Chapter 1747: Traversing the Forbidden Zones

Ye Fan had come. His descent upon the Northern Dipper star region triggered a massive uproar. In recent times, his momentum had been unstoppable โ€” crushing all in his path, slaying ancient supreme beings, invincible beneath heaven.

What had he come here for? The Cauldron of Myriad Mother Energies hung above his head, a weapon shielding his body. This was clearly no peaceful visit โ€” otherwise, why would such an aura of slaughter pervade the air?

“This shouldn’t be happening. He’s already killed the Tyrant Blood lineage โ€” to continue sweeping forward with such aggression is to make too many enemies. He cannot possibly wipe out all the Forbidden Zones.”

“There is such a thing as going too far. If he continues down this path, even a Great Accomplishment Holy Body may find itself in peril. The Forbidden Zones are not so easily leveled โ€” not even so many great emperors managed it.”

People acknowledged Ye Fan’s power, but they worried for him all the same. Supreme beings had once been the mightiest beings in heaven and earth โ€” especially the Forbidden Zones of the Northern Dipper, which were nothing like the ancestral cave of the Great Accomplishment Tyrant Bodies.

The figures within these places could push themselves to the absolute limit of self-sublimation, ultimately becoming true great emperors. Once that happened, a single one of them emerging would be enough to suppress the world.

Even if Ye Fan was very powerful โ€” even this young, with his vital blood as vast as a sea โ€” encountering a forbidden figure who had sublimated might not guarantee victory. Variables could emerge.

An emperor was without equal.

This was not mere talk. The titles of Great Emperor and Ancient Emperor weighed heavier than Mount Tai. Every single one was unique and unparalleled โ€” exalted above all nine heavens and ten earths.

Whatever people said, Ye Fan had come. He walked across the lands of the Eastern Desolation, passing one Forbidden Zone of Life after another.

The people of the world knew well โ€” so long as he did not strike first, the Forbidden Zones would not take the initiative to attack him. For his momentum was now fully established, and a supreme being who had not sublimated could not kill him.

No one was noble enough to sublimate on behalf of other Forbidden Zones just to put the others at ease, and moreover โ€” even if they sublimated, there was no guarantee they could truly kill Ye Fan. All manner of unexpected turns could arise, and they might even be killed in return.

It was full of variables, full of risk. Every Forbidden Zone should have been deeply wary of Ye Fan, hoping he would not come for them.

And yet Ye Fan had come. He truly began setting foot in them โ€” though when it came to the Primordial Forbidden Land, he did not enter. He acknowledged its presence with a nod and continued on his way.

The Deathless Mountain loomed immense and towering โ€” a black great peak, a king among peaks, with an air of ten thousand states. No one dared enter at will, for it held endless secrets within.

And yet today, Ye Fan walked straight in. The formation runes could no longer obstruct him. Stone figures peeked their heads out, but shrank back in fear.

Ye Fan entering the Deathless Mountain โ€” this news struck the world like a thunderbolt. Just moments ago he had merely been circling outside, but now he had truly entered. Was he choosing to make his move here?

Some of the existences within other Forbidden Zones stirred from their slumber, watching with cold indifference. The supreme beings within the mountain, in particular, had eyes like cold lightning โ€” piercing through the deepest mists, cutting across layer upon layer of mountain peaks, their gaze fixed upon Ye Fan.

In truth, some of them very much wanted to lash out with a single blow, but they held back. If truly pushed to that point, Ye Fan would certainly fight them fiercely, forcing them out into the world, and in that case the exhaustion of their life blood might be too great โ€” they might not survive this age.

Within the Deathless Mountain, the silence became absolute, suffocating.

Outside, countless hearts nearly stopped beating, for the Northern Dipper could erupt into a battle of supreme beings at any moment. They might be reduced to dust, ceasing to exist.

Many people cried out in this moment, soaring up into the sky and fleeing the Northern Dipper โ€” they dared not remain.

The one fortunate thing was that Ye Fan had not released his incomparable vital blood aura. Had he done so, the very ground might have begun to crack.

The sound of footsteps echoed through the emptiness. Ye Fan strolled through the Deathless Mountain in silence. When the supreme beings had sunk into their deepest slumber, he had once entered this place before โ€” but compared to now, that was a difference as vast as ice and fire.

Now, he stood tall and unimpeded, strolling here with no one daring to block his way.

What did he intend to do? Was he truly going to level the Deathless Mountain? Many people speculated. As the sound of those echoing footsteps filled the air, Ye Fan arrived at the deep interior of the mountain.

