Everyone present found what they witnessed deeply unsettling — a dried-up ancient well, sealed since time immemorial, had lain dormant for countless tens of thousands of years since the age of myth. Yet the moment its seal was broken, powerful beings crawled out from within. It was truly beyond comprehension.
What made it all the more extraordinary was that when the demonic well shattered, an enormous lotus flower rose up, blooming with divine radiance amidst the blood mist and demonic energy. It was pristine white and crystalline, surrounded by mountains of corpses and seas of blood — eerie and mysterious all at once.
The fluctuations it emanated were overwhelmingly oppressive. Crack after crack split open through the void, spreading across the entire ancient star. Following the destruction of the Human Race’s Tenth City and two moons, vast ripples appeared across the vast sky.
“Ahhh…”
This display of power shook the ancient and dazzled the present — it was nothing short of terrifying. Even the evil gods and sacred beings were retreating, unable to help but cry out.
The several great powerhouses led their forces in total retreat, piercing through the domain gate at the first opportunity and withdrawing with their armies like a receding tide, not daring to linger even for a moment.
Outside the domain, the human powerhouses felt chills run down their spines as waves of cold air rose within them. What manner of evil creature was this, that it had frightened away several Great Sages?
“This is truly terrifying. No immortal liquid was ever refined, yet what was nurtured instead is a divine specter. This is a grave catastrophe!” The Green Phoenix Daoren’s expression turned solemn.
In the age of myth, the Dao Venerable had slain a supreme sacred being and sealed it within the well, laying down numerous formation arrays. It was akin to a wine cellar — once the flesh and blood essence transformed into immortal wine, it might not necessarily cultivate a supreme sovereign of the human race, but it would absolutely allow many powerhouses to advance their cultivation by a significant measure.
“The dried-up well has become a land of blood and filth, giving rise to a terrifying demonic lotus. They are only retreating temporarily — they will return before long.” The Green Phoenix Daoren rendered this judgment.
This pristine white lotus flower contained within it the flesh and blood of the sacred being from ages past, as well as an ancient artifact. The moment it emerged into the world, the ancestral artifact was in a state of reawakening — it would slay gods if gods stood in its way, and slaughter Buddhas if Buddhas dared obstruct it. Even Great Sages could not afford to pit themselves against it head-on.
“What?! The sacred being’s flesh and blood has been preserved all this time — still incorruptible even now?” Ye Fan was stunned.
The Green Phoenix Daoren nodded, his expression grave. That sacred being had possessed a physical body, and in its time had been powerful beyond measure, standing at the absolute pinnacle. Only when the Dao Venerable personally acted was it subdued and slain.
Within the petals of the pristine white lotus, divine radiance shimmered within. Strands of blood seeped out from between the petals, dazzlingly brilliant. Though only a small amount, it was filled with undying divinity — impossibly radiant.
This was the true divine blood born from a sacred being with a physical body!
Blood approaching the Emperor level — this was the flesh and blood of a quasi-Emperor, or perhaps an even more powerful existence, preserved to this day.
Over the following half-month, the entire ancient star rumbled and trembled. The Great Dao was suppressed, and the sound of three thousand ancient demons chanting scriptures rang out, filling the air with boundless dread.
“What a shame — not a single drop of immortal liquid was ever refined, yet what was cultivated instead is a cellar full of divine specters!” The Green Phoenix Daoren was deeply displeased.
Even a single drop would have been enough to advance someone’s cultivation, enough to lay the Dao foundation for a young child, granting them limitless potential in the future.
And of course, it could also raise the dead and restore flesh to bleached bones — a precious pill capable of saving and preserving life.
In those ancient times, the Dao Venerable’s intent in refining and transforming this sacred being was to treat it as an immortal divine medicine — to refine a cauldron of divine pills.
What a pity that it fell short at the final step.
Half a month later, the fluctuations across the entire ancient star gradually settled. The pristine white lotus closed shut, encasing the sacred being’s flesh and blood along with the ancient artifact, no longer releasing its divine might.
And at this moment, the two great sacred beings and the evil god finally reappeared, launching their most ferocious assault yet.
On this ancient star, the alien race’s armies swept in like a tide overwhelming the sky, bringing with them vast quantities of forbidden weapons and carving numerous formation patterns, all pressing down together toward the ancient well.
The great battle began — the world-shaking war to assault the ancient well was set in motion.
“I too must act now. Word has it that supremely powerful beings from other star domains will be arriving. Whether this battle bodes well or ill is hard to say.” The Green Phoenix Daoren turned and vanished.
The human race’s path guardians had agreed upon a plan: to intercept the evil god and the sacred beings at the most critical moment and exhaust them to death before the ancient well.
Old Madman, the Green Phoenix Daoren, and others of their caliber — the pinnacle Great Sages — were naturally the most supreme fighting force available, and everything would henceforth depend on them holding the line.
