Chapter 276: A Different Kind of Battle

Outside the window, there were no stars or moonโ€”only the tinkling of a clear spring and the occasional cry of a night bird, utterly tranquil.

Inside the room, candlelight flickered as a different kind of battle unfolded.

“Let goโ€”why are you biting me?!” Ye Fan cried out. A row of teeth marks had appeared on his arm, the pain nearly sending him tumbling off the bed.

Qin Yao’s hair was disheveled, her pearlescent teeth gleaming as she declared, “I’m biting you because I want to!”

In the swaying candlelight, the two of them on the rosewood bed traded move after moveโ€”grappling techniques and counter-grappling strikes exchanged in rapid succession, palms and fingers clashing with dull, resounding thuds.

Yet their state was far too… entangled. Both without a thread of clothing, their postures bewitching to the senses, their skin luminous, they fought at the closest of distances.

The teeth marks on Ye Fan’s arm were deepโ€”not just one, but a whole row of them connected together. He retreated slightly, opening a small gap between them.

Qin Yao’s beautiful eyes were hazy, her skin translucent and crystalline, as though carved from warm jadeโ€”a sheet of snow-white, her undulating curves shimmering with an alluring luster, every bit like a beautiful serpent.

Her loose hair danced as she continued to strike. Ye Fan was forced to meet her head-on, defending against her assault. It was not a life-or-death duel, yet it allowed no distractionโ€”the slightest lapse in focus and the other would seize the advantage.

This was a half-real, half-playful struggleโ€”one that could escalate into a genuine fight or end at any moment. Yet the scene was undeniably sultry, for they were on a bed, facing each other with nothing between them.

Qin Yao especiallyโ€”her soft, fragrant body twisting and turning set one’s heart swaying. Her devilish figure gleamed brilliantly, possessing a charm capable of bewitching the world.

Her arms were smooth as crystallized jade, fair and delicate, tracing graceful arcs through the air as they swept continuously toward Ye Fan’s vital points.

Above the rosewood bed, trail after trail of afterimages lingeredโ€”like white lightning dancing through the air, like a spirit reveling beneath the night moon. Though they were fighting, there was a strange beauty to it all.

Ye Fan naturally had no intention of being subdued. His palms and fingers moved like iron swords, blocking horizontally and vertically, like two wind wheels spinning in tandem, striking back at blinding speed as the two of them traded blows in the space of a single spark.

Swish!

Qin Yao flung her hair aside, exposing her snow-white neck. Her dark, lustrous tresses swept forward like a waterfallโ€”Ye Fan failed to dodge in time and was instantly entangled.

“Great Beauty Qin, don’t push me!” Ye Fan struggled, but felt the coils only tighten. He stopped resisting and instead leaned forward into her.

The space on the bed was limited; there was simply nowhere to evade. In an instant, Ye Fan pressed flush against Qin Yao, and this time it was his turn to open his mouth and bite down.

That crystalline, delicate pink ear had appeared at the edge of his lips. He bit down with neither too much nor too little force, refusing to let go, even as her hair wrapped around him like tendrils.

“Youโ€”let go!” Qin Yao swung both hands at Ye Fan’s pressure points, attempting to paralyze him.

Ye Fan’s spiritual perception was remarkably sharp; there was no chance she could land a hit. Without lifting his head, his hands moved swiftly and lightly as the wind, clashing again and again against her slender hands.

Qin Yao’s dark hair swirled. Her jade-like body undulated like a serpent, skin shimmering with radiance. Her strikes were heavyโ€”had Ye Fan not been the Desolate Holy Body, he might not have been able to withstand them.

Boom!

Ye Fan unleashed the Sacred Art of Battle. It was not a killing technique, but executing this secret method through minor maneuvers was extraordinarily complex nonetheless. After over a hundred exchanges, Ye Fan finally clasped both of her jade-like hands together, making it impossible for her to break free or strike again.

“Ughโ€””

Ye Fan let out a muffled grunt. His shoulder had been bitten again. The moment he made a sound, he instinctively released his mouthโ€”and that translucent ear swiftly retreated from him.