His gaze swept across one great peak after another. Regrettably, he found no trace of the “Ten-Thousand-Year Medicine” โ€” that mysterious Xuanwu immortal herb. It was not here; clearly the supreme being dwelling within the mountain had kept it close.

He pressed onward, walking straight toward an ancient tree. Its leaves stirred in the air, light and splendor pouring forth in all directions. An ancient tea tree of enlightenment had taken root there, radiant and breathtaking.

Every single leaf upon it was unique โ€” one hundred and eight in total, crystalline and translucent, glittering brilliantly. Some were shaped like tiny cauldrons, some like tiny qilins, and still others resembled small Eight Trigrams formations.

Each represented a different Dao, and each held immense significance for the cultivation of enlightenment. By now they had fully ripened, yet no one waited outside to take them โ€” for the supreme beings had reawakened and had not yet sunk into their deepest slumber, so no one dared venture in to pick the leaves.

Ye Fan walked forward and plucked them directly, stripping away every last leaf one by one. They fluttered through the air like celestial light breaking through the void, in the most brilliant of splendor.

This time, the ancient tree of enlightenment did not flee โ€” for it knew that in the presence of a supreme being, at such close range, it had not the slightest chance.

Ye Fan reached deep into the Forbidden Zone and harvested the immortal tea with perfect calm and composure, placing the leaves one by one into a jade jar. After that, he walked a circle around the area, gazing long at the place where the supreme being dwelled, then turned and departed.

Everyone was dumbstruck. This was brazen โ€” to dare act so freely in a supreme being’s home territory, without the slightest restraint. Was this a show of intimidation, a deliberate challenge?

Yet the people of the world knew well that Ye Fan harbored a deep and bitter grudge against the Deathless Mountain. During the great upheaval of the dark age, the Stone Emperor had slaughtered on all sides, and many of Ye Fan’s close companions had died โ€” such as Ji Zi, and Jiang Taixu.

That he had come here now was no surprise to anyone.

Had the ancient tea tree of enlightenment been able to leave this place, he might have uprooted it entirely.

The Deathless Mountain was a place of divine mystery โ€” one of the primordial source lands of the cosmos, and only in this place could the tea tree of enlightenment take root and thrive. The Wushi Great Emperor had once attempted to dig it up and transplant it elsewhere, but it could not survive outside this soil.

Ye Fan did not cut away the trunk or branches of the tea tree, for he harbored a grand ambition โ€” one day he would reign over this place, and so the tree must not be destroyed now. He had already mentally claimed it as his own immortal medicine.

The world erupted in clamor. Ye Fan had entered the Forbidden Zone and, right before the eyes of a supreme being, taken the leaves of the immortal tea tree and departed with perfect composure. He had simply done it.

“Young one.” A cold voice echoed from the depths of the Deathless Mountain in a brief snort, saying nothing more. He knew that Ye Fan had not yet prepared himself for an all-out battle โ€” otherwise he would not have simply walked away. He would certainly have come to fight to the death.

“When I underwent my tribulation, the Deathless Mountain also sent someone to interfere. Do not feel aggrieved.” Ye Fan turned his head, dropping these words as he walked out of the mountain grounds โ€” cold and sharp.

This was a direct confrontation. Two gazes met across the void. Neither side wished to fight, and so it could only end like this.

Shortly after, Ye Fan entered the Divine Ruins. This place was filled with ancient remnants โ€” Dao marks everywhere, traces of the path in every direction. A great Heavenly South Gate towered here, a relic of the ancient Heavenly Court, which had tumbled down to this place in ages past.

Ye Fan entered the Heavenly South Gate for the first time, stepping through it and sensing a vast and majestic aura โ€” as if ripples from an emperor’s Dao marks were sweeping through the void.

The ruins stretched without limit. This place had once been a paradise of gods, yet it was now called the Divine Ruins, with supreme beings lurking within.

Ye Fan had clearly come with his eyes set on the peach tree. Unfortunately, the supreme being had been on guard against him, and had long since brought the tree under restraint, transplanting it to the deepest part of the Divine Ruins. He had arrived a step too late.

Boom!

Ye Fan struck the earth. His great hand reached down and seized a dragon vein from the ground, clasping it in his palm. Wave after wave of ethereal immortal mist rose upward, refreshing and fragrant, a sweet scent flowing all around.

This was a divine spring. It surged forth from within the dragon vein, flowing from ancient times without ever running dry. Rising to the surface, it seeped back into the earth’s core, forming a cycle.

