Chapter 322: The 1st, 15th, and 30th

“Fu Huan.”

Fish Granny’s aged voice rang out as she called these two words softly to Mu Yunjin.

Mu Yunjin’s heart suddenly trembled. She narrowed her eyes and repeated, “Fu Huan…”

“Since our last parting until today, this old one can no longer count how many years have passed. However, being able to see the Master once more in my lifetime, I have no regrets!” After speaking, Fish Granny smiled mysteriously and turned to leave.

Mu Yunjin watched Fish Granny’s retreating figure, gradually clenching her fists.

Qiqi walked to Mu Yunjin’s side, scratched her head, and said, “Fish Granny is the eldest elder in the pavilion. It’s said she can comprehend the laws of heaven and has lived for several hundred years.”

“Judging from her reaction just now, it seems she has met the Master before?” Qiqi asked.

Mu Yunjin pouted and shook her head. “I’ve never met her.”

However, the name Fu Huan seemed somewhat familiar to her; there was a vague sense of recognition in her heart.

If this Fish Granny said that the Fengyu Pavilion was her true place of belonging, and she no longer needed to disguise herself as someone else to live, then who was Mu Yunjin?

“Let’s not worry about that now. Master, let me show you around first,” Qiqi said.

“Alright.” Mu Yunjin looked around at the beautiful mountains and waters, thinking they were indeed worth exploring properly.

Seeing Mu Yunjin nod in agreement, Qiqi led her toward the rows of wooden cabins.

At this moment, Hua Ying also approached.

“Master, why did you bring him here too?” Hua Ying glanced at Huang Yan beside her, her tone indifferent, showing neither pleasure nor displeasure.

“He…” Mu Yunjin also glanced at Huang Yan before saying, “Chu Li assigned him to protect me.”

Hearing this, Huang Yan quickly agreed, “Yes, our Prince ordered me to protect the Princess.”

“Then stay with the Master. Don’t follow me. I have many medicinal pills to refine and no time to deal with you.” Hua Ying said and was about to leave.

“Wait.” Huang Yan called out to her. “The Princess won’t have any accidents here, so what pills are you refining? I also have some knowledge of pill refinement.”

Hua Ying was surprised. “You know how to refine pills?”

“Yes, I understand both internal and external alchemy,” Huang Yan raised his eyebrows proudly.

“Really?” Hua Ying was skeptical.

Hearing her doubt, Huang Yan became even more confident. “Really! Want to try? If I’m lying to you, may I die a terrible death!”

“Let’s go.” Hua Ying tilted her head toward Huang Yan, gesturing for him to follow her.

This made Huang Yan even happier, and he quickly followed Hua Ying’s steps.

Mu Yunjin watched Huang Yan’s retreating figure with disdain. “This guy is quite the smooth talker.”

“I don’t know where Prince Ning found him,” Qiqi couldn’t help but laugh.

Mu Yunjin pouted, “I’m curious too.”

Arriving near the wooden cabins, Mu Yunjin looked around. “Do you all live here?”

“Yes, we’ve always lived here. In the past years, when we couldn’t sense your aura, we scattered to search for traces of you. Later, after the spiritual token appeared and Xiumei and I found you, everyone became much freer than before,” Qiqi replied.

“By the way, there’s a room here reserved for you,” Qiqi added.

Mu Yunjin pursed her lips, her eyes brightening at these words. “Take me to see it.”

Qiqi nodded and led Mu Yunjin further ahead. Behind the foot of the mountain was a courtyard. After pushing open the courtyard door, inside was a bamboo grove with a bluestone path cutting through its center.

Mu Yunjin followed Qiqi along the bluestone path. Coming into view were three small cabins with the same layout as those outside.

“Master, this is your cabin.” Qiqi walked into one of the small cabins and pushed open the door.

Mu Yunjin walked closer and saw that inside the cabin was a wooden bed with a window beside it. Sunlight streamed through the window, shining on the wooden bed, giving it a warm appearance.

“Qiqi, starting tomorrow, I’ll move here to live,” Mu Yunjin said as she sat down in a chair, lowering her eyelids.

“Huh?” Qiqi thought she had misheard.

Moving closer to Mu Yunjin, she exclaimed in surprise, “Master, why do you suddenly want to live here? You and Prince Ning…”

“There’s nothing wrong between us. It’s just that things are a bit chaotic outside lately, and I want to find a quiet place to stay,” Mu Yunjin explained.

“That’s wonderful! We’ve always wanted Master to come back and stay for a while, but since Master is married, there have been many inconveniences. This is a good opportunity,” Qiqi said with a smile.

Mu Yunjin curled her lips into a smile. “Then I’ll move in tomorrow!”

“You’re not just saying that, are you…”

“Don’t worry, I’m not.”

When she returned to the Prince’s mansion, Chu Li had already returned. Seeing Mu Yunjin enter the door, he raised his eyes. “Where did you go?”

“I went to the Fengyu Pavilion.” Mu Yunjin sat down beside him.

She then continued, “Chu Li, I won’t go to Mount Xiuyan.”

Chu Li’s eyes flickered, and upon hearing her words, he seemed to feel a sense of relief. However, what Mu Yunjin said next made his expression grow colder.

“I’ll stay at the Fengyu Pavilion instead. The location is hidden, and nothing will go wrong there.” Mu Yunjin pretended to be relaxed, revealing a sweet smile.

Chu Li frowned, his gaze darkening. “You’ve decided?”