“You’re not actually trying to bite a chunk of flesh off me, are you?” Ye Fan muttered.

Qin Yao did not answer. Her pearlescent teeth gleamed as she clamped hard onto his shoulder and refused to let go, while simultaneously struggling to break her hands free and attempt a counter-grapple.

Boom!

Ignoring the bite on his shoulder, Ye Fan applied force with both hands, trying to twist Qin Yao’s arms behind her back and pin her down.

Swish!

Light flashed. Qin Yao’s supple, alluring body slid like a slippery water serpentโ€”she had wriggled free of his hold, gliding nimbly to the side. This was a secret technique of the demon clan.

Boom!

She launched a counter-offensive, placing both hands on Ye Fan’s wrists, attempting to restrain him. Her ten fingers were translucent and crystalline, emanating streams of rose-colored light that wound around his wrists.

The colored light was like strands of silkโ€”densely packed and interwoven, forming a net of radiance that bound both of Ye Fan’s arms.

At that moment, a treasure-light flickered across Ye Fan’s body. He gave a gentle tremorโ€”not enough to shatter the rose light, but enough to force Qin Yao to release her bite. Her red lips and pearlescent teeth withdrew, leaving a set of teeth marks on his shoulder.

Ye Fan’s constitution was unique; channeling his divine power freed both arms in an instant. He pressed forward and re-engaged.

Boom. Boom.

Qin Yao’s jade hands flew like fluttering butterflies, meeting Ye Fan’s palms and fingers with dull successive thuds.

At first, the two of them still deployed various secret techniques, clashing in that confined space. But the rosewood bed was truly limited in areaโ€”before long they were pressed against each other, limbs entangled, and the nature of the battle had utterly transformed into something unrecognizable.

“Youโ€”” Qin Yao’s skin flushed pink, as though draped in crimson mist.

From that point on, the battle had completely shifted into an entirely different kind of “engagement.”

Qin Yao’s hair was in disarray. Her long, jade-serpent figure, as though sculpted from pink crystal, writhed like willow smoke in the wind.

“You took enormous advantage of me today!” Qin Yao said through gritted teeth, her jade hand striking at Ye Fan on top of her.

Ye Fan met her blow for blow. Their relationship was truly unusualโ€”even in this most intimate of states, they continued to trade strikes, nothing at all like a couple deep in passion.

Boom!

Palms clashed, both their bodies shudderingโ€”yet everything continued, without end.

“You really are a beast!” Qin Yao cursed through clenched teeth.

“Better a beast than beneath one,” Ye Fan replied, catching Qin Yao’s jade finger with a firm palm before it could reach his chest.

Qin Yao’s hair drifted loosely, her whole body flushed pink. Growing increasingly agitated, she struck out again and again.

“Please, Great Beauty Qinโ€”what exactly are we right now? After everything that’s happened, you still keep ruining the mood and fighting with me.”

From start to finish they battled on, and no one knew how much time had passed before the room finally fell quiet.

“Beast!” Qin Yao’s pearlescent teeth clenched down firmly.

“At least I wasn’t called beneath a beast,” Ye Fan said with a clear tone, gazing at that supple figure.

In the second half of the night, the world was especially sereneโ€”only the tinkling of the spring in the pine grove remained, giving a sense of peaceful simplicity.

Swish!

Without a sound, a silhouette appeared in the room. The candlelight swayed, illuminating a face of breathtaking beauty.

Yan Ruyuโ€”a white robe drifting lightly, sculpting an immortal figure of matchless elegance. Black hair fell to her waist, and her flawless features could not find a single flaw.

The moment she entered the room, she sensed something was wrong. A strange feeling swept over her. When her gaze swept to the bed, her face blazed crimson.

“You twoโ€””

Qin Yao lowered her head, utterly mortified. She had been assigned to keep watch over Ye Fan, yet somehow things had evolved to this.

Ye Fan was mildly embarrassed at first, but quickly composed himself and answered with perfect calm: “We were discussing our life philosophies.”

