Chapter 1600: Fighting to the Death

“BANG!”

Reincarnation Lord’s palm struck at Ye Fan’s skull, colliding with the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s fist, erupting in blazing light, as if the end of the world had come, countless stars igniting simultaneously before exploding.

They moved together with the light, speed reaching the very limit of this world. In that collision, the flow of time itself seemed to stall, even threatening to flow backward.

Fighting soul to soul, Ye Fan was far too outmatched — he lacked the corresponding Imperial Dao Law; if he truly tried that, he would be instantly killed!

But now, having opened up such a good position, closing in at close range, physical blood-and-flesh combat was his greatest advantage. Naturally he wouldn’t give it up, fighting desperately.

A trailing afterimage left behind, Ye Fan’s leg swept around, sweeping toward Reincarnation Lord like the Milky Way rolling in, the shockwave it stirred up boundless, shattering the star region ahead!

Yet Reincarnation Supreme vanished in an instant, and then Ye Fan felt a sharp pain in his shoulder — several gashes of blood appearing there, several tendons of flesh torn away, blood dripping freely.

Rumble!

Reincarnation Lord was too powerful — as he turned, the star region shattered into pieces, spreading to another sea of stars, numerous great stars exploding.

As a Supreme Being, possessing an Emperor’s body, his combat talent was simply too overwhelming. Even with Ye Fan possessing the shell of the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, unrivaled in close combat throughout the universe, he still gained no advantage.

“Splat!”

Ye Fan’s chest bones, blood streaming freely, several bones nearly snapped — clearly Reincarnation Supreme was going for his heart.

“Kid, you managed to procure such a body, but do you think that’s enough to fight a Supreme Being? You’re still far from it!” Reincarnation Supreme said coldly.

Ye Fan said nothing — this was simply the truth. What distinguished Emperors from Sovereigns? In his youth, he’d been no weaker than Ye Fan, and afterward he’d gone through endless bloody battles, one victory after another, fighting his way up to Great Emperor!

Ye Fan was very strong, and now possessed a body capable of contending with a Great Emperor — but overall, the gap remained vast.

That Reincarnation Supreme had been able to attain the Dao was proof enough that he’d been an extraordinary figure in his youth, having lived through far more bloody battles than Ye Fan, let alone his experiences at the Quasi-Emperor and Great Emperor levels.

Ye Fan, gifted by heaven, peerless and matchless, was suffering a great disadvantage in this moment, covered in blood — this wasn’t like the same-level human lightning bolts of the tribulation, this was a true Imperial Dao figure he’d encountered after forcibly elevating himself.

Still, amid the spray of sacred blood, Ye Fan quickly steadied himself somewhat against the disadvantage, disregarding consequences entirely, willing to perish together, charging forward to strike.

“Splat!”

Ye Fan’s palm strike lashed out, like a stretch of star river exploding, leaving his left flank open to his opponent while directly attacking toward his immortal platform, disregarding the cost, fighting with everything!

Unsurprisingly, Ye Fan’s abdomen, strong as a Sacred Body was, still got sliced open, crimson blood spraying out — but his strike also nearly landed on his opponent’s immortal platform, grazing his face, flesh and blood flying.

Reincarnation Supreme snorted coldly, his cheekbone exposed, blood-soaked, his expression turning somewhat savage, looking quite terrifying.

“One kick could stomp to death a thousand insects like you — a mere ant, borrowing a shell and thinking you can defy heaven?” Reincarnation Lord said coldly and distantly, not taking Ye Fan seriously at all, not placing him in his heart in the least.

“Beast, don’t think too highly of yourself!” Ye Fan rarely cursed outright, but facing several Ancient Supreme Beings, it felt as though a fire were burning in his chest.

BOOM!

Ye Fan unleashed everything he had, swinging out the Heavenly Emperor Fist, his strongest physical attack, shattering the universe, one stretch of star river after another destroyed.

Even at the edge of the star region, under the might of this vast fist intent, the heavenly bodies seemed to be knocked from their original orbits, trembling along with this force.

“There’s something to you. You’re a special kind of ant, but I’ve killed more geniuses than you’ve ever met! Unless you become an Emperor, an unrealized prodigy is nothing at all. Throughout the ages, there have been too many monstrous talents, but ninety-nine percent of them all died!”

Reincarnation Supreme laughed cruelly, pressing forward, directly using his physical body to fight Ye Fan in close combat — this was the posture of one transcendent above all living beings, looking down disdainfully upon the eternal wilds of the universe.