“Yes, Mount Xiuyan is quite far, and the journey would be too tiring. It’s better to stay closer. Besides, hiding in the Fengyu Pavilion means no one can find me.” Mu Yunjin winked at Chu Li.

Listening to her words, Chu Li felt increasingly irritated. Although he was the one who had suggested she leave the mansion to rest, now that she had decided to leave, he felt extremely unhappy inside.

“If that’s what you’ve decided, fine.” Chu Li suppressed his emotions, dropped this sentence, and walked out the door.

Mu Yunjin pressed her lips tightly together. Chu Li’s cold reaction made her lower her eyes in disappointment.

What did this situation amount to now…

If ten months later, after she gave birth to their child, Chu Li still behaved this way, what would she do?

That night, Mu Yunjin slept alone in the room. She waited for a long time, but Chu Li didn’t return.

She waited until nearly the Zi hour (11 PM-1 AM), when Mu Yunjin finally couldn’t bear it anymore. She sat up in bed, wrapped a cloak around herself, and walked to the door.

Outside Liquan Pavilion, Song Chun was standing guard at the entrance.

“Princess, do you need anything?” Song Chun saw her come out late at night and stepped forward with a slight bow.

“Where is Chu Li?” Mu Yunjin asked.

Song Chun was slightly startled. “The Prince is staying across from here.”

Song Chun pointed to the room where Mu Yunjin had previously stayed.

Mu Yunjin frowned, looked to the side, and seeing the candlelight burning in the room, bit her lip and turned back to her room.

Back in her room, Mu Yunjin had no desire to sleep. She was moving to the Fengyu Pavilion tomorrow, and Chu Li had separated their sleeping quarters tonight. Was this his way of showing he couldn’t wait for her to leave?

The more she thought about it, the angrier Mu Yunjin became. She walked to the wardrobe and began packing her belongings.

Soon, she had packed two large bundles. Mu Yunjin changed her clothes, dressed properly, picked up her bundles, and walked out the door.

Song Chun, seeing Mu Yunjin come out again, looked shocked, his gaze falling on the bundles in her hands. Even the usually most obedient guard noticed something was amiss.

He immediately called out loudly, “Princess, it’s so late. Where are you going?”

“Moving out!” Mu Yunjin’s voice was equally loud.

“This…” Song Chun scratched his head, not knowing what to do.

While he was pondering, Mu Yunjin had already walked around him and was heading toward the exit.

By the time she had almost reached the back door of the Prince’s mansion, there was still no movement behind her. Mu Yunjin was so angry that her brows furrowed tightly, and her eyes reddened with hurt once more.

“Damn Chu Li, next time you beg me, I won’t come back…”

After saying this, she wiped away the tears that were about to fall from her eyes and reached out to open the back door of the mansion.

Before her hand could touch the door handle, someone gently grasped her wrist, pulling her into a warm embrace.

“It’s so late. Where are you going instead of sleeping?” The familiar voice sounded above Mu Yunjin’s head.

Mu Yunjin pushed Chu Li away, raising her eyes to glare at him. “Where do you think I’m going?”

“Are you angry?” Chu Li’s lips curled into a slight smile, finding that her little tantrum didn’t displease him at all.

“No.” Mu Yunjin’s words contradicted her feelings.

Chu Li reached out to hold her shoulders firmly, embracing her and leading her back. “Let’s make an agreement.”

Mu Yunjin had been struggling, unwilling to go back with him, but hearing Chu Li’s words now, she followed his steps and looked up at him. “What agreement?”

“From now on, on the 15th of every month, this Prince will come to see you. How does that sound?” Chu Li spoke to her in a negotiating tone.

Mu Yunjin pouted. “Just one day a month? That’s not sincere. Might as well not meet at all.”

Even her monthly period came for five days!

Chu Li looked down at her. “The 1st and the 15th.”

“The 1st, the 15th, and the 30th,” Mu Yunjin stated her conditions.

Seeing her push for more and her slightly smug expression, Chu Li found her quite adorable. In this world, she truly was a special woman.

Mu Yunjin…

He seemed to like her even more now.

“Well? Do you agree?” Mu Yunjin raised her head when Chu Li didn’t answer right away.

“Mm.” Chu Li nodded.

Mu Yunjin’s eyes immediately showed delight. “Really?”

“Really.” Chu Li agreed to her terms.

Mu Yunjin rubbed her chin and muttered, “But I still don’t see the point of us living separately…”

“…” Chu Li was speechless.

Song Chun saw the two people walking in, embracing each other, and immediately felt relieved.

Just moments ago, one had stormed out angrily, and the other had immediately rushed out of his room with a gloomy face.

Now seeing the two of them getting along so well again, Song Chun really couldn’t understand what went on in the minds of people in love.

Especially after seeing the two of them enter the same room, Song Chun sighed slightly and looked at Ding Xian, who had also emerged nearby. “What was His Highness being fussy about tonight?”

“Brooding,” Ding Xian uttered a single word.

“What does that mean? I don’t understand…” Song Chun was completely confused.

Hearing this, Ding Xian glanced at Song Chun. “Despite spending so much time with the Princess’s maid, you don’t even know this term? Aren’t you a bit behind the times…”

“…” Song Chun felt somewhat perplexed.

In the room, Mu Yunjin was lying flat, thinking about the events at the Fengyu Pavilion during the day. She couldn’t help but turn to Chu Li and ask, “Chu Li, have you ever heard the name Fu Huan?”