Qin Yao had the urge to bite him again. She snatched the blanket draped over him and pulled it over her jade body, seething: “I’m not done with you!”

Yan Ruyu hastily closed her eyes, then spun around quicklyโ€”white robes billowing, a flash of radiance, and she vanished in the blink of an eye.

Ye Fan hurriedly pulled his clothing over his muscular frame and said, “Goodโ€”I hope you’re not done either.”

“Youโ€”you took every advantage, and you still dare say something like that!” Qin Yao struck out at him once more.

Boom. Boom.

Their battle erupted again, fiercer this time than before.

In the end, Qin Yao’s fury got the better of her. She swung her legs off the bed, gathered her clothes, and turned to leave.

“Tomorrow, the princess will have you killed!”

“I never went to the Eternal Hallโ€”she has no grounds to act against me. As for us… she’s already seen it, and she didn’t say anything. I already explained it, too: we were discussing our life philosophies.”

“You are absolutely insufferable!” Qin Yao turned back in fury. Her fair arms stretched out with a glow of crystalline light as she struck at Ye Fan.

Ye Fan defended passively. In the close-quarters combat of the Dao Palace’s secret realm, almost no one could suppress him. In the end, Qin Yao did not leave the room that night. It was not until the sky had turned bright and daylight poured in that thunderous sounds finally rang out from the palace among the pine grove.

“Beast!” Qin Yao stormed off and turned back with one palm strikeโ€”shattering the entire palace, burying Ye Fan within it.

In the distance, the Black Emperor was beside himself with fury, howling in pain as he clawed his way out of the rubble. Erecting his scraggly tail, he leapt high into the air and cursed a storm of profanities.

“What the hellโ€”who did this Emperor offend?! I was just trying to sleep, and I get my face smashed and get buried alive by a collapsing palace…”

His dog face drooped long and dark as he looked around for someone to blame.

After a good long while, Ye Fan finally coughed his way out of the smoke-filled wreckage.

“What the hell, kidโ€”what manner of atrocity did you commit, dragging this Emperor into your misfortune?” The big black dog first glanced at the rapidly disappearing figure of Qin Yao on the horizon, then fixed Ye Fan with an unkind glare.

It had gotten completely drunk the previous night and had no idea what had happened.

“Obviously it was an earthquake. Didn’t you see I was buried alive too?” Ye Fan said, walking over to the stream to wash himself off.

“Nonsense! An earthquake that only hits this one mountain? Look at all the other palaces on the other peaksโ€”not a scratch on any of them!” the big black dog said, its face darkening.

“You said it yourselfโ€”this is our family’s very own special earthquake.”

Not until the sun had climbed high into the sky did Tu Fei return up the mountain. Seeing all the palaces in the pine grove reduced to rubble, he stared wide-eyed and said, “What happened here? Did you get into a battle with someone?”

“Sparred with someoneโ€”accidentally knocked this whole place down in the process,” Ye Fan replied.

Tu Fei’s expression turned peculiar. He glanced behind Ye Fan and said, “Don’t tell me it was sparring with Fairy Qin Yao?”

“It was indeed sparring with herโ€”accidentally knocked this place down,” Ye Fan answered absentmindedly.

“What are you talking about?!” came Qin Yao’s voice.

She descended from the sky clad in white, a clear breeze billowing her skirt, her alluring curves on full display, her devil-like figure long and graceful beyond measure.

“I didn’t say anything…” Ye Fan hastened to explain.

But Tu Fei, true to his big-mouthed nature, chimed in: “What do you mean you said nothing? Didn’t you just say you and Fairy Qin Yao had a full night of fierce sparring right here?”

Damn it! Ye Fan could barely restrain himself from punching him.

“You two carry on sparringโ€”I won’t interrupt.” Tu Fei kicked the big black dog and turned to run.

“Damn itโ€”woof!” The big black dog gave furious chase.

Qin Yao’s voluptuous, perfectly proportioned figure trembled with indignation, then swayed forward in a mesmerizing gait, approaching with a bewitching aura. “Did you really say that?!”