“BOOM!”

Yet he had underestimated Ye Fan’s resolve and fighting will, his unwavering, life-forsaking fighting spirit, willing to spray blood on the spot just to tear off a piece of flesh from his opponent.

Rather be left half-crippled than fail to tear a piece of flesh from his foe, disregarding his own life entirely!

The Heavenly Emperor Fist erupted, appearing one after another, its trajectory mysterious and unfathomable, using the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s might to attack the Supreme Being, pushing this forbidden fist technique to its absolute limit.

Divine might, peerless throughout the world!

The universe cracked apart, the sea of stars dimmed, everything threatening to be shattered — whatever stood in the way would be destroyed, as if a true Heavenly Emperor had truly been revived!

“Splat!”

This time, the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body’s fist crashed into Reincarnation Lord’s palm, arriving just a fraction late but landing true — the Supreme Being’s combat instincts were too formidable, terrifying beyond measure.

But this time, Ye Fan wasn’t competing in technique — he was using pure brute force, his entire body’s essence blood boiling, blazing like fire.

“BOOM!”

His grasped fist, nearly crystalline, blazing light scorching the universe, shattering the star region — Ye Fan’s fist nearly exploded, but Reincarnation Lord’s palm shattered as well.

A world-shaking explosion, and the two separated, both their right hands ruined.

“Trying to play Heavenly Emperor with me? You’re not one yet — far from it!” Ye Fan sneered coldly.

Reincarnation Lord’s expression darkened. He and Ye Fan both raised their hands at the same time, pointing at each other from a distance, then blood energy surging, repairing their palms.

Ye Fan was more than happy to keep fighting in close physical combat — his original goal had already been achieved. Dying now wouldn’t feel unjust; he’d managed to wound an Ancient Supreme Being, making him pay with his most precious life-blood.

Though Reincarnation Lord said nothing, to him this was absolutely an unbearable humiliation — having his physical palm destroyed by someone he considered an ant, and mocked so openly besides — this was undoubtedly an insult.

“Be careful, don’t capsize your boat in the gutter!” Emperor Light-Dark warned.

“Suppressing geniuses, holding the sky in one hand — there are no miracles before me!” Reincarnation Lord said, his face darkening, closing in directly.

He liked to meet force with force, likewise favoring close combat as his method of fighting — this was the pride of a Supreme Being, looking down disdainfully upon all living beings. And Ye Fan, naturally, was more than happy to oblige, hoping to use this body to fight a bit longer, to extract more of the Supreme Being’s life essence.

Of course, this was a matter of degree. If Ye Fan met with misfortune in this process, then what Emperor Wushi had left behind would become impossible to use.

Blood splattered everywhere. At first, it took Ye Fan dozens of exchanges, fighting recklessly, to land a single hit on his opponent, while Reincarnation Supreme drew blood from him again and again.

But as the fight wore on, Ye Fan’s results improved at astonishing speed — soon it only took a dozen or so exchanges to draw a splash of blood from his opponent!

Compared to Ye Fan’s past battles against other opponents, this result was undoubtedly still quite frustrating, but considering this was a Supreme Being, one who had passed through this very realm himself, whose combat techniques had already reached the pinnacle of mastery, achieving this result was already utterly defiant of heaven’s order!

There was no other reason for it — simply because his opponent was a Supreme Being, one who had already attained the Dao.

An ordinary person, even given ten Emperor-tier bodies to merge into one against the laws of heaven, facing a true Supreme Being, would still meet with defeat, only able to go to their death.

It could only be said that Ye Fan’s combat awareness was defiant of heaven’s order, advancing at lightning speed in this desperate situation — in his duel against the Supreme Being, he was discovering an entirely different world.

What was being contested here was no longer secret techniques or combat skills, but experience, life, will, courage, resolve, and so many other things, elevating the fight to its utmost sublimity, transcending both art and the Dao itself!

Without a doubt, in ordinary times, this would have been an unparalleled, once-in-eternity opportunity for a heaven-defying breakthrough — every cultivator in the world would go mad with desire, hoping for such a chance.

But now, in this era of apocalyptic bloody calamity, Ye Fan could perish at any moment — there was nothing to be joyful about. He would rather have never experienced any of this, would rather this age of darkness had never come at all.

