flowed backward.

Ye Fan pursued like a shadow, chasing the Quasi-Emperor, throwing a palm strike forward!

He couldn’t compare with his opponent in soul strength, not having reached that realm — but in physical body alone, he was now invincible, someone of this bloodline having cultivated to the absolute peak, capable of shattering all things in close combat.

Yuhua Tian had clearly also noticed Ye Fan’s weakness. His whole body erupted with beams of light, countless order-chains of divine force filling the sky, rushing toward Ye Fan’s skull, aiming to pierce his immortal platform.

But of course it wouldn’t work — the Green Bronze Cauldron hovered right there, immortal light pouring down, blocking everything.

But Xiao Nannan behind them didn’t understand this. Her instincts told her the Quasi-Emperor was far stronger than Ye Fan’s original body, and so, terrified, she cried out, “You’re not allowed to hurt Big Brother!”

Her young, tender crying voice rang out, carrying with it a mysterious power. The light emanating from Yuhua Tian’s soul instantly dimmed a great deal, his soul wracked with intense pain, as if it were about to explode.

In that moment, he was frightened out of his wits — he was a Quasi-Emperor, after all — what kind of person could injure him like this? There was only one answer!

Thinking of this, his whole body convulsed. He turned to flee, but his soul was unstable, in immense pain — that crying voice had actually injured him.

Behind them, the Black Emperor saw clearly. Being close to Xiao Nannan, its keen spiritual sense caught a wisp of rosy light flying out from between Xiao Nannan’s brows, following her crying, piercing straight into Yuhua Tian’s body.

“Crack!”

At that moment, Ye Fan’s massive hand swung down, like the Heaven-Overturning Seal, enormous and matchless, unstoppable, landing solidly on the Quasi-Emperor’s back.

Blood splattered, bones shattered — there was no suspense at all. Ye Fan’s blow was far too heavy, punching straight through the Quasi-Emperor, breaking through his spine and out the front.

Yuhua Tian’s chest bones shattered, blood spraying everywhere, a gruesome sight — this single strike’s power was terrifying to the mortal realm.

He let out a great cry, feeling disaster upon him, his soul rousing from its daze, about to burst free, to escape his body — because being held at close range by a Great Accomplishment Sacred Body was practically no different from death. He had to get away.

Unfortunately, waiting for him was the Green Bronze Cauldron, crashing straight down. Though incomplete, it was no weaker than an Emperor-tier artifact!

“Ahh…!”

Yuhua Tian screamed, his soul about to scatter. He tried to shatter that small blue figure himself, hoping to disperse and escape. It was futile — under the green light’s cover, his soul melted rapidly like snow meeting fire.

In the end, Ye Fan kept one fragment of him, grabbing it in his hand — he badly wanted to know where the Sect Leader was, but gained nothing from it.

“Pfft!”

The rosy light shook once more, and the last of his soul turned to ash. Ye Fan withdrew his hand, tossing the corpse to the ground.

The Divine Court’s Vice Sect Leader, a Quasi-Emperor, had just been killed like this — utterly dreamlike!

If word got out, no one would believe it.

Blood flowed, the corpse still warm, the bloody truth laid bare before his eyes — even Ye Fan himself was somewhat stunned.

“You deserved to die,” he finally said, spitting out just those few words.

“If not for Nannan, he probably could have escaped,” the Black Emperor said, walking over, joining Ye Fan in seriously analyzing the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body shell’s combat power.

The body’s strength was one thing, but without the corresponding Supreme Being’s Dao Law fragments preserved within it, this was a shortcoming. If Ye Fan relied on this alone to go to war, the ending could only be tragic.

“And besides, this body has lost too much vital essence, staining the Sacred Cliff red — it’s a notch below what it once was.”

This was the truth — otherwise, even Ye Fan, a Sacred Body, wouldn’t have been able to approach this eerie yet powerful body at all; he would have been blown away by its Emperor-tier aura.

“Let’s go,” Ye Fan said. There was no room for choice — he would give whatever effort he could.

They arrived at Purple Mountain, a place already long shattered. Unfortunately, it remained just as empty as before — no discoveries at all.

“Then it must be that place. Disrespecting the Great Emperor be damned — let’s go there at once. Besides, you’ve already seen those two bodies with your own eyes anyway,” the Black Emperor said.

Ye Fan, Xiao Nannan, and the Black Emperor headed straight for the old grounds of the Jade Pool, descending deep into the Immortal Pool, down through nine layers of heaven, once again seeing the Western Emperor!

Besides him, there was also a magnificent body covered entirely in golden fur, lying alongside him in that special region, radiating an undying Emperor-tier aura.

Last time, Ye Fan hadn’t been able to approach. But this time, having taken possession of the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s shell, he could draw near, seeing the two heroic figures buried together.

The Western Emperor was shrouded in chaos, hazy and indistinct, still impossible to see clearly, while the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s supreme bearing was covered by golden fur, likewise impossible to make out fully.

Their divine forms were extraordinary, exuding a world-shaking dignity that inspired awe.

“These are the Great Emperor’s parents. There’s no time to worry about propriety now — kid, you’ll have to temporarily merge with this body as well!” the Black Emperor said, hardening its heart.

In this world, it revered Emperor Wushi above all else, and would never allow outsiders to defile anything connected to him — yet now, it had taken this stance, just this once.

It knew that even if Ye Fan merged with this flawless Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, it would only bring his physical body to the utmost extreme of power — enough to contend with a Supreme Being in close combat — but the moment Imperial Dao Law came into play, he would still be doomed to be struck down, without the slightest suspense.

“I never dared hope to slaughter a Supreme Being, never had such thoughts. I only want the chance to get close enough to make some Supreme Being shed a measure of fresh blood…”

“To kill a Supreme Being!” the Black Emperor cried out.

“Brother, don’t die,” Xiao Nannan said, already crying.

“Don’t cry. Brother won’t die. I still have to watch you grow up,” Ye Fan said, stroking her head, comforting her softly, stepping forward to move the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body aside, preparing to merge with it.

Only a fellow Sacred Body could do this, and only because he had already merged with the wounded Great Accomplishment Sacred Body from the Sacred Cliff beforehand could he now withstand this level of pressure, able to approach and lift this flawless Great Accomplishment Sacred Body.

“Brother, there’s something here.” Xiao Nannan’s eyes were brimming with tears, yet she too could approach, unafraid of the Western Emperor and the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s overwhelming pressure, walking right up close.

Even the Black Emperor couldn’t do this — it had absolutely no way to get near, and now called out urgently, “Bring it over here so I can look at it.”

Xiao Nannan struggled to drag out a stone box. Ye Fan hurried forward and pulled it out for her.

“That’s it, that’s it, the thing is inside!” the Black Emperor shouted, trembling with excitement.

“So it’s really come to this generation? The Path to Immortality suppressed, unable to attend to anything else — only this remains…”

A man’s voice, without joy or sorrow, without any ripple of emotion, echoed within the space.

“Great Emperor!” Every hair on the Black Emperor’s body stood on end, and it was shocked, leaping high into the air.
