The instant Jun Buli bared his fangs, everyone turned to look at him at once. Even Ziqing snapped out of her daze, realizing her son had lost control!
Yet the Blood Master remained perfectly still, staring fixedly at Ziqing. “Woman, we know each other, don’t we?”
Ziqing turned to look back—but at that very moment, Jun Buli lunged straight at the Blood Master, and Jun Yaotiao, completely oblivious to what was happening, followed right behind him, her own small fangs bared too!
“No!”
Ziqing cried out in alarm, rushing to intervene.
“Hey, wait, you two!” Baili Weisheng was alarmed too, immediately moving to shield the Blood Master.
Jun Beiyue lunged forward to grab both his children. “Wait, hold on!”
Seeing this, Meng Duo’er, at a loss for what to do, immediately activated a barrier—not entirely sure whether she was trapping the Blood Master or protecting him. Either way, she cast a barrier around him, preventing anyone from getting close, while also keeping him from getting out.
Yet even so, the Blood Master remained lost in confusion, seemingly indifferent to everything else around him when caught up in his bewilderment.
His gaze never left Ziqing. “Woman, tell me—have I seen you before?”
That sense of familiarity churned within his blood like something alive, yet his clear-headed reason told him he had never seen this woman before—never, not once.
How could this be?
Could it be the undying blood?
What exactly was going on?
Had they tampered with the undying blood somehow? He’d kill every last one of them!
Knowing he was trapped, the Blood Master didn’t panic. Yaotiao could hold back, but Jun Buli couldn’t—he stood with his head lowered, teeth grinding audibly.
Jun Beiyue had already released Yaotiao, using both hands now to restrain his son, but it seemed to make no difference whatsoever.
For a moment, the atmosphere turned eerily strange!
The name “Xuanyuan Lige” had come far too suddenly—no one had anticipated this outcome, this unexpected twist that threw their carefully laid plans, their perfect plan, into complete disarray.
Now… what should they do?
“Blood!”
Suddenly, Situ Jing’er shouted, rushing forward to stand directly in front of Jun Buli. But at that very moment, Jun Buli abruptly lifted his head, breaking free from Jun Beiyue’s grip entirely. The instant he saw Situ Jing’er, he immediately seized her by both shoulders and lunged straight at her!
“Buli!” Everyone cried out in alarm. Jun Beiyue rushed to pull him back, and Ziqing hurried over to help too, but they quickly discovered that at this moment, no one could pull Jun Buli off at all!
Situ Haonan was terrified, rushing forward to try to drag his daughter away, but Situ Jing’er was already completely pinned beneath Jun Buli, utterly unable to move.
A cold sensation, so vivid and clear—those fangs pressed right against her neck, and Jun Buli’s distinctive scent enveloped her, familiar and foreign intertwined. Situ Jing’er’s mind went completely blank, her whole body frozen stiff.
Would she… die?
“Buli, calm down, we’ll figure something out any moment now, just calm down!”
“Son, think of all those bones in your universe-in-a-bag pouch—you’ll regret this!”
“Son, let go of Jing’er, Mother’s telling you to bite—now let her go!”
Ziqing and Jun Beiyue kept pleading, kept pulling at him, but nothing worked.
No one could tell whether he’d bitten down yet or not at this point.
“Jing’er, what’s wrong, say something, don’t scare your father!” Situ Haonan called out urgently.
“Blood…” Situ Jing’er’s voice came out very low, very faint—impossible to tell whether from fear or from weakness.
“Blood!”
Suddenly, Baili Weisheng smacked his own forehead and rushed straight toward the Blood Master, saying as he went, “Meng Duo’er, release him.”
At this point, the Blood Master, who had been staring fixedly at Ziqing this whole time, finally snapped out of it, his gaze suddenly turning icy cold, roaring furiously, “You actually want my blood?”
“Obviously—why else did we just give you the undying blood? You think we’re idiots?” Baili Weisheng said, displeased.
Only then did the Blood Master turn to look at him seriously, and found this man, too, strangely familiar!
