Chapter 1310 — Emergence

Wuuuu-ahhh…

Ominous winds howled in rage. Blood-rain poured in torrents. The scene across heaven and earth was horrifying — transformed in an instant, as if a terrible hell had torn itself open, or as if heaven and earth had shattered and the world had reached the end of its destruction.

At first, gust after gust of yellow whirlwind swept through — then turned black. The rain that fell carried the stench of blood, and only when it landed upon them and upon the ground did the people realize: this was a rain of blood.

This sight caused even Saints to tremble with horror. Nothing like it had ever been encountered before. Over the Great Moon Slope, ominous winds and bloody sunlight prevailed. Demons wailed and wept. Corpse after corpse plummeted from the sky, as if some great calamity had arrived — as if divine beings and demons were falling.

“How can this be?”

Every living being trembled. Not one person could keep from shaking in fear. Many cultivators’ legs buckled and knocked together. Such a scene had never been witnessed, never been heard of.

Wuuu-wuuu…

Throughout the burial ground of gods and demons, it was as if ten thousand ghosts were weeping, as if one divine spirit after another was roaring — bursting out, howling through heaven and earth, raging against the sky.

These phenomena were too terrifying. Every person’s scalp crawled. No one had anticipated that such great chaos would erupt. Without any semblance of order remaining, cultivators fled in all directions.

The blood-rain possessed an intense corrosive power. A single touch would pierce through the body — both form and spirit destroyed. Even the invading foreign race armies, who had come prepared, suffered devastating losses — nearly annihilated in their entirety.

The stone figure Lun Duo barely managed to escape, charging out of the Great Moon Slope, filled with shock as he gazed at that ancient well.

This was the burial ground of gods and demons in the truest sense of the word. The gods wept, the demons laughed. Ominous winds swept to the heavens. Blood-rain poured without cease. Corpse after corpse plummeted from above — terrifying beyond all reckoning.

No living being could set foot on the Great Moon Slope. Every creature was forced to withdraw — or else certain death awaited. In the storm of blood and corruption, life was claimed without mercy.

Thud!

The ancient well shook violently, sending out an eerie shriek that struck terror into the souls of all who heard it. Something colossal within was about to enter the world.

Everyone had withdrawn, standing far off in the distant heavens to watch — waiting to see what would emerge. Every single person was taut with tension to the absolute limit.

BANG!

The ancient well let out a tremendous sound, shaking violently in one great convulsion. Under the astonished gazes of the crowd, a pale hand reached up and gripped the rim of the well.

Blood-rain from the sky splashed across that hand — and it seemed to fill the hand with power. From within the well came a piercing, ghostly shriek that made every person’s hair stand on end, their scalps throbbing with pain, their very hair seeming to rise and writhe.

What was that thing? Sealed away for endless ages — sealed within an ancient well that had endured from the primordial era to the present — could there truly be a living being inside?

This was without question a staggering revelation!

Many had believed the well might contain some supreme ancestral divine weapon — one so spiritually aware that the divine nature within it made it slam against the walls of the well and create these terrifying fluctuations. Yet who could have imagined that a living being was truly climbing out?!

“This… undying and indestructible — how many tens of thousands of years has it lived, surviving a thousand calamities and ten thousand dangers and still existing!?” The crowd shook with dread.

BANG!

Another pale hand gripped the rim of the well — then a figure vaulted up with a single leap, nimble as a great ape, appearing before the eyes of the world.

“A demon!” Someone said in a trembling voice.

This was an ancient figure. The battle armor he had worn long ago had long since rotted away, hanging on his body in fragments, like broken, weathered fish scales. His hair was loose and wild, concealing his true face. His body was powerfully built — like a demon king incarnate.

Yet he appeared to be severely weakened, tilting his head back and greedily drinking in the blood-rain that fell from the sky, letting his body absorb it. He was rapidly growing stronger.

The crowd was terrified. That blood-rain, upon landing on cultivators, would pierce through them on the spot — causing their bodies to collapse and dissolve into puddles of corrupted blood. Yet this person was drawing its power into himself.

