Is it him? Is it truly him? This was the question resonating in every person’s heart at this moment โ asking themselves, reverberating and thundering in their chests like a clap of lightning!
Those who had previously thought it most likely was Ye Fan had still harbored doubts all along. After all, three hundred years ago, Ye Fan had perished in a blood battle against an ancient supreme being. How could he possibly reappear?
At this moment, they were certain. This person absolutely was Ye Fan โ he had truly come back. That unshakeable will, that thunderously fierce and invincible method, that familiar style โ who else could it be but him?
With just a single palm, he had killed a Great Sage of renowned prestige from the Divine Court and destroyed a Great Sage weapon. It was far too terrifying โ enough to make people shudder.
The blood mist dispersed, and a silhouette stood in its place. His body was as though cast from divine iron, emanating a kind of oppressive pressure โ like a great mountain standing tall.
On his body, not a single fragment of Dao principles could be sensed. None remained at all. Everyone was momentarily stunned, then confirmed it with certainty โ their suspicion was true. He must have paid a devastating price to barely reappear in the mortal world.
Someone of this level would be suppressed by the Immortal Ascension Battlefield, but it was difficult to completely sever the cultivation of certain exceptional individuals. Yet on Ye Fan, not even the faintest trace of Dao principle fragments could be felt.
In the end, during that battle three hundred years ago, he had paid an unimaginable price. Now confirmed, this caused those who had been deeply alarmed to let out a long breath.
In their estimation, this was barely “reasonable.”
Of course, many more still found it impossible to accept โ they felt he simply should not have survived.
With his identity confirmed, many people’s eyes revealed a peculiar gleam. However, not a single one was the first to provoke him. Ye Fan’s performance just now had been far too overwhelming, leaving many people stunned into immobility.
“A bunch of useless trash!” A young man โ bare-chested, his bronze-hued body powerfully built like a demonic physique โ spoke up, his words quite rude, clearly directed at everyone present.
Many erupted in fury. They were lords of their own domains โ figures who had always looked down on others. Who dared show them such disrespect?
Yet when someone recognized this young man, their expressions changed entirely. He was Tuoba Mo โ one of the mightiest individuals in the past three hundred years โ a genuine demonic lord, and few dared provoke him openly.
Many were indignant, but did not immediately explode. They had come from the tens of thousands of domains and star systems โ nearly the strongest within their respective star domains. But here, they were all peers. The glory of the past counted for nothing. Otherwise, why would so many powerful figures choose to follow others and abandon their own path toward the Emperor’s Road?
Tuoba Mo stood there with his arms folded โ dangerous as a ferocious wild beast โ causing those near him to involuntarily retreat and distance themselves.
Though he had not yet openly declared his intention to target Ye Fan, his gaze was filled with aggression, sweeping over Ye Fan with a raw, wild quality โ and something cold and ice-like.
On the other side, Yi Ming โ Yin Tiande’s disciple โ walked over with an ancient sword on his back. That sword seemed alive, fused as one with its bearer. With every step he took, this stretch of earth shuddered, accompanied by an unbroken chorus of sword cries.
Though he had come for Ye Fan, he also harbored killing intent toward Tuoba Mo.
Ye Fan scanned the crowd one by one, sensing familiar auras โ those close to the Overlord, disciples of Yao Guang, sacred spirits โ whether they were enemies through lineage or factions destined to stand against him, he could tell them all apart.
“Are you here to besiege me?” Ye Fan’s gaze was dim, without any remarkable radiance. Yet that very calm was enough to make one’s heart tremble slightly.
“We are here to fight in defense of Senior Ye Fan’s good name. The hero of three hundred years past shall not have his name tarnished by a fraud like you,” someone shouted.
The black vase above Mo Wentian’s head gave a tremor, and Dao talismans spread invisibly outward, silently augmenting the distant person who had shouted, making their words ring out like thunder, shaking the sky.
“Three hundred years ago, where were you? Did you ever go into the starry sky to aid him in that battle?” Ye Fan asked coolly.
“We acknowledge that you are very powerful. But please do not defile a great predecessor’s memory. Have some self-respect.” Another person issued a harsh rebuke.
Such people were never in short supply, regardless of the age. Ye Fan looked at them, and a trace of cold indifference appeared at the corner of his mouth. Then he let out a long sigh.
Boom!
The earth trembled. More factions arrived, swelling the number of powerful figures even further. Like walls of bronze and iron, they completely encircled this place.
The living were less important than the posthumous reputation of one buried three hundred years ago. He stood here in the flesh and was not acknowledged. Instead, he had become the very culprit tainting his own past glory.