Of course, the human race’s path guardians could not move openly. Instead, they had to seize the right moment to strike — a single sword thrust at the throat to execute the evil god and the others at the most critical juncture.
Boom!
The great battle erupted. The evil god and the sacred beings all charged forward, assaulting the demonic well, unleashing waves upon waves of laws, purifying the turbid rain of blood and carving open a path.
Yet from within the well, more than twenty imposing figures immediately surged out, each overflowing with boundless magical power and rolling with death energy — all were Death Saints, charging forward together to slaughter.
“Die!”
The peerless fire spirit Cang Yan let out a thunderous battle cry. Radiant light burst from his entire body with overwhelming power as ancient symbols flashed before him one after another, flying forward to suppress.
Splat… Splat…
Streams of foul blood splattered upward as four ancient beings crumbled in succession, reduced to pools of rotting blood that dissolved into the Great Moon Slope, meeting their end.
“ROAAARRR…”
From deep within the ancient well came terrible roars as several dreadful creatures surged upward — beings formed by the condensation of blood mist, each one boundlessly powerful.
“These are formed from the blood of a sacred being’s ancestors!” Ao Mang let out a shout, drawing in a sharp breath of cold air, his entire body going cold.
This was blood that had touched the Emperor realm, now transformed into demons possessing self-awareness — carrying within them a fraction of the laws and order from that being’s lifetime. Absolutely terrifying beyond measure.
These were the divine specters nurtured within the ancient well!
Their strength was comparable to Great Sages. They charged forward to kill immediately, dragging Cang Yan, Ao Mang, the evil god, and the others into a grueling battle.
“Kill…!”
Both sides engaged in fierce and brutal combat, a sight difficult to behold. It was a clash of like against like. Blood mist sprayed from within the ancient well, rousing many ancient corpses frozen beneath the ice back to life, turning them into slaves that charged forward desperately to attack. Under the command of several blood demons, they harvested lives without pause.
The races of the star field suffered devastating casualties, forced at one point to retreat and cease their assault. But the lure of the ancient artifact drove them back time and again to resume the grinding war of attrition.
The four evil gods and two sacred beings fought desperately against the blood demons, yet the others found themselves unable to withstand the more than twenty imposing figures that had first crawled from the ancient well. The fighting was brutally savage.
The war reached a fever pitch!
Cang Yan and Ao Mang chanted incantations unceasingly, hoping to stir the ancestral artifact within the pristine white lotus and draw it out. The lotus trembled again and again, with strands of blood seeping out from within — yet it refused to release its hold.
“Brother Cang Yan, let us intervene!”
Suddenly, one of the evil gods roared. His entire body was a pale gold, like a divine being, with four faces growing from his head, exuding boundless majesty.
Boom!
A Divine Refining Cauldron flew out, emanating vast and imposing might. Even from deep within the star field, Ye Fan felt wave after wave of trembling in his heart, his expression turning to one of shock.
This was an extreme-Dao Emperor’s weapon!
A certain race from the depths of the star field possessed an extreme-Dao weapon. No wonder the Green Phoenix Daoren had warned him — unless absolutely necessary, he must not reveal the Green Copper Cauldron, or it would be seized by the evil gods.
These people, holding Emperor weapons, were absolutely invincible. They could sweep through an entire region of the cosmic star field. At his current cultivation level, wielding the Green Copper Cauldron would certainly not yet make him a match for them.
The Divine Refining Cauldron was cyan in color, gleaming brilliantly and radiating splendor — emanating the Pressure Aura of an ancient great Emperor, making all who beheld it tremble.
This was an Emperor weapon forged from feathered azure gold. Layered wave patterns like wings adorned its surface, as though transcending into immortal flight, possessing immeasurable power!
The Immortal Refining Cauldron — it belonged to the Radiance Clan, an exceedingly ancient and powerful clan from the depths of the star field. The members of this clan had four faces growing from their heads and their entire bodies were a pale gold, exuding extreme majesty and strength.
Ye Fan was dazed. When he had been in the Northern Dipper, he had once encountered this clan — they were one of the ten thousand clans of the primordial era. Yet in the Northern Dipper star domain, they had been nowhere near this powerful, not even qualifying as an ancient royal clan.
He had not expected that in the depths of the star field they wielded such dominance, holding such an exalted position, and even possessing an extreme-Dao ancient Emperor weapon — the supreme Divine Refining Cauldron!
That their clan’s Great Sage was called an evil god said everything about how supremely terrifying and powerful they were.
The Divine Refining Cauldron was golden-cyan throughout, dazzlingly brilliant. Wave after wave of feather-like patterns emerged on its surface as extreme-Dao divine might burst forth — the cauldron’s spout swallowed and expelled radiance, attempting to draw the pristine white lotus inside.