Roarrrr…

A primordial roar, like the sovereign of all wilderness causing mountains and valleys to tremble and shake — the entire Great Moon Slope swayed and shuddered, as if on the verge of shattering.

“He is actually absorbing such an overwhelmingly powerful force!” Hearts trembled and leaped with shock.

“Hurry and stop him — we cannot let him keep growing stronger. What in the world is this thing?!” Someone struck out, cleaving through the void and sacrificing a forbidden weapon — launching it toward the center of the burial ground of gods and demons.

The demon-like existence snapped its head around. Through the dense strands of hair covering its face, cold and piercing eyes gazed outward — and it reached out to grab the forbidden weapon.

CRACK!

The powerful divine weapon shattered — crumbled to dust — pulverized in its grip in an instant. Every single person felt a shudder run through them.

“There’s another one — another one has come out!”

At the mouth of the well, another pair of pale hands appeared. Pressing down hard, they launched outward — emerging with a dark and ghostly presence, like a specter entering the world.

This one was even more ravenous, thirsting for the blood-rain. It threw back its head and screamed, drinking without cease. Blood covered it from head to foot, staining its body completely crimson, seeping inward and becoming its strength.

“This is a demonic lair!” Someone screamed.

The crowd fell back on all sides. These two demon-like beings were of immeasurable power — their depths impossible to gauge — and from the look of things, more were still to come from below.

Black mist surged from the ancient well in dense, endless waves, swallowing up the entire burial ground of gods and demons. Through the haze, people could see towering silhouettes standing at the well’s edge — each one more terrifying than the last.

“Whoosh!”

From the sky above, the stone figure Lun Duo struck. He sacrificed a strange divine implement — not of metal, but of stone, evidently carved with great care, its surface far from rough. It transformed into a beam of flowing light and shot toward the mouth of the well.

One of the towering silhouettes turned its head. In the darkness, two eerie beams of light shone outward — then it sent a single punch outward that shattered the stone implement to powder.

The crowd gasped sharply. Lun Duo was a Sacred Spirit at the absolute peak of the Sacred Saint King realm — and the divine implement he had sacrificed had been destroyed. How powerful were these ancient figures?

Yet Lun Duo showed no sign of dismay — on the contrary, his expression filled with excitement as he waited in tense anticipation.

The shattered stone dust fell into the ancient well. Moments later, from far below, boundless light erupted — shooting through the clouds and into the heavens above, scattering the black mist. Terrifying power without limit — shattering the moon that hung in the sky above.

“An ancient divine implement of our Sacred Spirit lineage resides here!” Lun Duo threw back his head and let out a long, howling cry — bordering on madness. The terrifying Sacred Saint King’s roar transformed into a surging wave that reached into the starry void, as he transmitted some form of message to the outside world.

Then, moving rapidly, he produced altar after altar, opened domain gate after domain gate, and dispatched powerhouses of the foreign races to carry his message outward.

“Go — we cannot remain in this place any longer. Leave quickly — this place will become the most terrifying land of demons!” The guide of the Human Race’s Tenth City gave the order in a shout, commanding all of the human race’s powerhouses to withdraw.

“Leave this ancient star — go to the outer void. Return when conditions have settled!” The Overlord Dragon Tuo Lan issued the command to many of the ancient beasts as well.

The great armies of the human race and the ancient beasts surged outward in a vast tide — without a moment’s pause — every one of them charging toward the outer void, leaving the burial ground of gods and demons behind for the Sacred Spirits and the foreign races.

Before long, Ao Mang appeared. He abandoned his battle with the Daoist of the Azure Phoenix and dove back toward the ancient star from the outer void, planting himself outside the Great Moon Slope, his expression stirred with excitement as he stared at that demonic well.

Half an hour later, a roar shook the sky and split the earth. The incomparably terrifying fire spirit Cang Yan appeared — no longer fighting with the Old Madman — descending to take up position before the Great Moon Slope.