This was truly an irony. Ye Fan said nothing โ he simply watched these people. No powerful aura radiated from him, no surging Holy Body blood-energy shot toward the sky. Yet even so, he inspired awe and dread.
“After Senior Ye Fan passed on, even his heroic spirit could find no peace. Friend, you have gone too far.” From beneath the black Dao treasure vase, Mo Wentian’s voice was not loud, but it carried clearly through the entire crowd.
Among so many people, only he had a Dao treasure vase formed from condensed Dao principles. It was a fusion of cultivation and seal โ an extraordinary display in the suppressive environment of the Immortal Ascension Battlefield.
Ye Fan watched these people for a long while, and finally smiled โ but it was a cold sort of smile. At heart, these people were afraid. They did not wish for him to return, and now they spoke with their eyes wide open and their consciences buried, simply seizing the opportunity to do away with him.
But could they truly kill him? Ye Fan stepped forward, moving through the crowd as though there were no one there โ surveying each person in turn, like the king of ten thousand beasts patrolling a forest and facing a pack of wolves.
“Do you find this amusing?”
Ye Fan stopped. His eyes turned very cold, and a suffocating aura emanated from him. Many hearts gave a sudden lurch. A great name casts a long shadow โ even after so many years, and even knowing his body had suffered damage, they still felt uneasy.
“Do you think behaving this way is so remarkable? Dishonoring those who came before โ you are making enemies of the entire world.” From somewhere distant, another voice rang out in a loud cry.
At this moment, weapon after weapon flashed with cold and gleaming light. Many decided to make their move โ they would stop Ye Fan here and cut him down together!
“I am Ye Fan. Do you truly believe you can succeed in this?” Calm words, suffused with a kind of majesty. Ye Fan stood there, looking down upon the assembled heroes.
He appeared so tranquil, his words unraised. But this was like a thunderclap โ he had opened the matter himself, without anger, without sorrow. His manner was so composed that it surpassed everyone’s expectations.
“Nonsense! Senior Ye Fan fell in battle three hundred years ago โ his bones crumbled into nothing. The whole world knows this. Who would believe an impersonation like yours?” Someone raged loudly, voice sharp and fierce.
Ye Fan truly did not know whether to laugh or to feel chilled. The expression on his face was complex in a way that made others uncomfortable to look at.
“Three hundred years ago, one hero after another shed their blood on the cosmic battlefield โ the Void Emperor, Ji Zi, Gai Jiuyou, Jiang Taixu… they fought the supreme beings of the forbidden regions for the sake of people like you. It truly was not worth it!” Ye Fan’s voice was cold for the first time.
“Three hundred years later, there is no longer a Holy Body of the human race! He is dead โ he cannot be alive!” Someone shouted outright, though with unmistakable impatience.
“Who is there defiling Senior Holy Body Ye Fan’s memory?”
Cries came from the distance. One silhouette after another vaulted over โ like dazzling stars, each carrying a powerful aura.
Some among them had not had their cultivation completely severed, and it now manifested. Auspicious light swept across the sky, their presence vast and majestic.
A group had been searching for Ye Fan with reverence in their hearts, and now they had finally caught sight of his trail. They rushed here swiftly, every one of them indescribably moved.
“It is Senior Ye Fan โ it truly is him!” Someone cried out.
They had never seen Ye Fan in person, but they had seen his stone statues and witnessed that particular bearing. The person standing in the center of the battlefield was exactly the same.
“What is all this shouting about?” Tuoba Mo โ demonic and fierce โ barked coldly, sweeping his gaze over those who had rushed over.
Everyone was startled. They had not expected this demonic figure to be here. All of them slowed their steps, as if facing a formidable enemy.
“A bunch of useless trash!” Tuoba Mo spat those four words out again, directed at both friend and foe alike, and then stepped forward, one stride at a time, moving toward the center of the scene โ finally prepared to make his move against Ye Fan.
“A hundred years ago, before his demonic arts had fully matured, he was once hunted down by the Fire Spirit Cangyan, yet he miraculously survived,” someone murmured.
In those days, when Ye Fan had undergone the trials on the human race’s ancient road, the Fire Spirit Cangyan had also regarded him with hostility and sought to kill him โ yet he had come out unscathed.
Both had once provoked that existence, which naturally made people draw a connection between the two.
Boom!
Like a thunderclap, the blood-energy within Tuoba Mo’s skull cap surged to the sky โ as boundless and vigorous as an ocean. One step landed, and the earth split open. The distant mountain peaks shuddered, on the verge of collapse.