“Do not push your luck.” A voice came from deep within the Divine Ruins โ€” cold, indifferent, devoid of feeling. Yet no one made a move.

“When I underwent my tribulation, you also struck against me. A single divine spring is hardly adequate compensation.” Ye Fan replied with a cool, distant glance over his shoulder, refining the vast dragon vein down to three inches in length. It glowed in the palm of his hand, immortal energy steaming from it.

This was a true divine spring โ€” on the same level as the nine springs within the ancient Primordial Forbidden Land. It was the finest source of water for cultivating immortal medicines, refining pills, and extending the vital life energy of a human body.

Such things were extraordinarily rare in the world today โ€” only within the Forbidden Zones of Life did any remain, brought there and transplanted by the supreme beings.

Ye Fan was completely without ceremony โ€” he dug out the dragon vein directly, cutting away the divine spring’s eye, and prepared to bring it back for the Heavenly Court’s use.

This was no small gain. The supreme being was displeased, but not to the point of coming out to fight to the death. Ye Fan had measured things to a proper degree โ€” he had no desire for a fight to the bitter end either.

Of course, whether or not he caused offense hardly mattered. Since on that day of his tribulation these figures had made their move against him, even if he let it go and demanded no explanation, the nature of their future relationship was already long since decided.

And so Ye Fan had come โ€” to openly and brazenly plunder and extort.

He wandered around and thoroughly surveyed every corner of the Divine Ruins, then shouldered the Heavenly South Gate and departed with great strides, showing not even the slightest respect.

The supreme being of the Divine Ruins stared at his retreating back with eyes of absolute cruelty, yet was completely powerless โ€” for without pushing to the absolute limit of self-sublimation, there was simply no way to kill that person.

Throughout the Eastern Desolation, everyone was dizzy with shock. What had Ye Fan done? Strolled in with complete ease, and carried off the Heavenly South Gate?

To think โ€” that was the gateway of the Divine Ruins, and it had changed hands just like that. People truly had no words. They were all the more in awe of his strength and power.

It was clear the supreme being had acquiesced โ€” for having previously disrupted Ye Fan’s tribulation, the two sides were now seeking a sort of “compensation” that could not be openly acknowledged, thereby establishing a kind of balance.

The Immortal Mausoleum was a barren expanse โ€” hills everywhere, each one modest in height, yet all carrying a weighty presence. Some were wreathed in a pale, lingering gloom, while others blazed with auspicious rosy light that surged toward the sky.

This place was extraordinarily mysterious. It was believed to be the burial ground of immortals from antiquity. Though every grave was empty, people maintained that the immortal bodies had simply ascended through feathering transformation, leaving no physical remains behind.

Ye Fan came and walked through it, searching from one area to the next. In years past, the Longevity Celestial Lord had been hiding here, only to fall during the great upheaval of the dark age. Yet there were still supreme beings present.

In the end, Ye Fan selected more than a hundred prehistoric stone steles from the site, pulling them all out completely and without exception. He intended to take them away and study them thoroughly.

Ye Fan seized the stone steles, and no one obstructed him. The forces of every faction in the Eastern Desolation were left completely dumbfounded โ€” and somewhat numb.

Before long, he appeared at the Primordial Forbidden Zone, approaching the border of the ancient mine. This time, he was unable to get close โ€” for several powerful forces blocked his body from advancing.

“I want nothing else โ€” only a single Primordial Life Stone.” He spoke directly, making his request known.

No one knew how much time passed, but a silvery-white stone flew out โ€” roughly the size of a washbasin, flowing with immortal light, emanating immortal essence, absolutely astonishing.

Ye Fan snatched it up with one hand and turned and walked away. The Primordial Ancient Mine was not lacking in such things, yet they were not plentiful either. Life Stones were incomparably rare in the outside world โ€” people would risk their lives for them.

Ye Fan continued on his journey, arriving at his final destination: the Sea of Samsara.

The moment he crossed through the mountain gate, a vast expanse of ocean stretched out before him, dazzling and radiant, the sound of waves surging endlessly. It too lay within the Eastern Desolation, yet it did not exist within the mortal world โ€” it was its own separate realm.

This was Ye Fan’s first time coming here. He looked at it long and carefully.

“Young one, there is nothing here worth your attention.” A cold, indifferent voice spoke.

“There is. Your life.” Ye Fan replied with calm composure. No one had expected this โ€” that at his final stop, Ye Fan would actually have intentions of making a move.
