Vol 1 – Chapter 63: The Red Eagle Street Dance Competition

Fang Wan wore an oversized bright red hoodie and extremely short shorts that barely extended past the hoodie’s hem, her bare legs exposed to the cold wind without any apparent concern. She had specially gotten colorful braids done today, looking both fashionable and sexy.

“Oh, Teng Hao!” Fang Wan greeted him enthusiastically when she saw him. “You’re here!”

Teng Hao nodded at her.

“Long time no see, you’ve become even more handsome.”

“Thank you, Sister, you’re looking more beautiful too.”

Fang Wan laughed heartily: “Your sweet talk is way better than your brother’s.”

Teng Hao scratched his head embarrassedly.

After their mutual exaggerated compliments ended, Fang Wan naturally turned her attention to Ruan Yu.

“And this is?”

“Hello, I’m Ruan Yu,” Ruan Yu introduced herself.

“Oh, I know—Teng Hao’s tutor,” Fang Wan smiled at Ruan Yu. “I’ve heard them mention you. They said you were the top scorer in the college entrance exam. That’s amazing!”

“Thank you.” Ruan Yu gave Fang Wan a slight smile.

Fang Wan’s personality wasn’t as flashy as her appearance suggested. She seemed easy to get along with—no wonder she was popular and the group’s darling.

“Alright, since everyone’s here, let’s go in,” Xiao Qing spoke up.

Fang Wan raised her arm and guided Ruan Yu in first, showing the air of a hostess who wouldn’t neglect her guests.

Zhou Xihe walked up beside Ruan Yu with a smile, striking up a conversation.

“Little Sister Ruan, you’re looking beautiful today.”

“You probably say that to everyone,” Ruan Yu countered.

Earlier at the entrance, she had noticed Zhou Xihe wearing the same expression while talking to Fang Wan.

“You’re too clever. Clever women find it hard to be happy.”

“Still better than being foolishly content in poverty.”

As Zhou Xihe tried to say something more, Ruan Yu avoided him and returned to Teng Hao’s side.

Teng Hao was excitedly holding up his phone, taking photos everywhere—his first time attending such a formal competition.

The competition venue wasn’t specially decorated, though Red Eagle logos were hung everywhere. The gymnasium floor served as the stage for the finals, with the front row of spectators sitting on the ground. Each row behind them was elevated one level higher, forming a large circle—the setup was very street-style and hip-hop.

As the DJ kept switching tracks, the atmosphere grew increasingly energetic.

The tickets Teng Yi had gotten were all for good seats, with Ruan Yu’s group in the front row.

“Let’s make a bet—guess who’ll win tonight?” someone spoke up from behind.

Ruan Yu glanced back to see the speaker had an afro hairstyle, and beside him was a tall, skinny man with neck tattoos.

“That’s obvious—Bi Chengjie,” the tall man answered.

Beside her, Teng Hao let out a soft scoff.

“I wouldn’t be so sure. Teng Yi’s competing this year—Bi Chengjie’s chances are looking slim.”

Teng Hao grinned broadly, nodding continuously.

“Well, we’ll see. Loser buys drinks.”

“Deal.”

The afro and the tall man quickly settled their bet and fell silent.

Ruan Yu felt she had heard the name Bi Chengjie somewhere before. After careful thought, she finally remembered seeing it while researching the Red Eagle Street Dance Competition online.

Bi Chengjie was the champion of the previous two Red Eagle Street Dance Competitions.