No one had anticipated he would be so powerful โ exceeding all expectations. The raw power of his physical body was simply beyond heaven’s reckoning!
“Can it be that the legend is true โ fifty years ago he single-handedly killed several Sacred Spirits? It was not a rumor?!” Many were shaken.
On Tuoba Mo’s bronze-hued body, every tendon was like a coiling dragon. His powerful blood-energy surged in a torrent as he moved like a demonic lord, his gaze cold as ice. He took a second step โ and a mountain not far off finally crumbled and fell apart.
Many were aghast. This was pure, unaugmented physical power โ impossibly strong!
When Tuoba Mo took his third step, the mountains and rivers swayed and the sun and moon lost their color. The blood-energy coursing through his entire body shot straight toward the heavens.
Not a single person’s expression remained unchanged. Was it truly that his cultivation had not been fully severed โ or was his physical body genuinely capable of such earth-shaking, heaven-toppling might? It surpassed all reason, making people wonder whether he was the Holy Body instead.
“Thirty years ago, when he was not far from completing his demonic arts, it is said he provoked Yin Tiande and was hunted by one of the avatars created by the One Breath Transforms into Three Purities technique. He ultimately survived. Was that also true?”
In that moment, people recalled those rumors. Looking at what was before their eyes, it seemed entirely possible that every one of them had been true.
Having dared to provoke the Fire Spirit Cangyan, having killed multiple Sacred Spirits, having challenged one of Yin Tiande’s avatars โ these were accomplishments spanning decades and a century. Taken together, they were enough to shake the world.
Tuoba Mo’s aura grew ever more formidable โ like a god and demon made one. His entire body blazed with flickering light as his bloodline power climbed to its absolute peak. He charged toward Ye Fan, causing the very vault of heaven to tremble.
Boom!
He struck. At this, many people retreated at great speed. His fist-wind raged outward โ the pure power of flesh and blood alone caused several stone mountains in front of him to detonate and crumble into dust.
“I understand now. He is from the Eternal Star Domain โ he has the Brahma War Body!” These words caused an uproar among the crowd.
Throughout the cosmos, the Brahma War Body, the Primordial Demon Physique, the Supreme Immortal Body, and others were among the most terrifying bloodlines โ yet many tens of thousands of years had passed without one appearing. And Tuoba Mo was actually this type of constitution. No wonder he dared to contest the Holy Body.
The sky shattered, mountain peaks collapsed, and the earth broke apart. Yet against all of this, Ye Fan did not move a single inch, standing still as he waited for Brahma War Body Tuoba Mo to come to him.
“Have you forgotten about the Eternal Star Domain? I am one born to answer tribulation โ the most powerful war body in existence!” Tuoba Mo said, his voice cold and remote.
Ye Fan said nothing. He sent out a palm โ and throughout this heaven and earth, incomparable light erupted. That was because his palm collided with the war body’s fist.
A tremendous sound โ roaring like a tidal wave โ blasted through the sky. At that instant, blood blossomed and spattered. Tuoba Mo’s hands were drenched in blood, and he was sent flying.
His face bore an expression of disbelief. His palm had been broken at the bones โ he could not withstand even one of Ye Fan’s casual strikes. The shock was overwhelming.
In truth, he could already be proud of himself. Had any other Great Sage been in his place, Ye Fan’s blow would have reduced them to shattered remains outright. He had come away with only a broken hand.
Clang!
A divine sword split the heavens. Someone else had made their move โ a single sword stroke cut through the mountains and rivers, heading straight for Ye Fan’s skull.
Hum!
The Dao treasure vase trembled โ Yao Guang’s lineage also made their move.
“Three hundred years later, the Holy Body has long since ceased to exist. Fellow Daoist brothers, combine your strength and kill him!” someone bellowed.
At this, many responded. Whether the Overlord Body’s followers, Yao Guang’s people, or the members of the Divine Court โ they all stood in opposition to Ye Fan. The aura of slaughter spread across the wild land, freezing this place.
“How dare you show Senior Ye Fan disrespect?!”
“Senior Ye Fan, we are here to aid you!”
At the outermost perimeter, the powerhouses who had come with reverence in their hearts cried out. They had only just arrived โ the numbers were not yet large โ but they could not be disregarded.
“There is no need. All of you, stand aside and watch,” Ye Fan said calmly.
Three hundred years had passed, and he had not expected that he would once again have to engage in this great killing โ and this was no longer the age of dark chaos. He was about to kill his way through the very people that the Void Emperor, Gai Jiuyou, Ji Zi, and the others had once protected.