The two great Sacred Spirits commanded their vast armies of foreign races, encircling this place from all sides — clearly intent on seizing the treasure and obtaining the ancient implement within the well.

Ye Fan, the Daoist of the Azure Phoenix, the guide of the Human Race’s Tenth City, and the others stood in the cosmos, watching the scene before the Great Moon Slope clearly through an ancient crystal platform.

The Sacred Fire Spirit Cang Yan bore several wounds — streams of divine blood, brilliant and vivid, flowing from his body — evidently remnants of his battle with the Old Madman.

This surprised Ye Fan greatly. After fighting for so long, Cang Yan had still not suffered severe injuries — yet he had been able to contend with the Old Madman as an equal. His power was truly of a peerless caliber!

What allowed Ye Fan to exhale in relief was that the Old Madman appeared uninjured — with the bearing of invincibility — standing beneath this stretch of the starry sky, waiting for whatever action would follow.

BOOM!

Heaven and earth cracked and crumbled. Before the Great Moon Slope, at several different positions, enormous gateways appeared in succession — and from each one, a terrifying evil god stepped through!

Some were shrouded in a tide of blood-light, some were enveloped in black mist, some were wreathed in swirling primordial chaos-energy. Staggering phenomena in every direction. The entire ancient star was filled with their powerful and sinister aura — surging even up into the starry void.

Four great evil gods in total had appeared, each one followed by a vast army at their backs, banners and flags unfurled, snapping and roaring in the wind, shaking the sky to pieces.

Uhh-nyeh-lah-dee…

The two Sacred Spirits, Ao Mang and Cang Yan, chanted an ancient incantation in unison — as if in prayer, as if in summons — waves upon waves of powerful divine thought penetrating down into the ancient well.

Blood-light reached to the heavens. Demonic clouds blotted out the sun. The well continued to spew terrifying blood-mist in endless surges — its ominous energy striking cold fear into the heart. Yet great streams of immortal light also shot upward from time to time.

The Daoist of the Azure Phoenix gave a light sigh and said: “In the age of myths, the Dao Sovereign in his later years slew a Sacred Spirit of unimaginable and terrifying power, intending to refine its blood essence and leave a blessing for future generations.”

Yet with the Dao Sovereign’s life nearing its end, time had run out, and the refinement could not be completed. In the end, the only option had been to seal it away within seven demonic wells.

Like wine being aged — if the process succeeded, the moment the seal was opened would release a fragrant aroma. But if it failed, naturally the result would be a tide of ominous mist, transforming into calamity.

The Dao Sovereign’s seal had not been able to transform the Sacred Spirit into immortal liquid. The several demonic wells had become burial grounds — breeding grounds for gods and demons.

Ahhhh…

Outside the Great Moon Slope, screams rang out without cease. The twenty-odd towering silhouettes standing guard at the well’s rim lunged outward in all directions. Powerful figures within the foreign race armies were shattered apart one after another — falling in entire swaths.

The four ancient evil gods, together with the two great Sacred Spirits, burned with fury and struck out together — charging forward without fear of the blood-rain.

BOOM!

Suddenly, the ancient well ruptured open — a surge of aura capable of making even a Great Saint tremble swept outward in all directions, shooting from beneath the earth up into the heavens.

CRACK!

The Human Race’s Tenth City, seated in outer space above, detonated on the spot — reduced to a field of rubble. The last two moons still orbiting the ancient star were torn into four pieces.

A pristine white lotus flower, fully a zhang in diameter, rose up from within the shattered ancient well. The moment it appeared, it had already caused phenomena this terrifying!

Within the blood-light, within the black mist, this enormous lotus flower was white as snow and crystal-clear — utterly pure and transcendent, like the most other-worldly of sacred objects!

Cang Yan and Ao Mang seemed to feel something at the same moment. They chanted in loud voices, their bodies trembling. And the four great evil gods were also struck with horror — surges of dread gripping their hearts — falling back in repeated steps.

From within the pristine white flower petals, streams of blood seeped out — as if something of flesh and blood was wrapped within. Strand upon strand of blood was blooming with an undying immortal radiance!