In this moment, the entire ancient star rumbled as if it were about to shatter.
“ROAARRR…”
The blood demons howled. They suddenly all plunged into the pristine white lotus, which also erupted with terrifying might — not the least bit weaker than the extreme-Dao divine power.
Clang… Clang…
Petal after petal of the lotus bloomed open, growing larger and larger — snow-white and crystalline, flawlessly translucent, emanating a faint fragrance.
One zhang… ten zhang… one thousand zhang!
When the enormous lotus fully bloomed, it reached a diameter of one thousand zhang, exposing the flesh and blood within. Divine blood radiance split the heavens and earth — impossible to look upon directly.
An aura not much weaker than an ancient great Emperor permeated the air — so terrifying that one felt an irresistible urge to prostrate in worship.
“That is…”
Everyone was stunned. They all beheld what lay within the lotus — and especially the sacred being clan, who could not help but cry out.
At the center of the snow-white lotus was a massive hand, hundreds of zhang in length. Within its palm it gripped a stone decree, and both together released supreme divine might. Just as when it first appeared half a month ago — it swept all before it, destroying everything in its path.
“It is an ancestor of the sacred being clan’s hand, gripping an ancient artifact left by its owner!” Ao Mang cried out, his expression stirred with agitation.
Boom!
Yet at this very moment, that massive hand raised itself upright. Holding the stone decree, it cleaved downward toward the Divine Refining Cauldron — its divine might covering the world, courageous and unstoppable.
Everyone was stunned. The evil god of the Radiance Clan desperately operated the Divine Refining Cauldron, causing it to awaken and emanate the ancient Emperor’s majesty to resist this terrifying massive hand and stone decree.
“That is a supreme sacred being from the age of myth. Though it was slain countless ages ago, this is its hand — gripping the stone decree it wielded in life — and when it strikes down like this, it is impossible to resist!”
The alien races were filled with dread and cried out in alarm. Everyone fell into chaos. Even Ao Mang and Cang Yan’s expressions turned ghastly, for they deeply understood the terror of that ancestor. Had it not shared the same era as the Dao Venerable, it would have been absolutely invincible beneath the stars!
Boom!
The most terrifying collision occurred. The Divine Refining Cauldron resisted that massive hand and the stone decree. Between the two, brilliant radiance erupted and swept across the entire ancient star.
“Ahhh…”
A chorus of agonized cries rang out. One of the four evil gods, who had been positioned slightly farther from the Divine Refining Cauldron, was shattered inch by inch along with the clan he commanded under the stone decree’s strike — then exploded, dissolving into blood mist.
An ancient great Emperor cannot be opposed!
A sacred being ancestor from the age of myth had not yet attained the Emperor realm — and only a single hand remained, devoid of life. Yet when it swung this stone decree, it still possessed such power — enough to bury an evil god and an entire clan. How utterly terrifying.
No one had anticipated that a hand nearly dissolved into a pool of blood from its seal would still be so overwhelmingly frightening even after losing its former divine capabilities. It was simply unimaginable.
How powerful were true great Emperors, really?
Cang Yan, Ao Mang, and the remaining three evil gods led their clan members in rapid retreat, using the Divine Refining Cauldron to resist, every one of their hearts running cold.
Boom!
Outside the domain, asteroid after asteroid exploded. Under the extreme-Dao divine might, nothing could endure — they burst like fireworks in bloom.
For even the absolute pinnacle Great Sages were fully driving Emperor weapons, with immortal might rippling outward — nothing could resist!
As for this ancient life star — had the various imprints left behind by an ancient great Emperor not been present, it would have been reduced to dust in an instant. Yet even so, crack after crack was appearing across its surface, and it was clearly on the verge of breaking apart.
Boom!
The moment the sacred beings and the three evil gods withdrew from the ancient star, a wild and domineering figure suddenly appeared — with a single punch striking down, divine might covering the world, Ao Mang was beaten to a pulp alive, reduced to stone fragments and blood mist. This time, he could never be reborn again.
“How dare you!” The evil god of the Radiance Clan erupted in fury, raising the Demon Refining Cauldron to capture him.
Yet Old Madman possessed the Word Technique for “Movement,” and in the first instant plunged into the domain gate, disappearing into the depths of the cosmos without a trace.
“Immortal liquid — at last a few drops of immortal liquid have appeared!” Ye Fan was astonished. He cultivated the Heaven-Piercing Source Technique, which could see through dragon veins, and he had glimpsed crystalline liquid dripping deep within the shattered ancient well.
“This is our sacred being lineage’s ancestral artifact. The stone decree records the Heaven-Mending Technique, which can allow those among us sacred beings who have appeared in the world ahead of time to attain the perfect realm!” Cang Yan declared, no longer paying attention to anything else. He borrowed the Divine Refining Cauldron from the evil god and charged at the ancient star once more.