Fighting himself into a frenzy, Ye Fan glimpsed another world entirely, his own world suddenly expanding manifold — this wasn’t the same-level human lightning bolt, but a true Imperial Dao Supreme Being, and his combat skill was advancing at breakneck speed, as if being honed like an immortal sword.

Ye Fan was covered in blood, but facing this once-in-eternity battle of vastly disparate realms in close combat, the benefits he reaped were immense — he was drawing close to something almost divine.

He felt that, if he could survive this, his path of close-quarters combat would gradually become unrivaled under heaven!

Ye Fan’s chest bones had broken, several of them crushed and held in Reincarnation Lord’s hand, crunching and crackling, blood dripping, looking savage and terrifying.

And Ye Fan had torn off a piece of Reincarnation Lord’s flesh as well, stomping it into a bloody paste underfoot, spitting once, cold lightning flashing in his eyes, charging forward once more.

This was a tragic, bloody battle. Ye Fan had found his own domain of combat, along with his powerful innate talent, growing ever more valiant.

“BOOM!”

The two collided again, a soft splat sounding out — Ye Fan’s heart was ripped from his body by Reincarnation Lord, crushed in his grip, an unbearable sight!

And his spine had been struck by a bladed palm strike, nearly cutting him in half at the waist, his upper body and lower body almost separated, blood spraying across the universe.

Yet even paying such a price, Ye Fan gained yet another huge achievement — he was willing to pay this devastating price to snap off one of Reincarnation Lord’s forearms.

Relentless, enduring all manner of pain upon his body, he forcibly snapped off his opponent’s left forearm, blood gushing forth, splattering him from head to toe, leaving him drenched in blood.

Reincarnation Lord finally let out a great roar of fury — this was truly too costly. Being gravely wounded like this by what he considered a mere ant, he felt it as an outright insult.

An explosion burst between them, both flung backward. Ye Fan employed the Word Secret, repairing his wounded body.

“Don’t waste time on an insect.” Stone Emperor reminded Reincarnation Lord, brow furrowed, somewhat unable to bear watching any longer. Reincarnation Lord clearly possessed formidable power, yet insisted on fighting in close combat, which displeased Stone Emperor to watch.

Hmm!

Reincarnation Lord advanced, his forehead bursting with light, his entire body erupting with endless order-chains of divine force, like chains of immortal gold, piercing in all directions, sweeping straight toward Ye Fan.

Especially the most powerful Imperial Dao Law, surging toward Ye Fan’s immortal platform, intent on killing his soul, obliterating him from the very source.

“Ant, I’ll just stomp you to death — no time to bother with you!” Reincarnation Lord said, and did exactly that, one great foot stamping down, carrying endless law with it, aiming to trample Ye Fan’s body.

“BOOM!”

At this moment, not only did the Green Bronze Cauldron blaze with light, but within Ye Fan’s immortal platform, that golden immortal garment shone resplendently as well, vibrating with a Great Emperor’s ripples, guarding his skull, blocking the assault.

He knew that with two Emperor-tier artifacts present, no matter what, they wouldn’t be breached in a short time.

At the same moment, a treasure vase appeared in his hand, the blood within dazzling to the extreme. The moment the stopper was pulled, it directly sent the universe into violent tremors, as if the eternal blue heavens themselves were about to be ground to dust.

Too terrifying — that blood contained endless fragments of the Great Dao, as if the world itself were ending, directly severing the ten thousand paths of the starry sky, threatening to reduce everything to dust.

Yet Stone Emperor, the Lord of the Void Ruins, and Emperor Light-Dark all had their divine light surge violently, showing not the slightest concern — instead, hope and burning eagerness shone in their eyes as they all looked over.

“Blood containing Imperial Dao Law — you want to use it against us, hahaha…” Reincarnation Lord laughed, then abruptly stopped, saying grimly, “The blood flowing in our bodies is exactly this kind of blood — to us, it’s nothing but ‘sweet dew,’ able to nourish our life-force!”

Yet no sooner had his words fallen than dozens of drops of this blood automatically flew out, splashing down onto the array platform beneath Ye Fan’s feet, directly opening the void, a portal appearing!

Stone Emperor started, swinging his great halberd forward, but it was useless — some supreme, unsurpassed law had pinned this place in place, just as the Black Emperor had predicted, unbreakable, so long as Ye Fan stood upon this array platform!

Brilliant light erupted, surging and turbulent — the great battle was about to grow even more intense!