Why—why, upon seeing this man, did the blood within him surge and churn restlessly too, as if trying to tell him something?
“The undying blood belongs to me. What exactly are you all trying to do?” the Blood Master said coldly.
“The undying blood belongs to Xuanyuan Lige, not you. Now give me some blood to save someone, or I won’t hold back!” Baili Weisheng said earnestly.
Meng Duo’er stood beside him, yet still didn’t dare release the barrier.
With Jun Buli in this state right now, if they let the Blood Master out and something went wrong, no one would be able to handle it!
“Jun Beiyue, Ziqing, have you two lost your minds? Just a little of his blood can save Buli—hurry up and get over here!” Baili Weisheng said with utmost seriousness.
At this, everyone finally snapped out of their panic.
That’s right—just a trace of the Blood Master’s blood would cure the fang addiction, no biting even necessary—how had everyone been so muddled they’d forgotten that?
“Beiyue, keep watch over him!” Ziqing said, then hurried straight toward the Blood Master.
That left only Jun Beiyue guarding Jun Buli and Situ Jing’er, though in truth, everyone else had gathered around too.
A complicated flicker crossed the Blood Master’s eyes. He realized he only felt this sense of familiarity toward Ziqing and Baili Weisheng—everyone else felt entirely, completely foreign.
But those two alone were enough. This inexplicable familiarity was deeply unsettling to him—he hated these fragments of memory that didn’t belong to him, yet kept surfacing chaotically in his mind.
Ziqing pulled out the porcelain vial from before, forcing herself to ignore the familiarity of that face, and said earnestly, “Blood Master, given that we brought the undying blood to awaken you, please allow us to borrow a few drops of your blood.”
“And why should I?” the Blood Master raised an eyebrow, replying with utter arrogance.
That familiar, arrogant tone—it was enough to break Ziqing’s heart.
That familiar voice had once, in another lifetime, snapped angrily at her.
“Because I’m giving you the courtesy of asking first before resorting to force—give it or not, you’re giving it either way!” Baili Weisheng said sharply. This was hardly the moment for Ziqing to be so polite with him!
“Courtesy before force? You think the likes of you have what it takes?” the Blood Master snorted coldly.
Unexpectedly, Ziqing made an instant decision. “Duo’er, restrain him completely!” Meng Duo’er showed no mercy, immediately deploying a binding barrier, rendering the Blood Master utterly unable to move even a single finger.
Ziqing lowered her head, drawing her dagger with fierce resolve, and at the same time, Meng Duo’er gripped her hand, drawing her into the barrier together, and without hesitation, the two of them moved to strike.
But at that moment, they discovered that not even the flashing blade of the dagger could wound this man at all!
“An undying body!” Baili Weisheng said, exasperated.
Just then, a young, innocent voice rang out. “Mama, let me!”
Jun Yaotiao rushed forward urgently, tearing open a gap in the barrier and diving straight in, biting down immediately—and this time, blood actually flowed!
“You little brat, get away from me, you little wretch!” the Blood Master roared furiously.
Hearing that familiar voice utter such words, Ziqing’s head snapped up sharply, her heart aching unbearably.
Jun Yaotiao had no addiction of her own—the moment her Sky Wolf fangs made contact with the Blood Master’s blood, they simply vanished on the spot!
Though no one had expected this outcome, everyone stared, utterly dumbfounded, at what had just happened.
Jun Yaotiao, however, moved with brisk efficiency. Ignoring whatever curses the Blood Master hurled at her, the moment her small fangs disappeared, she didn’t even pause to celebrate, quickly grabbing the porcelain vial from Ziqing’s hand and carefully collecting some of the still-flowing blood from the Blood Master’s wound, then scampered happily back toward her brother.
Everyone’s eyes followed Yaotiao as she ran, no one noticing that, at this very moment, the Blood Master was staring into Ziqing’s furious eyes, as though something had stirred in his memory.
Yet Ziqing resolutely turned her head away. She was certain—absolutely certain—that this man was not Ali.
